"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthese are the Galaxy buds plus they have 11 hours of playtime two-way speakers for rich sound triple mics for clear audio calls let me show you everything they can do let's get started hey everybody welcome to tech with Brett where I help tech work for you by the end of this video you will be an expert at using the Samsung Galaxy buds plus to start off let's take a look at what is inside the box so here up top we have the Galaxy buds plus in the case right here we have the USB C charging cable that you can use it also is Qi Wireless compatible we'll get to that in a minute and then here you have two different sets of ear tips and two different sets of wing tips so that you can get the buds fit properly in your ear now the most important part of wireless earbuds is the fit now I have used a bunch of different ear buds and I found that the Galaxy buds are a very small earbud and if you get it fit right it can be the best sounding earbud for you other ear buds I've tried are just too big and they end up just not feeling great after a while but that is no problem here with the Galaxy buds so the first thing we're going to cover is how to get a proper fit with the galaxy buds plus because there is actually no active noise-cancelling built into these while you're just listening to music so if you get the right fit that's going to provide the best noise cancelling outside of the ear buds so here let's open up the ear buds here we have the left ear bud and the right ear bud so we're going to take these out of the case and now the first thing we're going to do is change the ear tip so here you can see that the ear tips this is the medium and then it also comes with a small and a large so I prefer to use the larger ear tips to have it closed off a little bit more so let's go ahead and start by replacing those now to do this it is pretty simple you just need to pull off that one ear bud and then you need to take the next ear bud and press it on the bottom like this and then kind of wrap around like that and just wiggle it a little bit more and there you can see that it is fully on and now I'm going to repeat that with the other ear bud pulling it off and then there you can see I just wrap it right on and those have been installed very simple to do now next we're going to change out the wingtips now there are three different sizes again here you have the one that is already installed and then here you have one that is more just a grip and then here you have a larger wingtip so let's start by putting on the smallest wingtip so here on the right ear bud I'm just going to pull off that wingtip and now I'm going to use the small size and down on the bottom you can see this little part that will lock in right there so that is the proper way to put it on there is a left and a right one there you can see that this is the right wing tip so we're going to put this on like that line it up push it over and once you have that fully lined up like that you're ready to try it out in the ear so this wingtip is definitely the smallest fits well in the year the only problem is there's no actual wingtip for this so for me it's not going to stay in the ear as well now let's try it the biggest wingtip again to pull this off I'm just going to slide it off like so going to grab the other right wing tip there you can see there's much more again slide it on and here you can see that that isn't going to learn it properly I need to flip it around now that fits on perfect let's try it out in the air now this wingtip actually is pretty comfortable I hadn't used this one before and so I think I might want to try this if you're adjusting the original wingtip that it comes with this might be the one for you just as it fits a bit more around all the sides of my ear instead of just one and now let's go back to the original so I'm just going to pull this off like so here is the original wingtip and again place it on just like this that looks great and I really like how this one fits in the ear it stays snug with the wingtip here at the top let's try it out so here you can see at the back of my ear the wingtip fits right in there I need to make sure I do push it all the way in so it has a good lock and then with these ear buds I don't need to continually adjust them in my ear so I know that I have a good fit and now we're ready to move on now that we have the proper fit I'm actually going to make sure I say these in case on change them out later to see if there's anything that works better now let's talk about battery life on the galaxy buds so when you use the galaxy buds one full charge will actually last you 11 hours now the cool part is the case will give you a full another charge so as long as it's charged up you put the buds in you'll see right here at the top that it is charging the buds right now you can see in my case is dead because the light is not on but then it will give you a full another charge so you'll be able to use these a full day no problem now let's go into charging this now like I said before on the back here we do have the USB C port where you can charge them up and that's going to be the fastest charge but if you do have a wireless charger that is Qi enabled this supports that so all I need to do is place this down on there and now it is charging and here you can see that it has turned red indicating that is charged now for the indicators on here if it is red that means it's under 30% if it is yellow it's between 30% and 60% battery and if it's green that means it has above 60% battery so that will help you know if you need to charge the case or not I like just having my wireless charging pad there by my phone and I can drop it on the case at any time to charge it up so again if I take out the buds is then going to start using the battery on these when you take them out they actually turn on and they will be on until you place them back into the charging case and close it so just make sure that you don't leave them out or you're gonna have extra battery drain and then when I put them here in the case you'll see the indicator come on showing that they are actually being charged if that doesn't turn on it's because the charging case doesn't have enough battery life or they are actually already full and then I can just close it and place it on my wireless charger to get em charged now that we know how to get them charged let's go ahead and connect them to our device no matter what phone you have it's Samsung other Android phone or iOS you will be able to use the Galaxy buds plus the first thing you need to do is make sure that you download the galaxy wearable app from the Play Store or from the App Store now if you have a samsung phone it's actually very easy to get these paired up all I need to do is open up the case on the Galaxy buds plus and over here on my phone you can see it's asking me to connect to the buds so I'm just going to select connect and now it is going to take me to the galaxy wearable application and agree to the terms and conditions and now it's telling me how to use the buds plus there's something called ambient sound we'll get into a bit as well as you can easily start a Spotify playlist so we're gonna select got it and here it's going to finish up connecting and go into the galaxy wearable application so right here at the top you can actually see my battery life of each bud so the left ear bud has 50% battery the right ear bud is at 48% and here it even shows me that the case is at 0% and I am charging it right now but they're actually charging the buds directly and not charging the case yet so there are a ton of settings in here and we're going to go over all of those today now before I do that I do want to talk about one of the other cool things that the buds plus offer is the ability to easily connect to other compatible devices very quickly without having to