The Thrill of Drag Racing: A Story of Triumph and Camaraderie

We're still trying to process what happened at the drag racing event in Florida, where our team took on the best of the best. As we reflect on the experience, it's clear that this was more than just a competition - it was a testament to the power of friendship and determination.

The journey began with a push start, a classic move that requires finesse and teamwork. Our team of friends, all seasoned drag racers, worked together seamlessly to get the engine revving. We were determined to make a statement, to show everyone what we're capable of when we put our minds together. And boy, did we ever deliver.

As we made our way down the strip, the tension was palpable. The clock was ticking, and every second counted. Our Integra's tires screeched as we took off, the sound echoing through the stands like a symphony of speed. We were a well-oiled machine, each of us knowing our role and executing it with precision.

But just when we thought things couldn't get any worse, disaster struck. The timing belt tensioner snapped, destroying the engine and sending shockwaves throughout the team. It was as if the universe itself had conspired against us. Yet, even in the face of such adversity, we refused to give up. We came together, supporting each other like a family, and worked tirelessly to rebuild the car.

And then, something miraculous happened. The engine roared back to life, the pistons pumping furiously as we made our final pass. It was a moment of pure elation, one that would stay with us for the rest of our lives. We had done it - we had beaten Cooper and secured the highest trap speed of the night (88 miles an hour). We met some incredible people at the event - guys from SP Tuning, Cletus, Cooper, Kyle from 13:20 Video - people who shared our passion for drag racing and were willing to lend a helping hand.

As we stood on the stage, basking in the adoration of the crowd, we knew that this was just the beginning. We had caught the bug, and there was no turning back. We would return to Florida, eager to take on new challenges and push our limits once again. And as for the Integra, well, she may be a broken car now, but her legacy will live on.

And so, with heavy hearts and tired eyes, we said goodbye to our host city, promising to return soon. As we made our way back to the airport, the memories of the event began to fade like a sunset on the horizon. But we knew that the lessons learned - about teamwork, perseverance, and the power of friendship - would stay with us forever.

The old Vtec head, once a proud engine, now finds itself in a new home, courtesy of our friend Jake. We're not sure what the future holds for her, but one thing's for certain: she'll always have a special place in our hearts. And as we boarded the plane to head back to Colorado, we couldn't help but smile at the thought of what was yet to come - the rebuild, the upgrades, and the next adventure waiting just around the corner.

It's time to get back behind the wheel, to feel the rush of adrenaline as we push our limits once again. The thrill of drag racing may be a fleeting experience, but its impact on our lives will linger long after the final lap is completed.

