**Retro Game Console Review: A Mixed Bag**

I'm saying that the screen is amazing. The buttons are very responsive. Um, overall build quality is decent. It's rechargeable. It's got about 500 games on it - some of which are knockoffs and some of which are original games.

But overall, I would not say that this is a replacement for the Game Boy Advance. Absolutely not. This does not play Game Boy Advance games. I see that now. It's basically the Nintendo Original Collection, but with only about 200 good games on it. The rest are either remakes or knockoffs of those types of games.

Some of those remixes have been pretty weird and pretty fun, like the Mario knockoffs. But overall, um, the buttons are very responsive. I don't even know why these buttons are here at this point because I haven't found a game that actually used them. But they're very responsive if the A and B buttons and start and select are no different than using a real Game Boy Advance.

The d-pad is my weak spot. If you hit the d-pad in its right spots, it's actually pretty good. It does respond when you do actual hitting of the proper area. Now that I've seen how it works, I think it was starting to get better as I played with it. And that's important because if it doesn't quite give me what I want from the d-pad, then this thing is absolute junk.

But it did get better. It's seeming to get better, and that tells me that there's a high possibility that this has potential to be a great unit. Now, down the road, maybe I'll give it to my kids and let them play around with it a little bit. See how it opens up.

My verdict is: the screen is great, the buttons are great, and the build quality is definitely solid. It doesn't feel cheap, and it's not very heavy - unlike the original, which is heavier and doesn't even have the batteries in it.

The only thing I don't like about this console is the d-pad. Now, some people may disagree with me, but that's my review of this unit at this point in time.

