**A Home Makeover Journey: From Basement to Bathroom**

As I sit here in my newly transformed home, I'm overwhelmed with excitement and satisfaction. The bedroom is finally complete, and it's been a labor of love to get everything just right. The Delta pieces look amazing, exactly as I had envisioned them. I've always dreamed of having this space, and now it's a reality.

The bathroom, on the other hand, still has some minor details to be finished. The glass enclosure for the shower needs attention, as well as painting the tub and removing the old silver fixtures. But overall, I'm loving how it's coming together. The bathroom has been under renovation for quite some time now, but it's finally starting to feel like a space that I can call my own.

The basement, which was once a neglected and unused area, has undergone an impressive glow-up. The textured wall is still intact, adding character to the space that I'm very concerned about losing as we continue with our upgrades and modern changes. But for now, it's a testament to how far we've come.

**Preparation is Key**

Before starting any renovation project, preparation is key. In my case, I placed an online order at Home Depot, which led to a curbside pickup experience that wasn't quite as smooth as I had hoped. After being directed to the 26th position in line, I was told that store hours were closed, and there was no option for immediate assistance.

Instead, I received a call with instructions on how to access my order, which consisted of wooden trim, plugs, and painting supplies. The representative explained that plugs are not necessary when working with wood, and that simply using screws directly into the wood is preferred. It's always helpful to have advice from those who know the ins and outs of home renovation.

**Painting 101**

With my supplies in hand, it was time to start painting. I chose two Benjamin Moore colors: Simply White for the ceiling (flat finish) and white dove in an eggshell for the walls (semi-gloss). The slightly warmer tone on the trim will provide a nice contrast to the cooler tones on the ceiling.

As I began painting, I couldn't help but think about the importance of patience. Preparing the space took time, and waiting for the paint to dry has been just as important. But it's worth it – the end result is going to be stunning.

**A New Chapter**

This home makeover journey has been a wild ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way. From basement to bathroom, each room has its own unique character and charm. And as I look around at my newly transformed space, I'm filled with excitement for what's to come. The kitchen, living room, and bedrooms will all get their turn in the spotlight, and I can barely wait.

