The OtterBox Defender: A Case Study in Rigidity and Protection

I'm trying to explain what this case is like, it's not even rigidity, it's ultra protection. This is the top of the line slam boy status, with two layers of extra Ray civet II. It adds a little bit of extra weight, but let's check the buttons. The buttons do work now. If you notice, you got a little flap right here that covers up your slot. I got no nails. Let's see if I can open that up. I'll grab the little knife again, calm down Siri, there's a little switch that little flap could tuck that right in there. Same thing on the bottom, you got a little flap that covers up your lightning adapter cutout for your speakers. I hate to admit it, but I'm feeling in this case all right.

Let me slap this one on. Let's see if we could put this on screen out, all right, so you could do screen out if you want to walk around looking like a douche throw on your favorite YouTube video and ride out now. You remember this is old-school style, new school style, do what you do. Alright, so this is the OtterBox Defender. Now give me a second, let me peel this one off. Alright, so the last case we got from Outer Box is the Strata Folio. This one's gonna run you fifty-six bucks. It comes in a few different colors.

All right, so you got drop protection, you got a card slot. It's made out of genuine leather. You got a screen cover that's easy on and off and accessible volume controls. Alright, let's check this out now. This is my first out-of-box and leather case, so of course we got to do the smell test. Whoa! Alright, this is that leather, leather I'm convinced. Let's see on the inside there's your card slot. Okay, a little padding. Okay, OtterBox Brandon, there's your power button buttons cutouts cutouts. Buttons now this is actually plastic frame what you got there leather trim. I done this has the sea. Is this separate able nope! I, one-part style case TPU kind of feels to it.

Let's slap this on the 10s see what it looks like now let's see that this does this magnetized okay check this out there's a little magnet in there oh I like that! Alright, strata folio. Alright, I'm kind of feeling this one. Let's check the power button there's your power button. Let's check wireless charge no problems oh this is nice though! This is nice and I actually got one for the 10s max we went with the tannins color let's check this one out now.

I'm planning on passing this over to my daughter, that's why I went with this color. Let's just skip to sitting there, didn't make sure that's nice and tight! Oh, this is nice though! This is actually pretty nice! I thought this was gonna flap over, cuz I'm wondering why does that have that piece of metal but that's what a magnet! Let's go to shake chess now! I really want this to open maximum, shake didn't open all right, so I'm sold!

