**The Born VZ: A Fun and Aggressive Electric Car**
We recently had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Volkswagen ID.4 VZ, an electric car that promises to deliver fun and performance. Our first impression was one of excitement and anticipation, as we prepared for a drive with the ESC system turned off.
As we settled into the driver's seat, we noticed that the car had been adjusted to accommodate our driving position. The seats were comfortable and supportive, with a nice firmness that provided good grip on long drives. We also appreciated the smooth and quiet ride, which made for an enjoyable drive even in heavy traffic.
As we started the car, we noticed that the throttle mapping was quite aggressive. If we hit the gas pedal and had the wheels turned, it would deliver full power to the rear axle, creating a fun and playful driving experience. This level of responsiveness and engagement was a welcome change from our previous experiences with electric cars, which often prioritize efficiency over driveability.
We were also impressed by the car's performance, particularly when it came to braking. The regenerative braking system worked seamlessly, providing a smooth and gentle deceleration that made for a safe and comfortable ride. We found that the car was capable of impressive acceleration, with 0-100 km/h claimed in just 5.6 seconds.
One of the things that really stood out about the Born VZ was its handling and agility. The car felt surprisingly quick and responsive, even when cornering or navigating twisty roads. This was partly due to the rear axle design, which provided a more balanced driving experience than some of our other electric car tests. We also appreciated the fact that the car didn't feel too high or narrow, making it easy to get in and out of.
As we continued to drive the Born VZ, we found ourselves grinning from ear to ear. The car was just so much fun to drive, with its engaging throttle mapping and responsive handling. We were particularly impressed by how quickly the car rotated on the rear axle when cornering or driving uphill, making it feel like a purpose-built electric car.
The Born VZ is also notable for being one of the most aggressive and playful electric cars we've had the pleasure of testing. It's clear that Volkswagen has taken a bold approach to designing this car, prioritizing fun and performance over efficiency and practicality. While this may not be to everyone's taste, it's certainly an interesting approach that sets the Born VZ apart from more conventional electric cars.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed by the Volkswagen ID.4 VZ. It's a fun, engaging, and well-designed car that's sure to appeal to anyone looking for a driving experience that's a little bit different. We can't wait to see how it stacks up against other electric cars in our tests, but for now, we're just happy to have had the chance to drive such an exciting car.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this POV review by o toel my name is Martin and today I am in Spain near Barcelona very quiet Road here and we have the new cpra born VZ so we used to know cpra as a performance label it's now their own brand so cpra stands for Cup racing and VZ is their new performance l so we've already done the VZ 5 the VZ 310 of the formentor you've seen the tavascan VZ and now we have this the cpra born VZ so that's over 300 horsepower in sort of a hatchback does that make it a h hatch could be hm we're going to discover is this replacing the H hatch I think that's the best question so we used to have like 10 years ago many hot hatches that for a lot of fun on uh well roads like these and this is sort of replacing it I think so cpra really promises to have driving fun and driving emotion in this car uh we just had a presentation and it's all about you know driving involvement and that's what they are really keen on so we have these rather funky looking wheels so these are forged 20-in wheels which means means they're 12 kilos lighter so that's 3 kilos a wheel lighter than their normal 20in wheel on a regular car not a VZ labeled car so we have two 35 section Potenza sport bridgeston in the front on the front axle we have like a 120 horsepower electric motor on the rear axle we have a 285 we cannot just combine them and claim to have that power so the total amount is 326 horsepower and 545 Newton M so that should be enough to have fun I guess 2 352s all round there we have the little VZ badge indicating this is you know he is also having fun uh indicating that this is the the high performance version and uh should do like 5.6 seconds well not like it should do 5.6 seconds to 100 and it can definitely do that it can do it even a bit quicker but I'll show you in a minute it's not really a sexy looking car right they've done their you know branding with all the copper details and making it look a bit junkier with you know little skirts and diffusers and stuff like that like this little winglet on the side little diffuser like rear bumper that's really not functional uh what they have done is fit for the VZ these seats so these are sabled seats as you can see uh and they do really make a difference but when you get in it you feel that they are really supportive but I'm 187 um the steering column it's a bit of a problem uh it is adjustable but only in the wrong direction which is uh sort of downwards so I really wanted it to be a bit more upwards and towards me because this is right on the limit of what I think is a uh decent driving position for a hot hatch or a driving inspired car all right so let's get going oh it's not fixed yet there we go so let's see if we can have some fun that's the only thing we sort of should measure can I have fun with this car so in order to have fun we're going to engage fun mode which means all the stupid Systems off uh let's turn ESC all the way off yes driver alerts don't need those everything that you know sounds Nish we're going to disengage like that so you need like 10 minutes before you can really go for a drive nah I'm just kidding so you have various driving modes the one we're interested in is this the cpra mode uh and that's basically it so let's see if I can have fun that should should not be hard to discover right do we have some fancy Telemetry I don't think so now we're just going to get going oh we definitely have to adjust our driving position like that okay there we go the born VZ now I always like what KOA does with the VW product they sort of they sort of give it this Edge to it that VW sort of never does oh wow it's uh that's really aggressive oo that's not too bad really wow it's very happy to turn in very happy which wow it sort of has this super aggressive throttle mapping so if you hit it and you have the wheels turned it just gives it full power instead of you know but you know it does make it fun it is a bit brutal but if it's fun it's good right I think that should be the base rule for any car wow I mean coming from the tavascan VZ I just drove and now this this is worthy of the cpra promise I thought the T gun really wasn't but this it is a very Lively and happy vehicle really you do feel that it's a bit high up and narrow if you look at the car it also has that sort of Dimensions but when you drive it you do feel it's a bit too high but it is it is quite good actually a little frisky car wow it's a happy car really it is it is super happy to do this break feel is so much better than with the tasan E to really the tasan had this problem of you know having brake feel at all and then you had the regenerative braking making it even worse this really doesn't have that so I'm really happy about that power really nice powerful enough so 0 to 100 claimed 5.6 seconds I actually did a 5.2 on my first Ry so it's uh a bit quicker than what they claim but it's it's it's sort of weird that it's that aggressive on throttle it does make it fun I have to say I don't think we can really push it on power but it is impressive what they've done really it's a bit under Ste at first and then it sort of delivers and performs but I like like the the edgy aggressive turning that's that's really really good let's do that again I think that was really nice actually but it felt like it was a bit of a downhill so when you do uphill you get more in terms of you know pushing the car now you can definitely tell there's more going on with the rear axle you don't have the the downhill pushing on the front axle so it's more of a rear wheel drive focused car because you have that bigger electric engine on the rear axle so oh yes now you can feel it rotate in a over steery way instead of an under steery way honestly I didn't I didn't expect this but the born VZ is a fun car so mission accomplished CA definitely I thought they sort of lost it when I drove the testan but they definitely haven't this is this is what an electric what hat should be like they've done an amazing job really we've driven the mgx power something which was just fast and that was it this is also fun to drive power isn't everything you can get a lot of power from an electric car but it isn't everything and this definitely shows us what it can also be wow really really is a very nice car to drive really I've driven the normal cpra born which I really didn't care about not even slightly but this VZ version definitely changes all that for me I think this is a very funky little car uh it's not even that little but I think it's a good car it's a fun car I like it stamp of approval you only need a few components to make a car fun you need good seats like these good brakes a good tire and a decent chassis and then you know you've done 80 or 90% of what you should do so yeah this car definitely has all that and I do really like it I've driven combustion powered old hatches that were less fun than this and I think that's a bit of a statement right so thank you guys for watching hope to see you at the next video and and please subscribe to our Channel if you haven't yet go check