In fact, I've already started envisioning how each room will evolve over time. No longer will we be limited by a single episode per room – from now on, it'll be an all-in-one experience that showcases the transformation of each space. And as for when these episodes will drop? never been to any kind of auction or something like this before but there are a lot of light fixtures that I need for the space between sconces which I heard there's not a lot of and just other lights like flush mount lights there's like three I need for the bathroom I want to do one in the toilet room I have stuff on either side of my fireplace as well as a flush mount there's just a lot of lights that I need my friend Vita told me about this auction she was able to pick up some lights for like ten dollars each so some pretty good deals I love you know using vintage when I can instead of buying new especially because my style is kind of vintage like simplistic vintage pieces so I'm really excited to go check out what they have although they still have stuff because this is like the last day that they're on yeah we're gonna go check out the lighting and then after that we'll head to the house okay that was kind of a bust I feel like things were kind of picked over they didn't have a lot of like complete pieces other than chandeliers which I wasn't really looking for they didn't really have a lot of sconces they did have some really cute kind of like like shades or like globes that would go into something that's flush mount but it didn't have the flush mount part and I was like what am I supposed to do with this I just don't know how to like put that up on the wall and like where to get the flush mount that would fit that you know glass globe so we out of there we saw this other lighting place which we're going to pop into they're having a closing sale hope they're not open honestly probably the same problem just look at all those lampshades holy crap it says it's open Oh back in five there might be a gem in there okay so um that was a little bit of a bust but that's okay we're we're all opponents trial-and-error busts and um bus good news is we can go to the house now and there definitely won't be of us there right it will be beautiful windows and beautiful growth and they'll make up for all the bus we're at this coffee shop and look what I see this is what I'm doing you might throw away yeah go to coffee shops and I don't get um coffee because I don't drink coffee and I only feel like tea at very special occasions so I just always get cookies which is very dangerous but wait in case it falls on you no clothes are not good for you would you like some hey whit yep Hebert cookies are really easy to make okay it's finally time to check out the newly installed windows okay wait wait wait should I go down first peak 10th oh yeah that's great I can already see there's so much like him through that all the grouts not done yet but in the grand scheme of things this is a lot of light and it's a big window it's great so how do you get out of it if you need to let's go look at the bathroom one it'll be easier to look at look how great it's beautiful this is also like the brightest time of day right now but this is the same piece of my vanity countertop because it was going to be a child in here and then I thought I didn't want that song okay let's check this out oh sorry oh so good I want to break it you slide that down down no no peace yeah right open hey can you get out and then my skate plan I'm gonna see what I can do though cuz this is only like a third of how big it can open and although I might be able to get out of here I don't think everybody would and even though it's just me and the bf right now in the future it might not be so I would really love to just to open more when I spend all this money on your windows I want them to like work what they're meant to do which was yeah look nicer and let more light in and everything but also they need to be a safest escape I can definitely fit out them I don't want to try right now I'm sorry you guys don't get that footage this is not the bathroom but this is the vanity hopefully I don't know what you guys have seen so far Mindy because I'm doing a separate video on it hopefully that video was actually already out that would be great but I have this dresser I'm turning it into about the vanity and this is my countertop which I haven't seen yet I almost I think I might eat from him and I want to break it oh yeah is that nice oh yeah look at it looks good with the floor too it has like just slight veins in it so it's not you know too white I'm really happy raw in there so now we're getting window wells if you will if you window will but now I'm heading to the hardware store I'm actually working on my vanity but while we're there why don't we check out the closets because apparently the Martha Stewart not sponsored closet line is like a good option obviously everybody loves IKEA but the reason I'm not gonna go with IKEA is because I think I kids like almost too nice for the inside of the closet like their clogs are built for like the pack system or the open closets but I have the closets I just need like the rails so I don't need to get all fancy I don't think anyway to the hardware store okay apparently there's no Martha Stewart here anymore so we're just gonna get these feet and leap and oh I want to go stop at Benjamin Moore on the way home to pick out bathtub colors I'm so excited I need to get that painting soon because like it's time gotta put the bathtub in things are happening so about this whole bathtub situation I actually posted on Instagram six different bathtubs trying to pull and see which ones you guys are feeling I was leaning towards black but I really am liking this green color I think I was just gonna get the chips I don't think I'm gonna get like a sample because literally a sample could paint the whole thing so I guess I'll just go get swatches of like very charcoal II gray black as well as like a sage green I don't want anything like too rich somebody did say in the comments that you know black