**The Xiaomi 14 Ultra: A Potential Top Contender for Phone of the Year**

As I'm writing this review, I have to say that I'm absolutely loving my new phone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a major major major go – I love this phone and it could easily be my daily driver any day of the week. In fact, at the end of the year when I do my Phone of the Year Awards, I'm confident that this phone will be in my top five, and possibly even number one.

The competition is fierce, however. The Samsung Galaxy series has always been a strong contender, and this year's model is no exception. The Oppo Find X5 Pro is another top-notch flagship, with its curved display being a major selling point for many users. But when it comes to cameras, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is hard to beat. I've had the chance to try out both the Chinese version and the global version of this phone, and I can confidently say that they're two of the best camera phones available right now.

One feature that's been getting a lot of attention lately is the foggy camera lenses issue. I'm happy to report that I haven't experienced any problems with my 14 Ultra, but I did have an issue with my regular 14 model. After doing some research online, I discovered that this was a common problem with the lens on that particular model. But rest assured, the 14 Ultra and 14 Pro models do not have this issue.

one is going to run you around 1,000 bucks now if you're a little techsavvy since this is a xiaomi phone with a global version available you could buy the Chinese version save some money and Flash the global ROM now there's some upsides and downsides to doing that the upside is you're getting a bigger battery okay 5,300 milliamps versus 5,000 milliamps and you're going to save some money but the downside is with the Chinese version you're going to lose some of the Bands so it depends on what region you in what carrier you got you got to think about that all right so let's get right into this first things first shout out to White Shoes back in the building I Love My White SHO I Love My White Shoes calm down okay xiaomi 14 Ultra now this one does come in four different colors you got white black blue and the titanium now I promised y'all I was going to get the titanium version but after using these two for over two weeks I decided to pass on that and I'm going to tell you why in a minute now before I even unbox this let me answer the main question that people want to know you got a brand new xiaomi 13 Ultra okay in great condition no scratches everything works should you upgrade and get the 14 Ultra and my advice would be no okay not at all now there's some upgrades with the camera but it's going to be like buying the same phone twice okay so I would highly recommend keeping your 13 Ultra if you got one and it's in great condition because you're not going to notice too many differences and I'll show you the difference in the camera in a second so let's get this one out the way all right so quick unboxing now for the global version same thing you're going to get your Sim injection tool it does come with a little clear case usual books and plug them and file them now it's not the fanciest case but Samsung I'll take a case in the Box nevertheless now this has been my daily driver for the last couple of weeks uh last couple of weeks last couple of days maybe about what 12 days I had this this is my daily driver right here okay let's see what else you get in the Box okay I read all of the comments everybody been waiting for me to say this all week so let's all say it together you got the charger in the Box Samsung Google Apple nothing Sony Sony put the charger in the Box okay you got 90 wat fast charge put the 90 wat fast charging Brick In The Box where it belongs other than that same exact presentation as you get with the Chinese version now for the phone itself I got to be totally honest with y'all I thought I was going to like the ceramic version and I read all the comments too somebody said they did a tear down video in China and this is actually ceramic remember I said it doesn't really feel like ceramic but it said it's ceramic and glass some new kind of combination I don't like it okay I don't like it at all compared to the ceramic from the 13 Pro this is a different kind of ceramic now you still got the long jean glass on the front okay I'm sorry you still got the long jean glass but this ceramic right here this is not the same ceramic look how many fingerprints and smudges this one gets I don't like it at all and it has a it has a cheaper feel to it now granted it does make the phone feel a lot lighter than the uh 14 Ultra with the vegan leather back but I don't like this I don't like the the smudges and I don't like the lightweight kind of like it almost feels like plastic like even Samsung with their glasstic y y remember Samsung when they came out with the glasstic phones the plastic that feels like glass that even feels better than this I don't like the I don't like the feeling of the ceramic version of the 14 Ultra I don't like it but and hey it is what it is I shoes calm down so I say if you're going to get the 14 Ultra definitely go with either the black the white or the titanium gray now let me answer a quick let me just let's talk about this real quick because the main selling point on this phone is the camera everything about this phone is camera camera camera now y'all got to remember the camera is just like headphones and speakers okay it's totally subjective just like headphones and speakers everybody has different ears everybody hears things differently it's the same thing with cameras everybody has different eyes and everybody