SteelSeries Diablo III Mouse Review

different mouses and um I have to say that this is Diablo II I usually stay away from things that are branded because they're branded and I'm kind of weird about things being branded you know when they're using different trademarks and that sort of thing but the elbow 3 is going to be a really good game and I've been using this for everything I've been using it for tribes it's got a 5700 CPI laser laser on the bottom it's one of the best lasers the guys that steel series could find and the other thing about this click click click click click this is what you're going to be doing when you're playing Diablo 3 you're going to be sitting there going click oh my God click on this thing I got to click on this thing some more well on steel Ser website they say prepare to click ass this thing is going to click ass all day okay inside this mouse they're using Omron switches they wanted the best switches ever because Diablo II is such a click intensive game the switches inside here are rated for 10 million clicks that's about three times uh three times the average gaming mouse so the best switches that they could find also the texture on this it's got a nice rubberized texture let's go through the buttons and take a really close look at this mouse shall we okay you'll notice that there are two buttons on each side of the mouse so you have two buttons on the on the left side two buttons on the right side also if you set the mouse down and take a really good look at it you'll notice that it is the same from left to right it's an ambid dextrous design I love when they do that because I feel like a lot of the gaming companies out there they make these mouses and they put them on the market and their box should just say you know right on the front of the Box should just say hey Lefty screw you dude on the top of the mouse you have your standard left and right Mouse click the scroll wheel it's feels nice feels nice to me you can see there's an LED behind the scroll wheel you can depress the scroll wheel and that's also a button click right behind that there's one more button there that's the only button on the mouse that is not programmable and that button uh governs the CPI okay if we take a look at the mouse cord here that is a double braided cord helps to keep it from getting tangled it also has a really nice texture feels like it's going to last a long time I'm not going to really bend it and try to break it or anything like that because I like the mouse I don't want to mess it up the cord is nice and long 2.5 M okay on the back you can see that there is um sort of a cutout laser cut logo in the back right here and there's a rubberized texture on here let's look at the bottom you see you have the feet on the bottom it's good for nice and it's good for sliding for a long time now the uh the lift on this is right around 1 mm so it's really smooth it's a nice looking Mouse shall we look at the software here's the engine you can set up all the profiles add new profiles you can change all your buttons here you can make it the Lefty Mouse by clicking here very very handy and you can change each button individually except for the CPI button so let's say we want to change the one of the buttons here on the uh right hand side of the mouse we can create a macro and you can also record the delays in the macro you can do that right there you can do all kinds of things you can even change the key font and cancel that and um let's see here if you don't want to do a macro you can have it launch any the application you just browse to the application launch it away oh I have this button always launch Minecraft then I'll never get anything done because I'll be playing Minecraft all the time you can also have it disable the key if it's a button that your finger just keeps hitting you can go ahead and disable it and you can save all your single key actions and custom actions all all over here uh settings you can see what I'm doing here CPI this will tell you when the LED is on and off LED turns on there um pulling rate you can change the intensity of the illumination and change the way the illumination works if it's going to be fast if it's going to pulsate slow Should Be steady or trigger indeed this is kind of cool so you have your profile names all over here right you've created your profiles now say you want to associate those profiles with certain games and you don't want to have to go through the H hassle of always opening the uh engine software to you know select the profile well you can associate certain exe files with certain profiles so let's say I want to do Diablo 2 and I want to associate that with Diablo well every time I open up Diablo I it's going to load up the Diablo I profile it's very very cool this is kind of cool too let me go over to statistics there it is okay there's your mouse and I'm going to go ahead and click start and what it's doing now is it's recording my clicks just so you can know I'm clicking clicking clicking playing Diablo 3 click on everything everything must be clicked I shall click and click and click some more okay I've clicked a lot and then I hit stop over here and blam during that session only 12 seconds Long hey not bad 62 times in 12 seconds I have got a ripped hand my my finger is ripped it's going to give you a good workout you can also check out the lifetime lifetime clicks right here do it there it is whoa scroll has been scrolled quite a bit browser forward and brow browser back I think something might be wrong there steel series they gave me this mouse I think someone's been playing with it I think they gave it to one of their friends and they like jammed they just kept pressing the buttons you can't tell so that is the uh the engine and that's the Diablo 3 skin on the engine hold on um really nice design on this mouse I like the feel of it a lot been playing tribes I'm going to go play some tribes tonight I'm actually using my Diablo II uh Mouse and headset to play tribes right now so it's really good for FPS as well just like all the other still series mouses very simple very elegant it's everything it needs to be without being overstated so I really like that about the mouse doesn't over complicate anything and it's also one of the most durable if not the most durable mouses I've ever seen in my entire life I uh I highly