go through the process of repairing every time so for instance let's say I have a samsung galaxy watch and I want to leave my phone at home and then just make a call through my watch using the ear buds well it's very easy to now pair them together even after I've paired to my phone let me show you how to do this so here on my watch all I need to do is go to my quick settings tap on the Bluetooth and then here it's going to connect bluetooth and there it already connected together now to double check what I am connected to I'm going to go here into my settings I'm going to go to connections I'm going to go to bluetooth and here Bluetooth audio you can see that I'm currently connected to the Galaxy buds plus so all I needed to do was press one button and then it was connected now over here on the phone in the galaxy wearable application you can see that I'm disconnected I just need to select connect to reconnect now let's talk about if you want to pair these to other devices maybe you use a phone for home and a phone for work but you only want one set of earbuds this is how you would be able to do that but actually before we do that I think will be best if I show you putting these in my ears but I don't want you to look at my ears the whole time so use this little contraption right here and pretend that this is my head and over here we have the left ear bud and over here we have the right ear bud there we go okay so now we're going to take the ear buds out of the case there you can see that when I removed him from the case the charging case kind of disappeared and now we're going to place these in the right and left ear buds like so so now let's say we're wearing our ear buds but we want to connect them to a different device so here I have my other device you could go into the galaxy wearables application but if you try and connect to a new device you're not going to find anything so the best way to do this is if you hold down on both ear buds like so until you hear the notification and now it is asking us to reconnect there or over here on the phone you can see that I can connect to the galaxy buds plus so this is really helpful if you're going to connect to other samsung devices or other Android phones that's the best way to connect them to a new device so here you can see I have the battery life and I have everything there and then let's say I want to go back to my other phone here you can see that because the buds are open it is asking me to reconnect so I can easily jump back and forth between the two devices without having to go through the process of repairing it remembers that it was connected to that previous device and there it pops up with all of that information now let's move on to more things that you can do with the buds plus so here it says get to know your buds so let's select let's go so here's how you use the touch pad we're actually going to go into depth on this in a minute but that's how you can get to the guide here is how you can turn on ambient sound and what it's for here it's telling me that I have a wireless power shared device and I can actually charge the ear buds from the phone which is pretty cool and then here it talks about that battery life that we have already gone over and lastly it talks about pairing with another phone or a tablet so some of the things that I just mentioned know if you do want to get more the information I talked about today in a manual you can tap user manual right there and you can get all the info but let's go ahead and show you how to do it so you don't have to go through and read that and then here it's talking about getting a tight seal so that you have better audio quality and it will give you tips as time goes on okay let's get in how to use these things so let's say I get to the gym I take out my earbuds close the case and then I place them in my ears like so so now I'm gonna go to my favorite music application and then I'm just going to select play now just like any other ear bud I can change the volume from my phone and there you can see that it's changing the Bluetooth volume and so I'm listening to a song sounds great I want to pause the song all I need to do is tap and that will pause the song so again you tap the touchpad on the sides so on the very sight of the earbud here this is a touchpad so the different color of there is the touchpad so if I want to play again I would just tap it again and it would begin to play now if I want to skip to the next song all I need to do is double tap and then it will go to the next song if I want to go to the previous song this is where I triple tap one two three so you have to do it pretty quick 1 2 3 1 2 3 and then it will go back so if you tap 3 times it will go back to the beginning of the song tap 3 times again and then it will go to the previous song if you're within the first 3 seconds of the song heading back into the galaxy wearable application let's first talk about ambient sound so ambient sound lets you to hear what is going on around you even though the earbuds have closed off the sound in your ears so if we turn this on that then gives us the option to increase the sound so if you're at the gym you have the earbuds in and there's background noise you'll hear a little bit of that but once you turn on ambient sound it will then let you hear through the headphones using the microphones on the outside in the app here I can increase how loud that noise is so this is great if you're actually talking to somebody without having to take out the earbuds you can actually turn on ambient sound and talk to them so this makes it really nice and easy to use now here you are given a notification when you go to the loudest sound that you may need to make sure that the earbuds are cleaned out to make sure nothing's blocking them if having a problem hearing the ambient sound now I'll show you how to quickly turn it on and off in just a minute now next let's move on to the equalizer so let's go ahead and play our music so here in the equalizer you have six different options so you have normal bass boost saw dynamic clear and treble boost now this all depends on what you're listening to on what you want is set the equalizer to so if you want a lot of bass you can change it to bass boost if you want dynamic you can change that now when first using the earbuds I was like hey I think something's missing so there is this equalizer I was playing with this but there is actually another place in which you can adjust the equalizer and we're going to do this by going into these settings of our phone and then we're gonna go under the sound settings sound and vibration and then down here we have another option for sound quality and effects and then here we have the equalizer so when I first was wearing these it was already set to pop and this took a lot of the bass away now just changing it from pop to normal actually improved the sound a lot so you can come in here and really adjust that equalizer a lot more to get the best sound for you you know again there's two equines there's this one in the phone settings and then there is the one inside of the wearable application so you need to play with both of those to make sure that you get the best sound possible so here you can come into custom and you could actually adjust exactly what you want make it sound really bad or really good and I like to use the normal so we're just going to keep it right there now that we've talked about that let's move down here and move on to notifications so here under the notifications you can choose what notifications come through the earbuds and if they are read aloud while you are using the phone so here I have notifications on here if I turn this on it says here notifications from your phone on your earbuds even when you're using your phone so that would kind of give you a double notification it will notify you here and then it will notify you