likes their pictures to look differently some people like their pictures to be more vibrant some people like their pictures to be more lifelike so there's really no way to say this is the best camera okay now on paper if we're going to get all Technical and start talking about apertures and all of this stuff on paper this is the best camera on paper but let me show you my rankings right now my number one camera phone is the Oppo Find X7 Ultra this is my favorite camera phone number two I'm going to go with the xiaomi 14 Ultra number three I'm going to go Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra number four I'm going to go Google pixel okay 8 Pro and number five believe it or not I'm going an iPhone now I know somebody's going to say what about the Vivo X100 Pro I actually sold mine okay by still got my X90 Pro I actually sold my X100 Pro and the reason I don't compare that to these other flagships that I got on the table is because the Vivo does not have a Quad HD display now when y'all watch me unbox phones and I always say What's missing from my Flagship checklist there's certain things that I can't let slide Wireless charge okay Quad HD display if I'm spending over 800 bucks for a phone it has to have everything on my Flagship checklist and the Vivo as as dope as that camera is it's missing some things from my Flagship checklist okay same thing with the realy this camera phone right here is dope I would say the Vivo X100 Pro easily could be in this lineup but like I said it's not a real Flagship it's not a pseudo Flagship it's a pseudo Flagship okay it's not a real Flagship according to my Flagship checklist now check this out this is what I mean by cameras are subjective these are my favorite camera phones right now but check this out if I got to take a portrait mode shot my lineup changes if I got to take a portrait mode shot that I'm going to post on Instagram and I'm trying to get some love it's going to be number one then it's going to be number two number three number four and number five but check this out if I got to take a video if I'm on my if I'm in my car racing and somebody pull up next to me which I got to talk about this when I do the RDA test I hope that dude tagged me some dude pulled up next to me in the Cadillac the new the new Cadillac truck the big dog es what is it um the Escalade ESV or whatever it is he B out the camera and he was like go go go and I started I rev I started going fast but then he tried to do a fly by on me all right so now if I got to pull out my camera in return and start recording my lineup changes again then it's going to be number one number two okay number three number four and number five for cameras but check this out now if I'm out at night time and I got to take a night shot I want to take a dope night shot my lineup changes again then it's going to be one two three four five you see where I'm going with this the camera is completely subjective now one more thing I'm black okay y'all can see if I if I got to take my black ass out at night and take a photo here's how it changes again one 2 3 four five now y'all seen the pixel okay if y'all seen the presentation for remember when they the launch event and and they say that this phone is it has some technology in it to make black people look less black at night it's true it's true I tested it with Amaya this is the only phone Amaya will let me take cuz a lot of black people I trying to get too racial and all that but a lot of black people at night time when we take photos we tend to look darker than we actually are now if you dark skinned like me or brown skinn you don't need to look even darker all right you're not trying to be looking like like Frederick Douglas when you taking your photo at dinner so lineup changes again you see how you see where I'm going with this it's totally subjective this is what the cameras now if it comes to allaround phones like I just need my favorite phones my lineup changes one more time one 2 3 four five just favorite phones that I'd walk around as my daily drivers now the point that I'm trying to make is these are more than just cameras okay you got to look at the big picture when you're buying your phone you got to think about battery display Biometrics software updates compatibility okay where do you live at if you what carrier you got if you on Verizon you you can't get half of these shits if you on Verizon you can get these three okay if you on bobs fishing chips and wireless don't even look at these so you know you got to look at the big picture it's more than just cameras now if you really just want the best camera get a DS get a DSLR I get a full a real digital camera and they get any phone you want but if you want a phone that has a great camera you can't go wrong with any of these you could even save some money you could get oh sorry shoes you could save some I just bust shoes in the head you could get something like the Nubia you get the realy you get the Vivo you got all these phones that you could get if you just want a great camera but like I said look at the big picture okay don't just look at the camera look at the big picture all right so I said that to say this I did all my thorough testing okay now y'all remember when I did the unboxing for the Chinese version and I showed y'all my zoom test let's take it to the zoom test one more time because remember the only phone that I was missing was the 14 Ultra now I'm not going to go through all of them again I just want to show you the top three check this out all right so just in case you're not familiar with my zoom test here's what I like to do I like to stand all the way down the block from this building right here then I like