are alright guys so unfortunately the Integra did break down Ricky just got here with his Civic it's on a trailer we're going to be unloading Ricky's Civic and he's going to drive it the rest of the way and then we're going to put the Integra on the trailer just to get it over to the track we'll talk about more of what happened to it once we get there but uh yeah Brent and Jeremy took off to go grab a the stock cylinder head that was on the car because we might be able to reuse it at the track but we'll get more into that once we make it over there watch yourself well vehicle swap little it's not mine it's a rental just one little rep on the bridge you're gonna do it something L forgot I mean it would have happened either way but yeah completely like 180 the cams apart from each other we got some cooking and you get it runny at least for the demo drugs yeah thank you do you be able to make it work 200 or so even if it's 90 you just gotta do it that much if it moves we got time to mess with got a little closer everybody oh damn took the lights out Brent my son we brought another rod and piston he's a little I'm sorry dude all over a little time about ten semester up real yet so we have another piston on the way I'm gonna just try to make that work reuse the holdout let's head home this machine shop came in clutch Tampa yay he's bringing us a piston he's bringing this clips bringing us basically a cylinder which is exactly what we need we just won't have that VTEC anymore that's all right tongs we can get it going again I only mean why it's old tune will boot it up in there all because of that time belt tensioner all the time though that's something we that's something we didn't mention in the video Cletus and I worked on it for a long time but pulling it out you could feel like the threads were all messed up in the block and the bolt wanted a break so please pride on it and I tighten as hard as I could but now we're gonna do the same thing but instead of having the spring off of the tensioner I'm gonna use a wire and I'm gonna take it up to another bolt so he'll have to rip the wire yeah yeah we just we thought it would be fine so we didn't say anything about it but the time boat was just way too loose the whole time we did that wormhole there's just too much load for it and just slip the belt like crazy pulled the cams all out of whack and and piston hit it out hissing hit the valve and history from there if only it was a non-interference it would've been fine yeah it was a bike terror type setup yep on top of it yeah hopefully that new piston will get her back up and running all right so Emilio is getting ready to make his first pass you ready for this oh yeah first hit of the day and he's going to be going against SB tunings Integra what's up let's finally meet you guys over here this thing is gutted yeah okay just going in sometime next week right now yeah how does seen you guys run that 11 flat yeah I'll sweep this tire was almost empty and to rescue training I was good when I did the burnout remember what you saw my face when I was like oh yeah hopped out at first let's make the shift linkage broke like though I'm holding it up right now the whole time did you bolt it on the auto bailout damn the shifter fell out are you serious shifter drop down no way damn so we finally figured out what happened I don't know if you can see it but if you look back there the two bolts that go on the side of the for the T bracket there's not one yeah the top one ripped off the transmission no so that's our now and it stopped he pulled the clip so once that broke he just pulled the whole bushing out alone yeah we don't have a torque bounce on it either so it's like so the motor moves hey that was so good that new trainees working for taking that home with you it's all yours thank you so far Integra pieces of the Integra Pistons here even drop all this dude thank you it's great talkers suit yeah I was just gonna use my brakes apart I need a 13 socket to Center head studs and have to come out because we're using a LS head so I have to use these two middle bolts oh for the center i was wondering like what the book although although man these are very easy launch so you infect your thumb in the middle try to launch with yeah shot with a couple across my garage are you like doing a bathroom some safe place clean room clean room yeah yeah once those fling they're gone they're gone whether you build rings and another beat to that is what is you guys about to jb weld out one and rocket i was gonna I didn't even show that look at this one the one that got all beat up they tried to put a coke can on there and then put JV while I folded it three times in my own defense and I end I was gonna pull the rockers and not just to try to get her out of it and not run any air in the hole just just to keep that out there so yeah total Ridge broken right here so I've removed this engine mount I'm gonna bolt the tensioner right here I'm gonna try to do a job yeah got the non-vtec head back on his own all right so brand everyone right now are trying to get the Integra back together with the factory head that came with the car and this right here was the cause of the problem this is the bolt that holds the timing belt tensioner down it completely snapped on us we just now found that out and yeah that guy right there is what caused all of our problems as you guys saw earlier the piston was completely trashed piston hit the valve had broke off inside the cylinder and just completely trashed number two but yeah really unfortunate guys but is what it is we threw this thing together in hardly any time at all so not really that surprised but we're still having a great time I got a whole bunch of more signatures on the car I've been finishing editing up the last video for today so gonna try to use some more footage right now they're doing a burnout contest so I want to get some of that as well but yeah we're still having a great time we're gonna try to get it running for the demo drags and we'll see if Brent could get something figured out for that time belt all right so what do we have going on here so what we did was we remove the tension Hampton yellow we put a temple limiter behind it I'm going to use two ARP washers and then we're gonna steal the front tension off the mark SP tuning is letting us take the front timing belt tensioner off there Integra just to help us get the demolition tegi up and going because the timing visible yeah the bolts snapped in there so we can't use the timing tensioner in the factory location anymore so we're going to just make it work somehow that looks pretty good pretty tight dude the people that have never been to a drag strip to a drag strip and have a good time and smile and laugh and get interested in sports at all of us and creativity these modest inspiring so thank you very much but along those lines remember this is all about fun we are now to know anybody that's why we do this for a trophy instead of 10,000 win another bracket racing you know it's all about fun so so remember that no hitting in the driver's door period then we relocated in there added this tensioner and then put a 8 millimeter on a long 10 for the extra slack just so we're not running a motor mount but we got a torque mount so that's some engineering right there millimeter with a long pen that's and this is off the SP tuning car can we just move this up to get it to wedges oh my gosh hi Ricky I think you're standing on the ultra grey down there hey Frank get that thing running you want to do the honors I mean you're the one busting ass you're the one battery battery positive on the battery positive energy everybody good vibes good bags everyone puke you'll see who's on believable I boot can't even believe I made that pass to do a striptease I looked over it well I came over right before you got started and I saw the crowd go insane oh it almost made it worth it is like yeah bro ome intimated at work today experience for the people who were here who got to see you guys go from like a disaster to that as overcoming this group can overcome we didn't give up was pretty bad to the head was pretty bad pretty wild dude like the most easy killing a bank is like oh what he said it was you know that you know a lot of enemies right we don't want to leave anybody for ourselves and we just want to have to do what we want to do you know have fun the spectators whatever they want and that's all we do with our chance calling off man it was fun dude the support like all the people that was helping like we needed something that like you know it was good everybody was done with yeah my house the Saturn looking I didn't even see the aftermath on the Saturn did the plastic hold up the plastics all like shattered and I did it like shred it weird didn't hold up like you thought it was going to but then dude just shredded but I thought it did well I found out then yeah I'm glad I got that run with you yeah I was a good one who does it get on cuz of the same size car same weight and everything I know you just pitted me into the wall the whole way down like right here cause like I want to do a Burnout across the title game oh that's great actually oh it worked out so good definite it's a great event everybody likes this fantasy till we got here oh yeah Toro we ate thanks for the push man all right guys when we're getting out of here but the old vtec head is gonna go to a good home we're giving it to Jake here he asked for it we're giving her away we all signed it and she's gonna live her life sitting on a shelf and you hang on to that thing maybe he'll be worth something one day come on I want to check out the carnage one last time before she's off and flipper over oh yeah do that whole is just done rest in peace hell puff yeah man take your care of it hope you enjoy it no problem man thanks for coming out how to blasts well guys it's the next morning we are getting ready to head out of Florida the Integra's back here behind me we have it over at Ricky's house right now Amelio is not coming back to Colorado with us today he is staying down here to hang out with some family because he is originally from Florida but Emilio and Ron are going to figure out what to do with the integra we are going to keep it down here we just have to find a spot to store it and we do plan on coming back fixing her up and trying to do it all over again so unfortunately that timing belt tensioner snapped and just completely destroyed the engine like the cylinder head was trashed and that one piston was completely done but uh we were able to get it rebuilt and the guys killed it Brent everybody just did a great job getting the car back together gave everybody over at the event a show to watch unfortunately it did and the way that it did but we did make one pass at the very end we were able to get her running I did beat Cooper and it actually had the highest trap of the night which was 88 miles an hour so the one run that it did make it we were able to win it but overall it was just about having fun and that's exactly what we did we got to meet the guys from SP tuning we had a great time with them bunch of awesome dudes we got to hang out with Cletus and Cooper and Kyle from 13:20 video and it was just an awesome experience to come out here we love coming out to Florida we always have a great time and we can't wait to make it back out here but we are getting ready to head to the airport to