on the earbuds and then here we have the last setting which is apps to get notified on from so when I'm at the gym maybe using my phone but sometimes I'm not worrying about what is coming through my phone but maybe I want to make sure that I get text messages from work or whatever it is so I can come in here I can select settings and I can choose all and then it allows me to choose what applications I allow to come through the earbuds so here I could have a text message come through or I could have missed calls or schedules and then I can choose exactly what application you don't want these other applications to ding you if it's really not that important of a notification so you're going to go through and choose exactly what you want to have notify you so then when you do get a notification this is what you will hear and then you can choose to act on that notification or not so now we're going to go and look more into the touch pad so I've already talked to you about playing and pausing a track just by tapping and then we have go to next track by double tap but you can also answer or end a call by double tapping and then we talked about going to the previous track by triple tapping and then lastly we have the touch and hold option which I did not talk about yet before we get into that here we have the lock touch pad option so this option just completely disables the touch pad so maybe you're accidentally bumping it or pausing the tracks when you don't want to come in here turn this on but I'm going to keep it off because I want to interact with the touch pad so down here at the bottom you have the touch and hold functions so you have one for the left ear bud and one for the right ear bud so if we go in here you have voice command so you can activate Google assistant or Bixby or other assistants you have on your phone here you have ambient sound where you can quickly turn that on you have volume up or you can quickly start a Spotify playlist so I actually want to set this as a volume up and down so there when I go to volume up and down it changes the left to volume down so you would long press on there and it will slowly change the volume down you can see the volume go down on the right side a long press and there you can see the volume go back up if we go back in here but let's say I want to change the volume on the left so I'm going to do volume control and then on the right I want to have it go to ambient sound well there you can see it gave me a notice that it automatically changed it back so here the left is now a voice command and the right is no ambient sound now this is the main complaint I have about the earbuds is you can't totally customize those but there's actually a brand new improvement to the buds plus that we're going to get to in a minute on how to actually fix that so let's go ahead and choose that on the left I want the voice command and on the right I want the ambient sound so that I can easily activate those again this is by long-pressing so let's say you're at the gym and the ambient sound is off and you just hear a little bit of sound here and there and now let's go ahead and turn on the image sound so again I'm just going to long press here and there you can see the ambient sound turned on and right now it's set to high and you can kind of hear what's going on in the gym and you can adjust it and in here I can actually go through and change medium and then low now depending on how loud it is out there you may like to adjust the ambient sound here but I find that this is really useful to talk to somebody so usually while I'm at the gym I'll have the ambient sound off and then if I want to talk to somebody I turn on the ambient sound and then I'll tap to pause music so that I can actually hear them and it works really well so now that we covered the ambient sound option let's go ahead and cover it the voice assistant option so over here on the Left earbud I'm going to long press and then it's going to pop up my google assistant which I have set to my default voice assistant now if you didn't select your default one and you want to change it this is how you would do that so their Google assistant popped up but I want to change it to Samsung's assistant so I'm actually going to go to settings and then I'm going to go and find the app section and I'm going to scroll through until I find Google you could also use this search at the top if that is helpful so here I found a lot of Google Apps but right there at the top we have Google I'm going to open this up I'm going to select set as default and I'm going to select clear defaults now that I've done that when I long press on the earbud it is then going to pop up the option to choose what voice assistant I want to use so I can choose Google Bixby Amazon's assistant or here I have Cortana and that's because I have those apps installed on my phone so let's go ahead and choose Bixby and I'm going to select always so every time it pops up that I want to talk to her so let's try it out what's the weather like tomorrow and there she gave the feedback through the earbuds telling me all about the weather now with Bixby if you Spotify this is a great thing to use because they work well together but I use other music services so I'm going to change it back to Google assistant now to do that I'm gonna head back into the app section I'm going to look for Bigsby and then under Bigsby voice I'm going to open it up go to set as default and there I'm going to select clear defaults and now when I long press it's going to show me my voice assistant I'm gonna select Google and now I'm gonna select always now I have had some mixed experience with voice assistance on the earbuds at the gym I think it was just too loud it couldn't quite hear me properly but at home I've actually had no problems interacting with the voice assistant how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood and that's really nice to use the assistant on the earbuds because you actually don't need a voice command or a hot word to activate it all you need to do is long press on the side you can set reminders and you can do all of that stuff let me know in the comments below if you'd like to learn more about commands that you could use at the gym on your earbuds now I've had some mixed experience about using the earbuds at the gym like you and they actually worked this time I was able to play into the unknown and jam out no problem other times I got no response but it will beep every time you activate it so you know when you need to talk but sometimes it just wasn't able to recognize what I was saying you will need to find a less noisy area to be able to have those voice commands work now let's talk about receiving a phone call so when I receive a phone call here it will show somebody's calling me if I want to decline the call I would long press on the earbud and then it's going to decline the call now here I'm going to receive a phone call again and this time I'm going to answer and to do that I'm going to double tap the side button here and it's going to actually answer that phone call and then you can talk on the call lognormal and if you want to end the call you would double tap to end the call but let's say that you actually are on a call and you get another call that comes through so here I have another call coming through if I long press it's going to decline that call but if I double tap that's going to answer it and now I can actually jump back and forth between the two calls so here I'm on the call with Brett I double tap and then it changed the line that I was talking to double tap again it will change back to the other line and then if I want to end the call I would long press and they're ended both calls at the same time now let's jump back on a call they're answered the call so now while I'm on this call if at any time I want to mute me so that the other person cannot hear