to zoom in and try to get a shot of that sign now let me show you what the sign actually looks like this is with the iPhone now this is not a zoom test I actually walked right up to that sign and took a photo like this close so this is what that sign looks like you can see this is a real you see the detail this is up close so this is how the sign is supposed to actually look now here's the Oppo you see the sign is actually it's a little bit Green in that background right there here's the Oppo looks beautiful here's the Galaxy now the Galaxy looks beautiful and it actually has a little bit of green in it but if you notice it's not as thick the words a little bit thinner but it looks cleaner it looks more AI enhanced and here's the shiai now to me I think the xiaomi looks the best when it comes to the zoom because if you actually zoom in none of them you see it looks smooth and flat in real life this is what it looks like there actually words you see it says combination stamp pipe okay but on none of these zooms you can't see any of the words on none of them and this is all 50 times Zoom you see what the Galaxy is basically smoothed out but you can actually read the sign there's no Distortion in the letters same thing with the Appo you can't read any of the words but if you zoom in the letters are nice and clean no Distortion and with the Shia me now you could actually see that there's supposed to be some letters but you can't see any same thing no Distortion with the letters so this is all subjective okay which one do you like best it's all up to you now I want to show you one more thing here's the shiai 13 Ultra and this is why I was saying you don't have to upgrade here's the shiai 13 Ultra versus the 14 Ultra you see the xiaomi 13 Ultra you see is a little bit you see you start to see a little Distortion in the letters you see where it looks like it's bleeding over now is that a big deal no let me let me say it like this would I upgrade let's get them into full view would I upgrade and spend money just to go from this to this no now if you look closely bring them at the same time it's a little bit brighter on the 14 Ultra as opposed to the 13 and when you pinch that Zoom all the way in you see how it starts looking like the letters are connected got to look closely even though that this is a great this is a great camera right here from last year it looks a teeny bit better and you see no connection in the letters but is that worth upgrading definitely not now as far as portrait mode shots I got to be totally honest with y'all I'm not the biggest fan of the portrait mode shots on the xiaomi now they look good and I'll post both of these photos so you can actually see the difference but to me they look better on the Appo look at the difference in the color red now you got to look at them when I actually post them the portrait mode shots to me look better on the Oppo the xiaomi they look good but if I had to do a portrait mode shot I rather use the Samsung okay I rather use the Oppo I rather use the pixel the iPhone like the xiaomi camera as dope as it is the portrait mode needs a little bit of help it really does now before I get into the full review I want to show yall one quick thing if you are going to buy this phone they do sell the photography kit now you can pick this up from giztop it's going to go for around 200 bucks let me grab a little unboxing knife let me see what I got today all right we got the Westside Story you know what I'm saying let's got to check this out now this one is an actual upgrade from last year's camera kit one more right and I'll show you why check this out okay so we got the xiaomi 14 Ultra photography kit if you're going to buy one of these phones you're going to invest you know 12 to ,500 or even 1,600 you might as well pick this one up too get the full effect it does come with a nice case now here's uh last year's case okay you see last year's phone had that hump on the back so this case is nice and smooth has a nice textured feel to the back let's go ahead and slap this on and see what it looks like okay if you get the blue you're going to want this case then you get rid of that that uh cheesy ceramic feel on the back it does come with the lens Rings okay okay so just in case you want to add your own ND filter or something crazy I think I probably just rock the orange why not but you can play around with all this stuff but this is the upgrade right here this now has an actual battery okay so it can power up your phone and you can use it with the phone separate so if you prop your phone up somewhere like this you can use this as a shutter button bang and take your photos now this is actually a two-stage shutter button so you press it once like halfway in it'll zoom in press again take the shot you got your Zoom wheel okay you got record matter of fact let's go ahead and slap this one on now let's see if this works like last year's version the little little lock right here locks into place okay we got the camera grip let's take it over the camera okay you see you can use the knob to zoom in and out you see you press it half press don't press it all the way you get a little zoom and then you take your shots this is kind of dope this is kind of dope oh let's let's look at that Zoom right there oh look at that look at the detail on this I mean the camera on this phone is definitely insane it really is let's see uh you got a little lanyard Loop right there and your mic uh your USB typ-c charging slot so this is going to make your phone feel like a real digital camera this is pretty epic matter of fact let's let's go and drop this on real quick now check this out the photography kit not only works with the