My Book Acquisitions: A Review of My Recent Reads
I've recently acquired a large number of books that I'm excited to read and share my thoughts with you all. Let's start with "It's Not You, It's Me" by the author whose name was not mentioned. This book is about a guy who has a job where he gets to interrupt weddings if his client hires him to find out if their partner has been cheating. The twist is that the client wants to get married despite discovering their partner's infidelity. As the story progresses, this guy teams up with another girl and they work together to solve these problems. Unfortunately, I just didn't click with this one. It was a bit of a disappointment, but I'm sure many people love it.
I also have "Granite Harbor" by Peter Nichols, which came with a bookmark featuring an anatomy of a frog that's surprisingly not creepy at all. This book is a mystery set in a small town in coastal Maine where a serial killer has been targeting the locals. The title suggests that the town is shaken to its core, but I'm not sure what to expect from this one. I haven't heard much about it before, so I'll have to make up my mind later on.
Next up is "First Down" by Grace Riley, which I picked up on a whim. It's a new adult romance novel that follows James and Beex, who meet when James needs help with tutoring and Beex needs assistance in getting rid of her ex-boyfriend. They agree to fake-date, and things get interesting from there. The book was just okay - not particularly memorable or exciting - but if you're looking for a cute sports romance, it might be worth checking out.
I also have "Swift and Saddled" by the same author as "First Down", which is part of the "Done and Dusted" series. I'll admit that I wasn't blown away by the first book in this series, but the cover art for this one has really piqued my interest. The design features a vintage Western style that looks like it's straight out of an old-fashioned movie poster. While I'm not super excited about this one, I do hope to enjoy it more than the previous installment.
Last but not least, I have two book-of-the-month selections: "Just for the Summer" by Abby Hanes and "The Reappearance of Rachel Price" by Holly Jackson. The first book is a romance novel that follows two characters who think they're cursed when it comes to love. They decide to fake-dating each other as a way to break their curse, but things get complicated from there. I loved this book - it's adorable and has a lot of heart. If you're looking for a light, fun read, I highly recommend checking this one out.
Holly Jackson is also the author of "The Good Girls' Guide to Murder" series, which I've enjoyed reading up until now (I only read the first two books, so we'll have to see if I'll continue with the third). Her latest book, "Reappearance", is a standalone novel about a teenage girl whose mother disappeared when she was two years old. The mother reappears suddenly, and the family sets out to uncover what really happened all those years ago. I'm not sure how much of it will hold my interest, but I do enjoy Holly Jackson's mystery novels.
Unfortunately, I did DNF (did not finish) "Five Survive" by another author. While I've enjoyed this series in the past, something about this book didn't quite work for me. Let's just say we'll have to wait and see if the next installment in the series will win me over.
Overall, I'm excited to dive into these new books and share my thoughts with you all. Whether they turn out to be winners or flops remains to be seen - but one thing is certain: I'm eager to get lost in their pages!

good outdoor activities to do um and then she has spring summer all that kind of stuff and I think that's really awesome I'm definitely going to be using some of this especially with my younger um with my youngest child so I'm really excited for it because I I want to say I spend 1,000 hours outside every day I at least when weather's nice I'm not kidding it's not all at once but we probably spend up to four to five hours outside um and I love that because I think it's really beneficial to your mental health I know that it helps me out a ton I can't say that for everybody but it helps me out and I think it helps my kids with energy and all that kind of stuff okay moving into some books that I got sent I got sent from Bloom say you swear by Megan brand I think this is a republished one it says they say First Love lasts forever I hope they're wrong okay it says her brother's best friend broke her heart what happens when his new teammate wants to put it back together okay so teammate what is this exactly oh quarterback okay I don't know if this is a new adult it's a pretty freaking lengthy one it is oh my gosh you 500 pages it is literally like 510 pages that is a sick freaking read the inmate last year it was bizarre I can see when people love Freeda mcfaden she is very very easy to read you can fly through her books with no problem at all but I don't think the writing is friendship connecting so actually who comes to um East rescue is Will's older brother his name is Shep and he helps out a lot so I think it's got to do a lot with that it says a surprise pregnancy leads to even more life-changing revelations in this heartfelt slowburn friends to lovers romance I've heard that this is sugary sweet super cute and perfect for Springtime so I am definitely reading it very very soon okay now I have a stack of some books I got sent to I think these are all from um Berkeley I have take two birdie Maxwell by aliceon wi Scotch I don't know much about it I think she by Holly Jackson I'm sure you've heard of her she wrote The Good Girls guide to murder series which I really like I've only read the first two I don't know if I'll ever read the third we'll have to see but this one is a standalone one it's about um a teenage girl that her mom Rachel priz disappeared when she was two and they're now making like a Netflix series about it and then all of a sudden her mom just shows up again and they're trying to figure out what exactly happened like 17 years ago who knows nobody and it kind of goes from there I really like Holly Jackson's ya Mysteries which I don't love a ton of ya ones but Holly Jackson has cracked the formula I think I will say that but then I dnfed five survive which came out last year so we'll have to see actually on that but either way those are all the books I have acquired recently quite a lot I'm excited for a lot of them and I can't wait to read them if you have any thoughts on them please let me know down in the comments as always thank you so much for watching and I will see you in my next video bye\n"