what I am saying I can actually long press on the earbud it will then give a little verbal notification that it has been muted and while I am talking they will not be able to hear me over here on the phone it shows that you aren't on mute but then if you want to turn that mute off you would just long press again you'll hear the little beep and now you are no longer mute and if I want to end the call double tap and there it has ended the call now one of the main issues that I've had while wearing earbuds and using phone calls is it sounds like I'm in a bubble or just my ears and you to pop or something like that because it's closing off the sound well here in the wearable application if you go under the advanced setting there's one option here that says use ambient sound during calls so here it says hear your own voice more clearly while you're on the phone now that's the reason it sounds like I'm plugged up because my ears are really plugged up but here if I turn on ambient sound I'll be able to talk through the earbuds and I can hear what's going on around me so that I don't have that plugged up feeling and it's much better phone call experience now when I use this on a phone call it was so easy to hear I could actually be on the call a lot more I could be talking to somebody could still hear my kids screaming at me and I could carry on a conversation and it just sounded really nice the only issue here is you do need to make sure that this is turned on before you start the call you can't just turn it on and off at any time now that it's on and I receive a phone call I will be able to have ambient sound while I do that phone call so if you're looking for or something like that make sure you come in here and turn on the advanced setting before you start the phone call now the last thing I want to say about phone calls is using the buds plus on a phone call was an amazing experience on the previous generation I just never had good experience with them being able to hear me really well but on the buds plus there's another microphone here on the side that actually acts as a second noise cancelling mic while you're on a phone call so they are able to hear your much more clearly now after a few phone calls I can say that it totally works and other people were able to hear me without any issues so if you're looking for better sound quality and you are we're thinking about the other buds definitely go with the buds Plus now let's move on to find my earbuds so find my earbuds is really nice let's say that your kids take them out of your case and you're trying to find them well as long as they have battery life and your phone is connected to them over Bluetooth you are able to use this feature you can't use it while the earbuds are in your ears it could hurt your ears or it just won't actually work but let's say I lost my earbuds my kids found them and dropped them somewhere so if I want to find my earbuds and I'm connected to my earbuds I can go into the find my earbuds section here you can see that my earbuds are connected to my phone so you need to be close and they need to have battery life when both of those things are true I can then select start and now it's going to start beeping on each earbud and then here I can mute each earbuds so I can mute the right ear bud and here I can hear the sound out of the left one or if I want to find the right earbud there you can hear it as well so with that sound you can then find your earbuds and then you can come in here and select stop and you won't lose them but again they do need to be connected to your phone and you do need to have battery life it would be nice if there was something on the case like a tile or something to be able to find those but as of right now nothing like that is available so the earbuds have to be out of the case and connected to your device now next you have an option for general where you can actually completely reset the earbuds maybe you don't want your information on them anymore and you want to pair them to a new phone you can come in here and reset the earbuds if you want to make sure that you have the latest software update you can come in here to earbud software update and then you can select download and install and then it will go through the process to check to see if there are any new updates but right there there are no updates available and then here you have the auto download over Wi-Fi so that is already selected next you have tips and user manual I've pretty much explained all of these here in today's video but lastly this is the best part about the buds plus is this new labs feature with the labs feature it adds a lot of the functionality that I was really hoping for and even though it's in labs it's available so I'm just really excited about it so first up we have double tap earbud edge to change the volume so I'm going to turn this on and is how this works so instead of using the touch pads on the side to change the volume all you need to do is tap the front of the earbud to adjust the volume so on the Left earbud you have volume down and on the right ear bud you have volume up so again the long press setting on the left is set to voice command and on the right is set to ambient noise but now let's see if we can change the volume so all I need to do is tap the front twice and there you can see it adjusted the volume on the right tap and you can see the volume is increasing so it's really right on the front of the earbud when it's in your ear and not on the side going on the side will pause your music or play or end the call but if you tap the front it will then turn up the volume and turn down the volume so I'm very excited to see that that is available now going back to the ambient mode setting here we have an option for extra high ambient volume so you can add an extra volume marker to the ambient sound to really increase the noise so if ambient noise isn't enough for you you want to hear your surroundings a little bit more while you're out and about when you turn that on and you go back here to the ambient noise there you can see that it added a fourth option to go extra high now I haven't really had the need to turn on extra high but it is there if you want to make sure that you hear outside a lot better and then the last setting here in labs is gaming modes so minimize audio delay for vivid synchronized gaming sound so this is if you're playing a game on your phone and there's a lot of a lag when you're wearing earbuds if you enable this mode that lag will be diminished and it's going to have a little bit better of a connection and this probably will use a little bit more battery but I haven't tested it fully and that's how you can use the gaming mode you now play a game on your phone and it's gonna work a lot better I've also noticed that this didn't improve while watching videos so usually if I'm watching videos there's a slight lag with the earbuds but when this is on I noticed that it was perfectly aligned the talking on the video and what the earbuds heard and then lastly we have a setting here about the earbuds so you can learn about the software information and battery so if you're curious each earbud has 85 million hours and then the charging case has 270 milliamp hours so those are the different specs of the device now lastly if you do want to disconnect from the buds plus you can select the menu and you can come over here to disconnect or you can select manage devices you could choose the buds plus and then you can remove it as a connection on your phone but we don't need to do that right now so that is everything that you can do with the new samsung galaxy buds plus if you have any further questions please let me know in the comments below and if you'd like to see a quick comparison about the buds plus and the original Galaxy buds make sure you check out the video over here on the side thanks so much for watching we'll