iPhone XS vs iPhone 6 SPEED Test - 4 Years Makes a BIG Difference

**iPhone 6 vs iPhone Xs: A Speed Test Comparison**

When it comes to mobile devices, speed and performance are crucial factors to consider. In this article, we'll put two popular iPhones through their paces - the 2014 iPhone 6 and the 20-18 iPhone Xs - to see which one comes out on top in a series of speed tests.

**Galaxy on Fire: A Relaunch Test**

One of the first tests we conducted was Galaxy on Fire, a popular mobile game. We started by launching the game on both devices. To our surprise, the iPhone 6 relaunched the game from scratch, taking significantly longer to load than the iPhone Xs. In contrast, the iPhone Xs simply resumed where we left off, with no noticeable delay.

**CSR Racing: Another Relaunch Test**

We also put CSR Racing through its paces, another popular mobile racing game. Once again, the iPhone 6 relaunched the game, taking a considerable amount of time to load. The iPhone Xs, on the other hand, did not require a relaunch, allowing us to quickly get back into the game.

**PubG: A Speed Test**

Next up was PubG, another popular mobile game that requires quick loading times. When we launched PubG on both devices, the iPhone 6 took an eternity to load, while the iPhone Xs loaded almost instantaneously.

**Twitter and Instagram: More Relaunches**

We also tested Twitter and Instagram, two social media apps that are essential for many users. The iPhone 6 required a relaunch of both Twitter and Instagram, taking a significant amount of time to load. In contrast, the iPhone Xs simply resumed where we left off on both platforms.

**YouTube: A Speed Test**

We also included YouTube in our test, another popular streaming service that requires fast loading times. When we launched YouTube on both devices, the iPhone 6 took a considerable amount of time to load, while the iPhone Xs loaded quickly and easily.

**Amazon: A Speed Test**

Next up was Amazon, an e-commerce platform that's essential for many users. When we launched Amazon on both devices, the iPhone 6 required a relaunch of the entire app, taking a significant amount of time to load. In contrast, the iPhone Xs simply resumed where we left off.

**Safari: A Speed Test**

Finally, we included Safari in our test, the default web browser on both devices. When we launched Safari on both devices and navigated to Apple's website, the iPhone 6 took a considerable amount of time to load, while the iPhone Xs loaded almost instantaneously.

**TechCrunch: Another Speed Test**

We also tested TechCrunch, another popular tech news website that requires fast loading times. When we launched TechCrunch on both devices and navigated to the homepage, the iPhone 6 required a relaunch of the entire app, taking a significant amount of time to load.

**SpeedTest.net: A Wi-Fi Speed Test**

To see which device came out on top in terms of raw speed, we conducted a Wi-Fi speed test using SpeedTest.net. The results were astonishing - the iPhone Xs loaded significantly faster than the iPhone 6, with download speeds nearly double that of the older device.

**The Verdict: Is it Worth Upgrading?**

So, is it worth upgrading to an iPhone Xs if you still have an iPhone 6? Absolutely. The speed differences between the two devices are staggering, particularly when it comes to loading times. Whether you're a gamer, social media enthusiast, or just someone who likes to browse the web, the iPhone Xs is significantly faster and more responsive than the iPhone 6.

