The Red Magic 6: A Gaming Phone Like No Other
For years, I've been putting mobile gaming phones through their paces, and one device that always comes to mind is my trusty old Sonic Forces phone. But this time around, I'm excited to share with you the latest addition to the gaming phone scene - the Red Magic 6.
This phone is geared specifically for gamers, and from a glance, it's clear that its creators have put a lot of thought into what makes a great gaming experience. The body itself is sleek and premium, with a large 6.8-inch display that's perfect for immersing yourself in the world of your favorite games.
One of the standout features of the Red Magic 6 is its impressive specs list. With a 120Hz refresh rate, this phone can handle even the most demanding games with ease. The 700nit peak brightness means that you'll be able to play these games for hours on end without having to worry about eye strain or fatigue. But what really sets it apart from other gaming phones is its cooling system - a clever fan located at the back of the device that helps keep things running smoothly, even during the most intense gaming sessions.
Now, let's talk about the gaming experience itself. I put the Red Magic 6 through its paces with my trusty old Sonic Forces game, and I have to say, it performed incredibly well. The phone handled fast-paced action scenes with ease, and the display was smooth and responsive even during the most intense moments of the game. But what really impressed me was the level of control that this phone gave me over its performance - with a pop-up panel that allows you to see everything going on in the game at any given time, including frame rates, battery life, and data usage.
This level of control is perfect for serious gamers who want every advantage when it comes to their gaming experience. With the Red Magic 6, you can block notifications, make screen recordings, and even access a range of customization options that allow you to tailor your phone's behavior to your specific needs. And with a simple switch, you can turn on or off the fan located at the back of the device - perfect for those who want to keep their phone cool while still getting a great gaming experience.
Of course, no gaming phone is without its trade-offs, and the Red Magic 6 isn't immune to criticism. For one thing, it doesn't have an IPX rating - which I can understand given the presence of a cooling fan, but it's worth noting that this might be a concern for some users who want a device that can withstand water or other liquids. And finally, it doesn't support wireless charging, which is likely due to its focus on keeping things cool and performance-oriented.
But in my opinion, these are minor quibbles - the Red Magic 6 delivers on almost every level when it comes to what makes a great gaming phone. With its impressive specs list, smooth display, and level of control over its performance, this device is sure to be a hit with serious gamers. And at a price point that's significantly lower than some of its flagship rivals, the Red Magic 6 is an absolute steal.
So, when it comes to gaming phones like the Red Magic 6, what do you guys want? Do you think features like cooling systems and high-refresh-rate displays are more important than other specs, or do you prioritize something else entirely? Let me know in the comments below!
In terms of pricing, the Supernova version of the Red Magic 6 will cost $8.99, while the Obsidian version comes in at $7.99. Both prices are significantly lower than what you'd typically expect from a gaming phone with this level of performance and features.
That's all for today's video - I hope you enjoyed it! If you want to learn more about the Red Magic 6 or have any questions, be sure to check out the links in the description below. And if you're into gaming phones like this one, let me know in the comments - what do you think makes a great mobile gaming experience?
