The iPhone 15 series has been making headlines recently, with rumors surrounding changes to the device's button layout and color options. According to recent rumors, the new mute button will replace the switch on the iPhone 15 Pro, allowing users to quickly access the phone's settings without having to navigate through menus. This change is expected to cause some confusion for iPhone users, as every year Apple switches up the way that you force restart your device. The new design could make it even more challenging for users to figure out how to power off their devices.
Another rumor suggests that the action button will replace the volume buttons in the camera application on the iPhone 15 Pro and other models. This change would allow users to quickly take a photo by pressing the volume up button, eliminating the need to navigate through menus or use the camera app's main screen. While this change might seem minor, it could lead to confusion for many iPhone users who are accustomed to using their devices in certain ways.
A separate rumor from someone with a track record of predicting correct color leaks suggests that the iPhone 15 regular models will feature a Frosted matte finish similar to the Pro Models on the 14 series. Additionally, the 15 and 15 Plus models are expected to be available in a new cyan green color. However, it's worth noting that Apple usually sticks to a consistent color scheme for their devices, so it's unclear if this rumor will hold true.
Some speculate that the regular iPhone 15 colors may differ from the Pro model colors, with green potentially being the standard color and red possibly reserved for the Pro models. While these are just rumors, they highlight the excitement surrounding the upcoming iPhone 15 series and the anticipation among fans to see what Apple has in store for them.
One of the most recent and interesting stories involving air tags is a tale from Washington D.C. where a man's BMW was carjacked while he unloaded groceries. The thief demanded the keys, stole the BMW, and threw out an iPhone that had been attached to the car keys via an air tag. However, unbeknownst to the thief, another air tag was hidden inside the car, which eventually led to its location through a find my app on the victim's wife's iPhone. The police found the stolen car within an hour of being alerted to its location, and it had already suffered significant damage due to a shootout with bullet holes covering the vehicle.
The thief was arrested soon after, thanks in large part to the hidden air tag. This story showcases the potential for air tags to be used as tracking devices, allowing users to recover their stolen belongings quickly and efficiently. As air tags become more widely available and affordable, it's likely that we'll see even more stories like this one.
Finally, a notable mention is an auction for a new sealed iPhone 2G, the original iPhone, which recently took place. The device was found with a rare red sticker, which added to its value. Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) of YouTube won the auction and unboxed the iPhone in a recent video. If you're interested in seeing this story unfold, I've included a link to the video in the description below.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and welcome back to Apple weekly in this episode we're going to talk about the latest in the world of iOS including 16.5 and 16.4.1 we're also going to talk about the two big features that Apple just dropped this past week one of them that could be potentially life-saving we're going to talk about why the iPhone 15 is going to confuse a lot of people a big update on Apple's upcoming AR VR headset and much more and as always if you want to stay updated with all things Apple click that subscribe button down below and also check out the free Apple Den newsletter linked down in the description below alright so let's start with a quick refresher on the latest IOS releases so we have IOS 16.4.1 which is the latest release for the public and we have IOS 16.5 beta 2 which is the latest release for beta testers now as far as iOS 16.4.1 goes there seems to be some type of confusion out there for some users because I've seen people DM me referencing a tick tock video that told them not to update for some strange reason that the person didn't even talk about but I can tell you right now you want to update to 16.4.1 unless you are trying to do like some type of jailbreaking or you know something else on your device there's no reason not to be on 16.4.1 16.4 had multiple security vulnerabilities that were being actively exploited and 16.4.1 patches those so your device is going to be more secure and you're not going to have any type of impact to battery life or performance now on the other hand iOS 16.5 is a software that I would not recommend you update your daily device to at least not yet we are currently on the second developer beta and public beta as well but I did want to touch on a few things with this software because I did notice I actually tried this myself now that you can indeed install software updates when you have less than 50 battery remaining so if I go into my software updates here you are always able to download the software if you had less than 50 left but you were never able to install all unless you had you know over 50 or you're plugged