is a little bit more timeless which I agree and all my fixtures are black from Delta so with the balance all that I'm excited though I honestly it's just so exciting every day something else is coming together and I'm like holy this is my bathroom this is where I live like this is gorgeous okay I have some paint options also they sell window film they're by the foot which is amazing because I was about to buy some online but this way I'm like not gonna waste it I'm stoked I got some colors so let's go back to the house fix the vanity see which color we want for the tub and then I also have some handles and stuff that I picked out for like the closets so we can try out those - do I have them oh yeah handle options there's honestly so many decisions that need to be made it's not it's not even funny I like making all his decisions it's a weave it so the house vanity is pretty much in position guys like I'm sorry but all these clips are just me being so excited but there's so many things to be excited about I'm loving it down here I can definitely live down here like I do like it it's not too basement tea for me at all well what was I gonna do with you guys we were going to oh yeah this two things we need to do paint switch swaps there's two things we need to do one look at paint chips to look at knobs which one do you want to do first choose your adventure I'm gonna watching tick tock am i doing it No so these are all samples that I purchased and buy samples I just mean they're they're one of each you know so first up we have this slim like black one see I think that they should be like a little bit bigger because this is something that you're like grabbing all the time and you're grabbing it in the middle of night you're getting dressed until tonight so I personally think maybe bigger than this this is option a option B this one is interesting can't lose the receipt this is $100 worth of samples so x it okay it's this mid-century modern would one my only concern is that it's racist a limb here like from the friend it kind of doesn't look like anything but it is really cute obviously a little bit of varnish and I could sting them to be something like this maybe super interesting so let's see how it looks honestly I'm super into this I love the wood because I'm gonna have like black fixtures all in the bathroom I just like how like warm this wood is yeah I don't know if this is the exact one I am quite into it yeah yeah I like it okay now lastly this is heavy this is one that I thought would be like my frontrunner it's black it's like just the detail on it is really nice I think it's like kind of traditional but not too traditional it's not too industrial I must wish these morons like little violence oh my god I can't unsee it now they look like pylons oh no I wish I'd never thought of that but I love yeah I love that see it's because it's so big it's easy to grab I want something that's easy to grab that too much to ask for well for me personally I think it's between B and C unlikely choice safe choice I think it's all about seeing if I can find like a different version of this maybe Oh No I'm also going to be putting this on this closet door there would this just kind of feels suburban to me you know this feels like special also gonna go on to the bathroom doors right here do like I'm just like poking around also I'm sorry the stairs in your way so this will be a pocket door I mean you don't know where we are now I'll put up a little map of the space and by me I mean Justin or Nick our dear editors this will be a pocket door into the bathroom but then there's also a toilet room which is good if you are a couple and this will also be here too dude I like the wood I want to be the wood is it it's just like so different I feel like there's so delicate though but love you dawn maybe I'll take a photo and I'll pull again probably friends and family this time not them Internet but speaking up poll we did the poll for the bathtub excuse me shot back with that this is my bathtub now now if you guys remember I have black fixtures in here so whatever color you paint the tab again to match that beautiful tub oh also here we need to see it with the floors can't see it can't see it can you see it yeah see there like a warm color there also warm because they're on right now let's go look at chips oh my god it's actually so nice and warm okay step to both like this one black classic apparently onyx is the blackest black but we could do either of these oh my god I love green oh my god gosh look at the name of this look at the news it focus cut raccoon fur in case you're new here and you're a little confused the apartment that I lived in before I bought this house came with some adorably annoying pets I can't is that my color oh I don't think it is it's too like blue ink right Louie gray it is a nice color but ah that's so funny raccoon okay so we'll take it closer to look at those but the person the painter gave me a really good hack and I was asking them what like kind of paint I need to paint the tub and they said a mildew resistant one but they were also like is it oil or latex and I was like how am I supposed to know that but they said get some nail polish remover or something that has acetone adora acetone and then you just rub it and if it comes off or like the paint transfers then it's latex no acrylic oh god if the paint comes off on the rag it's latex paint if the paint doesn't come off on the right it's oil pat pat pat do I have nail polish remover you know so the update is I can find acetone so I hope to get some come back and then make a decision on what color to paint the tub maybe that's what will happen next time I see you things are happening it's like happening so fast I'm so excited it happens fast sick this is a house sport this is a clip for house series hi guys so I am just sitting here doing some work at home as I do being a responsible citizen right now and they're still working on my house I mean it is considered a essential service but it's like my contractors just there working alone so I feel like it's quite