xiaomi phone but it's also going to work with your OnePlus phone and your Oppo phone so let's go ahead and try this out so we're going to plug it into the bottom okay as you can see it's charging up let's go and lock it into place now we'll take it over to the camera and look at this we're using the actual Zoom wheel works perfectly fine and let's try to shutter look at that this is pretty sick now when I plug the camera grip back into the xiaomi phone we get the actual pitch of it you got the battery percentage for the phone and then the grip and if we go to settings okay so we got quick launch you got Auto grip connect update firmware set your grip button okay so we got single photo continueous Zoom you got your dollar effect okay we can change that to shutter and you got video button we'll do a record video and there it is all right so now for the global version of the xiaomi 14 Ultra now I'm not going to waste your time going through all of the settings everything is exactly the same except for the battery the global version is 5,000 Ms versus 5,300 with the Chinese version okay so excellent Biometrics couple of different ways you can open up you can swipe up put in your pattern in your PIN next you got face unlock look how fast that is we'll do one more now I'm not going to look at it as soon as I look over B there it is and of course you got your on screen fingerprint sensor which works unbelievably fast look at this shoes just came and kind of scared the out of me but I played it off I act like I wasn't scared you see how fast that is hyper OS is super smooth okay now of course you got your super wallpapers you see and real quick on a side note with the super wallpapers let's take it over to settings real quick okay so when you go to wallpapers for super wallpapers now this is the only thing you only get one new one you got the moon okay I think we all seen this one but I'm going and rock it anyway you got the moon okay so there's the moon that's should always on display that's your lock screen and that's your home screen okay so you got some you got um One new one new uh super wallpaper now here's the difference with the global version when you swipe over now you got your Google homepage and none of that Chinese blowi which I'll show you right now you see with the Chinese version when you swipe over you got all of these Chinese apps no Google homepage and if you notice you got a bunch of built-in a bunch of built-in apps that you're never going to use now with the global version you see this is all my apps right here and everything that I use all of my notifications everything comes in on the lock screen and always on display in beautiful vibrant colors without see look at just got look at the Instagram notification you see how it looks the actual icon Samsung this is what I want to see the actual icon of the app I love that let me get a little wipe down real quick I love the actual the actual app icon on my always on display that looks so dope now I'm going to I'm going to let this one rock for a minute and we'll see if I get some notifications and we'll see all shoes bro calm down bro damn shoes shoes out here wet all right just got to open this one up all right so let's see let's check the web browsing speeds matter of fact first you see I got Android 14 all of my Android 14 widgets oh here's another thing people been asking me if you get the global version is it going to work in the USA now I want to show youall something real quick I took this earlier up upstairs okay this is just my phone upstairs you see March March 14th at 420 I'm on AT&T with five five 5G and all my bars okay so let's just um just to just to show and prove because I don't like to really talk about it I like to actually be about it let's um do a a quick message okay let's um matter of fact let me pick up the Trap phone I about to use my I'm about to use my real number let's use the the Trap phone I'm going to call up the the xiaomi from the trap phone okay so we're going to let this one ring just to let you know you see now my number's popping up but this is the Trap number so it is with let's hang up on that one okay that's that and I'll do a quick text message okay let's go to messages I hit up the your okay I'mma send a little message okay you see I just got a text message and you see comes with the actual you see you're okay but the the aod has the actual text icon I love that okay now I want to show yall one more matter of fact you get the idea let let me turn off this voice too okay pause that you get the idea if you live in the USA okay and you got at you're going to get 5G with the uh Global version no issues now it's going to work on T-Mobile also I can't check every carrier because I don't have every carrier now if you got Verizon okay you're going to be asked out if you still one of the last ogs with Sprint you can forget about that too but T-Mobile and AT&T guaranteed to work guaranteed to get five bars okay let's check the web browsing speeds go to apple.com okay now this is the full website 120 HZ refresh rate 3,000 nits brightness this phone is an absolute Beast okay it's an absolute Beast let's see I I'll leave that one upside down scumbag mode you also got your floating windows okay so matter of fact we could do split screen multitasking we'll do let's see what was I doing okay reading some Asus articles on the bottom double tap switch it up okay so that's Apple on the top T-Mobile on the bottom now all of the apps don't work for floating windows but some of them do so if you go to Facebook Facebook will be floating windows okay okay I can have this floating the game okay what's going going on anyway how your Facebook's going to look but