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's going on guys it's your average consumer and today we're going to be checking out one of the most powerful gaming phones of 2022 the red magic 7 pro so red magic was cool enough to sponsor today's video and send this out for your boy to check out because you guys know i love me some mobile games to a fault but we're not here to talk about that we're here to talk about how much power this guy has and why it's built for gamers but real quick let's talk about what you get inside the box so when you get your hands on the box you can immediately see that it's got gamers in mind you can see the different figures and people in action here it's got like an anime vibe to it i'm all about that that screams judd once you get inside of it though you are greeted with a box that has your paperwork and also this plastic case which is great because it has some special qualities to it that needs this kind of shape it's got a hole in the middle but moving beyond that we've got the phone itself and you guys can already see this thing looks pretty cool but underneath it you've got your charging brick as well as your red usb c2c charging cable and this charging brick is actually 65 watts it's gonna be able to charge this phone very quickly this is the kind of power you can get with like some laptops but now guys the phone itself once you take it out the plastic you can see this thing is pretty wild it's got this transparent look to it you can see through to even the fans you can see all kinds of different logos we're going to talk a little bit more about the design but just right off the bat this thing's a stunner but all right guys here it is this is the red magic 7 pro now there's also the red magic 7 but this is of course the bigger brother it comes in two different colors what we've got right here is supernova and as you've already seen it's got like this nice transparent look to it it looks like a gaming phone and i'm not gonna lie i'm i'm here for it this looks cool you can't tell me it doesn't kevin can you tell me it doesn't i can't yeah everyone told you but they've also got another color which is obsidian and that one has slightly different specs 16 gigs of ram with 256 gigs of storage this guy has 16 gigs of ram with 512 gigs of storage and since we're on the topic of ram and storage let's talk about the specs powering this guy so of course we've got the snapdragon 8 gen 1 processor the latest and greatest for android devices right now we've also got that 16 gigs of ram we mentioned before 512 gigs of storage not to mention a 5 000 milliamp hour battery so if you're going to do some gaming you're going to be able to do that for a while now and that 65 watt charger you guys it is fast so if you want to go ahead game all you want focusing on the max settings you're gonna be able to do that and not worry about your battery whatsoever big battery fast charging can't ask for more than that now i know we already kind of talked about the back of this phone but let's take a look around the entire thing so obviously the back looks really cool uh one thing that it's got right here is a little cutout so you can see the fan so this is an actual physical fan inside that spins at 20 000 rpms once you're in a game let me show you guys what it does put on some pokemon go real quick oh snap snipey you guys can see we've got an rgb fan over here and you can hear it so you don't have to worry about the phone slowing down because the temperatures get too high so not only is that cool but it's also got this little intake right here so air can go in and on the right side it can come out when you're playing your games you don't have to worry about it slowing down that's that's what all us mobile gamers care about so that's pretty dope and i think the obsidian version has a logo that lights up so we got the rgb fan for the supernova but the obsidian has like a light up logo the back also shows all kinds of tidbits about the phone 5 000 milliamp hour battery it's got the ice 9.0 cooling system it's got a lot of cool stuff going for it um when you take a look around the rest of the device though the top you guys it's got a headphone jack now i don't know how many of you guys care about the headphone jack these days like kevin you care about the headphone jack let's say it's 2022 it we can't fight for it anymore but it's i'm glad it's here i'm glad it's here i'm not mad at it yeah i'm never going to be mad at that and right next to it you also have one of your stereo speakers and you've got the other one on the bottom as well as a usb c port over here on the left side you've got your game space switch so once you turn this thing on you are in game mode you have access to all your games in one spot you got like a dedicated library open and you'll be able to push this thing to its potential with a couple of on-screen settings it's really cool and we'll talk about that a little bit more later and on the other side the right side there's your volume controls your power button this is your exhaust so all that air that's being taken in and blown out by the fan comes out right here and you've also got these trigger buttons and it's a pretty popular feature that we've been seeing on gaming phones lately i believe red magic was the first to come out with it so if you're playing games like asphalt or call of duty maybe pub g you'll be able to use these to map different functions of the game right to these triggers so we took a quick tour around the device but now we got to talk about the screen so this is a 6.8 inch display it's full hd so unfortunately no quad hd but this runs at 120 hertz and you can select that at any time you can pick between 60 90 or 120 exactly the kind of controls we want i'm all for adaptive controls and adaptive refresh rates but there's something about just being able to pick exactly what you want at all times that i really appreciate and i don't know if you guys noticed this and i'll take you guys to a brighter screen really quick do you see a punch out for the front facing camera it's a clean screen