in to a charger but now you can do that all the way down to twenty percent now also inside of the News application we do have that Sports tab down there at the bottom but we also have a new feature for TV OS if you're on the latest TV OS beta so as you can see here we now have multi-view for sports streaming so I know a lot of people have really clowned on Apple for not having this for so long but now you can watch multiple sports streams at the same time with this new multiview feature which is included in tvos 16.5 but as far as performance and battery life goes I don't want to sound like a broken record and just keep repeating myself so I'm not going to I will just say that everything is fine with both 16.4.1 and 16.5 beta 2. really no issues in regards to Performance or battery life and I do have a few bugs like minor UI bugs but really nothing that impacts the performance greatly especially compared to previous versions so really no complaints in terms of stability and battery life on either version so now let's talk about what to expect next from Apple so next up is going to be iOS 16.5 of beta 3. so that is coming next week on the week of the 24th Apple did skip a week here the week of the 17th was skipped but we will see beta 3 most likely on Tuesday the 25th if Apple keeps the trend with going with Tuesdays and I do believe that this is going to be the last week that Apple skips for a beta at least for 16.5 so after beta 3 it's only going to be one week between beta so we'll see beta 4 on the week of May 1st now as far as iOS 16.4.2 I think that if we're going to see that at all it's going to come right here next week on the week of the 24th I think that if we don't see a 16.4.2 you know by the time April ends we're not going to see it at all I think that we're going to go to 16.5 which should come out at some point in May so let's see if we get beta 3 next week beta 4 on the week of May 1st and then after that I could see us getting an RC so we might get an RC on the week of the eighth and then a final on the week of the 15th if not on the 15th itself and then after 15.5 the next like single point update is going to be 16.6 and that's likely going to come at some point in July because of course right there in June on that first week of June on the 5th we're going to see the worldwide developers conference and iOS 17. now moving on to some other iOS related news Purdue University which is a college in Indiana is now supporting student IDs in the wallet application so new undergrads are no longer going to have to have the plastic ID card that we've all had in our life you're never going to have to use that anymore on the campus Because it's going to be straight in at the wallet application Apple also finally launched their high yield savings account with Goldman Sachs this was announced back in October and now it is finally available for us Apple card holders now this has a 4.15 percent apy AI which is pretty solid that's pretty competitive in today's landscape there's also no fees no minimum balance requirements you get instant access to the cash you can deposit money from any other bank account and there's a 250 000 maximum which is FDIC insured and what's awesome is that I open this account in like two minutes all I had to do was verify my social security number and agree to some terms and I had my account opened up right here and I also get this cool graph that's going to look really awesome over time to see all of my money compounding oh and fun fact if you deposit twenty five thousand dollars into this account you're gonna get a free iPhone every year because you're going to get over a thousand dollars in interest a year which means you could use that money to buy a new iPhone I know that's not the best way to look at it but that is one fun fact I wanted to throw out there another feature that is finally here after being announced a while back is the homepod sound recognition feature so if you have a homepod or homepod mini and you are updated to 16.4 or later and you did the home architecture upgrade if you tap on these three dots go to home settings you will see a section here for Safety and Security if you go into that you will see sound recognition up top and you will see the toggles for your home pods now I did notice that it doesn't toggle for stereo pairs you have to remove the stereo pair and then turn it on and then you know you can make them a stereo pair again but anyways what this does is it detects the sound of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and when it hears that alarm it will send you a notification like this that says an alarm sound was detected and when you tap on that you're able to check in to hear what's going on to be able to hear what the homepod hears and also ask if everything is okay so you can have kind of a two-way conversation and Siri will also announce to those at home or those around that homepod that a home member is checking in and to make this feature even more useful if there's a home kit camera in that same space in that same room the video feed will also be included in the notification here so I think this feature is Domino because think about it if you're out getting groceries you know you're picking out your fruit and then all of a sudden you get a notification that a smoke alarm was detected you're going to