The Charging Dilemma: A Comparison of iPhone 7 Plus Charging Times with Standard and iPad Chargers
In this article, we'll delve into the world of smartphone charging times, specifically comparing the iPhone 7 plus's charging performance using standard chargers versus the iPad charger. We'll explore the results of a comprehensive test that puts both devices through their paces, providing valuable insights for consumers who want to make informed decisions about their charging habits.
The Test Begins
We started our experiment by connecting two identical iPhone 7 plus devices to different chargers. One device was connected to a standard charger, while the other was using an iPad charger. Both devices had been completely discharged to ensure that they didn't switch on until we began the test. We then set the timer and switched both devices on at the same time.
The Results are Already Revealing Themselves
Ten seconds into the test, we noticed a significant difference in the charging performance of both devices. The iPhone 7 plus connected to the iPad charger had already started to boot up, whereas the one connected to the standard charger hadn't even switched on. This early indication suggests that the iPhone 7 plus using the iPad charger is experiencing increased power coming through the charger.
Fast-Forwarding Through the Charging Process
We fast-forwarded through the charging process, checking in every half hour to monitor the progress of both devices. Around 2 minutes and 10 seconds into the test, the device connected to the standard charger had finally powered on, while the one connected to the iPad charger was still struggling to start. By this point, we were seeing some early results, with the device connected to the standard charger showing a mere 17% charge, whereas the iPhone 7 plus connected to the iPad charger was at around 34%.
The Gap Widens as Time Passes
As the test progressed, the gap between the two devices' charging performance continued to widen. After one hour, the device connected to the standard charger was at around 35%, while the iPhone 7 plus connected to the iPad charger had reached an impressive 64%. By one and a half hours, the difference had grown even more pronounced, with the device on the standard charger showing only 53% charge, whereas the iPhone 7 plus using the iPad charger had reached an astonishing 85%.
The Charging Time Continues
We continued monitoring the charging process, checking in every 30 minutes to record the progress of both devices. By two hours and four minutes into the test, the device connected to the standard charger was at around 99% charge, whereas the iPhone 7 plus connected to the iPad charger had reached a remarkable 98%. It wasn't until two hours and five minutes that the iPhone 7 plus finally completed charging.
The Aftermath
Our comprehensive test has revealed some striking differences in the charging performance of the iPhone 7 plus when using standard chargers versus the iPad charger. The results are clear: the iPhone 7 plus connected to the iPad charger charges significantly faster than the device connected to the standard charger. However, it's worth noting that both devices took an extended period of time to complete charging, with the device on the standard charger still showing only around 98% charge after three hours.
A Call to Action
As consumers, we have a right to expect more from our purchases, especially when it comes to something as essential as a smartphone's battery life. The fact that Apple doesn't include a decent charger in the box is not only inconvenient but also costly. We urge you, dear readers, to share this article and raise awareness about the issue by using the hashtag #ChargeGate. By doing so, we can potentially influence Apple to reconsider their charging strategy and provide consumers with a more satisfactory experience.
The Verdict
In conclusion, our test has demonstrated that the iPhone 7 plus connected to the iPad charger charges significantly faster than the device connected to the standard charger. While both devices take an extended period of time to complete charging, the results are clear: Apple should include a decent charger in the box to cater to consumers' needs and provide better value for their money. We hope that by sharing this article, we can inspire change and make our voices heard.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's of YouTube's acheron super-safe TV and this is charge gay so earlier this week I did a charging speed test between the iPhone 7 plus the Google pixel XL under the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge now the key thing that came out of that video was the fact that the iPhone 7 plus takes an extremely long time to charge using the native charger that comes out of the box however I did mention that if you use the iPad charger from the iPhone 7 plus charges a lot quicker how much quicker well I have two iPhone 7 plus a--'s here and we're gonna be charging both of them one with the standard charge that comes out of the box and the other with the iPad charger so getting straight to it the phone on the left hand side is connected to the standard charger the phone on the right hand side is using the iPad charger I'm going to start the timer and switch on the power on both at the exact same time and you can see the empty battery symbol on both devices here because both have been completely discharged to the point where they don't switch on now ten seconds in what you'll notice straight away is that the iPhone 7 plus on the right hand side has already started to boot up whereas the one on the left hand side hasn't so you can already see the effects of the increased power that's coming in through the iPad charger now side note neither of these devices have a sim card in flight mode has been switched on on both bluetooth and location are also switched off on both this is to make sure that we're specifically looking at charge times and there are no other external factors which may affect the results now fast-forward to around 2 minutes and 10 seconds and that's when the phone on the left-hand side has enough used to actually power up so some very early results already now we're gonna be checking the progress every half an hour so skipping to around 30 minutes the one on the left is around 17% on the iPhone and the right is on around 34% so we already have double the amount of charge on the iPhone 7 plus using the iPad charger now skipping to around after one hour the iPhone on the Left is on around 35% the one on the right around 64 percent after one and a half hours we've got 53 percent versus 85 percent so a significant difference now after on two hours were on 70 percent versus 98 percent so almost completed here using the iPad charger checking again around two hours and four minutes for a 99 percent and finally at two hours and five minutes when the iPhone 7 plus using the iPad charger completes charging at this point the iPhone 7 plus using the standard charger is at 73% after on two and a half hours we're at 84% after three hours we run around about 95% so it's already taking quite a lot longer for the iPhone 7 a plus 2 charge using the standard charger and after 3 hours and 20 minutes we're still on around 98% so this last chunk is taking quite some time and checking after 3 hours and 30 minutes we are still on 98% now something to bear in mind is that in the previous test the iPhone 7 plus did complete charging at around 3 hours and 27 minutes but that did start at 1% this time we have gone from 0% when it was completely switched off checking again at 3 hours and 40 minutes we're still on 99% and that's the same at around 3 hours and 42 minutes and finally at 3 hours and 43 minutes is when we reach 100% so as expected the iPhone 7 plus charge is significantly quicker using the iPad charger compared to the standard charger that comes out of the box now here's my problem with this and should also be your problem if you're a consumer the fact that I've paid a lot of money for this 720 pounds is what it starts at and if you go for one of the larger options then it can cost you up to almost $1000 and for that price I'd expect a decent charger to be included inside the box and not have to go and spend $20 more 20 pounds more to get something that's going to give me some decent charging times now let me just go on record to say that the iPhone 7 plus is probably one of the best smartphones out there in terms of battery life it does last a very very long time but the charge times with the standard charger are an absolute joke and Apple should really be including the fast charger inside the box now as consumers if we say nothing and do nothing that Apple are going to do nothing and whether you're a fanboy or not you can't deny that this is an issue and Apple should really do something about it and how do we get them to do something about it well share this video use the hashtag charge gate and keep sending this video to Apple whether that be by Twitter email or whatever else and hopefully they'll take that feedback on board and a next year will get a decent charger inside the box instead of the cheapy standard one that currently include so that's it from me guys a bit of a rant hopefully you did find it useful if you did then do leave it a thumbs up you'll see more
