Samsung S9_ S9+ vs iPhone X vs Galaxy Note 8 Battery Life DRAIN TEST

**Battery Drain Test: A Comprehensive Analysis**

The battery drain test was designed to put various smartphones through their paces and determine which ones could withstand prolonged usage without succumbing to power exhaustion. The test involved downloading several intensive games, including Angry Birds Go!, Real Racing 3, and Super Mario Run, to see how each phone's battery life would fare under the strain.

The results were nothing short of impressive, with some phones performing far better than others. At 30 minutes into the test, four out of five phones had reached around 50% battery life, showcasing their ability to handle demanding tasks without running out of juice quickly. The iPhone was noticeably lagging behind its competitors, struggling to maintain a respectable battery life even under mild usage.

As we continued with the test, things only got more interesting. One phone stood head and shoulders above the rest: the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. This powerhouse device managed to cling on for dear life, surviving the onslaught of demanding games and apps that would have wiped out other phones cold. The iPhone 10 fared reasonably well, but it was clear that this phone's battery life was not as robust as some of its competitors.

However, when we threw in a new variable – the Nokia 8 – things took a turn for the worse. This phone fell woefully short of the others, struggling to make even 4 hours and 33 minutes before succumbing to power exhaustion. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 fared slightly better, but it was still far behind the pack. Meanwhile, the iPhone 10 continued to surprise us with its impressive battery life.

**The Standout Performer: S9 Plus**

As we delved deeper into the test results, one thing became clear: the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus was a force to be reckoned with when it came to battery life. This phone's ability to survive for 6 hours and 34 minutes under intense usage was nothing short of remarkable. The fact that it managed to outlast even the most demanding smartphones in the test spoke volumes about its capabilities.

In comparison, the other phones simply couldn't match the S9 Plus's performance. The iPhone 10 put up a good fight, but ultimately fell behind by significant margins. The Nokia 8 was left in the dust, struggling to make it past the 4-hour mark. Even the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 fared poorly, its battery life barely scraping above 5 hours and 24 minutes.

**A New Leader Emerges: OnePlus 5T**

In a shocking turn of events, the OnePlus 5T emerged as the new king of battery life. This phone's ability to survive for an astonishing 6 hours and 10 minutes under intense usage was unprecedented. The fact that it outperformed even the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus spoke volumes about its impressive capabilities.

The iPhone 10, meanwhile, continued to surprise us with its decent battery life, but ultimately fell behind by significant margins. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 fared poorly, while the Nokia 8 remained in the dust. As we continue to analyze the results of this test, it's clear that the OnePlus 5T is a powerhouse when it comes to battery life.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, our battery drain test revealed some fascinating insights into the capabilities of various smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus emerged as a standout performer, showcasing its impressive ability to survive under intense usage. The OnePlus 5T took the crown, outlasting even the most demanding phones in the test. Meanwhile, the Nokia 8 struggled to keep up, while the iPhone 10 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 fared reasonably well but ultimately fell behind.

As we continue to analyze these results, it's clear that battery life is an area where some smartphones truly shine. Whether you're a heavy gamer or just someone who likes to stay connected throughout the day, knowing which phones can handle your needs without running out of power can be a lifesaver. We'll continue to explore this topic in future articles and tests.