silicone case now this one has a soft feel to it no fingerprints on this one on the inside look at that pattern kind of like a napkin Tower feel to it real nice this is product red there's your buttons cutouts buttons and cutouts and you got your Apple logo I so will slap this one on check that Ray's iffy now the bottom is wide open but it's still slam boy certified let's check Wireless charge Wireless charge on deck there's your buttons no problems on this one now let me show you what it looks like for the iPhone 10s wrong case here's the silicone same thing and if you happen to feel to it more cutouts same Alcantara / velvet padding on the inside slap this one on I gotta say it this one feels so good in the hands ladies you know the procedures this is just a nice classy beautiful leather stitching this is nice let's slap this on the tennis actually in tennis max now no locking mechanism on this but this is just a nice wallet style case let's check wireless charge there's a wireless charging there's your buttons the smell of this case is unbelievable now on the side note if you put this side-by-side with the Galaxy Note 9 Samsung's other case the Apple case is way more luxurious you notice on the Samsung one there's no stitching is just one piece of leather this is that real supple leather you see how loose it is this one is way more beautiful alright so we got your card storage water-resistant tactile grip 360-degree folio protection see what it is now remember they used to call this frog skin like that check this out now this has a nice rubbery feel to it there's old you cut out some buttons got a little bit of ridges on that same honeycomb pattern nice soft feel on this this way it's not gonna scratch your screen let's slap this one in this has a little magnet in here you see that so let's do the shake test it's not gonna flap open you got to cut out so this way once you open your phone answer a phone call close it back up and now you can rock out on the inside you got a little slot right here for your credit card your credit card and the good thing is I don't have to dummy card on me but you see that hole in the middle this is why I retake let me try let me try that again you got the credit card slot on the inside you see that little cutout right there this way if you stick your credit card a minute this is kind of tight you can use alright so the last case we got from you AG happens to be my favorite one the monarch series now this one is gonna run you 60 bucks comes in a few different colors now this has top grain leather so again this is that level of oh you got premium materials five layers of protection and an armor frame sixty bucks now if you're going to get one you AG case get this one check this out the monarch series look at that level that's real leather in the middle alright you got an almond frame nice pattern on the inside real screws honeycomb pattern on the side that's gonna give you some grip textured power button plus and minus or your cutouts you AG Brandon on the inside this is official tissue look at the rigidity on this one now this is maximum protection all the cutouts line up there's your wireless charge these your buttons no problems on this one now total is going to show you something for the iPhone 10x so let's run through those real quick alright so we got another monarch series now this is for the iPhone 10 and the 10s now on the side note most of the cases I'm not gonna say all them I would say 99% of the cases that I got and I got about 100 they all fit to 10 and the 10s now certain cases are cut differently but I'll show you what I'm talking about so this is last year's monarch this year's iPhone 10's slaps right on everything fits look at the camera the camera is right in the middle now just for a reference point is the iPhone 10 another last year's monarch case look how the camera's fit identical alright so we got a few more cases check this out now y'all remember - yeah where's my phone's case video we got the camo joints so got the white camo the black camo and this is my favorite one why would say actually my second favorite one well slap layer protection here we go okay commuter series now basically heavy duty rugged style case no fingerprints on this you got to cut out for your Apple logo there's your OtterBox Brandon now this is a two part style case so TPU and the hardshell nice textured feel on the buttons let's knock this one I want to see what it looks like now check out that raise if Edie Jesus right that's maximal ISIL will slap on the second half let's lock everything into place and here we go now this case is definitely gonna add a little bit of extra weight but you got extra protection let's check that button top grain leather so again this is that level of oh you got premium materials five layers of protection and an armor frame sixty bucks now if you're going to get one you AG case get this one check this out the monarch series look at that level that's real leather in the middle alright you got an almond frame nice pattern on the inside real screws honeycomb pattern on the side that's gonna give you some grip textured power button plus and minus or your cutouts you AG Brandon on the inside this is official tissue look at the rigidity on this one now this is maximum protection all the cutouts line up there's your wireless charge these your buttons no problems on this one now total is going to show you something for the iPhone 10x so let's run through those real quick alright so we got another monarch series now this is for the iPhone 10 and the 10s now on the side note most of the cases I'm not gonna say all them I would say 99% of the cases that I got and I got about 100 they all fit to 10 and the 10s now certain cases are cut differently but I'll show you what I'm talking about so this is last year's monarch this year's iPhone 10's slaps right on everything fits look at the dual layer protection here we go okay commuter series now basically heavy duty rugged style case no fingerprints on this you got to cut out for your Apple logo there's your OtterBox Brandon now this is a two part style case so TPU and the hardshell nice textured feel on the buttons let's knock this one I want to see what it looks like now check out that raise if Edie Jesus right that's maximal ISIL will slap on the second half let's lock everything into place and here we go now this case is definitely gonna add a little bit of extra weight but you got extra protection let's check that button there's a power button again look at that raise if ax T now I don't want to slapping this too hard it might go right through the table slam boys certified let's check Wireless charge no problems OtterBox Commuter Series 35 bucks now this one comes in a few different colors so check this out on the bottom you got a little flap that covers up your lightning adapter slot and you got two cutouts for your speakers heavy duty style case alright let's keep it pushing next up we got the OtterBox symmetry now this one's gonna run you forty five bucks sleep protection again drop protection ultra slim one-piece design easy on and off yeah let's see flick of the wrist flick of the wrist okay now one one part style case no fingerprints on this little OtterBox Brandon got that pattern on the inside that's for shock absorption there's your buttons cutouts buttons cutouts so we'll slap this one in now let's see you gotta force this one near like a gentlemen of course okay look at that raise if ax T on this one a little bit of extra weight on this but definitely screen protection there's your button all the cutouts line up slam boys certified I like the feel of this one this is actually nice no fingerprints while this charge works OtterBox symmetry series all right let's see easy on easy off let's see okay not bad okay I believe it I believe it next up we got the OtterBox Defender now this one is gonna run you 45 bucks comes in a bunch of different patterns let's see drop protection dust protection multi-layer protection and the belt clip holster included all right 45 bucks and I went with this this wilderness pattern style right here but you get whatever one you like let's pop this out okay now here's your here's your holster belt holster let's see if it's 360 by 360 degree swivel this is a quality clip on this you could just feel the weight on this I like that here's your case now let's see we're gonna have to peel this one apart let me grab a little knife now check this out this is what you got to do shout out to the thing grab a little knife just stick it in there loosen that part up then you're just gonna unpeel it alright so get everything out of there just like that now you got another part you're gonna have to separate this alright let me see if I can do this without breaking it hold on a second okay so basically you're just gonna pull this apart just like that will slap the iPhone in we'll lock this back into place okay everything snaps a nip then we're gonna grab the rubber shell slap this one on then we'll just work everything around you see you just want to make sure everything is nice and lined up you get it look at nice and neat okay now let me do this oxy alright so once everything is lined up this is what its gonna look like now this is not even rigidity this is a new word this is ultra protection hi this is the top of the line slam boy status that's two layers of extra Ray civet II this case does add a little bit of extra weight let's check the buttons buttons do work now if you notice you got a little flap right here that covers up your slot a vibrate switch I got no nails let's see if I can open that up I let do what you do alright so this the OtterBox Defender now give me a second let me peel this one off alright so the last case we got from outer box is the strata folio now this one's gonna run you fifty six bucks comes in a few different colors all right so you got drop protection you got a card slot it's made out of genuine leather you got a screen cover easy on and off and accessible volume controls alright let's check this out now this is my first out of box and leather case so of course we got to do the smell test whoo alright this is that leather leather I'm convinced let's see on the inside there's your card slot okay a little padding okay OtterBox Brandon there's your power button buttons cutouts cutouts buttons now this is actually plastic frame what you got there leather trim I done this has the sea is this separate abled nope I one part style case TPU kind of feels to it let's slap this on the 10s see what it looks like now let's see that this does this magnetized okay check this out there's a little magnet in there oh I like that okay strata folio alright I'm kind of feeling this one let's check the power button there's your power button let's check Wireless charge no problems oh this is nice though this is nice and I actually got one for the 10s max we went with the tannins color let's check this one out now I'm planning on passing this over to my daughter that's why I went with this color let's just skip to sitting there I didn't make sure that's nice and tight okay oh this is nice though this is actually pretty nice I thought this was gonna flap over