see you on the next onethese are the Galaxy buds plus they have 11 hours of playtime two-way speakers for rich sound triple mics for clear audio calls let me show you everything they can do let's get started hey everybody welcome to tech with Brett where I help tech work for you by the end of this video you will be an expert at using the Samsung Galaxy buds plus to start off let's take a look at what is inside the box so here up top we have the Galaxy buds plus in the case right here we have the USB C charging cable that you can use it also is Qi Wireless compatible we'll get to that in a minute and then here you have two different sets of ear tips and two different sets of wing tips so that you can get the buds fit properly in your ear now the most important part of wireless earbuds is the fit now I have used a bunch of different ear buds and I found that the Galaxy buds are a very small earbud and if you get it fit right it can be the best sounding earbud for you other ear buds I've tried are just too big and they end up just not feeling great after a while but that is no problem here with the Galaxy buds so the first thing we're going to cover is how to get a proper fit with the galaxy buds plus because there is actually no active noise-cancelling built into these while you're just listening to music so if you get the right fit that's going to provide the best noise cancelling outside of the ear buds so here let's open up the ear buds here we have the left ear bud and the right ear bud so we're going to take these out of the case and now the first thing we're going to do is change the ear tip so here you can see that the ear tips this is the medium and then it also comes with a small and a large so I prefer to use the larger ear tips to have it closed off a little bit more so let's go ahead and start by replacing those now to do this it is pretty simple you just need to pull off that one ear bud and then you need to take the next ear bud and press it on the bottom like this and then kind of wrap around like that and just wiggle it a little bit more and there you can see that it is fully on and now I'm going to repeat that with the other ear bud pulling it off and then there you can see I just wrap it right on and those have been installed very simple to do now next we're going to change out the wingtips now there are three different sizes again here you have the one that is already installed and then here you have one that is more just a grip and then here you have a larger wingtip so let's start by putting on the smallest wingtip so here on the right ear bud I'm just going to pull off that wingtip and now I'm going to use the small size and down on the bottom you can see this little part that will lock in right there so that is the proper way to put it on there is a left and a right one there you can see that this is the right wing tip so we're going to put this on like that line it up push it over and once you have that fully lined up like that you're ready to try it out in the ear so this wingtip is definitely the smallest fits well in the year the only problem is there's no actual wingtip for this so for me it's not going to stay in the ear as well now let's try it the biggest wingtip again to pull this off I'm just going to slide it off like so going to grab the other right wing tip there you can see there's much more again slide it on and here you can see that that isn't going to learn it properly I need to flip it around now that fits on perfect let's try it out in the air now this wingtip actually is pretty comfortable I hadn't used this one before and so I think I might want to try this if you're adjusting the original wingtip that it comes with this might be the one for you just as it fits a bit more around all the sides of my ear instead of just one and now let's go back to the original so I'm just going to pull this off like so here is the original wingtip and again place it on just like this that looks great and I really like how this one fits in the ear it stays snug with the wingtip here at the top let's try it out so here you can see at the back of my ear the wingtip fits right in there I need to make sure I do push it all the way in so it has a good lock and then with these ear buds I don't need to continually adjust them in my ear so I know that I have a good fit and now we're ready to move on now that we have the proper fit I'm actually going to make sure I say these in case on change them out later to see if there's anything that works better now let's talk about battery life on the galaxy buds so when you use the galaxy buds one full charge will actually last you 11 hours now the cool part is the case will give you a full another charge so as long as it's charged up you put the buds in you'll see right here at the top that it is charging the buds right now you can see in my case is dead because the light is not on but then it will give you a full another charge so you'll be able to use these a full day no problem now let's go into charging this now like I said before on the back here we do have the USB C port where you can charge them up and that's going to be the fastest charge but if you do have a wireless charger that is Qi enabled this supports that so all I need to do is place this down on there and now it is charging and here you can see that it has turned red indicating that is charged now for the indicators on here if it is red that means it's under 30% if it is yellow it's between 30% and 60% battery and if it's green that means it has above 60% battery so that will help you know if you need to charge the case or not I like just having my wireless charging pad there by my phone and I can drop it on the case at any time to charge it up so again if I take out the buds is then going to start using the battery on these when you take them out they actually turn on and they will be on until you place them back into the charging case and close it so just make sure that you don't leave them out or you're gonna have extra battery drain and then when I put them here in the case you'll see the indicator come on showing that they are actually being charged if that doesn't turn on it's because the charging case doesn't have enough battery life or they are actually already full and then I can just close it and place it on my wireless charger to get em charged now that we know how to get them charged let's go ahead and connect them to our device no matter what phone you have it's Samsung other Android phone or iOS you will be able to use the Galaxy buds plus the first thing you need to do is make sure that you download the galaxy wearable app from the Play Store or from the App Store now if you have a samsung phone it's actually very easy to get these paired up all I need to do is open up the case on the Galaxy buds plus and over here on my phone you can see it's asking me to connect to the buds so I'm just going to select connect and now it is going to take me to the galaxy wearable application and agree to the terms and conditions and now it's telling me how to use the buds plus there's something called ambient sound we'll get into a bit as well as you can easily start a Spotify playlist so we're gonna select got it and here it's going to finish up connecting and go into the galaxy wearable application so right here at the top you can actually see my battery life of each bud so the left ear bud has 50% battery the right ear bud is at 48% and here it even shows me that the case is at 0% and I am charging it right now but they're actually charging the buds directly and not charging the case yet so there are a ton of settings in here and we're going to go over all of those today now before I do that I do want to talk about one of the other cool things that the buds plus offer is the ability to easily connect to other compatible devices very quickly without having to go through the process of