be able to call the police you're going to be able to call emergency services and maybe your neighbor and help them get that dog and that cat out of your house or maybe if there's somebody sleeping at home you know you can call them and wake them up and potentially Save a Life let alone your own house like you're going to be able to get ahead of the game you know by knowing knowing that an alarm is going off if you're not there so I think that this feature alone is almost worth the sub 90 price tag for a homepod at many these days so I think this feature is awesome definitely recommend you turn this on if you care about your house or you know your own life or other people's lives especially your pets now here's one that I know is going to cause some controversy Twitter has just started removing the blue check mark from Legacy verified users of course I was one of those Legacy verified users I am paying for Twitter blue now just because all the cool features you get with it but if you were verified beforehand you are no longer verified on Twitter unless you pay for Twitter blue which is pretty interesting you see a lot of celebrities now that are not verified and looks kind of funny Snapchat also just got an update which gives you this really strange my AI chat bot at the very top so it does integrate with chat GPT now and it's just always at the top of your conversations view right here which I'm personally not a fan of if you tap on it right there you get this cool background you could ask it something and it comes back and gives you a response that chatgpt would so it's pretty cool to have this integrated but I'm just not a fan of it being stuck at the very top of your conversations View and this update also includes the find my style live location sharing so if you have locations of people on your Snapchat on the snap map it will now show them moving in real time like you get on the find my application the zoom application also gets a ton of new features in this new 5.14 at 0.5 update so we have Dynamic Island support we have where you can hide incoming calls while in a meeting we have dark mode for zoom calendar multiple new features for meeting for webinar for team chat and also a lot of bug fixes as well so a pretty big update for the zoo map also the first retail stores in India opened this past week so the Mumbai store opened on the 18th and the New Delhi store opened on the 20th and the pictures of these look amazing I wish I could see these in person maybe I will one day but Tim Cook was at the opening for the stores you could see a lot of people very excited including this person who brought this Old Mac which did get signed by Tim Cook which is pretty neat all right so now let's move on to the main news section of this episode alright so let's start on a serious note change your iPhone passcode right now change your iPhone passcode and why am I saying this well because we just got an update to the big bombshell story that the Wall Street Journal published in February about how thieves are targeting people in public places that are typing in the passcode to their phone so basically these thieves are seeing somebody typing in their passcode of their phone and with access to that passcode they are able to not only get into the phone and drain every financial and banking application and steal all their money but also they're able to turn off find my and change the password to their Apple ID just because you need only the passcode to change that in your iPhone and that was a big deal when we talked about it in February you know I warned you guys back then but this gets even deeper and it gets even worse than it already was because they just published this report and it shows that thieves are now taking this scheme a step further by locking innocent users completely out of their Apple ID account for good how are they doing this well because that passcode is the golden key and allows you to set a recovery key in the iCloud settings and if you don't store this key somewhere if you don't have access to this key you're basically out of luck you're not getting back into your Apple ID there's been even people sending Apple like their driver's license their you know a DNA sample and Apple's still not giving them their account back because that record is not on file like their DNA is obviously not on file so they're not able to get their account back because they don't have this recovery key that some thieve you know set themselves so they basically are locked out of their Apple ID for good they don't have their contacts their photos you know anything their notes anything just imagine losing all that on top of your iPhone like losing your iPhone is one thing but losing all of your data and never being able to get it back is a whole nother level of like the dangers of just putting in your passcode out in public so if you don't want this happening to you there are a few things you can do number one just don't type in your passcode in public like I cannot tell you the last time I did that just because I'm very aware of my surroundings but always use face ID now sometimes of course you do have to put in your passcode but kind of just you know look around or tilt your phone down and type in your passcode but always use face ID or touch ID and the second thing you could do is kind of what I