safe but I just got an email from my contractor and it says some happiness for you so I'm so excited to open up this email she said it's still some tweaking to do but oh my god that looks great so she sent me a clip of my sliding doors interesting it looks good I feel like they should be painted ah ooh that looks good too it's like the step going down to the basement stairs there trim where's that oh yeah that's a little lights coming down oh my god guys this is so exciting but I'm so glad that the washer and dryer fit because I mean I knew they would because I measured properly orally actually my contractors measured and then they told me what size washer and dryer to get but yeah that's great the door is like kind of hit the walls which sucks mm-hmm what can you do though great well I'm so excited I feel like I'll be able to go to the house soon because she said that they should be getting in door to my apartment next week which means that my apartment like my main form basement will be like completely closed off and finished from the upstairs which is still being worked on so that means that I could go to my house soon little waves small ones okay so for the basement oh hi camera shadow this is what we ended up doing a bit of Steph just like added some more hardwood here and I think it matches the oak of these stairs pretty well too so I'm pretty happy with that this bathroom is so great um okay so down here I got a text from my contractor she was at the door store which is like a salvage store store in Toronto and then she's like what about this one and I was like love it done she's like okay hold on I just got here but that ended up being the one that we loved so it's this like textured glass finish it's totally Salvage door so I'll need to figure out if I want to take it back to like the wood that it was as you can see up here or go on a painter to color I don't know yet oh yeah and then in here we have the mechanical doors up there is my laundry I would love to make this cute in here but that's a later me problem and they're still gonna do like a trim up here so that you don't see this oh yeah this is in position I felt my fix the drawer yeah that's looking good I can't believe how bright it is my neighbors are out playing badminton which is cute shower these are for the guilt oh my gosh no dusty there dusty but these are my delta fixtures so I have the hand shower I have the shower head I didn't want a rain head because I don't love rain heads did I feel like you can't shower your body without showering here and then controls for all of the above this is packing position but warning it's not to use because the drain is not connected yet because I stuck the pick out the tub colors things kind of got put on hold because of Boulder Mart you know who and other than that everything's like pretty much there oh yeah the door we need to look close this in for storage we as I find helping other than that new windows looking good hi guys it is an exciting day because I am visiting the house after probably a couple weeks they've made some progress I think the main floor and basement is pretty much like all done there's some little parts and stuff that we're still waiting on that are are delayed in delivery but it's good to kind of start maybe moving my things from upstairs into the main floor basement which I'm gonna say it again our my unit upstairs is its own unit high of me floor basement so we also brought some laundry in trash bags because little car with a little birthday message because at the current place we are there shared laundry we it's just like a little sketchy so we thought we'd bring the laundry over to my house and do the laundry for the first time the laundry machines are new they've never before been used so we'll just do some laundry while we're there today and be safe but first laundry before we can get to a tour small on machine okay now that the laundry has started let me give you the full tour of the main floor and basement so when you walk into the home this front common hallway is still being renovated but on the right will be the door to my unit this area where the fireplace is will be an entry area with the living room being in the middle of the space and the kitchen is obviously at the back it was sunny earlier but now it's raining so the space isn't looking very cozy but leave that up to me I will definitely make this place super cozy so there was a wall here that divided the house into three but I removed that in order to make better use of the space this here was open to the stairwell but now it's closed in and has all the hookups for the TV the kitchen is pretty much the same except for the wall that we took down here that housed a pocket door we rebuilt the half wall not only to cover up the flooring that was missing underneath but I also felt like it would be a nice anchor to the end of the island to have a little half wall here so heading downstairs we have the beautiful new white oak stairs we're still missing some elements such as the hidden doors under the stairs that are gonna close off the storage area and the closet handles are looking really good I'm happy with them but I will need to finish both the handles and the stairs so that they stand up to the test of time the bedroom has been finished for a while now since it's literally just a room it's not anything fancy yet but it will be the bathroom still has some minor details such as the glass to close in the one side of the shower I need to paint the tub and remove the old silver fixtures that are still in the tub but overall I'm loving how it's coming together the Delta pieces look amazing everything is pretty much exactly how I imagined which is insane speaking of imagining do you remember what this basement looked like before I seriously don't know if I've ever seen such buy a ladder because apparently those are the things you buy when you're homeowner so I bought a ladder and some painting supplies and I think they just put it in the car I don't know they said you like call this number and then hi good how are you yep are you guys