The Meaning of Beauty: A Fall Makeup Look Complimenting Gray Hair
As I sat down to record this makeup tutorial, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to partner with Ulta Beauty on their campaign, The Meaning of Beauty. This campaign resonates deeply with me, as I believe that true beauty is not just about physical appearance, but also about confidence, self-acceptance, and caring for others.
For me, the meaning of beauty is being caring and compassionate towards others. It's about embracing individuality and celebrating our differences. As someone who has dealt with gray hair, I know how hard it can be to find makeup that complements this color. But today, I want to show you a fall makeup look that not only makes gray hair shine, but also exudes confidence and self-assurance.
To start, I will apply a lightweight foundation that matches my skin tone. This will provide an even base for the rest of my makeup. Next, I'll add a subtle blush to the apples of my cheeks to give my face a healthy glow. I'll choose a shade that complements my gray hair and adds a touch of warmth to my complexion.
Now it's time to highlight my features with some bronzer. Since gray hair can sometimes wash out the skin tones, we want to add as much bronzing and warmer tones as possible to create a sun-kissed effect. I'll use a small brush to apply the bronzer to the outer V part of my eye and bring it in halfway down my cheekbone.
Moving on to the eyes, I will begin by applying a light eyeshadow all over my lid. This will provide a neutral base for the rest of my look. Next, I'll add a darker shade to the crease to create depth and dimension. I'll use a tapered blending brush to sweep this color across my eye, making sure to blend it seamlessly into the rest of the eyeshadow.
To add some warmth and depth to my eyes, I'll apply a metallic eyeshadow to the inner corner of my lid. This will help to brighten up the area and create a beautiful contrast with the darker shades in the crease. Finally, I'll line my waterline with a black eyeliner and smudge it slightly to create a soft, subtle effect.
Now that we have our eyes looking stunning, let's move on to the lips. For this look, I will be using two lipstick colors: a lighter shade called Stockholm and a deeper brown shade called Berlin. These shades complement each other perfectly and will add a touch of sophistication to my overall look. I'll apply Berlin to the inner part of my lips and Stockholm to the middle part, creating a beautiful ombre effect.
To finish off this look, I'll add some mascara to make my lashes stand out. This is one of my favorite mascaras, Lash Sensational by Maybelline, which gives me long, voluminous lashes without any clumping or flaking.
Finally, let's not forget about the highlighter! As someone with gray hair, I know how hard it can be to find a highlighter that complements this color. But today, I want to show you a liquid highlighter called Custom Enhancer Drops by Cover FX in color Sunlight. This will give my skin a radiant and luminous glow without looking too harsh or overpowering.
And there we have it! A fall makeup look that not only makes gray hair shine but also exudes confidence and self-assurance. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more beauty content in the future. Thank you so much for watching!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- Hey it's Maryam.Today I wanted to do a full makeup lookthat compliments gray hair.I wanted to thank Ulta Beautyfor partnering up with mefor this fall makeup look. And having me to bepart of their campaign,The Meaning of Beauty. There are so manypossibilities with Ulta beauty. You can do your makeup, youcan get your hair done there.I had the best experiencegoing to their salon. For the first time, they colored my ombre.I had it done in a salon by a professional'cause I usually do it myself. They did this beautifulburgundy, purple ombreand they put some glaze on my gray hairto get, add depth anddimension to my gray hair.So it was really fun to be thereand enjoy the salonand be pampered for once.(laughs)As a mom, it's reallyimportant to get pampered.Today, I wanted to show youhow to do this fall makeup look using makeupthat you find at Ulta Beauty.First I'm gonna startby hydrating the skin. This is Peter ThomasRoth's Hydrating Cream. It's called Water DrenchHyaluronic Cloud Cream. And it's really amazing. It's very lightweight.I love using this before applying makeup. So, a little bit of it goes a long way.You just put it all over.I even try to go under my eyes'cause it really helps hydrate.I'm gonna prime my skin.I'm gonna use thisL'oreal primer, it's calledMagic Perfecting Baseand I really like thisfor enlarged pores areas.I only focus it in my cheek areaaround my nose and around my mouth'cause that is the problem areas for me.And I do go on my cheeks tokind of even out the texture on my cheeks. Now I'm gonna use this Cover FX,Natural Finish Foundation. This foundation is very lightweight.Specially if you are matureand you have fine lines and wrinkles. It's doesn't sink into your fine lines. It's really perfection.I love using thisI should say, I'm usinga damp Beauty Blender. It really helps sheer out your foundation. And now we're gonna conceal under eyes.I like using this NARS concealer. It is Radiant Creamy Concealer. The best way to applyconcealer is with your fingers.Truly I feel like that isthe best way to apply itbecause it melts the product into the skinand it just gives you the best coverage. Now, meaning of beauty to me isbeing caring and lovingand encouraging to others. That is the true meaning of beauty to me.And also it's about confidence.I feel like confidence isthe most important thing to have. For example, for