alluded to at the very beginning change your passcode don't use a four digit passcode even a six digit passcode is pretty easy to memorize eyes and that's why I think that an alphanumeric passcode is like the ultimate level because a thief is not even going to bother if they have to try to memorize and you know watch what you're typing in they'll find somebody that's easier that has a four or six digit passcode and again four digit is really the one that you do not want to do especially if it's just like repeating numbers change that ASAP and there is that little content and privacy restriction and screen time but you can bypass that and a thief who's going to have knowledge of apple and iOS is going to know how to bypass that so that's not really a fix I would not really you know rely on that as saving you alright so let's move on to something a little bit more positive let's get the The Vibes back up here so let's talk about WWDC which we are less than two months away from and this is going to be a big one Mark German just dropped a report and it starts off by saying Apple's June worldwide developers conference is shaping up to be one of the biggest product launch events ever he then says the mixed reality headset will be the star of the show but the annual conference will be packed with other products too that includes new Mac laptops and the biggest update to the Apple watch software since the first version was introduced in 2015 so it doesn't really elaborate much on watch OS 10. he kind of just tells us that it's going to be a big update in the user interface is going to change so maybe we get a whole new home screen for watch OS 10 that would be nice but aside from the headset and that software he does say that some Macs are coming at this event and those new MacBooks are likely going to be the 15-inch MacBook Air and updated 13-inch MacBook Air and an entry level 13 inch MacBook Pro now it does also mention a new 24 inch iMac the Mac Pro and the high-end MacBook Pros but those are all likely coming in you know maybe Q4 of this year or early next year and then adding on to the pretty much confirmed at this point 15 inch MacBook Air Ming Chi quo chimed in and said this the upcoming 15 inch MacBook Air will feature the M2 series and offer two processor spec options however two options are more likely to be M2 with different cores similar to the M2 a 13 inch MacBook Air mass production of M3 chip is anticipated to begin in the second half of this year slightly ahead of the M3 Pro and M3 Max the shipment estimation for the 15 inch MacBook Air is five to six million units so yeah again pretty much confirms what we talked about last week that we're going to see an M2 Chip in this 15 inch MacBook Air not M3 and now a lot of people are disappointed by that I'm kind of disappointed but at the same time you know a 15-inch MacBook Air the big selling point here is the size not necessarily having the latest and greatest chip so I'm not too mad about this I will definitely still be picking up a 15 inch MacBook Air now I know you guys are tired of hearing about it but we did just get a big report from Mark German again on Apple's AR VR headsets and what it's going to entail and again this is going to be the star of the show so there's a lot to talk about here there's a lot of moving Parts it's a brand new software brand new product so German just dropped a nice scoop on this headset he said this a big part of the effort is adapting iPad apps for the new headset set which blends virtual and augmented reality users will be able to access millions of existing apps from third-party developers via the new 3D interface the push will include optimized versions of the Safari web browser and Apple's services for calendars contacts files home control mail Maps messaging notes photos and reminders as well as its music news stocks and weather apps there also will be a version of the FaceTime conferencing service and Apple's TV app they're also working on a version of Apple Books for the headset that's going to allow users to read in virtual reality and also they are testing a camera app where you can take pictures from the headsets on the wellness front an app will help wearers meditate with a series of common Graphics sounds and voiceovers along with a Fitness Plus service which will let users exercise while watching an instructor in VR aside from gaming which of course is going to be a big part of the headset apple is also planning to position this headset as a device for getting work done so they're saying it's going to have support for Pages numbers and Keynotes along with iMovie and Garageband for video and music production and he mentions a lot more about what's to come in this headset in the report so I will leave that linked below if you want to read every detail about it but this is just very interesting and I really cannot wait to see how Apple talks about this on stage like what they reveal because I feel like a lot of this is going to come much further down the road besides the default applications like a lot of this stuff like especially gaming and things like that are going to be a very slow process I feel like so it's going to be interesting to see what Apple says on stage at the worldwide developers conference and I cannot wait to see you know how this is positioned in the market and