repairing every time so for instance let's say I have a samsung galaxy watch and I want to leave my phone at home and then just make a call through my watch using the ear buds well it's very easy to now pair them together even after I've paired to my phone let me show you how to do this so here on my watch all I need to do is go to my quick settings tap on the Bluetooth and then here it's going to connect bluetooth and there it already connected together now to double check what I am connected to I'm going to go here into my settings I'm going to go to connections I'm going to go to bluetooth and here Bluetooth audio you can see that I'm currently connected to the Galaxy buds plus so all I needed to do was press one button and then it was connected now over here on the phone in the galaxy wearable application you can see that I'm disconnected I just need to select connect to reconnect now let's talk about if you want to pair these to other devices maybe you use a phone for home and a phone for work but you only want one set of earbuds this is how you would be able to do that but actually before we do that I think will be best if I show you putting these in my ears but I don't want you to look at my ears the whole time so use this little contraption right here and pretend that this is my head and over here we have the left ear bud and over here we have the right ear bud there we go okay so now we're going to take the ear buds out of the case there you can see that when I removed him from the case the charging case kind of disappeared and now we're going to place these in the right and left ear buds like so so now let's say we're wearing our ear buds but we want to connect them to a different device so here I have my other device you could go into the galaxy wearables application but if you try and connect to a new device you're not going to find anything so the best way to do this is if you hold down on both ear buds like so until you hear the notification and now it is asking us to reconnect there or over here on the phone you can see that I can connect to the galaxy buds plus so this is really helpful if you're going to connect to other samsung devices or other Android phones that's the best way to connect them to a new device so here you can see I have the battery life and I have everything there and then let's say I want to go back to my other phone here you can see that because the buds are open it is asking me to reconnect so I can easily jump back and forth between the two devices without having to go through the process of repairing it remembers that it was connected to that previous device and there it pops up with all of that information now let's move on to more things that you can do with the buds plus so here it says get to know your buds so let's select let's go so here's how you use the touch pad we're actually going to go into depth on this in a minute but that's how you can get to the guide here is how you can turn on ambient sound and what it's for here it's telling me that I have a wireless power shared device and I can actually charge the ear buds from the phone which is pretty cool and then here it talks about that battery life that we have already gone over and lastly it talks about pairing with another phone or a tablet so some of the things that I just mentioned know if you do want to get more the information I talked about today in a manual you can tap user manual right there and you can get all the info but let's go ahead and show you how to do it so you don't have to go through and read that and then here it's talking about getting a tight seal so that you have better audio quality and it will give you tips as time goes on okay let's get in how to use these things so let's say I get to the gym I take out my earbuds close the case and then I place them in my ears like so so now I'm gonna go to my favorite music application and then I'm just going to select play now just like any other ear bud I can change the volume from my phone and there you can see that it's changing the Bluetooth volume and so I'm listening to a song sounds great I want to pause the song all I need to do is tap and that will pause the song so again you tap the touchpad on the sides so on the very sight of the earbud here this is a touchpad so the different color of there is the touchpad so if I want to play again I would just tap it again and it would begin to play now if I want to skip to the next song all I need to do is double tap and then it will go to the next song if I want to go to the previous song this is where I triple tap one two three so you have to do it pretty quick 1 2 3 1 2 3 and then it will go back so if you tap 3 times it will go back to the beginning of the song tap 3 times again and then it will go to the previous song if you're within the first 3 seconds of the song heading back into the galaxy wearable application let's first talk about ambient sound so ambient sound lets you to hear what is going on around you even though the earbuds have closed off the sound in your ears so if we turn this on that then gives us the option to increase the sound so if you're at the gym you have the earbuds in and there's background noise you'll hear a little bit of that but once you turn on ambient sound it will then let you hear through the headphones using the microphones on the outside in the app here I can increase how loud that noise is so this is great if you're actually talking to somebody without having to take out the earbuds you can actually turn on ambient sound and talk to them so this makes it really nice and easy to use now here you are given a notification when you go to the loudest sound that you may need to make sure that the earbuds are cleaned out to make sure nothing's blocking them if having a problem hearing the ambient sound now I'll show you how to quickly turn it on and off in just a minute now next let's move on to the equalizer so let's go ahead and play our music so here in the equalizer you have six different options so you have normal bass boost saw dynamic clear and treble boost now this all depends on what you're listening to on what you want is set the equalizer to so if you want a lot of bass you can change it to bass boost if you want dynamic you can change that now when first using the earbuds I was like hey I think something's missing so there is this equalizer I was playing with this but there is actually another place in which you can adjust the equalizer and we're going to do this by going into these settings of our phone and then we're gonna go under the sound settings sound and vibration and then down here we have another option for sound quality and effects and then here we have the equalizer so when I first was wearing these it was already set to pop and this took a lot of the bass away now just changing it from pop to normal actually improved the sound a lot so you can come in here and really adjust that equalizer a lot more to get the best sound for you you know again there's two equines there's this one in the phone settings and then there is the one inside of the wearable application so you need to play with both of those to make sure that you get the best sound possible so here you can come into custom and you could actually adjust exactly what you want make it sound really bad or really good and I like to use the normal so we're just going to keep it right there now that we've talked about that let's move down here and move on to notifications so here under the notifications you can choose what notifications come through the earbuds and if they are read aloud while you are using the phone so here I have notifications on here if I turn this on it says here notifications from your phone on your earbuds even when you're using your phone so that would kind of give you a double notification it will notify you here and then it will notify you on the earbuds and then here