The FIRST 5 second pass in Drag Week history! _ Drag Week Day 5

A Look Back at Drag Week with Jackie Ickey

It's impressive to think about what we've accomplished so far on this Drag Week journey. We've tackled four different tracks, spanning over 800 miles, and have been behind the wheel of a 1919 Frank, which is a remarkable feat considering its age and reliability issues. The car was originally purchased by my grandfather for $3,000 in 1919, making it a high-end vehicle at that time. It's still running strong after all these years, thanks to my dad's maintenance skills.

Our fans have been following along with our adventures, including when my 92-year-old dad watched the video and was thrilled to see his old car still going strong. He had a real charge out of watching it, and I'm glad we could share that experience with him.

After a short break, we're back at the drag strip, ready to take on the day's challenges. We've decided to change our launch setups for today's racing, trying out different configurations in the GTS and 787 respectively. Our goal is to knock it out of the park and make it into the top ten – and maybe even push for a sub-7-second pass.

The car is powered by a 6.0L engine with a 5-inch stroke, which provides plenty of power and smooth operation. We've estimated its horsepower output to be around 1314 units, but we're not sure if that's entirely accurate, considering it's never been on the dyno before.

We've made it into history books by becoming the first NA car to achieve a 7-second pass – a feat only one other driver has accomplished. That record-breaking run came in at an incredible 607 miles per hour, setting a new standard for speed and performance.

Our opponents are already looking to take us down a peg, with Tom Bailey aiming for a top spot on the podium. He's got his sights set firmly on the number 1 position, but we're not going to let that happen without putting up a fight.

After a brief pause, our friends from the Ascona crew have arrived, ready to give it their all and make a run at the top ten. Despite some challenges along the way – including a blown engine due to oil pressure issues – they've persevered and are now looking to take down the competition.

In the end, it's not about personal bests or records; it's about having fun, pushing ourselves to be better drivers, and enjoying the thrill of racing. We're all in this together, supporting each other every step of the way. And as we cross the finish line for what will likely be our final run of Drag Week, we can't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment – not just about our own performance, but also about being part of a community that values camaraderie, hard work, and the pursuit of speed.