as you see web browsing speeds this phone is Silky Smooth buttery fast let's see how many apps I have open right now look look at this all of these apps open at the same time phone is running just as fast you open and close apps just as fast I mean it's ridiculous it's kind of ridiculous anyway web browsing speeds beautiful all right so now let's test out the Dual stereo speakers of course I got the official FL sound test by my homeboy Mark rier now on a side note y'all see when I did the unboxing you got a whole bunch of different EQ settings I got mine set to Savage mode here we goo time to test that quality the sound test how's it sound floss how's the sound FL us how's it sound now how's it sound now brightness here we go check this out this is so beautiful look at the viewing angles excellent viewing angles basically bezeless display those speakers sound great too this is daily driver material right here fellas and ladies look at that beautiful let's keep it moving all right so now let's do a little gaming and on a side note you do have a built-in game Space okay so if you swipe over when you're in your game you can open up different apps okay you can clear your memory okay you can free up storage you can boost your performance press one button just like that okay it shows you the actual frame rate you got do not disturb screenshot screen record different settings okay you got a voice changer and a timer this is pretty dope all right here we go Asphalt 9 let's try some gaming camera the camera on this phone is worth every penny of what you paying that Flagship price for and it's even worth it to buy the photography kit because it's like walking around with a dlsr camera right in your back pocket now I'm going to go to photos and videos real quick I want to show you something I just took just now off camera all right I had shoes just now look at this look at the details in these shots I mean look at that this is amazing look at this Boop look at that you're going to love this camera my only gripe would be I would like to see a better portrait mode but as you can see this is the one I've been taking all my photos with look at this I got a bunch of photos and videos okay I was going crazy matter of fact like I said the camera is truly subjective so you got to look at these pictures and videos for yourself but with the portrait mode you do have different focal lengths okay I like that you got movie mode which is a lot of fun I'm in the process of making my own movie right now I'm getting ready to go vacation so I'm making a I'm definitely making a new movie got a bunch of different shooting modes you're going to love this camera but take a look at these pictures and videos for yourself a all right now here's another clutch feature with the xiaomi1 14 Ultra you got the IR Blaster but not just any IR Blaster built into the top you got the IR Blaster built into the back of the phone so what does that mean more trolling okay even better trolling so now you don't have to be pointing the phone at your TV like this you can act like you're just using your phone okay you could be in a restaurant you could be in the gym you could be anywhere all you got to do is just act like you're using your phone go to your IR Blaster app okay you can select TV or cable box air conditioner DVD player robot vacuum whatever's on Deck but if you somewhere being clandestine you see you raise the phone like this okay not like this like this okay look at this just face the TV put in the TV brand now I was just using this up in the gym just put in LG it's going to say is your TV on or off the TV is going to be on just hit on and all you got to do is press the button now if you don't see anything on the TV hit no press the button again usually the second press you're going to see the TV have some action then you hit yes you name the TV and it's paired up so now every time I go up in my gym and they playing some and I'm trying to get my workout on all I got to do is be like Bo turn the TV off that is so dope now that's just for trolling but here's how I actually use it upstairs in my office all right so I'm sitting up in the office I just finished working now I want to turn off all of my TVs using one phone okay so let's start off with the Samsung TVs just like that another one just like that now we'll switch over to lgtv press the button just like that and now let's switch over to Sony TV press the button just like that the IR Blaster is so clutch from me this is a major go now let's talk about an underrated feature second space also known as thought protection let me show you how that works basically you're going to have to power the phone off turn it back on at first I couldn't figure out what was going on with it then I did a little research online and yeah I did have a little bit of that issue now I haven't seen it at all with my 14 pro I haven't seen it at all on either one of these 14 Ultras and as you can see for yourself if I go to camera right now no foggy cameras okay every look at that look at the detail quick side note y'all seen my unboxing for the Chinese version this one is going to run you around 1,000 bucks now if you're a little techsavvy since this is a xiaomi phone with a global version available you could buy the Chinese version save some money and Flash the global ROM now there's some upsides and downsides to doing that the upside is you're getting a bigger battery okay 5,300 milliamps versus 5,000 milliamps and you're going to save some money but the downside is with the Chinese version you're going to lose some of the Bands so it depends on what region you in what carrier you got you got to think about that all right so let's get right into this