Pelican ProGear U140 Urban Elite Tablet Backpack Review (iPad Backpack)

What's Up Guys: Unboxing the Elite Tablet Backpack from Pelican

Hi everyone, it's Lou from Unbox Therapy, and today we're taking a closer look at the elite tablet backpack from Pelican. As you may know, Pelican is a company that specializes in making incredibly durable cases for all sorts of gear, including shockproof and watertight containers. And if you take a look at this backpack, you'll notice that it features one of those containers right inside the main compartment where you can store your tablet.

The portion of the backpack that holds your tablet is molded to fit various sizes of tablets, so whether you have an iPad, a Galaxy Tab, or something from Asus, this part should accommodate it. I'm going to put an iPad 2 in here for demonstration purposes, and as you can see, it fits snugly inside. This part also has space for a keyboard, which is great if you like to travel with one of those.

The really important thing about this backpack is the giant clasp on top that makes it watertight, dustproof, crushproof – you name it. It's what sets Pelican apart from other brands when it comes to protecting your gear. But it also has regular backpack functionality, so you've got multiple pockets available in the front compartment for storing various items.

The materials used in this backpack have a high-quality finish that feels tough and rugged. The padding on the back of the unit is designed to keep you comfortable while carrying heavy loads, and there are channels to allow air to flow through, which helps prevent overheating. Pelican has also included a midsection chest strap to make it easier to carry heavier loads.

One of my favorite features in this backpack is the bottle openers on each shoulder strap. It's always nice to have one of those handy when you're traveling and want to enjoy a beverage from your pack. The straps themselves are very comfortable, with soft materials and padding on the interior side, making them easy to wear for extended periods.

Now, I want to show you some additional pockets inside the backpack. These two compartments on the interior side of the unit can be used to store camera gear or other items that require a bit more protection. What's interesting about these pockets is that they're hidden behind your back if you're in an area where you might be worried about theft or pickpocketing. The zippers are contained, so your belongings are safe.

The top pocket also has a clear view of the tablet portion of the backpack, which is made of a very rigid and protective material. And if that's not enough, Pelican has included a zip-up water bottle holder that's convenient to use when you need it, but can be stowed away when you don't.

One thing to note is that this backpack comes in different sizes, including one that fits larger laptops. If you're interested in carrying a laptop with you, there's also a larger version of this model available. I'll include a link to the pricing and availability in the description below for those who want to learn more about it.