speaking of the headset I promise this is the last segment of this video where I'm going to talk about the headset but somebody who is not a huge fan of it just a few months ago is now apparently Blown Away by the headset according to Evan Blass a person I know who's had several opportunities to demo the upcoming headsets has gone from lamenting it's underwear developing capabilities to being blown away by the experience that the latest hardware and firmware delivers he later elaborated the full quote by saying the leap they've made since last year is giant I was so skeptical now I'm blown away and a take my money kind of way and that quote gets me pretty excited so bring on the three thousand dollar headset Apple I am ready now moving on to the iPhone 15 because every week it seems like we're getting a new rumor or a new leak about what's coming or what's not coming and we have even more to share this week so first off Force restarting the iPhone 15 is going to be different than anything in the past according to this recent rumor and that's due to the new mute button replacing the switch so we don't know the exact combination yet but we are hearing that the iPhone 15 Pro's action button is going to replace the role of the volume buttons when you're going to do a you know force restart or a power off we're also hearing a similar change is going to occur in the camera application as well where the action button is going to replace the volume up button for taking a photo quickly and this of course is going to confuse a lot of people like every year every time Apple switches up the way that you like force restart your device so many people are confused so this time it's going to be even more confusing for iPhone 15 users now we also got a separate rumor from somebody who actually has a track record so they predicted the correct color for the iPhone 14. they gave multiple hints at yellow being the color for the iPhone 14 before it was announced they were the first person to say that and now they're back with more rumors number one saying that the iPhone 15 the regular iPhone 15 models are going to get the Frosted matte finish like the Pro Models had on the 14 series the 14 Pros he's also saying that the 15 and 15 plus will be available in a new cyan green color and he does have a track record for color leaks so this could be the case you know since he did get the yellow iPhone 14 right he could be right about the color here now we did also hear red is coming so maybe red is going to be the pro color and green is going to be the regular 15 color I don't know Apple usually likes to keep them the same color for you know the new color of the year it's usually the same for the pros and the regulars but who knows at this point what that new color is going to be and then finally you know it it's time for our weekly crazy air tags story it's crazy how every single week I can find a brand new story that has to do with the air tags and catching a thief or leading to something wild it's it's just crazy how much these air tags are in headlines these days but you guys love it so I'm going to keep bringing you these air tag stories so this time a man in Washington DC was unloading groceries from his BMW when a sketchy car pulled up at the house and a man holding a pistol hopped out demanding the keys so the carjacker stole the BMW which had the man's keys and iPhone inside the carjacker threw the victim's iPhone out the window along with an air tag that he found attached to the car keys but what the thief didn't know was that there was a another air tag hidden inside the car and the thief never found that one of course so since the man who got robbed didn't have his iPhone he used his wife's iPhone to show police the find my app and where that stolen car was located thanks to that hidden air tag and then once police found the car just an hour later it had already been in a shootout with bullet holes all over the car and the car was deemed a total loss by Insurance due to that and the fact that the oil pan was leaking from driving through yards all of that happened in a day that's crazy but the thief was arrested the next day and the reason he was arrested so quickly is all thanks to that hidden air tag so I've said it before and I'll keep saying it make sure you have like a hidden air tag and all your belongings not just your car but especially your car make sure you have an air tag in your car and don't just put it where it's open you know put it somewhere hidden in your car and it's the same with backpacks or anything try to hide the air tag as much as possible but anyways yeah just a crazy story about the air attacks now before we go I did also want to mention mentioned that a couple weeks ago I mentioned how there was an auction for a new sealed iPhone 2g the original iPhone and it had this cool little red sticker on it that was pretty rare and it sold for forty thousand dollars so you guys probably remember that if you watch all my Apple weekly episodes you'll probably remember me covering that and I said how the person got a pretty good deal well that person was Marquez Brownlee MKBHD here on YouTube and he actually just unboxed that iPhone that he won at auction for forty thousand dollars so if you want to check out that video I will leave it linked down in the description below it's a pretty