listen you guys under screen camera uh this thing is really cool it does a really good job at hiding it but it's there it's there hopefully we can get some b-roll where we're able to show you guys if you have this thing at a crazy viewing angle to the side you can kind of see where it is but they did an amazing job hiding it this is probably the best i've seen so far but the front-facing camera it's not amazing i mean this technology still is still in development but for the most part like it's not that great but with this kind of phone i'd make the trade off so i can have my full screen i'm not much of a selfie taker anyway so i'm kind of good with that and not only does it have the under display selfie camera but it's also got the fingerprint scanner as well you guys can see is actually pretty quick but we've also got a triple camera system in the back we've got a 64 megapixel wide angle an 8 megapixel telephoto and a 2 megapixel ultra wide so you got your triple camera system of course a flash as well and from the few pictures that i've taken so far it's a pretty decent camera but we're not here for that we're here for what this thing can do gaming wise this thing has a multi-finger 960 hertz touch sampling rate for the screen so if you're playing your games and you need that fast reaction time like you're touching that screen you want it to react the second you press it the screen is going to be able to keep up with you it's the highest i've seen spec wise ever and it also has a 700 nit peak brightness that's not the highest we've ever seen but considering this is more so about gaming and not really hdr content or anything it's more than good enough so now that you know what you need to know about the body and the specs let's talk about the gaming experience you guys now this is geared for gamers this is a gaming phone so we got to talk about the experience now for me you guys know me for years and years i'm a big sonic forces kind of guy now this has always been kind of like my benchmark on whether or not a phone can really game well this particular game for me it gets pretty intense it's fast paced and if the phone does get hot you'll see frames drop it's just not a good time and you end up losing the race has nothing to do with my skills it's usually the phone but i've been able to play with this with no problem especially with that fan in the back now this game doesn't take advantage of the 120 hertz display but that's fine because it still runs buttery smooth and what's really cool is that you can actually make a pop-up come up where you can see everything going on in the game at the moment so you can see just how much power it's using you can pop up with a performance bar so you can see the frames this thing runs at 60. you can see how much data it's using your battery percentage lots of really vital information here and you just have so much control over how your phone is going to behave while you're gaming that is probably one of my favorite things about this phone just having that extra control is awesome you can of course block notifications calls you can screen record all the data you would want to see you got access to right here in this little pop-up it's a really really nice addition to what could be one of the best gaming phones out right now not to mention once you hit this switch right here you get into the game space so right here you've got access to your game space so you can see all of your games you can see your entire library and and right here too you can also add plugins you can turn on the fan whenever you want so even though you're gaming on this phone if you don't want to have the fan kick up you want to maybe have just like a chill session you can all you can control all of that from right here even in that other window that i showed you guys while playing the game but this is like for a serious gamer somebody who's like listen i'm a huge mobile gamer uh i want everything about my phone to be completely dedicated to just having the ultimate gaming experience and i feel like this phone really delivers and that makes sense right we've got a large 6.8 inch display we've got all the specs that we could possibly want to make sure we are getting the best experience we've got the touch sensitive triggers at the top i can't imagine there being a feature missing that this doesn't have besides maybe having a higher resolution display uh but besides that it checks all the boxes now a couple of things that i want to point out is that this doesn't have an ipx rating uh why would you want water anywhere near something with an intake fan you don't want to have water anywhere near this guy i think that makes sense also doesn't have wireless charging which also makes sense because you want to keep this thing as cool as possible we all know wireless charging is not the way you want to go if you want to keep this thing nice and cool and still be able to perform at a really high level with your games so even though it might have a couple things missing it's not really like it doesn't make sense it makes complete sense in my opinion but yeah guys when it comes to gaming phones this is definitely looking like one to beat now pricing wise the obsidian version is coming out for 7.99 and the supernova is going to be 8.99 still less than like the crazy flagship level devices which is pretty impressive considering flagship level specs here so pretty good job but this was of course focused on gaming that about wraps it up for this video guys hopefully you enjoyed it i'll of course have links to this down below in the description everything else you want to know check the links down below and i'll catch you guys in the next one you guys into gaming phones like how many of you really want just like the best mobile gaming experience or do other features matter a bit more let me know with a comment down below i'll catch you guys in the next one so that is your average consumer peace got the sun shining now and everything and you know it's a good day good day we got the red magicwhat's going on guys it's your average consumer and today we're