first things first shout out to White Shoes back in the building I Love My White SHO I Love My White Shoes calm down okay xiaomi 14 Ultra now this one does come in four different colors you got white black blue and the titanium now I promised y'all I was going to get the titanium version but after using these two for over two weeks I decided to pass on that and I'm going to tell you why in a minute now before I even unbox this let me answer the main question that people want to know you got a brand new xiaomi 13 Ultra okay in great condition no scratches everything works should you upgrade and get the 14 Ultra and my advice would be no okay not at all now there's some upgrades with the camera but it's going to be like buying the same phone twice okay so I would highly recommend keeping your 13 Ultra if you got one and it's in great condition because you're not going to notice too many differences and I'll show you the difference in the camera in a second so let's get this one out the way all right so quick unboxing now for the global version same thing you're going to get your Sim injection tool it does come with a little clear case usual books and plug them and file them now it's not the fanciest case but Samsung I'll take a case in the Box nevertheless now this has been my daily driver for the last couple of weeks uh last couple of weeks last couple of days maybe about what 12 days I had this this is my daily driver right here okay let's see what else you get in the Box okay I read all of the comments everybody been waiting for me to say this all week so let's all say it together you got the charger in the Box Samsung Google Apple nothing Sony Sony put the charger in the Box got to be totally honest with y'all I thought I was going to like the ceramic version and I read all the comments too somebody said they did a tear down video in China and this is actually ceramic remember I said it doesn't really feel like ceramic but it said it's ceramic and glass some new kind of combination I don't like it okay I don't like it at all compared to the ceramic from the 13 Pro this is a different kind of ceramic now you still got the long jean glass on the front okay I'm sorry you still got the long jean glass but this ceramic right here this is not the same ceramic look how many fingerprints and smudges this one gets I don't like it at all and it has a it has a cheaper feel to it now granted it does make the phone feel a lot lighter than the uh 14 Ultra with the vegan leather back but I don't like this I don't like the the smudges and I don't like the lightweight kind of like it almost feels like plastic like even Samsung with their glasstic y y remember Samsung when they came out with the glasstic phones the plastic that feels like glass that even feels better than this I don't like the I don't like the feeling of the ceramic version of the 14 Ultra I don't like it but and hey it is what it is I shoes calm down so I say if you're going to get the 14 Ultra definitely go with either the black the white or the titanium gray now let me answer a quick let me just let's talk about this real quick because the main selling point on this phone is the camera everything about this phone is camera camera camera now y'all got to remember the camera is just like headphones and speakers okay it's totally subjective just like headphones and speakers everybody has different ears everybody hears things differently it's the same thing with cameras everybody has different eyes and everybody likes their pictures to look differently some people like their pictures to be more vibrant some people like their pictures to be more lifelike so there's really no way to say this is the best camera okay now on paper if we're going to get all Technical and start talking about apertures and all of this stuff on paper this is the best camera on paper but let me show you my rankings right now my number one camera phone is the Oppo Find X7 Ultra this is my favorite camera phone number two I'm going to go with the xiaomi 14 Ultra number three I'm going to go Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra number four I'm going to go Google pixel okay 8 Pro and number five believe it or not I'm going an iPhone now I know somebody's going to say what about the Vivo X100 Pro I actually sold mine okay by still got my X90 Pro I actually sold my X100 Pro and the reason I don't compare that to these other flagships that I got on the table is because the Vivo does not have a Quad HD display now when y'all watch me unbox phones and I always say What's missing from my Flagship checklist there's certain things that I can't let slide Wireless charge okay Quad HD display if I'm spending over 800 bucks for a phone it has to have everything on my Flagship checklist and the Vivo as as dope as that camera is it's missing some things from my Flagship checklist okay same thing with the realy this camera phone right here is dope I would say the Vivo X100 Pro easily could be in this lineup but like I said it's not a real Flagship it's not a pseudo Flagship it's a pseudo Flagship okay it's not a real Flagship according to my Flagship checklist now check this out this is what I mean by cameras are subjective these are my favorite camera phones right now but check this out if I got to take a portrait mode shot my lineup changes if I got to take a portrait mode shot that I'm going to post on Instagram and I'm trying to get some love it's going to be number one then taking your photo at dinner so lineup changes again you see how you see where I'm going with this it's totally subjective this is what the cameras now if it comes to allaround phones like I just need my favorite phones my lineup changes