one here the store store is closed besides great car here it's gonna be number 26 26 okay great thank you people showing up like this open no no online orders only wait two days this is a pretty good system now don't be angry don't be angry don't be angry gotta be positive and now we wait got it letter homeowner so this is what I'm dealing with here this is a wooden trim these are plugs in that wooden trim now there might be a reason for this but usually there isn't guys you do not need to use plugs in wood wood is gonna hold your screws just fine so do me and everybody else a favor and yourself and don't pre-drill put in plugs and then use screws just use screws right into the wood it's a lot nicer than this so it has been a couple days of prepping and you know putting holes and putting on primer coats but it is time to finally put my paint color on the wall and for those of you that are wondering I went with the Benjamin Moore simply white and a flat for the ceiling in a semi-gloss for the trim and for the walls I went with a slightly warmer white than the ceiling in the trim and I went with the Benjamin Moore white dove in a eggshell I'm never gonna do something fun with I think the fireplace and maybe the front door to my unit so I definitely want to bring in some interesting accent elements but for now we're gonna do a simple white to get rid of this green and yellow that was on the walls I like the paint whole little ins both legs like pull it sideways now hold that in front of you and shake it left and right not up and down take it left and right you should I head there's a knee up there can you see my pants Japanese hey aunt have a tant problem and I guess it's a man how do we get up there my hair volume it's fine it's fine a little bit but not like you're great look great so I'm pretty much done a half of the space the other half is like the kitchen huh but it's looking really good I'm let's go back to the house fix the vanity see which color we want for the tub and then I also have some handles and stuff that I picked out for like the closets so we can try out those - do I have position guys like I'm sorry but all these clips are just me being so excited but there's so many things to be excited about I'm loving it down here I can definitely live down here like I do like it receipt this is $100 worth of samples so x it okay it's this mid-century modern would one my only concern is that it's racist a limb here like from the friend it kind of doesn't look like anything but it is really cute obviously a little bit of varnish and I could sting them to be something like this maybe super interesting so let's see how it looks honestly I'm super into this I love the wood something that has acetone adora acetone and then you just rub it and if it comes off or like the paint transfers then it's latex no acrylic oh god if the paint comes off on the rag it's latex paint if the paint doesn't come off on the right it's oil pat pat pat do I have nail polish remover you know so the update is I can find acetone so I hope to get some come back and then make a decision on what color to paint the tub maybe that's what will happen next time I see you things are happening it's like happening so fast I'm so excited it happens fast sick this is a house sport this is a clip for house series hi guys so I am just sitting here doing some work at home as I do being a responsible citizen right now and they're still working on my house I mean it is considered a essential service but it's like my contractors just there working alone so I feel like it's quite safe but I just got an email from my contractor and it says some happiness for you so I'm so excited to open up this email she said it's still some tweaking to do but oh my god that looks great so she sent me a clip of my sliding doors interesting it looks good I feel like they should be painted ah ooh that looks good too it's like the step going down to the basement stairs there trim where's that oh yeah that's a little lights coming down oh my god guys this is so exciting but I'm so glad that the washer and dryer fit because I mean I knew they would because I measured properly orally actually my contractors measured and then they told me what size washer and dryer to get but yeah that's great the door is like kind of hit the walls which sucks mm-hmm what can you do though great well I'm so excited I feel like I'll be able to go to the house soon because she said that they should be getting in door to my apartment next week which means that my apartment like my main form basement will be like completely closed off and finished from the upstairs which is still being worked on so that means that I could go to my house soon little waves small ones okay so for the basement oh hi camera shadow this is what we ended up doing a bit of Steph just like added some more hardwood here and I think it matches the oak of these stairs pretty well too so I'm pretty happy with that this bathroom is so great um okay so down here I got a text from my contractor she was at the door store which is like a salvage store store in Toronto and then she's like what about this one and I was like love it done she's like okay hold on I just got here but that ended up being the one that we loved so it's this like textured glass finish it's totally Salvage door so I'll need to figure out if I want to take it back to like the wood that it was as you can see up here or go on a painter to color I don't know yet oh yeah and then in here we have the mechanical doors up there is my laundry I would love to make this cute in here but that's a later me problem and they're still gonna do like a trim up here so that you don't see this oh yeah this is in position I felt my fix the drawer yeah that's looking good I can't believe how bright it is my neighbors are out playing badminton which is cute shower these are for the guilt oh my gosh no dusty there dusty but these are my delta fixtures so I have the hand shower I have the shower head I didn't want a rain head because I don't love rain heads did I feel like you can't shower your