June Wrap Up!

**My June Book Reading Experience**

I recently finished reading several books and I have to say that it was an incredible experience. The world in the "Miss Born" series is so rich, so unique, so entrancing and enticing. I tried to combine those two words together, and I'm serious when I say that it's fantastic. I gave this five out of five stars like literally. It was everything. Like, it was amazing. I'm not even kidding. If you're scared of Epic Fantasy, try this anyway. I promise you won't regret it. If you just read the final Empire and thought it was really good, keep reading because guess what? They get even better.

I haven't been so mind blown in a series in a long time, and it was just great. Great. So yeah, five out of five stars. Aie, I think that's all I can say about the first book I read this month. The next book I read was sent to me for review by a UK book seller called Book People, which I've talked about in other videos. It was "The Shock of the Fall" by Nathan Filer, and this is released in the US under a different title, which is really confusing.

Anyway, this is a contemporary story that follows a young man battling with both mental illness and the death of his older brother. It's extremely honest and beautiful and fantastic. I loved it. I gave it a five out of five stars on Goodreads, and if you're interested in more thoughts on this story, I did an entire review on it because that's how much I loved it. So check that out if you want more information.

But the next book I read was "The Glass Sentence" by SE Grove, which is a middle-grade to me leans more towards middle-grade adventure. It's about a young girl whose family and uncle are mat makers, and she lives in a world basically where the Great Disruption happened, which threw all the continents and parts of continents into different time periods. Like, if she lives in Boston in 1991, but if she goes over to the UK, it's in the 13th century. It's freaking cool.

Anyway, it's about her going on an adventure trying to save her uncle using all sorts of freaking cool different types of maps. It's amazing. If you're just a lover of really well-written adventure stories, this is for you. Um, I plan on doing a whole Mini review on this, so I won't say too much, but I'm just saying like if you love solid middle-grade adventure stories with an extremely well-written rich world, check this out because I really enjoyed it.

I ended up giving it a 4.5 out of five stars in Goodreads, and I wasn't disappointed which makes me really happy. So yeah, the next book I read was also sent to me by Book People for review, and that is "Scandal" by Sarah. I mentioned the synopsis for this book like 40,000 times basically. Contemporary best girl goes with her best friend's boyfriend to prom because best friend is sick. She kisses her best friend's boyfriend, someone takes a picture of it puts it on the internet, Scandal hence the title Scandal.

It was pretty good. I enjoyed this. I really liked the discussion this book had on shaming and basically just social media drama and like how people have like split personalities, how someone can be so vicious online and completely Too Faced to you in person that sort of thing. Um, however, I found some flaws with the storylines with like the characters and some of the stories. Just felt this to be slightly unrealistic. But over all, I did really enjoy it.

I ended up giving it a 3 out of five stars in Goodreads. The last book I read this month was "Poison Princess" by Crley Cole. I was really excited to read this book because I heard it was a really great post-apocalyptic tarot fantasy heavily romanced book that I was kind of in the mood for.

Uh, I was slightly disappointed with this. I really enjoyed the setting, being like pre like it had all the it had like the world before the world ended and then the world ended. It was really cool, and then this um it also integrated some cool stuff with tarot cards, which I really liked that I liked the world and I liked the setting. Um, the problem I had with this was the male character, the male swoony lead. I just wasn't a huge fan of him. I found him to be quite frankly annoying and just possessive, and I just didn't like him really at all.

