**Six Unconventional Graphics Card Designs**
The world of graphics cards is known for its innovation and creativity. However, every now and then, we come across designs that are truly one-of-a-kind. In this article, we'll be taking a closer look at six unconventional graphics card designs that are sure to raise some eyebrows.
**First Up: The Founders Edition Graphics Card**
Our journey begins with the Founders Edition graphics card. This card features a single blower fan to exhaust case heat out of tiny holes in the rear I/O and also just out into your case. It's impressive that the designers managed to include three outputs, meaning you're not losing out on connectivity. What's even more surprising is how it measures up performance-wise, with shockingly good results right up there with our Founders Edition.
**A Sound Dilemma**
However, this card does have a major drawback - its sound insulation leaves a lot to be desired. The Thermals scream like we were smashing its toes with a hammer the whole time. This card is definitely not one that you'd want to use in a case without some sound isolation or really at all unless you really need a single slot card.
**A Pair of GTX 1080s from Ino 3D**
Next up, we have a pair of freaking heavy GTX 1080s from Ino 3D. These cards are strikingly similar with the in3d I chill and Hercules airboss Behemoth whatever it's called sporting not one, not two, but three fans for reasons that aren't entirely clear. But hey, maybe with the 150 MHz Factory overclock they're on to something.
**A Colorful Twin: The iGame Xtop**
The iGame Xtop is a colorful twin of the in3d I chill. It features a distinctive feature - a turbo button that allows you to boost the clock speed by about 100 MHz. However, it's worth noting that we would prefer Direct Control.
**Four Fans and RGB Lighting: The Ino 3D Eye Chill**
The Ino 3D Eye Chill comes in a surprisingly well-written if somewhat rambling box with no specs whatsoever. We hit up the website and were greeted by a surprise - the website is coming to hit us a surprise that sounds painful. Let's see what else we got here.
**A Surprise at the Website**
The RGB Lighting on the logo is definitely eye-catching, but there's also a turbo button that actually boosts the clock speed by about 100 MHz. Neat! However, we're not sure why you wouldn't run it that way all the time because as for performance, it still falls a little bit behind the Ino 3D Eye Chill which manages better numbers across the board.
**A Three-Slot Card with a Cooler**
Finally, our craziest card yet - the 1080 TI based Colorful AME. Wow, this thing weighs a lot! Vulcan X and Holy balls is that a three slot card? Okay, technically no because it doesn't have more IO over there but the cooler does definitely cover up the slot directly underneath.
**A Turbo Button and LCD Screen**
The Vulcan X comes with a turbo button that bumps the Boost clock to 2 GHz. Aside from some gamery fans, we've got six heat pipes connected to two heat sinks which on its own would be impressive. But what's that on the side next to the GeForce logo? That's a screen baby - a pretty crappy old school LCD screen.
**Performance and Value**
The Vulcan X also comes with a screen that displays fan speed, core temperature, core frequency, and memory usage conveniently on a little hard-to-read display inside your Tower instead of in a sensible software interface. No well, neither does ours because there's no software in the box and none on the English version of the website. I still have to give them points for originality though.
So how much does a 2 GHz boost get you over a regular 1080 Ti? Looks like significant gains in synthetics and real-world numbers, with a couple frames higher than our Founders Edition. To its credit, it even stays very cool when overclocked, thanks to the large heat sink.
**Conclusion**
There you have it - six totally non-mainstream graphics card designs that are sure to raise some eyebrows. While some may take more dramatic approaches, others are similar to ones that were once popular with more performance than we've ever seen in those form factors before.
