A Hands-On Review of the Amazon Echo Show: First Impressions

As I sat in my home, surrounded by clutter and chaos, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as I unwrapped my brand new Amazon Echo Show. The device was registered to me automatically through Amazon, which I found quite impressive. According to Why Justine's unboxing video, the process can take some time, so I was eager to get started.

As I began the setup process, I noticed that the device's reflective surface made it difficult to see much of its design in my current environment. However, I promised myself that I would show this in more detail in future videos. The Echo Show is currently downloading updates, which can take a while. As I waited for the updates to complete, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation and excitement for what was to come.

As I installed the updates, your device will restart twice, which is a normal part of the process. I'm told that this speaker chamber is designed to produce bassy sounds, which I love. Additionally, the thicker build of the Echo Show is expected to enhance its overall sound quality. When I say "thicker," I mean it's noticeably different from the older cylinder design.

Now, let's focus on the Echo Show itself. Amazon introduced this device as a way to bring Alexa to life in a new and innovative way. With the Echo Show, you can enjoy everything you love about Alexa, but with the added benefit of visuals. This means you can watch movies from Amazon Video, view your photos, or see what's on your calendar and to-do lists.

The viewing angle is actually quite good, which I think will make a big difference in how I interact with this device. For example, I was able to call my friend Tina and message her through the Echo Show. You can also use Alexa to make hands-free video calls to friends using their supported Echo devices or the Alexa app on their phone.

Music is another feature that I'm excited about. The Echo Show fills the room with bold stereo sound, which is exactly what I'm looking for in a home speaker. You can follow along to the lyrics of your favorite songs with Amazon Music. Alexa also helps you take control of your busy life by providing information on popular songs and events.

If you're feeling hungry, you can use Alexa to find nearby sushi restaurants or other food options. The Echo Show is also equipped with a built-in camera, which allows you to watch movie trailers or even watch your favorite shows and movies from Amazon Video.

One of the features I'm most looking forward to using is the ability to ask Alexa questions about things it's not familiar with. When you say "Alexa, what can I say?" the device will provide a list of things you can try saying to get started. This feature alone has me excited for the possibilities that this device will bring into my home.

As I finished setting up the Echo Show, I noticed that the audio sounded better than I expected. The bassy sound is noticeable, and I'm looking forward to experimenting with different music settings. To test the device further, I played a station of classic rock music through Alexa. The exposure difference between the old and new devices is stunning.

Finally, I decided to test out the Echo Show's photo feature by asking it to show me my photos. The device displayed a few of my favorite photos, including an old picture of myself that I hadn't seen in years. It was a fun surprise!

As I finished my first impressions of the Amazon Echo Show, I realized that this device is still in its early stages of use and exploration. However, with its impressive features and sleek design, I'm excited to see where it will take me in terms of innovation and creativity.

this thing in my life hey now granted it was 230 but hey business expense and i love my echo so i don't really see this thing disappointing me so here we go oh by the way justine actually commented on my instagram photo on facebook of this which i thought it was really cool so justine thank you for that i don't know i've looked up to her for a year since like the beginning days of youtube so that just means a lot to me i'm not gonna bore you with details too much because you guys should know what the echo look echo show does dammit david echo show but i will be giving you some in-depth impressions in future videos such as my weekend vlogs maybe even today's weekend vlog this video is going up on tuesday but my weekend vlog went up yesterday i'm doing a little bit of youtube time travel all right here we go table's a little shaky so i'm trying my best not to move too much it's upside down of course as always apple out sorry as always amazon's got that very simple packaging going on and here we go now i've heard the echo show is a little thick we'll see and yeah she's definitely got that big black booty going on damn son look at you you got that booty that's okay though that's okay that booty in theory um makes good audio possible so yeah i mean if it takes a thicker build to produce better audio i'm all in the screen is i think seven inches so yeah probably about the size of a nexus 7 tablet i sold my nexus 7 years ago it was okay power brick boom uh amazon echo show things to try news weather traffic alarms timers calendar shows podcasts radio list to do shopping um amazon obviously you can add paper towels to your cart and stuff like that that's just an example now what's really cool about this versus the regular echo is if i want to order stuff i don't have to second guess like wait is that the best one because previously you're just hearing audio but i mean when you can see the actual product on screen that kind of changes everything so perhaps i will use this for shopping more often than in my mac you never know at least we're reordering things like cat food and cat litter and whatever and i'm sure another manfrotto pixie mini at some point so anyway you can also do video chatting video calls all that stuff prime music which shows your lyrics i think i told you that actually that was on the weekend vlog you can discover music listen to audiobooks smart home so i can use this to control my lights and i think this might work in my ring video doorbell so in theory i can say alexa show my doorbell and it would come up on here and then i could see outside my front house so that's just another example of how using a screen can greatly change how you use your account okay so as i mentioned seven inch screen not a bad size and i did go with black just because i think it blends in better get this plastic oh my gosh that was like the smoothest plastic i ripped off a product in a while probably smoother than my ipad seriously that was like incredibly smooth all right on the top here we have volume controls now are they physical buttons are they touch ah physical interesting not a good or bad thing just an interesting design decision and this looks like a mute button maybe for audio and video just in case you don't want someone dropping in and watching you which by the way you completely um can set it up in your privacy settings so you're not gonna have like strangers dropping in on you um unnoticed hey the cats always pick at that door i miss my house i do uh we got a rubber grip on the bottom here so this thing is not going to be moving anywhere okay i'm going to get this hooked up and i'll be right back all right let's get a first boot put that right there hopefully this is long enough to reach this outlet okay so it's plugged in is this the power button maybe i gotta hold it down there you go amazon very reflective you gotta keep in mind i'm literally in a sunroom right now so windows on like