interesting one but anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did I would appreciate if you gave it a thumbs up also make sure to subscribe for more Apple weekly episodes I dropped these every single weekwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and welcome back to Apple weekly in this episode we're going to talk about the latest in the world of iOS including on if you care about your house or you know your own life or other people's lives especially your pets now here's one that I know is going to cause some controversy Twitter has just started removing the blue check mark from Legacy verified users of course I was one of those Legacy verified users I am paying for Twitter blue now just because all the cool features you get with it but if you were verified beforehand you are no longer verified on Twitter unless you pay for Twitter blue which is pretty interesting you see a lot of celebrities now that are not verified and looks kind of funny Snapchat also just got an update which gives you this really strange my AI chat bot at the very top so it does integrate with chat GPT now and it's just always at the top of your conversations view right here which I'm personally not a fan of if you tap on it right there you get this cool background you could ask it something and it comes back and gives you a response that chatgpt would so it's pretty cool to have this integrated but I'm just not a fan of it being stuck at the very top of your conversations View and this update also includes the find my style live location sharing so if you have locations of people on your Snapchat on the snap map it will now show them moving in real time like you get on the find my application the zoom application also gets a ton of new features in this new 5.14 at 0.5 update so we have Dynamic Island support we have where you can hide incoming calls while in a meeting we have dark mode for zoom calendar multiple new features for meeting for webinar for team chat and also a lot of bug fixes as well so a pretty big update for the zoo map also the first retail stores in India opened this past week so the Mumbai store opened on the 18th and the New Delhi store opened on the 20th and the pictures of these look amazing I wish I could see these in person maybe I will one day but Tim Cook was at the opening for the stores you could see a lot of people very excited including this person who brought this Old Mac which did get signed by Tim Cook which is pretty neat all right so now let's move on to the main news section of this episode alright so let's start on a serious note change your iPhone passcode right now change your iPhone passcode and why am I saying this well because we just got an update to the big bombshell story that the Wall Street Journal published in February about how thieves are targeting people in public places that are typing in the passcode to their phone so basically these thieves are seeing somebody typing in their passcode of their phone and with access to that passcode they are able to not only get into the phone and drain every financial and banking application and steal all their money but also they're able to turn off find my and change the password to their Apple ID just because you need only the passcode to change that in your iPhone and that was a big deal when we talked about it in February you know I warned you guys back then but this gets even deeper and it gets even worse than it already was because they just published this report and it shows that thieves are now taking this scheme a step further by locking innocent users completely out of their Apple ID account for good how are they doing this well because that passcode is the golden key and allows you to set a recovery key in the iCloud settings and if you don't store this key somewhere if you don't have access to this key you're basically out of luck you're not getting back into your Apple ID there's been even people sending Apple like their driver's license their you know a DNA sample and Apple's still not giving them their account back because that record is not on file like their DNA is obviously not on file so they're not able to get their account back because they don't have this recovery key that some thieve you know set themselves so they basically are locked out of their Apple ID for good they don't have their contacts their photos you know anything their notes anything just imagine losing all that on top of your iPhone like losing your iPhone is one thing but losing all of your data and never being able to get it back is a whole nother level of like the dangers of just putting in your passcode out in public so if you don't want this happening to you there are a few things you can do number one just don't type in your passcode in public like I cannot tell you the last time I did that just because I'm very aware of my surroundings but always use face ID now sometimes of course you do have to put in your passcode but kind of just you know look around or tilt your phone down and type in your passcode but always use face ID or touch ID and the second thing you could do is kind of what I alluded to at the very beginning change your passcode don't use a four digit passcode even a six digit passcode is pretty easy to memorize eyes and that's why I think that an alphanumeric passcode is like the ultimate