I'm Gonna See if My Husband Can Set This Up for Me Next
As I sit here with my husband, we're getting ready to receive our latest OwlCrate box. We've been fans of this subscription service for a while now, and each month brings new excitement and surprises. Today, we'll be unwrapping the contents of this month's box and seeing what treats are in store.
Oh This is These Are Really Pretty
I'm picking up on these beautiful flower cards that Eleanor told us about. She was struggling to pronounce them, but they're definitely pretty. There are two types featured: heather and a different type of flower that I couldn't quite identify. Heather is a lovely choice because it's a well-known flower, and I can see why this would be a favorite for some people.
Maybe These Are Really Pretty
Eleanor thought these were really pretty too, even though she was having trouble with the names. She mentioned that there are several different types of flowers featured in these cards, including some Middle Earth-inspired designs. The tokens included are middle earth plants and vintage-style prints, which adds to their charm.
I Really Enjoy These Actually
It seems like my favorite thing about this box is actually these beautiful flower cards. They're so pretty and delicate, and I can see myself displaying them or using them for crafting projects. There's something special about the attention to detail that goes into each card, from the illustrations to the paper quality.
Oh This is Like a Little Card for Tales of the Hindernerland by Melissa Albert
Next up, we have this lovely little card featuring quotes and phrases from various books. One of the cards is specifically designed for "Tales of the Hindernerland" by Melissa Albert, which caught my eye immediately. I love that this box includes these special touches, like a unique card for each book.
Our Reading Planner
We also received our annual reading planner from Blue Star Press, and I have to admit that I'm not typically one who uses planners in the same way as others do. However, this one seems perfect for readers who want to keep track of their progress throughout the year. The features include a weekly planner, book reviews, favorite quotes, monthly wrap-ups, a TBR list, and a book wish list.
I Think This is Perfect
The idea behind this planner is really cool – it's tailored specifically to help readers stay on top of their reading goals and keep track of what they've read. I do have to admit that I'm not one for keeping up with these kinds of lists, but seeing how organized and comprehensive this planner is makes me want to give it a try.
Our Little Pin
Next up, we have our little pin for the month! This year's design features a bear holding a flower for an eye, which is adorable. The color scheme is bright and cheerful, making it perfect for adding a pop of personality to any outfit or bag.
Book of the Month: Among the Beasts and Briars
This month's book is "Among the Beasts and Briars" by Ashley Poston. I'm excited to dive into this fantasy novel, especially since we've heard great things about Ashley Poston's work. The exclusive cover art on the box is stunning, with a beautiful illustration of the story's setting. The reverse dust jacket features illustrations of polar bears and other creatures from the book, which are just as captivating.
A Dark Romantic Fairy Tale
According to the box, this book is a dark romantic fairy tale that will transport readers to far-off places, filled with daring sword fights, magic spells, and a prince in disguise. The description sounds intriguing, especially since I'm always up for a good fantasy novel.
Birth Moth Flower Guide
Inside the box, we also found a birth moth flower guide, which features beautiful illustrations of various flowers that correspond to different months of the year. Mine is aster, which represents wisdom – and my husband's is daisy, representing hope. It's lovely to see how these special connections can bring meaning to everyday things.
The Last Thing You're Getting
Finally, we have a pamphlet with all sorts of fun facts and tidbits about our book choices for the year. The author explains how each selection was chosen, and I found it fascinating to learn more about the process behind selecting books for OwlCrate subscribers.
Missing an Item
Unfortunately, it seems like there's been a mistake – we didn't receive the stickers that were supposed to be included with this month's planner. While I'm a bit bummed about this oversight, I'm determined not to let it dampen my enthusiasm for the rest of the box.
Not Every Month is a Hit
As always, I want to be upfront and honest – not every OwlCrate box is going to resonate with me. However, that's what makes this subscription service so wonderful – there's always something new to look forward to, even if it means trying out things that might not become favorites right away.
Supporting the Box
Despite my mixed feelings about this particular box, I'm still excited to continue supporting OwlCrate and seeing where next month's subscription takes me. The anticipation of unwrapping each box is always thrilling, and I know that there will be plenty more wonderful surprises in store for us down the line.
As we close out this chapter, I have to say that I've grown quite fond of these beautiful flower cards. Whether you're a fan of fantasy novels or just appreciate unique stationery, it's clear that OwlCrate has put thought and care into each element of their subscription boxes.