It's been an incredible journey so far, and I'm honored to have shared it with all of you. As we wrap up Drag Week, I want to extend my gratitude to everyone involved – our team, our friends, our family, and of course, the amazing cars that make this event possible. It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't have wanted to experience it any other way.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat is up 1320 fans we're on the last and final day of drag we date five we are back here at Virginia Motorsports Park all these competitors agency behind me have made it all you do is make a pass down the track and they have completed Drag Week which if you ask any of these guys just completing Drag Week is a huge accomplishment in himself so congrats to everybody that made it back here Tom Bailey is on the property and he said he's gonna try to put up a number today everybody else there they're gunning for it so like I said and congrats to everybody that made it back and let's get to race him I've had this traffic huh content still do anything about this the traffic situation oh my god nothing just nothing Oh rocket ship Gershon was not ready for that we are pulling in checkpoint number one we're rolling with Jorge right now you get it good got a dip the way Oh close little close I like your speaker system very nice factory factory factory a/c have the air-conditioning in there it's pretty good Oh terrible yeah how's it going guys hey troubles right bring a little hot so we stop for a while and let it cool off we're back on the road don't let me keep you see you guys good luck so Christian winter ride in the Tesla so George was kind enough to give you a ride to the checkpoint number one today how was it it was definitely better than I thought it was gonna be like an aster or as far as speed it was fairly accurate to what I thought like after you get going but the initial launch is what like really surprised me like the only thing that I can compare it to is at Cedar Point which is like the big roller coaster music or they have roller coaster called the dragster you'll see it overlaid here because I edit this video anyways it just launches you instantly and the amount of power that you get is so instant alright and there's no spinning or anything like that and then there's not really any sound it's gutted so you hear a little bit of the the battery or like the gears sure but other than that pretty much silent and it's just so weird to be like this is a car but it's the first couple times especially it's like so surprising you get used to it like you do anything else but yeah it was wild and it made me like Tesla's like a lot more yeah and you already liked it yeah okay well it's probably dangerous I'm gonna do a ride from checkpoint 1 to checkpoint 2 since you got to ride and I've also never ridden a Tesla so it'll be new for me yeah and you've been in some crazy stuff I've been in Mo's Lambo so I I can say with some confidence I think you're gonna be at least a little bit surprised well I'm gonna hop in with him you have been here alright and we'll see if we will see you for dinner alright I'll hit you on the walkie hit me on my walk alright alright okay so we just put a little Chris plus mode are you sure you want to push the limits this this will cause accelerated wear of the motor gearbox and battery no I want my mommy yes bring it on that's just cool stuff right there Oh it's like an on/off switch that's crazy I was expecting the first one I was not expecting the second that's like instant torque I just put you the magazine instantly it doesn't hit us harder than here already yeah where it's the highways yeah it's still decent thank you for the ride I think you're gonna join us for dinner is that right okay well I'm gonna hop back in thank you for the ride in the it was an experience that was that was a lot of torque at one time I like the like the Ludacris mode so we're gonna go to the plateau next yes let me give you this in case we need to VidCon you're going to dinner anyway all to get back for you so yeah alright guys we checked in with a couple of racers this is one of the checkpoints right here like I said before nobody's really broken down and set for I did just get a text a few minutes ago from Geo from real street unfortunately they were having some overheating issues on the way and they're they've decided that they're out they don't want to hurt anything which is smart they don't want to hurt the motor hurt the car just to make it to the last track so Gio is out unfortunately different tune up in essence you can you can blow it up if you want to make an improvement so well good luck today well we thank you okay so your goals in 11 that was suggested that wasn't just 11 9 11 327 guys I was like yeah he just left way harder than any other day that was still only a 2 Oh 60-foot so I did a 180 60 foot with just the front engine already so I'm sure I could do that but I can't turn this in I don't have a bark I have to make another pass and get it slower than 11:49 well at least you did your 11 3 yeah thank you alright the last thing I'm gonna annoy you I promise until next year all right what do you trip what's the goal today you're gonna go up and do a conservative pass and then trying to light the world on fire after that or what are you doing sir we might have been the other days so these not considering the fries I'm not gonna say I don't want to jinx it but are you shooting for a number today oh yeah definitely they'll drop Roma days and I wanna write a poem on number good luck today man I'm glad to see you here on the lawn well you blew the tires off I guarantee he's not gonna take that so he's probably gonna take like the pits cooler down make some adjustments I got you an impound today yes they do you just lift the world on fire with that 28 yesterday they had to put you in here somebody somebody I guess it's impressive to me we just did we raced up at four different track four different tracks right this is a fifth day you drove this thing 800 miles I go at the 1919 Frank like I look at this I look at a car like this I'm like okay it's not very reliable all that's but it's if you know how to maintain it like you do every hundred miles your mother - your world is hoppin and all that they can go as long as you want - yeah when we drove it on a cross-country road trip last year really yeah and just a reminder our fans you this is your was that your grandfather bought this thing brand-new yes $3,000 in 1919 that's a lot of money in 1990 it was when you could buy a tea for about 600 yeah so this was a high-end car back that high-end car yes but I found out my 92 year old dad watching your video and you saw me really on one of your videos Jackie had a real charge out of watching his old car that is awesome you're watching dad hi it's it's still running he'll be glad to hear that well thank you so much for talking to me all this week all right I love the car good luck today I'm glad you made it all right thank you two hours later he gets a 30 flat at forty seven mile down it goes through all 1154 22 miles an hour out at the NA Camaro do on the road last night it did really well what's the game plan today well we decided to change our launch setups Carson good back GTS or seventy seven ninety-nine what's the goal today anything in the 7/7 I'll take 87 if we get 170 this might not be a surprise to you but you're the only na car the top ten right I'm sorry so we made the top ten yeah that's really awesome especially na how big is the motor in the success 709 inch 5 inch more spacious four and three quarter inch or with five inch stroke and how much power does Liz you ain't never had on the dyno so I'm sure we estimated in 1314 on our horsepower I'm glad to see you guys made it here on day 5 good luck out there for a 7 man 607 that is the fastest pass in Drag Week history 607 at 2:42 you're not giving up yet well just to let you know that's the quickest pass and drag we history I know you're going for a number but congratulations on that oh thanks yep excited Tom Bailey was to hear 607 he's got one number on his mind and it doesn't start with a six so he's gonna go back pull it off change a couple things go back up take another crack at it what what's the goal today so well no but seven oh dang go see okay three tents out all right let's see so you must be learning the new the new setup okay okay boom little make a pass and get locked in then it will turn it up okay Clark has been trying to get a seven-second pass all week that car is definitely capable of it it's just a new setup new car he had to just creep up on it finally got his 7 on the last day that's awesome our boys with the Ascona showed up a little late today but they did just make it but dude if there's any okay sign them up here even though you guys have a lot of sleep old week one past all you need you did something that a lot of people could be there you know what you did officials Greg weaker your official drag we hear all the troubles all the trouble on the road everything like that and you still made it you just made that pass this means you officially finished drag with congratulations man thank you that's a huge deal give any idea what your time was yes seven I define yep there's a death fast but she's tired now a little tired one and done today you're not gonna try to put a number up later no I don't think so you might have broke her on the phone the last pass yeah yeah a second Festa congratulations Meg that's awesome coming back yeah I'll go get a strap until you back yeah yeah I don't think she was talking more so the Ascona boys knew what they were about to do they knew they'd do and stay together and it didn't they lost oil pressure they blew it up with a the 785 but hey guys Congrats guys finished Drag Week congratulations that's awesome - savages yeah we happy now yeah 599's 250 sweet good yeah damn it monkey on your back quickest and fastest man in drag we history right there it's gotta feel good I'm going to finish the week hell