body without showering here and then controls for all of the above this is packing position but warning it's not to use because the drain is not connected yet because I stuck the pick out the tub colors things kind of got put on hold because of Boulder Mart you know who and other than that everything's like pretty much there oh yeah the door we need to look close this in for storage we as I find helping other than that new windows looking good hi guys it is an exciting day because I am visiting the house after probably a couple weeks they've made some progress I think the main floor and basement is pretty much like all done there's some little parts and stuff that we're still waiting on that are are delayed in delivery but it's good to kind of start maybe moving my things from upstairs into the main floor basement which I'm gonna say it again our my unit upstairs is its own unit high of me floor basement so we also brought some laundry in trash bags because little car with a little birthday message because at the current place we are there shared laundry we it's just like a little sketchy so we thought we'd bring the laundry over to my house and do the laundry for the first time the laundry machines are new they've never before been used so we'll just do some laundry while we're there today and be safe but first laundry before we can get to a tour small on machine okay now that the laundry has started let me give you the full tour of the main floor and basement so when you walk into the home this front common hallway is still being renovated but on the right will be the door to my unit this area where the fireplace is will be an entry area with the living room being in the middle of the space and the kitchen is obviously at the back it was sunny earlier but now it's raining so the space isn't looking very cozy but leave that up to me I will definitely make this place super cozy so there was a wall here that divided the house into three but I removed that in order to make better use of the space this here was open to the stairwell but now it's closed in and has all the hookups for the TV the kitchen is pretty much the same except for the wall that we took down here that housed a pocket door we rebuilt the half wall not only to cover up the flooring that was missing underneath but I also felt like it would be a nice anchor to the end of the island to have a little half wall here so heading downstairs we have the beautiful new white oak stairs we're still missing some elements such as the hidden doors under the stairs that are gonna close off the storage area and the closet handles are looking really good I'm happy with them but I will need to finish both the handles and the stairs so that they stand up to the test of time the bedroom has been finished for a while now since it's literally just a room it's not anything fancy yet but it will be the bathroom still has some minor details such as the glass to close in the one side of the shower I need to paint the tub and remove the old silver fixtures that are still in the tub but overall I'm loving how it's coming together the Delta pieces look amazing everything is pretty much exactly how I imagined which is insane speaking of imagining do you remember what this basement looked like before I seriously don't know if I've ever seen such an impressive glow up I personally love that we kept the textured wall it really gives character to the space which I am very concerned about losing once we start making a bunch of these upgrades and modern changes well since we still 10 minutes on that washer and then I think we're going to do a whole nother load while they have to dry I want to start bringing some stuff downstairs at least main floor basement might as well get it out of upstairs which is not my unit how is this everything I like own in this little room no lock me in here Wow that's all for now doesn't look like a big dent but the whole corners gone Monte's then today I'm here at Home Depot because I placed a curbside pickup order so that I can start painting the main floor of my house so I'm a new homeowner so I had to buy a ladder because apparently those are the things you buy when you're homeowner so I bought a ladder and some painting supplies and I think they just put it in the car I don't know they said you this open no no online orders only wait two days this is a pretty good system now don't be angry don't be angry don't be angry gotta be positive and now we wait got it letter homeowner so this is what I'm dealing with here this is a wooden trim these are plugs in that wooden trim now there might be a reason for this but usually there isn't guys you do not need to use plugs in wood wood is gonna hold your screws just fine so do me and everybody else a favor and yourself and don't pre-drill put in plugs and then use screws just use screws right into the wood it's a lot nicer than this so it has been a couple days of prepping and you know putting holes and putting on primer coats but it is time to finally put my paint color on the wall and for those of you that are wondering I went with the Benjamin Moore simply white and a flat for the ceiling in a semi-gloss for the trim and for the walls I went with a slightly warmer white than the ceiling in the trim and I went with the Benjamin Moore white dove in a eggshell I'm never gonna do something fun with I think the fireplace and maybe the front door to my unit so I definitely want to bring in some interesting accent elements but for now we're gonna do a simple white to get rid of this green and yellow that was on the walls I like the paint whole little ins both legs like pull it sideways now hold that in front of you and shake it left and right not up and down take it left and right you should I head there's a knee up there can you see my pants Japanese hey aunt have a tant problem and I guess it's a man how do we get up there my hair volume it's fine it's fine a little bit but not like you're great look great so I'm pretty much done a half of the space the other half is like the kitchen huh but it's looking really good I'm