Um, but I do plan on continuing on with this series because the main character is someone I do like, and she has had quite Great Character Arc in this book. So again, I'm excited to continue this.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys it's Reagan and today I'm filming my what's it June wrap-up June wrapup and I just got back from VidCon which was so much fun I have met so many awesome people hung out with so many it was just so much fun and I'm really excited for next year I'm going to think about next year's VidCon but anyway topic of this video June wrap-up the month of June I read 12 books I want to say which seems like a lot but honestly for some reason this month I felt like I wasn't reading anything and I think that might be just a combination of I read some pretty long books this month that took me just a longer time to read but anyway let's just get started also I got a haircut that's a thing that's a thing that happened so the very first book I completed in the month of June really end of May I didn't finish this in June but I didn't talk about it in my wrap up and that is City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra CLA the sixth and final book to the Mortal Instruments series I really enjoyed this book don't get me wrong The Mortal Instruments is not my favorite fantasy you're adult series however they're really fun they're really fast-paced and I've been reading this since I've for a long time seriously since like city of glass has been released I've been reading the series and I actually found this to be a really great conclusion and I ended up giving it a five out of five stars on good reads and I'm quite excited for the spin-off series that are going to be branching off of this in the future I really like I said I really enjoy this and I actually did a whole live show discussing discussing it with some other really awesome booktubers so I will link that down below if you want to hear more spoilery thoughts on it yeah the next book I completed was the immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa this is the first book to the blood of Eden Series this is like a dystopian vampire esque novel I have to say I really enjoyed this I gave it about a four or 4.5 out of five stars the thing that really I just really liked is like honestly the main character was such a boss and just wasn't dependent on anyone it was just refreshing and I just liked how she was really focused on her more morals and her own sense of humanity and the action in this was really cool as well as the world it's just really it was it's a really unique vampire book and setting and I really really liked it I mean I I will say I wasn't entirely connected to everyone but I just I did like the writing and I did like the World building and I'm excited to continue on with this series in the future next two books I read are first books one and two in a series and those are Untold no unspoken and un told by Sarah ree Brennan this is a paranormal contemporary fantasy I really have no idea how to classify it but it's pretty good the first basically the premise is it follows a young girl named Cammy she lives in a really small town in England and for her whole life she's been able to hear someone's voice just like she's it's imaginary friend she's always been talking to this person about her feelings and her thoughts and then one day um her like this in this small town it's in Engish so there's like arist aristocracy and this family who has been around in this area finally has moved back then she finds out um well that imaginary friend that she's thought has been imaginary her her whole life is a real person and then a whole bunch of crazy stuff occurs after that this series is really entertaining don't go into this expecting to like for beautiful Pros or beautiful this or that is just a really great series with really hilarious and great characters specifically the main character Cammy I think is a wonderful role model in young adults she is like I don't need help from anybody like she is spunky She is fresh she is she just does things that are logical and like true to herself and it it was just really refreshing to read additionally this Series has quite the angsty romance I mean I haven't probably read something this angsty in a long time however that makes it very um addicting so if that if that's something you're interested in I would definitely check these out I think I gave this one like a 4.5 out of five and I think I gave this one a five out of five stars they're really fast reads very entertaining I mean the World building it perhaps isn't the greatest and the Paranormal elements perhaps don't make the most sense but the characters keep me coming back in this and it's quite enjoyable the next um book is actually that I read this month was a graphic novel and it is am ENT by Kazu kabushi this is just lovely I just I absolutely love this this is a middle grade um graphic novel and the graphic design is so fantastic it's basically follows a pair of siblings um whose father has just died and their mother relocates them to this like ancestrial house because she basically can't afford to keep them in the city and then their mother gets kidnapped and they go on this epic adventure with this adorable rabbit sidekick to save the day it's just it's really fantastic I mean it's full of tropes and you know like obvious good and evil but it's really fun it's a great adventure story and I don't know I'm really excited to continue on and I want this to be made into a Miagi film please okay I Read Amulet I was just on a graphic novel kick and I read a duology of graphic novels next that were just amazing it is boxers and Saints by Gwen Jean Luen Yang I'm sorry I probably but it but this was so good so amazing this is a story told in two different perspectives these books um retell kind of the same story um it it set in China during the box of rebellion which is an uprising in China where this group called The Boxers a rebelling against all Western influence so Christianity just any sort of Western influence within their country they're fighting against as during this time period China was being greatly taken advantage of by European powers history I like history I like the Boxer Rebellion so yes the first one boxers follows a young peasant boy who joins the Boxer Rebellion to fight for his home and his people as they are starving and just being greatly taken advantage of and then it follows and then it's to this same story is told in another perspective from the Saints perspective from a Chinese Christian who is living this sort of interesting life in this time period as they are um you know taking on a very Western religious stance but are in fact truly Chinese it's so interesting and how everything just crosses over it paints a in beautiful and very interesting picture of morality it's great for discussion it it truly is a fantastic duology of graphic novels and if you interested in reading this you must read them both otherwise you won't get the full story truly it's great it's so great it's so great and I gave them both five out of five stars on good reads like I'm kind of obsessed with these right now because they're amazing I read after that I read with Jenny and it was the hero of agis by Brandon Sanderson the third and final book to the mbor trilogy and guys this was so freaking good I can't say anything about it I will tell you it was amazing if you haven't started this series please do it the world in the Miss born um series is so rich so unique so so entrancing and enticing as I tried to combine those two words together it's fantastic I gave this five out of five stars like literally I it was it was everything like it was so