one more time one 2 3 four five just favorite phones that I'd walk around as my daily drivers now the point that I'm trying to make is these are more than just cameras okay you got to look at the big picture when you're buying your phone you got to think about battery display Biometrics software updates compatibility okay where do you live at if you what carrier you got if you on Verizon you you can't get half of these shits if you on Verizon you can get these three okay if you on bobs fishing chips and wireless don't even look at these so you know you got to look at the big picture it's more than just cameras now if you really just want the best camera get a DS get a DSLR I get a full a real digital camera and they get any phone you want but if you want a phone that has a great camera you can't go wrong with any of these you could even save some money you could get oh sorry shoes you could save some I just bust shoes in the head you could get something like the Nubia you get the realy you get the Vivo you got all these phones that you could get if you just want a great camera but like I said look at the big picture okay don't just look at the camera look at the big picture all right so I said that to say this I did all my thorough testing okay now y'all remember when I did the unboxing for the Chinese version and I showed y'all my zoom test let's take it to the zoom test one more time because remember the only phone that I was missing was the 14 Ultra now I'm not going to go through all of them again I just want to show you the top three check this out all right so just in case you're not familiar with my zoom test here's what I like to do I like to stand all the way down the block from this building right here then I like to zoom in and try to get a shot of that sign now let me show you what the sign actually looks like this is with the iPhone now this is not a zoom test I actually walked right up to that sign and took a photo like this close so this is what that sign looks like you can see this is a real you see the detail this is up close so this is how the sign is supposed to actually look now here's the Oppo you see the sign is actually it's a little bit Green in that background right there here's the Oppo looks beautiful here's the Galaxy now the Galaxy looks beautiful and it actually has a little bit of green in it but if you notice it's not as thick the words a little bit thinner but it looks cleaner it looks more AI enhanced and here's the shiai now to me I think the xiaomi looks the best when it comes to the zoom because if you actually zoom in none of them you see it looks smooth and flat in real life this is what it looks like there actually words you see it says combination stamp pipe okay but on none of these zooms you can't see any of the words on none of them and this is all 50 times Zoom you see what the Galaxy is basically smoothed out but you can actually read the sign there's no Distortion in the letters same thing with the Appo you can't read any of the words but if you zoom in the letters are nice and clean no Distortion and with the Shia me now you could actually see that there's supposed to be some letters but you can't see any same thing no Distortion with the letters so this is all subjective okay which one do you like best it's all up to you now I want to show you one more thing here's the shiai 13 Ultra and this is why I was saying you don't have to upgrade here's the shiai 13 Ultra versus the 14 Ultra you see the xiaomi 13 Ultra you see is a little bit you see you start to see a little Distortion in the letters you see where it looks like it's bleeding over now is that a big deal no let me let me say it like this would I upgrade let's get them into full view would I upgrade and spend money just to go from this to this no now if you look closely bring them at the same time it's a little bit brighter on the 14 Ultra as opposed to the 13 and when you pinch that Zoom all the way in you see how it starts looking like the letters are connected got to look closely even though that this is a great this is a great camera right here from last year it looks a teeny bit better and you see no connection in the letters but is that worth upgrading definitely not now as far as portrait mode shots I got to be totally honest with y'all I'm not the biggest fan of the portrait mode shots on the xiaomi now they look good and I'll post both of these photos so you can actually see the difference but to me they look better on the Appo look at the difference in the color red now you got to look at them when I actually post them the portrait mode shots to me look better on the Oppo the xiaomi they look good but if I had to do a portrait mode shot I rather use the Samsung okay I rather use the Oppo I rather use the pixel the iPhone like the xiaomi camera as dope as it is the portrait mode needs a little bit of help it really does now before I get into the full review I want to show yall one quick thing if you are going to buy this phone they do sell the photography kit now you can pick this up from giztop it's going to go for around 200 bucks let me grab a little unboxing knife let me see what I got today all right we got the Westside Story you know what I'm saying let's got to check this out now this one is an actual upgrade from last year's camera kit one more right and I'll show you why check this out okay so we got the xiaomi 14 Ultra photography kit if you're going to buy one of these phones you're going to invest you know 12 to ,500 or even 1,600 you might as well pick this one up too get the full effect it does come with a nice case now here's uh last year's case okay you see last year's phone had that hump on the back so this