TCL 6 Series 75-inch 4K HDR TV _ Unboxing and basic setup

OK so we get to the TV itself and you know what comes next we get to screwing back in the TV shot again and you know what not as plain as I was expecting from a TCL it's a nice little pattern going on here I'm resisting the urge to pull the plastic off right now we'll wait till we flip it around thanks for the advice one thing worth pointing out over here HDMI ports there's only three of them and I mentioned that because the main competition for this TV probably the Vizio P series has four of them so if you're in need of HDMI ports keep that in mind good grief okay oh my god this is ridiculous I'm all for SHINee TVs but come on I just want to watch TV I'm so over this right now you know what I should have taken it off before we turned it around worst move ever like an anaconda shedding its skin all right just caught my breath not just because of that ridiculous unwrapping on taping situation but this is a heavy TV very heavy definitely have a pal around to get this wrangled and up on the wall or on your entertainment stand and you'll notice too that it's a little bit on the thick side I get that we have a full array locally dim back light back there but definitely expect a bit of a bump out from the wall but other than being big I mean it's a decent looking TV these bezels here are not particularly thin but they are nice brush metal and if they're not actually metal then they got me fooled the stand here like I said robust and sturdy that's also metal and then you've got the little circular power button right here next to the roku TV insignia in case you're wondering and I know you are the total width of the stand here is 62 inches I love Roku OS it's one of the best things about this TV super simple to use easy to understand the only thing you need to know if you've never set one up before is that it can take a while it's gonna be about eight nine minutes maybe a little more to download a whole bunch of apps you will never use I'm afraid that's just how it goes you can't do anything about it once that's done though everything happens extremely quickly turn on all your stuff tell Roku what it is and you're off to the races so let's talk a minute about adjusting picture settings if you do it from the home screen you can click on settings and then picture settings but that just gets you like a general brightness mode in order to actually adjust picture settings you want to go into the app that you want to adjust settings for you want to go into your blu-ray player cable box whatever to get that going then press the asterisk key and here you will get your settings so we can adjust brightness just sort of generally speaking here we're in HDR right now so we have a dark and bright HDR mode normal as well it looks like but when we don't play HDR content that's where you would select movie would be my recommendation just to get you started when you go into HDR it'll automatically select your preferred HDR mode we're using dark here because it looks best especially for this video after that you want to go down to advanced picture settings and will note that in HDR mode local contrast is high that's true for the movie mode as well you can go through all the individual settings none of which I would recommend changing because I like all of them they have smoothing action clarity and LED motion clarity all of them turned off so you're not going to suffer from any soap-opera effect out of the box with either the movie or the HDR settings so if you watch my TV review videos you know I have already reviewed the 65 55 inch TCL 6 series before I wanted to bring the 75 inch one because it's newer too because it's going to behave differently potentially I want to make sure that the screen uniformity looks really good and also I wanted to compare this to the existing Vizio P series because they're comparable priced for the size but you know what I think I'm actually going to compare this to the Sony x9 50 G which at this size costs over two thousand dollars more yeah it's punching up at that level I think you're gonna be really excited by what I have to say in my full review video which I will have coming very soon you guys thanks again for watching leave a comment down below about what you want to see in the review video I think I have a pretty good idea but leave a comment anyway hit like subscribe that notification bell if you would here's two more videos that we think you'll like and always visit Digital Trends calm for the latest tech news and reviews

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome back everyone I'm Caleb Denison and today we're checking out the 75 inch version of TCL six series TV this came out not too long ago it's already been discounted and man what a deal one of these days I'm gonna pull all the accessories out of the box and be shocked at what I find but today is not that day it starts with a dead tree which we will throw away as we usually do to rather stout looking stand legs and that's important because this is a big TV really nice robust screws still rocking the breakout cables huh TCL and then we've got power cable batteries TCL brand only the best for our roku style remote we've got the TV inverted don't worry there's some foam protecting the screen and a couple of things I noticed one is we've got two sets of speakers here one obviously a tweeter the other will call a woofer but maybe this TV won't sound like garbage also really important you can sort of invert these legs so that they point inward if you want to that'll save you a little bit of space but I don't like that for two reasons one I think it's ugly too I think we need this wider stance for stability that's really important and then you know what comes next we get to screwing back in the TV shot again and you know what not as plain as I was expecting from a TCL it's a nice little pattern going on here I'm resisting the urge to pull the plastic off right now we'll wait till we flip it around thanks for the advice one thing worth pointing out over here HDMI ports there's only three of them and I mentioned that because the come on I just want to watch TV I'm so over this right now you know what I should have taken it off before we turned it around worst move ever like an anaconda shedding its skin all right just caught my breath not just because of that ridiculous unwrapping on taping situation but this is a heavy TV very heavy definitely have a pal around to get this wrangled and up on the wall or on your entertainment stand and you'll notice too that it's a little bit on the thick side I get that we have a full array locally dim back light back there but definitely expect a bit of a bump out from the wall but other than being big I mean it's a decent looking TV these bezels here are not particularly thin but they are nice brush metal and if they're not actually metal then they got me fooled the stand here like I said robust and sturdy that's also metal and then you've got the little circular power button right here next to the roku TV insignia in case you're wondering and I know you are the total width of the stand here is 62 inches I love Roku OS it's one of the best things about this TV super simple to use easy to understand the only thing you need to know if you've never set one up before is that it can take a while it's gonna be about eight nine minutes maybe a little more to download a whole bunch of apps you will never use I'm afraid that's just how it goes you can't do anything about it once that's done though everything happens extremely quickly turn on all your stuff tell Roku what it is and you're off to the races so let's talk a minute about adjusting picture settings if you do it from the home screen you can click on settings and then picture settings but that just gets you like a general brightness mode in order to actually adjust picture settings you want to go into the app that you want to adjust settings for you want to go into your blu-ray player cable box whatever to get that going then press the asterisk key and here you will get your settings so we can adjust brightness just sort of generally speaking here we're in HDR right now so we're we have a dark and bright HDR mode normal as well it looks like but when we don't play HDR content that's where you would select movie would be my recommendation just to get you started when you go into HDR it'll automatically select your preferred HDR mode we're using dark here because it looks best especially for this video after that you want to go down to advanced picture settings and will note that in HDR mode local contrast is high that's true for the movie mode as well you can go through all the individual settings none of which I would recommend changing because I like all of them they have smoothing action clarity and LED motion clarity all of them turned off so you're not going to suffer from any soap-opera effect out of the box with either the movie or the HDR settings so if you watch my TV review videos you know I have already reviewed the 65 55 inch TCL 6 series before I wanted to bring the 75 inch one because it's newer too because it's going to behave differently potentially I want to make sure that the screen uniformity looks really good and also I wanted to compare this to the existing Vizio P series because they're comparable priced for the size but you know what I think I'm actually going to compare this to the Sony x9 50 G which at this size costs over two thousand dollars more yeah it's punching up at that level I think you're gonna be really excited by what I have to say in my full review video which I will have coming very soon you guys thanks again for watching leave me a comment down below about what you want to see in the review video I think I have a pretty good idea but leave a comment anyway hit like subscribe that notification