so the game we're playing right now is called free fire and you may be able to tell they're basically completely ripped off player unknowns battlegrounds I don't blame them it's pretty popular right now but if you combine the high data bandwidth this is using as well as some pretty poor optimization and some decent looking graphics this should be pretty demanding on battery life and sure enough after just 10 minutes of that we've knocked a good chunk of battery life off all the fans most notably the Nokia and the iPhone 10 has now almost completely equalized with the s-line + + 1 + 5 T which amazingly are still completely neck-and-neck the exact same percentage the note 8 has fallen quite a lot behind quite quickly but that is to be expected and considering how similar it is to the s9 in terms of battery capacity screen resolution amount of RAM and the general software experience a lot of the benefit we're seeing on Samsung's new phone is probably because of the new generation of chips so that's something as expected antutu benchmark seems to be running them down pretty well indeed so we're on that a couple more times before we switch up to some gaming worth noting is the score that the new s9 + gets which is a good 10 percent above every other phone but we will run some other benchmarks to get a bit of a better idea of performance notably Geekbench which is fair to say a little bit more of a boring one to watch but nonetheless we'll run it very quickly just to see how the phones perform and of course drain battery and in this the iPhone 10 is actually the winner by quite a long stretch it could be an optimization issue on Android but at the same time the a 11 Bionic chip in the iPhone is still meant to be quite a bit ahead of its too the iPhone 10 has slipped into third place now but notably not by as much as in some of our previous battery tests so what seems to have happened is progressive iOS updates might have improved its battery life a little bit which is completely plausible considering when the iPhone 10 released a lot of iOS had to be reworked because of the lack of home button which does leave room for initial in efficiencies so if you managed to keep track of all of this while also peering out the phone on the right-hand side you might realize we are well into three hours of this test and the only phone I'd say isn't forming too well is the Nokia three hours and 30 minutes into this pretty intensive battery drain test and the other four phones are quite close to 50 percent battery so what we're doing now is heading on to the Play Store or App Store on the iPhone and downloading Angry Birds go which is a pretty intensive racing game made by a review the same company that made the original Angry Birds whilst the s9 and the oneplus are still trading blows at the top the nokia has really fallen away from the pack this is a phone that we've never really included in the past in our detailed battery drain tests they're safe to say it's nothing short of a poor performing phone in this area and there's not really much of an excuse for it whilst it does have a higher resolution display the actual display size is the smallest of the bunch that should somewhat compensate for it recording 4k 30 frames per second video and all the phone's should be a pretty demanding task - and that knocks the Nokia down to single digits the note 8 isn't keeping it too well either it is now 15 percentage points behind the s 9 + which has cemented its lead over the 1 + 5 t and that seems like cause for celebration that is really really impressive the 1 + 5 t were using here is literally fresh out the box that has had less than 10 charging cycles so this test can't even have been spoiled by having used it for a long period of time this is impressive one final set of particle simulations has sent the knock you to the grave but surprisingly the iPhone 10 is relatively unfazed we know the battery life of this phone is quite a bit better than the iPhone 8 but I was not expecting it to hold up this well against the other two phones so we've got Real Racing 3 pulled up here so this should put a pretty serious dent in battery life and for the sake of variety we're going to close that and open up one or game that's gonna be Super Mario run just because it's a pretty standard pretty popular game that a lot of people will play almost immediately within minutes of loading this game up the Galaxy Note 8 packs it in and calls it a day no surprises there a hung on pretty well considering how low the percentage was the F in town is hanging in there pretty well but the last 10 percentage points is really where the AI friends historically have just shot down straight to zeros so we'll see if that happens here it would be interesting to see how the standard Galaxy S line compares against these other phones compared to the Plus it does have less processing power and a slightly smaller display but to compensate alts of a smaller battery capacity my hunch would be that it would last just a little bit less in the S line plus but we'll have to test that let me know if you want to see that in a video as expected the last 10 percentage points is pretty dramatic and a1 plus 5t is truly strengthened its lead over the iPhone 10 and the Samsung Galaxy S line plus over the 1 plus 5t or compared the exact survival times just after these two phones have run out but the very fact where the s9 plus is beating the 5t it's unprecedented the phone is still clinging on even fifteen minutes after this albeit just by a thread or any youtube streaming here so we're not expecting it killed battery really quickly if this was antutu benchmark it would have been a bit of a different story but i'm trying to keep the test as balanced as possible sure enough at 6 hours and 34 minutes that is a really long time the 5 t calls it a day so what are the final results how much did the Galaxy S 9 plus be the 1 + 5 t by and I guess more interestingly how badly -