we have the last setting which is apps to get notified on from so when I'm at the gym maybe using my phone but sometimes I'm not worrying about what is coming through my phone but maybe I want to make sure that I get text messages from work or whatever it is so I can come in here I can select settings and I can choose all and then it allows me to choose what applications I allow to come through the earbuds so here I could have a text message come through or I could have missed calls or schedules and then I can choose exactly what application you don't want these other applications to ding you if it's really not that important of a notification so you're going to go through and choose exactly what you want to have notify you so then when you do get a notification this is what you will hear and then you can choose to act on that notification or not so now we're going to go and look more into the touch pad so I've already talked to you about playing and pausing a track just by tapping and then we have go to next track by double tap but you can also answer or end a call by double tapping and then we talked about going to the previous track by triple tapping and then lastly we have the touch and hold option which I did not talk about yet before we get into that here we have the lock touch pad option so this option just completely disables the touch pad so maybe you're accidentally bumping it or pausing the tracks when you don't want to come in here turn this on but I'm going to keep it off because I want to interact with the touch pad so down here at the bottom you have the touch and hold functions so you have one for the left ear bud and one for the right ear bud so if we go in here you have voice command so you can activate Google assistant or Bixby or other assistants you have on your phone here you have ambient sound where you can quickly turn that on you have volume up or you can quickly start a Spotify playlist so I actually want to set this as a volume up and down so there when I go to volume up and down it changes the left to volume down so you would long press on there and it will slowly change the volume down you can see the volume go down on the right side a long press and there you can see the volume go back up if we go back in here but let's say I want to change the volume on the left so I'm going to do volume control and then on the right I want to have it go to ambient sound well there you can see it gave me a notice that it automatically changed it back so here the left is now a voice command and the right is no ambient sound now this is the main complaint I have about the earbuds is you can't totally customize those but there's actually a brand new improvement to the buds plus that we're going to get to in a minute on how to actually fix that so let's go ahead and choose that on the left I want the voice command and on the right I want the ambient sound so that I can easily activate those again this is by long-pressing so let's say you're at the gym and the ambient sound is off and you just hear a little bit of sound here and there and now let's go ahead and turn on the image sound so again I'm just going to long press here and there you can see the ambient sound turned on and right now it's set to high and you can kind of hear what's going on in the gym and you can adjust it and in here I can actually go through and change medium and then low now depending on how loud it is out there you may like to adjust the ambient sound here but I find that this is really useful to talk to somebody so usually while I'm at the gym I'll have the ambient sound off and then if I want to talk to somebody I turn on the ambient sound and then I'll tap to pause music so that I can actually hear them and it works really well so now that we covered the ambient sound option let's go ahead and cover it the voice assistant option so over here on the Left earbud I'm going to long press and then it's going to pop up my google assistant which I have set to my default voice assistant now if you didn't select your default one and you want to change it this is how you would do that so their Google assistant popped up but I want to change it to Samsung's assistant so I'm actually going to go to settings and then I'm going to go and find the app section and I'm going to scroll through until I find Google you could also use this search at the top if that is helpful so here I found a lot of Google Apps but right there at the top we have Google I'm going to open this up I'm going to select set as default and I'm going to select clear defaults now that I've done that when I long press on the earbud it is then going to pop up the option to choose what voice assistant I want to use so I can choose Google Bixby Amazon's assistant or here I have Cortana and that's because I have those apps installed on my phone so let's go ahead and choose Bixby and I'm going to select always so every time it pops up that I want to talk to her so let's try it out what's the weather like tomorrow and there she gave the feedback through the earbuds telling me all about the weather now with Bixby if you Spotify this is a great thing to use because they work well together but I use other music services so I'm going to change it back to Google assistant now to do that I'm gonna head back into the app section I'm going to look for Bigsby and then under Bigsby voice I'm going to open it up go to set as default and there I'm going to select clear defaults and now when I long press it's going to show me my voice assistant I'm gonna select Google and now I'm gonna select always now I have had some mixed experience with voice assistance on the earbuds at the gym I think it was just too loud it couldn't quite hear me properly but at home I've actually had no problems interacting with the voice assistant how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood and that's really nice to use the assistant on the earbuds because you actually don't need a voice command or a hot word to activate it all you need to do is long press on the side you can set reminders and you can do all of that stuff let me know in the comments below if you'd like to learn more about commands that you could use at the gym on your earbuds now I've had some mixed experience about using the earbuds at the gym like you and they actually worked this time I was able to play into the unknown and jam out no problem other times I got no response but it will beep every time you activate it so you know when you need to talk but sometimes it just wasn't able to recognize what I was saying you will need to find a less noisy area to be able to have those voice commands work now let's talk about receiving a phone call so when I receive a phone call here it will show somebody's calling me if I want to decline the call I would long press on the earbud and then it's going to decline the call now here I'm going to receive a phone call again and this time I'm going to answer and to do that I'm going to double tap the side button here and it's going to actually answer that phone call and then you can talk on the call lognormal and if you want to end the call you would double tap to end the call but let's say that you actually are on a call and you get another call that comes through so here I have another call coming through if I long press it's going to decline that call but if I double tap that's going to answer it and now I can actually jump back and forth between the two calls so here I'm on the call with Brett I double tap and then it changed the line that I was talking to double tap again it will change back to the other line and then if I want to end the call I would long press and they're ended both calls at the same time now let's jump back on a call they're answered the call so now while I'm on this call if at any time I want to mute me so that the other person cannot hear what I am saying I can actually