Of course, this raises the question of whether the price difference is worth it for most users. If you can afford it, upgrading to an iPhone Xs may be a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for a snappier, more responsive mobile device. But if budget is a concern, there's no denying that the iPhone 6 still has plenty of life left in it.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, our speed test comparison between the iPhone 6 and iPhone Xs has shown that the newer device comes out on top in terms of raw speed and performance. Whether you're looking to upgrade or simply wanting to see how your current device stacks up against a newer model, this comparison is sure to provide valuable insights into the capabilities of each device.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and today we're gonna be putting the brand new iPhone 10s up against the four year old iPhone six and a speed test you guys know how these speed tests go we're gonna be doing boot up tests we're gonna be doing app launching test video exporting tests and more so let's not waste any time at all let's see how much faster the iPhone 10's is than the iPhone 6 so starting off with the specs the iPhone 6 here is rockin Apple's a8 chip in 1 gigabyte of RAM along with 64 gigabytes of storage over here on the right we had the iPhone 10 S which is rockin Apple's new a12 Bionic chip along with 4 gigabytes of RAM and also 64 gigabytes of storage so we have a much newer chip inside of the 10s as well as a 3 gigabyte of RAM advantage over the six and once again before anybody in the comments is like oh why comparing the brand new I fo to an old iPhone the reason being is because you know there's people out there that may be on on iPhone 6 and they're looking to possibly upgrade to the iPhone 10s and they're probably wondering how much faster the 10s actually is and this speed test could either sell them on the 10s speeds or make them say it's maybe not worth and maybe I'll wait till next year so now that we got that out of the way let's start with a simple boot up test turn both of these guys off alright now let's go ahead and boot them up at the exact same time in three two one press down the power button at the exact same time and we get the Apple logo on the iPhone 6 first so it'll be interesting to see if the iPhone 10s loses here because the 10s max actually lost in both my previous speed tests on the boot up and lost to the note 9 and it also lost to the iPhone 7 plus so let's see if the six can beat the 10s here that'll be interesting nope the 10s actually beat the six even though the six got to the Apple logo first let's go back to that lockscreen let's see which one will pull up the camera first from the lockscreen so we're just going to swipe over and it looked like the iPhone 6 actually got to the camera and focused faster than the 10s from the lockscreen let's flip this camera around to front-facing and let's try that one more time so yeah it looked like the iPhone 6 once again from the lockscreen beat the 10s to get to the camera super interesting there I mean I know the iOS 12 really improved these speeds of the camera on the lockscreen but wow that is impressive I'm not expecting the iPhone 6 to win and any other categories but that was definitely an interesting result right there so let's go ahead and run the antutu benchmark to see which one actually gets done quicker and which one has a high SCOR we do obviously know that the iPhone 10s is gonna have a higher score but let's see just how significant the results are let's see how much more significant I should say the iPhone 10s results are so let's press start testing at the same time there we go so we're gonna run through a series of tests here and it's gonna take a while so I'll be back when it's close to finishing all right so there we got finished up on the iPhone 6 and you can see the iPhone 10s is just about 1% behind so just barely behind the six here and you can see the final scores there so we've got an 81 515 and a 366 441 if we click on that we can get some details so you can obviously see there is a massive difference in everything but the GPU is probably the biggest difference it was 1187 on the GPU on the iphone 6 and is 154 916 on the GPU on the iphone 10s and there of course was a massive difference in the CPU scores as well so let's see if those translate at all to actually opening up and running applications and we're gonna make sure that all applications are closed out so they are all closed out on the 10s and everything is closed out on the 6 as well so let's start out by opening Galaxy on Fire 3 and 3 2 1 we have a visual first on the iPhone 10s as expected still loading up here on the iPhone 6 and I'm just going to get all the way through to the play screen so I'm just going to keep tapping on both of them because there is a little menu first so there we go we got to the screen here on the iPhone 10s and you can see we are playing right now on the iPhone 10s whereas we're still wedding here on the iPhone 6 so about a good 30-second advantage there to the iPhone 10's a massive difference in gaming alright so now let's open up CSR racing two and three to one and the iPhone 10s of course jumps ahead here so far and it's looking like we're about ready here on the iPhone 10s let's go ahead and keep pressing on that and you can see big advantage once again to the iPhone 10's still loading up here on the iPhone 6 so we're gonna wait until we get to that screen here on the iPhone 6 as well so again massive massive difference here in gaming and it didn't actually load up all the way it just went to the restor saved game section so definitely huge advantage there to the iPhone 10s let's open up asphalt 9 and three two one looking like they're neck-and-neck right now of course the iPhone 10s does pull ahead now so yeah if you do have an iPhone 6 you're going to see a massive massive increase in performance if you go to the 10s especially in gaming so you can see we're still waiting even for something that's not very CPU intensive or GPU intensive just to the screen right here talking about your age and everything we are still waiting on the iPhone 6 this is gonna be about a 1 min a full minute advantage here for the iPhone 10s so there we go we did get a connection error maybe that's why it was taking so long but still that took forever for the iPhone 6 there so now it's launched Pub G same time pressed right there so we are checking for the update now and it does have a downloading its downloading the update on the iPhone 10s still haven't even got to that screen yet here on the iPhone 6 we can probably actually relaunch pub G and still beat the iPhone 6 let's see oh we may actually beat the iPhone 6 yep we beat the iPhone 6 actually after updating it relaunching the application still beat the iPhone 6 we'll probably be able to get into a game after relaunching it before the iPhone 6 even gets there so Wow another big big difference here between the iPhone 6 and the 10s and once again not a surprise that it's coming in the gaming