level because a thief is not even going to bother if they have to try to memorize and you know watch what you're typing in they'll find somebody that's easier that has a four or six digit passcode and again four digit is really the one that you do not want to do especially if it's just like repeating numbers change that ASAP and there is that little content and privacy restriction and screen time but you can bypass that and a thief who's going to have knowledge of apple and iOS is going to know how to bypass that so that's not really a fix I would not really you know rely on that as saving you alright so let's move on to something a little bit more positive let's get the The Vibes back up here so let's talk about WWDC which we are less than two months away from and this is going to be a big one Mark German just dropped a report and it starts off by saying Apple's June worldwide developers conference is shaping up to be one of the biggest product launch events ever he then says the mixed reality headset will be the star of the show but the annual conference will be packed with other products too that includes new Mac laptops and the biggest update to the Apple watch software since the first version was introduced in 2015 so it doesn't really elaborate much on watch OS 10. he kind of just tells us that it's going to be a big update in the user interface is going to change so maybe we get a whole new home screen for watch OS 10 that would be nice but aside from the headset and that software he does say that some Macs are coming at this event and those new MacBooks are likely going to be the 15-inch MacBook Air and updated 13-inch MacBook Air and an entry level 13 inch MacBook Pro now it does also mention a new 24 inch iMac the Mac Pro and the high-end MacBook Pros but those are all likely coming in you know maybe Q4 of this year or early next year and then adding on to the pretty much confirmed at this point 15 inch MacBook Air Ming Chi quo chimed in and said this the upcoming 15 inch MacBook Air will feature the M2 series and offer two processor spec options however two options are more likely to be M2 with different cores similar to the M2 a 13 inch MacBook Air mass production of M3 chip is anticipated to begin in the second half of this year slightly ahead of the M3 Pro and M3 Max the shipment estimation for the 15 inch MacBook Air is five to six million units so yeah again pretty much confirms what we talked about last week that we're going to see an M2 Chip in this 15 inch MacBook Air not M3 and now a lot of people are disappointed by that I'm kind of disappointed but at the same time you know a 15-inch MacBook Air the big selling point here is the size not necessarily having the latest and greatest chip so I'm not too mad about this I will definitely still be picking up a 15 inch MacBook Air now I know you guys are tired of hearing about it but we did just get a big report from Mark German again on Apple's AR VR headsets and what it's going to entail and again this is going to be the star of the show so there's a lot to talk about here there's a lot of moving Parts it's a brand new software brand new product so German just dropped a nice scoop on this headset he said this a big part of the effort is adapting iPad apps for the new headset set which blends virtual and augmented reality users will be able to access millions of existing apps from third-party developers via the new 3D interface the push will include optimized versions of the Safari web browser and Apple's services for calendars contacts files home control mail Maps messaging notes photos and reminders as well as its music news stocks and weather apps there also will be a version of the FaceTime conferencing service and Apple's TV app they're also working on a version of Apple Books for the headset that's going to allow users to read in virtual reality and also they are testing a camera app where you can take pictures from the headsets on the wellness front an app will help wearers meditate with a series of common Graphics sounds and voiceovers along with a Fitness Plus service which will let users exercise while watching an instructor in VR aside from gaming which of course is going to be a big part of the headset apple is also planning to position this headset as a device for getting work done so they're saying it's going to have support for Pages numbers and Keynotes along with iMovie and Garageband for video and music production and he mentions a lot more about what's to come in this headset in the report so I will leave that linked below if you want to read every detail about it but this is just very interesting and I really cannot wait to see how Apple talks about this on stage like what they reveal because I feel like a lot of this is going to come much further down the road besides the default applications like a lot of this stuff like especially gaming and things like that are going to be a very slow process I feel like so it's going to be interesting to see what Apple says on stage at the worldwide developers conference and I cannot wait to see you know how this is positioned in the market and speaking of the headset I promise this is the last segment of this video where I'm going to talk about the headset but somebody who is not a huge fan of it just a few months ago is now apparently Blown Away by the headset