case is nice and smooth has a nice textured feel to the back let's go ahead and slap this on and see what it looks like okay if you get the blue you're going to want this case then you get rid of that that uh cheesy ceramic feel on the back it does come with the lens Rings okay okay so just in case you want to add your own ND filter or something crazy I think I probably just rock the orange why not but you can play around with all this stuff but this is the upgrade right here this now has an actual battery okay so it can power up your phone and you can use it with the phone separate so if you prop your phone up somewhere like this you can use this as a shutter button bang and take your photos now this is actually a two-stage shutter button so you press it once like halfway in it'll zoom in press again take the shot you got your Zoom wheel okay you got record matter of fact let's go ahead and slap this one on now let's see if this works like last year's version the little little lock right here locks into place okay we got the camera grip let's take it over the camera okay you see you can use the knob to zoom in and out you see you press it half press don't press it all the way you get a little zoom and then you take your shots this is kind of dope this is kind of dope oh let's let's look at that Zoom right there oh look at that look at the detail on this I mean the camera on this phone is definitely insane it really is let's see uh you got a little lanyard Loop right there and your mic uh your USB typ-c charging slot so this is going to make your phone feel like a real digital camera this is pretty epic matter of fact let's let's go and drop this on real quick now check this out the photography kit not only works with the xiaomi phone but it's also going to work with your OnePlus phone and your Oppo phone so let's go ahead and try this out so we're going to plug it into the bottom okay as you can see it's charging up let's go and lock it into place now we'll take it over to the camera and look at this we're using the actual Zoom wheel works perfectly fine and let's try to shutter look at that this is pretty sick now when I plug the camera grip back into the xiaomi phone we get the actual pitch of it you got the battery percentage for the phone and then the grip and if we go to settings okay so we got quick launch you got Auto grip connect update firmware set your grip button okay so we got single photo continueous Zoom you got your dollar effect okay we can change that to shutter and you got video button we'll do a record video and there it is all right so now for the global version of the xiaomi 14 Ultra now I'm not going to waste your time going through all of the settings everything is exactly the same except for the battery the global version is 5,000 Ms versus 5,300 with the Chinese version okay so excellent Biometrics couple of different ways you can open up you can swipe up put in your pattern in your PIN next you got face unlock look how fast that is we'll do one more now I'm not going to look at it as soon as I look over B there it is and of course you got your on screen fingerprint sensor which works unbelievably fast look at this shoes just came and kind of scared the out of me but I played it off I act like I wasn't scared you see how fast that is hyper OS is super smooth okay now of course you got your super wallpapers you see and real quick on a side note with the super wallpapers let's take it over to settings real quick okay so when you go to wallpapers for super wallpapers now this is the only thing you only get one new one you got the moon okay I think we all seen this one but I'm going and rock it anyway you got the moon okay so there's the moon that's should always on display that's your lock screen and that's your home screen okay so you got some you got um One new one new uh super wallpaper now here's the difference with the global version when you swipe over now you got your Google homepage and none of that Chinese blowi which I'll show you right now you see with the Chinese version when you swipe over you got all of these Chinese apps no Google homepage and if you notice you got a bunch of built-in a bunch of built-in apps that you're never going to use now with the global version you see this is all my apps right here and everything that I use all of my notifications everything comes in on the lock screen and always on display in beautiful vibrant colors without see look at just got look at the Instagram notification you see how it looks the actual display with that same camera that's going to be up in the Runnings we got to see what's up with the Google 9 so we got a few phones left but I can guarantee you this is going to be in my top five and cameras with Quad HD displays now when Vivo drops the X100 Pro Plus that's going to be right up there in the mix and the Google 9 I'm pretty sure is going to be in the mix too so we got five dope thing a lot of people was asking me what about the foggy camera lenses now I got the 14 Ultras I got two of these I got the 14 pro and the regular 14 the only time seen that issue was with my regular 14 The lenses was a little bit foggy and I had to power the phone off turn it back on at first I couldn't figure out what was going on with it then I did a little research online and yeah I did have a little bit of that issue now I haven't seen it at all with my 14 pro I haven't seen it at all on either one of these 14 Ultras and as you can see for yourself if I go to camera right now no foggy cameras okay every look at that look at the detail on that everything looks beautiful Bro Look at that macro you could actually see the woven pad in on that look at that no foggy lenses at all
