**A Christmas Decorating Update: Traditional and Bright**

As I sat down to film my latest decorating update, I couldn't help but feel excited about the changes I had made to my home for the holiday season. While some may opt for bright colors and bold patterns, I have always been drawn to traditional and classic designs that evoke a sense of warmth and coziness. In this video, I will be sharing with you all the various elements that make up my Christmas decorating scheme, from pillows to fabric, and everything in between.

**Pillows: A Must-Have for My Christmas Decor**

One of the first things I tackled was my pillow selection. As a lover of traditional designs, I knew I had to find some beautiful and unique patterns to add to my existing collection. After browsing through my favorite stores, I finally found the perfect one – a stunning Old Farm truck print that caught my eye from across the room. With its rich colors and intricate details, this pillow was an instant must-have. But what really sealed the deal for me was when I discovered it wasn't just any ordinary pillow. It was made of the softest, most buttery fabric that felt like a dream to touch.

**Fabric Finds: A Tartan Dream**

Next up was my visit to the fabric section. I had been eyeing this beautiful tartan plaid pattern for months, and I finally found it at Hobby Lobby. The colors were perfect – just the right amount of red and green with hints of gold that added a touch of sophistication. I ended up buying two yards of the fabric, which will come in handy when I'm updating my bedroom for next year's Christmas decorations. And let me tell you, this fabric is going to be a game-changer.

**Other Finds: A Sweater-Style Pillow and Christmas Tree Alert**

After completing my pillow selection, I moved on to some other finds that caught my eye. First up was a beautiful sweater-style pillow with a lovely plaid checkered pattern. While it wasn't quite the tartan dream I had been searching for, I loved its cozy feel and adorable design. Next, I spotted this gorgeous Christmas tree print – not just any tree, mind you, but one that looked like it belonged in a holiday movie. And lastly, I found this stunning little pillow with a cute nest pattern that added a touch of whimsy to my collection.

Finally, after hours of browsing and shopping, it was time to put everything together. First up was the pièce de résistance – a beautiful picture of Santa Claus that I had been searching for online. While it wasn't a huge canvas, I knew I could make it work with some creative placement. Next, I decided on a few finishing touches, including this adorable Christmas tree skirt and a few festive throw pillows to complete the look.