three inch tft screen with 400 built-in games now before we start take a look at the rebuild i did on one of these game boy advances that it apparently is supposed to mimic so i bought this i bought this i brought this i bought this no i brought this out to do comparison as per how the build and feel is versus this guy so i had this guy out just to charge it up and i have done nothing more with it to make sure that when i turn it on we get a full experience here and see what it is like so right off the bat i want to go over how this feels i mean we all know how a game boy advance feels and how nice the buttons feel there's no click like there's a nice clicky uh but not noisy clicky feel to it and i mean this is brand new inside out because i completely refurbished it now this is brand new period it just came in so now let's open it up see what we get inside the box take a look at the outer shell compare it and then turn it on and see what kind of games are on it so i'm not expecting much as i mean it is a chinese knockoff of the game boy advance will it play game boy advanced games i don't know it says built-in 400 classic games retro game i have my doubts there's not much more on here other than backlit it can plug into a television it's got a super wide lcd screen and your key features has a console an av cable a usb charging cable and a user manual so it's a slide off the box is kind of nice so i'll give it that it's a very strong well-made box when we are first opening the box you're greeted with the unit packed in that nice you know kind of soft safe plastic we'll get to that after then we pull this out you have your shell piece usb charging cable and to my surprise it was actually one of the old style usbs and the only thing cool about that is they don't wear out as easy as the micro i would have loved it to be a usbc but this is probably the better of the two for just plugging in and charging the only downside to that was i don't have as many of these lying around anymore as i used to so if i lose this one might be in a little bit of trouble then we're greeted with the not high-end cable at all it's just a mini and i say mini because it's very small i'm not going to call it a 1 8 to a video and an audio so it doesn't have stereo audio just right off the start and it's falling out of its zip lock whatever who cares we didn't buy it for that we bought it for a portable and of course we get the toilet paper now this toilet paper may not be it's pretty basic not even is there english engrish there we go retro fc so it's actually called the retro fc it doesn't say that on there anywhere at all but it says retro fc right here on the instructions as you can see here as just your basic layouts of the product now the product itself i got this one in a see-through red why because it looks good so first things first because it might actually tarnish the video we'll take off the screen protector all right it's a game boys game boys game boys not a game boy advance silly it's a game boys huh let's see here it is exactly the same size they are identical i don't want to scratch i know my glass shouldn't scratch but i don't want to scratch it but anyway they are the same size this this everything's laid up the same these are a little stiffer but they still feel really good now keep in mind these are broken in a bit there might be new rubbers but they're broken in this is brand new ooh okay there's a huge difference so these are micro switches hear that click click click you click click micro switches whereas this is just a rubber switch still or a micro soft micro switch or something like that i know these are still micro switches as such but there is no click to them they feel the click but there's no noise so these are definitely noisy that could be kinda least you know when you click them d-pad it feels pretty good but i guess i'm gonna have to know that in games it's a little clicky whereas this one's more springy and then you got your start and select which feels absolutely identical so overall here's something really sad but overall this is a total knockoff of this guy the shell is identical um screen is a tiny bit smaller i'm not sure if that's because i put in the updated screen on this but no that should not be it so the screen is a bit smaller so i guess this is a 3.2 or 3.5 you can see here on borders if the camera shows that the borders on this are a little bit bigger than the borders on this now power switch in the same spot but the power switch does not look the same so there's a difference right there everything else is kind of the same you don't have the av jack right here you do have the volume control still in the same spot battery compartment battery compartments different because this one is fully rechargeable a nice mod i want to do to one of these later on no cartridge port so when they printed this you can see that it was all off the same mold kind of but they did not cut it out so would the screws line up no so that the back is definitely a new back the front is based off the same front the same screen diameters everything on the outside so this is a game boy advanced front in any which way possible i would believe i'd be able to take this off and pop it on a game boy advance except for the cutout right here so not without a little mod other than that it does look pretty much the same on top you are greeted with looks like a fine reset switch of some sort your av out and your charge port and on the original you just have your charge port the 2021 game boy advance so it must have all the coolest games in the world let us turn it on oh we are greeted with chinese or english that is annoying we're going to turn it down not that way we don't want to hear that nonstop so we're going to go down to english select 500 in one 401 500 okay so i got a bonus 501 not 401. now what i want to do here this screen is actually wow the screen is actually very vibrant the camera looks to me like it's picking it up it's very vibrant i'm going to take off the studio light so we can get better uh recording here so it says contra contra super contra mission snow bros jackal jackal is always a great game for me let's see uh how it plays so it looks like it's an 8-bit system let's see how it performs um this d-pad is got questions i can oh i'm gonna give this d-pad a little bit of trial and error here to see if i can break it in i normally love top downs but this is really getting on my nerves that is terrible can i go back is that what this is for okay so that little white button will take you back to the main screen let us go to a donald magic mappy really uh dinosaur police versus these are terrible ninja too let's take a look at ninja 2. i've never heard of this so bear with me buttons are very responsive i think they work really well so far i'm just not liking the d-pad but we'll find out if oh okay let's move on yeah we all seen that let's go this way and see what's in the you usually get your main games all right let's try super mario brothers and see how well the d-pad plays around with that um i'm noticing some weird the screen though is so far amazing why would you put such a great at the d-pad if i can just get this d-pad to be my friend this could be a good console very responsive like as far as the buttons go this thing is solid the screen solid the vibrancy in the screen solid it is actually a really nicely built unit but this d-pad let's go to a different game we'll go backwards again toy story got to so what they meant to say was bomberman okay so we know they have some weird renamed games it seems to be more near the bottom come on seriously now see for a game like this it's not so bad oh finally got one oh get stuck a lot like a lot the d-pad the d-pad let's go to a game where i get to use the d-pad to really use the d-pad let's see here i don't know why i went backwards yeah kung fu is there stargate let's try pack land does this look like pack land i don't know oh i have no idea what what in the world okay this is weird okay just because i don't know how to play this i'm not going to blame the d-pad that just seemed odd so let's go back to the beginning here um let's try double dragon on the worst console ever because this version of double dragon would have been best played on a master system just saying okay so what i find with the d-pad and this is something that you need to know if you're hitting the ends of it it works perfect but you know on your original you can pretty much just go from side side in the middle oh now it's starting to do it but not quite i think that it just needs to be worked in it looks like it's getting better but like back and forth starting to work a lot better now and it's starting to work itself in so it probably just needs a little bit of work but that is its flaw if you can over come and work in the d-pad you probably have yourself a great little console here it's packed with a bunch of decent games um but overall i mean i think this was maybe twenty dollars delivered i'll leave a link in the aliexpress it will be an
