Apple iPhone X screen freezing up when it's freezing outside Fix is on the way

It's November 10th, and Happy Friday to all our readers! With the new Apple iPhone 10 out now for a week, there have been precious few bugs that have popped up for the handset except for that odd letter I autocorrect thing which Apple says there ironically numbered eleven dot one dot one update resolves great. However, this issue has apparently given way to a new problem for iPhone 10 owners living in cold climates. Several users have reported that the phone's screen becomes unresponsive almost immediately when going from say the warmth of a fireplace fire with puppies and kittens all around to opening the front door and stepping into a raging blizzard. Clearly, this is a big problem.

Apple acknowledges the issue and assures us that software fixes are in the works. While no exact date was specified for the update, it's recommended that users stay closer to the warm fire part of the equation and maybe even get a little scarf or something for their iPhone 10 until then. It's worth noting that most of the time, the phone will work fine after a short time out in the cold, so there's no cause for alarm just yet.

On the other side of the tech world, video game news is hot! GameSpot and other outlets are reporting that Electronic Arts (EA) is buying up Respawn Entertainment, the makers of the Titanfall series. This acquisition is more of a consolidation move than a blockbuster merger, as EA has been the distributor for Respawn's games since early on in the company's history. Essentially, this brings the whole sausage works under one roof.

This news also comes with plenty of good tidings. There are new Titanfall games in the works, along with a new Star Wars game and a VR game. Jason West, the CEO of Respawn Entertainment, has announced that he will be staying on to helm the ship after the acquisition. Moreover, EA reportedly paid $151 million for Respawn, which is an impressive amount considering the popularity of their games.

Just when you thought there would always be a new Star Wars film every year from Disney, news came out that this might not be the case anymore. Disney announced Thursday that Last Jedi director and apparent super fan Rian Johnson is going to work up an entirely new Star Wars trilogy that is not connected to the current Skywalker saga. Not only will he be writing and directing the first installment in the press release, but longtime Star Wars producer and Lucasfilm icon Kathleen Kennedy has also given her seal of approval.

However, there's been no reaction from Star Wars creator George Lucas, who may have been busy swimming in a pool full of money after Disney bought him out for over four billion dollars a couple of years ago. As for the new trilogy, there's still no word on what it will be called, where it'll be set, or when it will even take place. We'll just have to wait and pass judgment on Johnson's Star Wars chops until after Last Jedi opens on December 18th.