according to Evan Blass a person I know who's had several opportunities to demo the upcoming headsets has gone from lamenting it's underwear developing capabilities to being blown away by the experience that the latest hardware and firmware delivers he later elaborated the full quote by saying the leap they've made since last year is giant I was so skeptical now I'm blown away and a take my money kind of way and that quote gets me pretty excited so bring on the three thousand dollar headset Apple I am ready now moving on to the iPhone 15 because every week it seems like we're getting a new rumor or a new leak about what's coming or what's not coming and we have even more to share this week so first off Force restarting the iPhone 15 is going to be different than anything in the past according to this recent rumor and that's due to the new mute button replacing the switch so we don't know the exact combination yet but we are hearing that the iPhone 15 Pro's action button is going to replace the role of the volume buttons when you're going to do a you know force restart or a power off we're also hearing a similar change is going to occur in the camera application as well where the action button is going to replace the volume up button for taking a photo quickly and this of course is going to confuse a lot of people like every year every time Apple switches up the way that you like force restart your device so many people are confused so this time it's going to be even more confusing for iPhone 15 users now we also got a separate rumor from somebody who actually has a track record so they predicted the correct color for the iPhone 14. they gave multiple hints at yellow being the color for the iPhone 14 before it was announced they were the first person to say that and now they're back with more rumors number one saying that the iPhone 15 the regular iPhone 15 models are going to get the Frosted matte finish like the Pro Models had on the 14 series the 14 Pros he's also saying that the 15 and 15 plus will be available in a new cyan green color and he does have a track record for color leaks so this could be the case you know since he did get the yellow iPhone 14 right he could be right about the color here now we did also hear red is coming so maybe red is going to be the pro color and green is going to be the regular 15 color I don't know Apple usually likes to keep them the same color for you know the new color of the year it's usually the same for the pros and the regulars but who knows at this point what that new color is going to be and then finally you know it it's time for our weekly crazy air tags story it's crazy how every single week I can find a brand new story that has to do with the air tags and catching a thief or leading to something wild it's it's just crazy how much these air tags are in headlines these days but you guys love it so I'm going to keep bringing you these air tag stories so this time a man in Washington DC was unloading groceries from his BMW when a sketchy car pulled up at the house and a man holding a pistol hopped out demanding the keys so the carjacker stole the BMW which had the man's keys and iPhone inside the carjacker threw the victim's iPhone out the window along with an air tag that he found attached to the car keys but what the thief didn't know was that there was a another air tag hidden inside the car and the thief never found that one of course so since the man who got robbed didn't have his iPhone he used his wife's iPhone to show police the find my app and where that stolen car was located thanks to that hidden air tag and then once police found the car just an hour later it had already been in a shootout with bullet holes all over the car and the car was deemed a total loss by Insurance due to that and the fact that the oil pan was leaking from driving through yards all of that happened in a day that's crazy but the thief was arrested the next day and the reason he was arrested so quickly is all thanks to that hidden air tag so I've said it before and I'll keep saying it make sure you have like a hidden air tag and all your belongings not just your car but especially your car make sure you have an air tag in your car and don't just put it where it's open you know put it somewhere hidden in your car and it's the same with backpacks or anything try to hide the air tag as much as possible but anyways yeah just a crazy story about the air attacks now before we go I did also want to mention mentioned that a couple weeks ago I mentioned how there was an auction for a new sealed iPhone 2g the original iPhone and it had this cool little red sticker on it that was pretty rare and it sold for forty thousand dollars so you guys probably remember that if you watch all my Apple weekly episodes you'll probably remember me covering that and I said how the person got a pretty good deal well that person was Marquez Brownlee MKBHD here on YouTube and he actually just unboxed that iPhone that he won at auction for forty thousand dollars so if you want to check out that video I will leave it linked down in the description below it's a pretty interesting one but anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did I would appreciate if you gave it a thumbs up also make sure to subscribe for more Apple weekly episodes I dropped these every single week\n"