collection and I'm just really excited about all this stuff and so I'm going to talk about it and why I got it and what I had envisioned for it Hobby and Lobby is having 50% off of Christmas right now and if my memory serves me correctly I think that's the high is it's going to go because typically holiday Decor is going to be about 40% off so whatever's in season is going to be about 40% off so 50% is probably the highest that's going to go after Christmas they'll probably have an aisle of things that'll be like 60% off and then it'll get up to 90% off but it will basically be like not leftover items but things that may have been broken during like the season because I think Hobby Lobby just takes what they don't sell and they pack it up and they bring it back out the following year because if you go there's a lot of things that just have always been there for years upon years so right now it is 50% off and I knew I wanted to go ahead and get there for for that sale every single year what I do is I add to my Decor collection and that's how I've been building so when I put out like my Christmas home tour videos from 2015 and my bedroom makeover and things like that one I do a lot of my own DIYs from Dollar Tree and I will list my Christmas playlist down below so that you can see all the things that I did in 2015 um I'm going to do so many different things for 2016 and I'm going to be doing like uh the same kind of videos from 2015 as well but like updated videos of like my house tour my bedroom so with that in mind I do like to add every single year a little bit here and there so before I go shopping I don't like to Blind shop that much unless I see something that I absolutely love and I have full full confidence that I love it so much that I'll find something for it but most of the time I do make a list and I think about each room in my house and what I want it to look like I also take pictures every single year of all of like my rooms and I keep it I store it in my Shutterfly account and that way I go back and I see how I kind of decorated it and it gives me ideas for the next year where there are maybe some spots that I want to improve like my Christmas mantle for example um I loved what I did last year and it's something that I've done every single year but I want to amp it up a little bit more this year so with that said I do write a list for like every room of things that I think I want to do so that is basically how I went shopping for this stuff so the very first things are some gift bags and I only got two of them because these were the ones that appealed to me most and they were originally $1.99 but because they were 50% off they were basically a dollar so comparable to Dollar Tree and this bag is just so cute I love the gold foil and the tree is really beautiful and then the Snowman with the red Cardinals the red foil and then there's like hints of like glitter here and there so I thought these were really beautiful so these will probably just be part of actual gift bags that I will put things in because otherwise I do a lot of like DIYs with gift bags the next thing are some ornaments they were $1.99 so basically turned out to be about $6 and plaid ice skates so if you don't know this if you're new to my channel I'm obsessed with plaid I'm a plaid pattern kind of person and last year in 2015 I did an entire series called plaid week um and that's coming back I hope you're ready it's coming back I can't wait to share with you what I have in store for plaid weat this year I'm obsessing so bye but if you're not a plaid person that's okay just incorporate whatever pattern you love most in place of like my plaid um ideas so I thought that these little ornaments were just a must have for me the fur trimmed boot I mean it's an it looks like an actual like boot ice skate and if there were really ice skates like this I would buy it all right what's in here it's like a surprise all over again oh I know what this is so I got got this really beautiful ornament isn't he stunning I just love this you get the cute little like pom poms in there and he has this really fun tinsil like neck decor and so I got him because every year my daughter gets a new ornament and so this is the ornament that I picked out for her this year it was $7.99 it's one of the most expensive ornaments at Hobby Lobby it's this brand right here Robert Stanley um but it was basically $4 cuz 50% off all right let's see what's next what's in here oh I know what this one is okay same ornament maker Robert Stanley look how beautiful this ornament is it's very Whimsical it has a lot of pink in it which is not my style at all but I loved this so much that I was like I don't care I'm getting this it's not going to go in my tree I feel like I want to display this in my kitchen because it's like little recipe book you got the cute little spoon here's the side and look at the back I love that the back has like a little cupcake pattern here is the side here's the next one okay I know what this one is too so I got this cute little frame and what I loved about this was the colors the gold it's very much my Christmas colors um it's the more deeper Reds and greens and not so much the bright red and green um very traditional so I loved this instantly it was $4.99 so it was about $250 $2.50 you guys I mean stunning and I'm going to find something to put in here whether it's a cute little throwback picture of my daughter when she was little around Christmas time that's probably what I'll do but you could like add a scrapbook pattern in the back and then add like a deer sticker or something really cute that would be really adorable I actually don't know what this is at all oh look how beautiful this is it is a picture frame that has like falling snow I thought it was really beautiful so this was not in the Christmas aisle or section at my Hobby Lobby it was in the Christmas like scrapbooking section so I just thought this was really cute and I want to put a picture of my daughter in here and put this in my office desk so I am going to be decorating my office this year which I didn't do last year so this is going to be part of that decor and I thought that this was just really cute love it moving on along here's another one and it is this beautiful plate they have all of these wonderful new plates and settings and they have a plaid series I really wanted the Plaid cake stand if I find a picture of it online I'll attach it here so you can see it the only problem I had with it was that there was black in it and I don't like black for Christmas at all it's not part of my Decor oh well I just I wasn't feeling it so here is this plate I loved this not loved in past tense I love this it is $9.99 so it was $5 basically which is great I love the trim detail it is a nice good sturdy plate and I got this because I wanted Santa to have a new plate for his cookies and I thought this would be perfect which with that in mind I thought well Santa needs something for his milk so I got the matching mug is this mug not to die for how gorgeous is this so that you can kind of see the set together and I just thought Santa would love this you know what I'm saying the only downfall this is this is just a little little p padilly downfall is padilly a word um I feel like Picadilly was a is a street in London but anyway I digress um the only downfall is that like I follow a lot of like Instagram accounts that do like countdowns to Christmas which is great I love it but my birthday is on Christmas so it's always like I don't want a countdown to me being a year older so there's that all right so moving on um I love this I love this this is a candle holder it's stunning and I know we all have different styles and I will insert all the footage of me shopping at Hobby Lobby I actually intended to do this video as a shop with me but there were too many people in the aisles and kids crying so I didn't think that you guys would enjoy that so um but I'll just kind of insert the footage and roll it over maybe with some music so that you can see all the things that I found because I do want to share with you guys all the different patterns and things CU I know a lot of people have strayed away from traditional and do a lot of bright colors and blacks and Golds and I think that's great I love I love seeing other people's Styles it's just not what what I do in my house so um I am showing you a lot of traditional stuff and I know a lot of people might not be into the Cardinals but this guy was $19.99 so he was basically $10 $10 just it's just stunning this just work here with the Holly and the glitter I'm obsessed and actually I want another one so I'll go back and get it I thought no I don't want a candy cane look I really want more of a Santa look and I love that it has like this sweater feel and you guys it's so buttery soft I love this it's not like it doesn't have a scratchy texture at all to me and I thought this was adorable and I had to get it and so this was one of the guys that has been on my app cart for a while and he is honestly he like it's a he this is honestly the reason why I went to Hobby Lobby in the first place was for this guy right here it's just so beautiful I love this Old Farm truck and then these are like real little pearl beads so got to be really careful with those cuz I want the to last and I love the Plaid this is my kind of plaid right here has a lot of green a lot of Reds I like more red in my plaid and I'll actually show you my favorite plaid pattern here in a minute but this was really close and the car almost has like a plaid checkered pattern so I thought that was really cute the back is just plain red all right I'm coming down to my last two things so I'll go ahead and show you this right here so I went to the uh fabric section and had this lady cut me a yard and a half of this and this would essentially be my favorite plaid but it's like missing hints of gold so the Plaid pattern with this much red and this much green with hints of gold is my absolute favorite so it's more of a tarton love this and you will see what I'm going to be doing with this when I do my updated 2016 Christmas bedroom makeover I'm really excited I actually wanted to do this last year but they did didn't have this uh pattern at Hobby Lobby last year so they have a lot of good fabric selections this year it's a great time to DIY it's all I'm saying all right so now we're down to the very last thing which is going to be this picture of Santa so I have been really wanting to get into really decorating my house I want it to look like Mrs Claus lives here that is the ultimate goal and so I saw this picture of him it isn't as big as I want it and it's not framed it's just a canvas I am looking at some other pictures on eBay right now cuz I want to Vamp up my Christmas mantle and I don't think that he's big enough for my Christmas mantle but he might end up there so I don't know he might end up in my front uh entry table or maybe even in my office or maybe even in my bedroom I'm not sure but I thought that the Santa
