**A Day in the Life of a New Mom: Reflections and Observations**

As I sit here with my baby boy Carter, I often find myself reflecting on our daily life together. One thing that has become a cherished ritual for me is writing one line a day in this book, "Mom's One Line a Day." It started when Carter was born, and I wanted to document every moment of his life, no matter how small it may seem. With the help of my husband Ryan, we decided to pick a random day to reflect on our experience so far. We're currently at January 24th, a day that stands out in my mind as particularly challenging.

January 24th was a rough night for both of us. Carter had a meltdown, and I had a breakdown. Breastfeeding wasn't going as smoothly as I had hoped, and he cried nonstop while I tried to soothe him. Despite the exhaustion and frustration, we eventually got through the day, but it left me feeling drained. Looking back, I wish I could give myself a hug and say, "It's going to be okay." But life with a newborn is full of unexpected challenges, and I'm grateful that things have gotten better.

One of the lighter moments from our early days together was when Ryan started becoming a landscaping snob. He would walk around the neighborhood critiquing the front lawns of our neighbors, pointing out the types of trees and the quality of mulch. It was amusing to watch him go from a relaxed guy to a serious landscape expert in an instant. While I couldn't help but laugh at his newfound passion, I also appreciated the opportunity for him to engage with nature and connect with our community.

As I sit here with my tea, I find myself reflecting on how much life has changed since Carter's arrival. Our days are no longer just about me; they're about us as a family, navigating this new reality together. Ryan is doing an amazing job of caring for our little one, and I'm grateful to have him by my side.

Speaking of tea, I'm passionate about making the perfect cup. For me, there's nothing like a good cup of chai to start the day or calm down in the afternoon. My go-to recipe involves using filtered water, which is essential for bringing out the flavors in the tea. is amazing I need to show you guys that now you know you guys wow huge thank you to my uncle Allen who drew this he's an artist on the side and he's so talented oh my gosh this is amazing he made it to Hobby Lobby it's only my second time coming here and we talked about all these pumpkins beginning to do a pumpkin display on the dining room table literally insane the amount of fall decor they have I'm like overwhelmed with choices they even have baby clothes in a fall theme so what I'm thinking is to make kind of a fall harvest table scape so put some pumpkins some leaves some kind of a pretty runner there is an entire aisle of just fall garlands like how do I even decide we have quite the fall haul going the cue of mind everything is 40% off and the prices are really good as it is way better than even home goods so I'm pretty excited ok we're home now with my big haul but instead of showing you as a haul I thought I would just show it in action as I'm decorating there you go can you just hit that on there good job wow you're so good at that I knew a little musician good job do you see how he's doing this with his left hand I think that he's a lefty like his mom I think we with a cup of tea I was going to test out a couple new makeup products that I got actually just one you make a product and that is the door air flash foundation I've been wanting to try this for years I hope the color is right I hope she 201 which is the second lightest shade because your girl's pale okay alright okay I just breathe that in okay the color the color looks good it's emphasizing my pores right here when you're finished putting this on okay okay I will say this now that it's settled in I like it a little bit more how does my foundation look today I'm wearing a new foundation looks good okay it's not Kiki oh hey we hit a nerve we hit a nerve he told this on the channel I have not told this on the channel okay you know many months have gone by we're in a relationship we're happy we're in love and I said so honey you know tell me what were your first impressions of me when you first met me he says to me oh I thought you know you were very pretty but I did think you were wearing a lot of foundation it was a little cakey I haven't never got over that and I never will get over it I should probably bring it up times a day a month and I don't use the word hate a lot but I hate this foundation now it's it was like the Revlon whipped foundation that came in a jar I was just trying to look full-coverage fabulous but apparently I had cake face she looked beautiful on my first date with my future husband you guys I will never live that comment down never be careful what you say fellas babies remember okay so I'm cooking and I'm using some lemon so I'm gonna get Carter's first reaction to tasting lemon see what is Carter think like it so this is what we have going on for dinner tonight looks very interesting right so basically this is a blend of corn black beans kale butternut squash and special Peruvian corn kernels and then that is going on top of a bed of quinoa with a little him Iike salad on the side so I think this is a Peruvian style dinner want to cut the pepper can you cut the pepper do you want to go on a walk you read me so something that I do every single night since Carter's been born and I write one line a day in this book it's called then for later in the afternoon when I don't want caffeine I have the decaf chai so first you want to start off with your filtered water this is very important the quality of your water will affect the quality of your tea so you want good quality filtered water so you get your filtered water I put it into my Rayville tea maker I talked about that as one of my favorite kitchen gadgets and I have it set to a custom setting where the water brew is to 180 degrees for me that's the perfect temperature so I can make my tea and drink it right away I don't have to wait for 15-20 minutes for the water to cool down first sugar I don't add a lot just like half a teaspoon and I use a xylitol instead of a regular sugar this is much better for you it does not spike your blood sugar the best thing to add with your chai if you are a milk drinker would be a little dash of heavy cream it just makes it so creamy and delicious I don't have dairy anymore so the next best thing for me is this coconut milk creamer vice so delicious it still has a nice thick creamy consistency and a little hint of a coconut flavor which is good with try because I find that try and coconut go really well while the water is boiling can we just take a moment for these earrings they just came and my rocks box and I'm in love with them okay so we're gonna put it all together I always drink my tea in one of these travel mugs for safety reasons I have a baby around all so it just helps keep it warm longer so your tea doesn't go cold too quickly so we start with our tea bag I'm wild I actually take the tab off and just throw it in there I add a healthy amount of creamer here I like it nice and creamy I had just a little dash of my xylitol and then finally our 180 degree filtered water this to me my friends