long press on the earbud it will then give a little verbal notification that it has been muted and while I am talking they will not be able to hear me over here on the phone it shows that you aren't on mute but then if you want to turn that mute off you would just long press again you'll hear the little beep and now you are no longer mute and if I want to end the call double tap and there it has ended the call now one of the main issues that I've had while wearing earbuds and using phone calls is it sounds like I'm in a bubble or just my ears and you to pop or something like that because it's closing off the sound well here in the wearable application if you go under the advanced setting there's one option here that says use ambient sound during calls so here it says hear your own voice more clearly while you're on the phone now that's the reason it sounds like I'm plugged up because my ears are really plugged up but here if I turn on ambient sound I'll be able to talk through the earbuds and I can hear what's going on around me so that I don't have that plugged up feeling and it's much better phone call experience now when I use this on a phone call it was so easy to hear I could actually be on the call a lot more I could be talking to somebody could still hear my kids screaming at me and I could carry on a conversation and it just sounded really nice the only issue here is you do need to make sure that this is turned on before you start the call you can't just turn it on and off at any time now that it's on and I receive a phone call I will be able to have ambient sound while I do that phone call so if you're looking for or something like that make sure you come in here and turn on the advanced setting before you start the phone call now the last thing I want to say about phone calls is using the buds plus on a phone call was an amazing experience on the previous generation I just never had good experience with them being able to hear me really well but on the buds plus there's another microphone here on the side that actually acts as a second noise cancelling mic while you're on a phone call so they are able to hear your much more clearly now after a few phone calls I can say that it totally works and other people were able to hear me without any issues so if you're looking for better sound quality and you are we're thinking about the other buds definitely go with the buds Plus now let's move on to find my earbuds so find my earbuds is really nice let's say that your kids take them out of your case and you're trying to find them well as long as they have battery life and your phone is connected to them over Bluetooth you are able to use this feature you can't use it while the earbuds are in your ears it could hurt your ears or it just won't actually work but let's say I lost my earbuds my kids found them and dropped them somewhere so if I want to find my earbuds and I'm connected to my earbuds I can go into the find my earbuds section here you can see that my earbuds are connected to my phone so you need to be close and they need to have battery life when both of those things are true I can then select start and now it's going to start beeping on each earbud and then here I can mute each earbuds so I can mute the right ear bud and here I can hear the sound out of the left one or if I want to find the right earbud there you can hear it as well so with that sound you can then find your earbuds and then you can come in here and select stop and you won't lose them but again they do need to be connected to your phone and you do need to have battery life it would be nice if there was something on the case like a tile or something to be able to find those but as of right now nothing like that is available so the earbuds have to be out of the case and connected to your device now next you have an option for general where you can actually completely reset the earbuds maybe you don't want your information on them anymore and you want to pair them to a new phone you can come in here and reset the earbuds if you want to make sure that you have the latest software update you can come in here to earbud software update and then you can select download and install and then it will go through the process to check to see if there are any new updates but right there there are no updates available and then here you have the auto download over Wi-Fi so that is already selected next you have tips and user manual I've pretty much explained all of these here in today's video but lastly this is the best part about the buds plus is this new labs feature with the labs feature it adds a lot of the functionality that I was really hoping for and even though it's in labs it's available so I'm just really excited about it so first up we have double tap earbud edge to change the volume so I'm going to turn this on and is how this works so instead of using the touch pads on the side to change the volume all you need to do is tap the front of the earbud to adjust the volume so on the Left earbud you have volume down and on the right ear bud you have volume up so again the long press setting on the left is set to voice command and on the right is set to ambient noise but now let's see if we can change the volume so all I need to do is tap the front twice and there you can see it adjusted the volume on the right tap and you can see the volume is increasing so it's really right on the front of the earbud when it's in your ear and not on the side going on the side will pause your music or play or end the call but if you tap the front it will then turn up the volume and turn down the volume so I'm very excited to see that that is available now going back to the ambient mode setting here we have an option for extra high ambient volume so you can add an extra volume marker to the ambient sound to really increase the noise so if ambient noise isn't enough for you you want to hear your surroundings a little bit more while you're out and about when you turn that on and you go back here to the ambient noise there you can see that it added a fourth option to go extra high now I haven't really had the need to turn on extra high but it is there if you want to make sure that you hear outside a lot better and then the last setting here in labs is gaming modes so minimize audio delay for vivid synchronized gaming sound so this is if you're playing a game on your phone and there's a lot of a lag when you're wearing earbuds if you enable this mode that lag will be diminished and it's going to have a little bit better of a connection and this probably will use a little bit more battery but I haven't tested it fully and that's how you can use the gaming mode you now play a game on your phone and it's gonna work a lot better I've also noticed that this didn't improve while watching videos so usually if I'm watching videos there's a slight lag with the earbuds but when this is on I noticed that it was perfectly aligned the talking on the video and what the earbuds heard and then lastly we have a setting here about the earbuds so you can learn about the software information and battery so if you're curious each earbud has 85 million hours and then the charging case has 270 milliamp hours so those are the different specs of the device now lastly if you do want to disconnect from the buds plus you can select the menu and you can come over here to disconnect or you can select manage devices you could choose the buds plus and then you can remove it as a connection on your phone but we don't need to do that right now so that is everything that you can do with the new samsung galaxy buds plus if you have any further questions please let me know in the comments below and if you'd like to see a quick comparison about the buds plus and the original Galaxy buds make sure you check out the video over here on the side thanks so much for watching we'll see you on the next one\n"