mewhen I was transitioningto my gray hair, I was havinga really tough time accepting itbecause I was always coloring my hairand because of allergiesI had to stop coloring, and that was a really,a big shocker and I didn't knowhow to deal with this.I had to embrace it, no matter what.It was not a choice for me.So, what I did was decided to reallystyle it the best way I couldusing products that helped my hair, add shine to my hair, add brightness to my gray hair.So that's what gave me the confidenceto keep going with the transition. And if you're goingthrough the same thing,I wanna encourage you, don't give up.And you can get yourhair to look beautifuland just style it the way you love itand you'll have theconfidence to go out thereand show the world.I'm gonna be using this Becca powder. It's called Hydra-Mistset and Refresh Powder. This really keeps yourface looking fresh and amazing. And it's very very lightweight. So if you have dry skin,if you have fine lines,it's not gonna accentuate those areas. It's gonna make it look justreally nice and flawless.I'm gonna do my brows off camerabecause it takes me a little whileto get it perfect(laughs)and soI'm gonna do that and I'll be right back. Now I'm gonna prime my eyelids. You can use any kind of primer you like. Some people even primetheir eyelids with concealerwhich is fine. For me, it doesn't reallywork, concealer alonebecause I have oily eyelidsso it, for me it's better to use a primerthat's specific for eyeshadow.I am going to use two eyeshadows. One of them is by Anastasia Beverly Hills. It is the Soft Glam Palette. It is a beautiful palette. There's a lot of beautiful neutrals. And this fall look, oh my gosh,it's going to be amazingbecause it's brown. And brown, it's just a very universalcolor you can use for your eyes. So, I thought this would bea beautiful palette to use, especially these gorgeous browns. So we're gonna be digging into those.I'm gonna set it with this color.I'm using a tapered blending brushand just sweeping this back and forthon the eyelids.Gray hair washes out the skin toneso you wanna add as much bronzingand warmer tones as possible. So I'm gonna use this colorcalled Sienna into the mixso I'm gonna use the same brushand I'm gonna go right over on my outer, the outer V part of my eyeand just bring it in halfway. Now I'm gonna go into a darker shade.I'm gonna use this dark shade. This shade is called Cyprus Umber. It's a darker brown. Now that you finishedlaying down the eyeshadow, take a clean blendingbrush and just kind ofblend it into the rest of the eyeshadows.I'm gonna finish off the lookusing this Estee LauderBronze Goddess Palette. It is the Goddess Glow.It has eight beautifulshades, metallic and matte. And it's $39 and it's exclusive at Ulta. It's gonna launch this month so make sureto check out all thechannels for Ulta Beautyfor the launch of this beautiful palette. So I'm gonna start byputting this beautiful, metallic color on my eyelids. So you wanna start byfrom the midpoint of your eyelidand then go to the inner corner. With the same brush,I'm gonna use this colorand I'm gonna pack thatjust in the inner corner.Actually if you want to,you can get a smaller brushand really go in and giveyourself a beautiful highlight.I'm using the lightestshade in the palette.I'm gonna go back tothe Anastasia of Beverly Hills Soft Glam.So I'm gonna start withthis shade right here. Then I'm gonna use this darker shadeand I'm gonna use thisonly on the outer partof my lower lash line. And then you wanna extend ita little bit high like this.Just gonna extend it upso it blends with your top lid.I'm gonna take a clean brushand put this on the very, not quite on your brown bonebut right in between your brow boneand your crease shade. You wanna just kinda sweep back and forth. You can use a black eyelineror a brown eyeliner.I'm gonna use a black one andI'm gonna line my water line.Get a small brush anduse some black eyeshadow. And go right on the edge, right over your lash line. This smokey eye is so beautifulthat it doesn't really need tohave that dramatic false lash look.It just doesn't need that much drama. It already stands on its own.I'm gonna use this mascara. This is by Maybelline. It's by far my favorite drugstore mascara. It is called Lash Sensational.I usually apply two tothree coats of mascarato my lashes. Now we're finished with the eyes. We're gonna move on to the face.I'm just gonna put a littlebit of bronzer on my cheeksjust to add some color to my face. When you have gray hair, you wanna put bronzeron your hairline areaand your forehead and your temples. And you just wanna kind ofadd more bronzy color to your skin. You don't have to go overboard.Just a touch of bronzer is amazing.I'm gonna use some blushbecause blush is definitelyreally helpful to bringmore color into the face.I'm gonna blend two lipstick colors. These are by Nyx.One is Stockholm, this lighter shade. And Berlin, this beautiful brown shade. So I'm gonna use Berlin onthe inner part of my lipsand I'm gonna use thisStockholm in the middle part. This is a great techniqueif you have thinner lipsto make your lips look fuller. The best thing you want to use over 40is using cream or liquid highlighters. And this is a very nice liquidhighlighter by Cover FX.It's called Custom Enhancer Dropsand it's in color Sunlight.Just one or two dots is enough. And use your damp BeautyBlender and blend it in.This is the final look. This is how you complimentgray hair with makeup.I wanted to thank Ulta Beautyfor partnering up with mefor this fall makeup look, complimenting gray hair.Thank you so much for watching.I hope that you enjoyed this video. If you liked it, pleasegive this video a thumbs up.And don't forget tosubscribe to my channel, and I will
