Element Gaming Beryllium Keyboard Review
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is the element gaming beryllium keyboard featuring mechanical switches and backlit lighting this is a keyboard aimed at gamers but it's also a very budget keyboard and thus it's aimed at gamers on a budget so then is this cheap and cheerful or just cheap over the last three weeks I found out hey what's up guys and welcome back to another keyboard review today we're looking at the element 4 ilium and yes I've never heard of Element gaming either before but maybe we should have this is a budget-friendly brand and this keyboard is fully mechanical and it's available for about 60 pounds here in the UK which is great because that's definitely the lower end of the market there are some that sort of approach that sort of price point but this is definitely one of the cheapest on the market and it's a very nice design and straightaway while it doesn't feel as premium as some of the other keyboards I've tested it still stands up very very well it's mainly plastic but you've got a sort of metal finish on the top as well we've got a few comforts like a mute button and a scroll wheel but these really don't feel as premium as they do on the Corsair k70 but that is three or two times the price depending on the model you've going for you do get detachable wrist rest and while this does detach again a little bit cheaply it's actually really nicely well made and does a good job of keeping your wrist rested to adjust the keyboard underneath you've got a switch that you can switch and when you switch it it rises or lowers like all keyboards but this does it very nicely there's nothing to complain about here and while the underside goes with a blue finish which arguably does look good it does feel a little bit cheap they haven't skipped out on the braided cable though because this USB cable comes fully braided and looks very very good in the box you also find some replacement key caps as well as a key cap removal tool the keep tapes themselves are adequate they aren't the best of ever use but can't really complain about the key caps themselves but underneath this is the main thing you all find a rare mechanical switch but this is kind of misleading and to be honest it's no one's fault it's just the way it is but these are not cherry MX Reds so these while they do have similar characteristics this keyboard does not behave like a cherry MX red switch it's similar but it's not the same and that's just the overall experience I kind of have using this keyboard it's not as good as if it did use cherry MX red switches it's a very good looking keyboard and it's a full-size keyboard as well so if you look at some of its competition a lot of them are ten keyless keyboards so you're getting a lot here for your money but ultimately the typing and gaming experience isn't quite as good as if it used a cherry MX red switch at least in my experience but this is a more budget-friendly keyboard so that shouldn't really matter right well here's the thing I got on well typing on the keyboard I don't really have too much to complain about there the benefits of a mechanical keyboard over a membrane keyboard is that it just feels nicer to type on and you've got a lower activation force and things like that but personally I think a mechanical keyboard is a premium product and this just simply doesn't feel like a premium product when you're typing on it this is also made worse by the fact that the space bar I'm not sure whether it happened when I removed it and put it back but it just doesn't seem to function properly and as you can see here it wobbles from left to right and when playing battlefield 4 this was so infuriating not only that but the C key has also developed a full and is now sadly stopped working and it's a shame because my overall experience has just been hampered by the fact that the key switches themselves just don't feel that great despite some really nice features and so ultimately I'm afraid to say I've come away disappointed and it's such a shame because this does so many things right it's got a nice design it doesn't really feel too of cheap but ultimately spongy keys and a slightly broken space bar and a broken C key just all that up to experience that wasn't really that good and especially when you compare it to the competition you've got the master quick 5tk available for more or less the same price slightly more if you go for the red slightly less if you go for the blues and I would disappoint pretty much everyone in the direction of that keyboard because it really does blow this keyboard away and ultimately I'm afraid I'm gonna have to leave it on the bench thank you so much for you guys for checking out this review though thank you to be buyer and element gaming for getting there's a review sample out as always subscribe for more videos like this like this video if you liked it dislike if you didn't and if you do want to see more keyboard reviews I've got plenty