category alright so now let's go into splice and export a video a video that I shot both in 1080p at 60 frames per second you can see we have the project right here 1 minute 24 seconds 1 minute 23 on the iPhone 10's pretty much the exact same file size let's go and click on that project and let's hit the share button on both and then we're going to hit save and 1080p at the same time there we go let's see which one exports it first you can see the 10s got off to a head start it's not too much it's not that much further ahead though look there's not that big of a difference but of course it does look like the iPhone 10s is going to win here which if you watch my previous speed test the iPhone 10's max actually lost the iPhone 7 plus and the note 9 in this category so you can see right there the iPhone 10's is pretty much at the end now so we're gonna be at about a hundred percent while this is at about eighty percent so there we go and we're still wedding here on the iPhone 6 export this 1080p video still wedding it's starting to crawl here at the end so you can see a good probably 20 30 second difference between the 10s and the iPhone 6 and exporting videos now let's open up some social media applications so let's start with Twitter I actually pressed it on the iPhone 6 first but let's see which one launches first so the iPhone 10's still waiting on the iPhone 6 there we go up hadn't even updated yet there we go now it's done let's open up Instagram iPhone 10s still wedding on the iPhone 6 there we go it finally refreshed let's go into YouTube press it on the iPhone 6 first and the iPhone 10s beat sit still let's go into Amazon press at the same time there and it finished first on the iPhone 10s still waiting here on the iPhone 6 still waiting still waiting there we go the iPhone 10's is definitely a beast when it comes to web browsing and just launching anything related to the web even web-based games just anything web-based the iPhone 10s just destroys most other phones in now let's open up the camera and it looked like the iPhone 6 actually won there with the camera once again not sure why the iPhone 6 is actually launching things that have to do with the camera faster than the iPhone 10s we saw it from the lockscreen at the beginning of this video and now just launching the application from the home screen it looked like the iPhone 6 was faster than the 10s at opening up the camera alright so now let's see if the RAM difference in these two which it's a three gigabyte difference we have four on the 10s and one on the iPhone 6 let's see how big of a difference that makes with applications that we're already running let's see if we get any kind of reloads on the iPhone 6 or the 10s let's start with galaxy on fire you can see it starts right back where we were here on the iPhone 10s well it looks like we do have a relaunch here on the iPhone 6 and it's going to take forever to get back to where we are on the 10s here let's go into CSR racing and once again we are at the screen already here on the 10s where as we did get another relaunch here on the iPhone 6 so if you play games at all on your iPhone and you have an iPhone 6 I think the difference in performance is a hundred percent worth it on the iPhone 10 s and we haven't even finished the speed test yet let's go to pub G and once again we don't have to relaunch at all here on the iPhone 10 s whereas the iPhone 6 we get a relaunch and that's going to take forever just to get back to the screen let's try Twitter and once again another relaunch on the iPhone 6 let's go to Instagram and once again it's still taking a while to pull up Instagram even though we just had it open do YouTube YouTube was actually the same time we didn't have a relaunch there on the iPhone 6 through Amazon and it's looking like we do have a relaunch here on the iPhone 6 it had to load up everything in the background again alright so now let's go on to the Safari test we're going to go to apple.com and three two one and the iPhone 10 s is there still loading here on the iPhone 6 still loading there we go like I said the iPhone 10 s is just a beast when it comes to web browsing web-based games anything related to the web let's go to TechCrunch and three two one and we're launched on the iPhone 10 s or not launch we're loaded we're still loading here on the iPhone 6 there we go and finally let's do a SP ENCOM fully loaded still loading on the six still loading still loading and there we go finally on the iPhone 6 and just for the fun of it let's try a Wi-Fi speed test to see which one actually gets faster speeds on my 5g network so we're running on the iPhone 6 first here you can see we got a fifty point nine download and a nine point eight eight upload so now let's run it here on the iPhone 10 s and you can already see that we are getting over double the speeds here on the iPhone 10s even when it comes to Wi-Fi and even when it comes to LTE you're probably gonna have at least double the speeds here on the iPhone 10 s and you can see the upload is about the same it's gonna end up being around 11.5 11.4 so you can see there big difference in the download between the iPhone 6 and the 10s so yeah guys there you have it that is the speed test between the 2014 iPhone 6 and of course the 20-18 iPhone 10s so if you do still have an iPhone 6 after watching this video you'll probably realize that you should update to the iPhone 10s because there is a massive difference in performance especially if you game on your iPhone 6 if you have any gaming applications at all it's definitely going to be a much better experience on the iPhone 10s but even if you just browse the web in Safari or just use social media applications like Twitter and Instagram you're still going to notice a big difference in load times so pretty much just all around the iPhone 10's is much much faster than the iPhone 6 but of course that was expected and you can make up your own mind whether you think the price difference you know between the iPhone 6 if you sold your iPhone 6 to buy an iPhone 10s do you think this performance is worth it that's a decision you'll have to make on your own but I definitely think that the speed difference makes it worth it to go from the iPhone 6 to the 10s so hope you guys enjoy the speed test if you did make sure to hit that thumbs up button also let me know down in the comments section below if you have an iPhone 6 or if you have a 10 s let me know which device you have and if you want to see any other speed tests let me know down in the comments section below hope you guys enjoyed this video make sure to check out all my other speed tests down in the description below and I'll see you guys soonwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and today we're gonna be putting the brand new iPhone 10s up against the four year old iPhone six and a speed test you guys know how these speed tests go we're gonna be doing boot up tests we're gonna be doing app launching test video exporting tests and more so let's not waste any time at all let's see how much faster the iPhone 10's is than the
