**Creating a Bohemian Fourth of July Celebration**
As I sat in front of my array of scrap fabric, ranging from tones of white to tones of blue, I knew that I was on the right track. I wanted to create a bohemian-inspired celebration for my Fourth of July gathering, and this eclectic mix of fabrics would be the perfect starting point. With a pair of scissors and some twine at hand, I set out to tear strips of fabric, creating a tattered, scrap-look effect that perfectly embodied my bohemian style.
The fun part of this project was stringing up these strips of fabric above the table to create a whimsical, romantic atmosphere. I chose two pieces of twine and got to work, carefully arranging the strips in a way that would look effortless, yet deliberate. The uneven lengths of the strips added to the haphazard charm of the arrangement, which I loved. As I worked, I considered cutting some of the strips in half to create even more fabric scraps, further adding to the eclectic feel of the display.
Once I had my twine arrangement complete, I turned my attention to the table itself. I wanted to add a pop of color and interest to the space, so I gathered a few vintage China plates from the thrift store, including white and blue ones that perfectly fit the patriotic theme. To give these ordinary plates an extra-special touch, I created stamps out of potatoes and used porcelain paint to create organic, mismatched designs. By cutting the potato into shapes and stamping them onto the plates, I was able to add a unique, handmade quality to each piece.
As I worked on my table decorations, I also considered the ground beneath my feet – or rather, the rug that would anchor the space. Outdoor rugs are perfect for bringing color and texture to an outdoor setting, so I chose a beautiful blue-and-white rug that added a pop of patriotism to the entire setup. I was thrilled with how it looked, and felt like it truly grounded the space.
Finally, I turned my attention to the centerpiece itself – a charming little end table that would add a cozy touch to the gathering. By covering it with a vintage table runner featuring red, white, and blue colors, I was able to tie in the patriotic theme while still maintaining an eclectic feel. To complete the look, I added some candies and sparklers to create a warm, inviting glow.
**Tips for Creating Your Own Bohemian Fourth of July Celebration**

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everybody welcome it's summer I love summer and I love the fourth of July so today's episode is all about putting together a DIY festive beautiful quirky outdoor setup for you and your friends to enjoy so let's do it hello alright so since my 4th of July party has to happen outdoors because it's summer guys right you got enjoy this beautiful weather whoo I'm gonna pull together this pergola which is actually in my backyard I'm gonna take the colors red white blue and reinterpret them starting with a rope balloon streamer so I got this big wall behind me which is actually our garage you can see there's some bare beige wall which is not exactly festive so I want to dress it up so I've got this mr. Kate sign that we made on a faux piece of brick with a painted logo as my Center art piece to the wall you guys at home could use a cool piece of wood you find or you could just do the balloon streamer so you need some rope some twine balloons scissors and this is helpful this is an air pump so I don't pass out while blowing up all these balloons first step I need to measure this rope and figure out how long each streamer is gonna be so me bring this over to my wall area loop it over make sure I've got enough black to tie it securely and then I do want it to drape on the floor just a tiny bit which is gonna wait down my streamer if you want to make sure that your rope isn't gonna unravel just take a piece of tape and wrap it around the bottom and then I'm just gonna cut right here in the center of this piece of tape so now I just got to cut my other pieces to flank both sides of the sign next I'm going to blow up my balloons okay let me really just thing and got it starting down below this tweak off spot I'm going to take piece of twine tie it around my little knot here tie this around the rope and I'm just gonna continue doing this down the length of the rope alternating my colors maybe I'll do an ombre really it's up to you this is where you get to get creative all right get this knot nice and take care all right so here are my balloon framers as you can see this is a great solution if you don't have a helium tank because tying them all together in these clusters they look very bountiful next project I want to do something above the table I'm going to do a table scape later on but above it we already have these twinkle lights strong but these are here year-round so I want to do something a little bit more festive for the fourth of July so again keeping with my theme of taking red white and blue and reinterpreting it I have an array of scrap fabric in front of me and you can see it ranges from tones of white to tones of blue some twine and a pair of scissors I'm going to tear strips of it because I want that kind of bohemian tattered scrap looks about a two inch piece this is the fun part look at all these strips of fabric so now I gotta get these onto a piece of twine or probably a couple of pieces of twine because I want to string them up above the table to kind of reign down romantically whimsically these are going to King down a lot I might actually end up cutting these in half which is good because I'll get even more pieces of fabric as you can see these are kind of uneven I like it looking sort of haphazard but these are all really long so I'm just gonna now go around and trim them and I'm just gonna do this really randomly I don't want them all to be the same length so I'm just grabbing them and trimming them and if you kind of fold them in half as you trim you're gonna get that little v-shape ribbon after I'm done trimming this guy I'm gonna hang this second one alright so as you can see I've got this area above the table nicely covered I've got this wall here all decorated so now I've got a focus on the table but before I do the table top I want to do something to the ground here I love using rugs outside there's outdoor rugs they really ground a space bring in color so I gotta bring in a beautiful rug so let's do it Joey Joey huh where is he Brad I don't know where Joey is can you help me yeah I'll get it okay thank you yeah yeah you want a property camera uh okay well under up are you okay good good did the other yeah yeah yeah it's your health cam a yes yeah yeah yeah okay here we go Joey there you are beautiful yeah keeping with the red white and blue theme I have a bunch of vintage China here I love the look of vintage China I think it just has that bohemian quality we took a track to the thrift store and just gathered a bunch of white plate and blue plate if you go to your local thrift store and they don't have a bunch of plates or not enough you can make your own little bread plates and that's I'm going to show you how to do here with this little gathering of stuff these are just very inexpensive plain white plates potatoes and some glass porcelain paint so what I'm going to do is I'm actually going to make stamps out of the potatoes and stamp them onto these plates to bring them in with the whole sort of mismatched vibe I'm going to cut these in half then I'm going to take this paring knife which is a smaller knife and I'm just going to kind of cut in to the potato making some sorry-looking shapes I'm going to put some of this light blue here into this paper plate make sure they're nice and covered so now I'm going to start doing this to my plate now you could go all over them you could just do one in the center oh look at that I love how organic these look because that's just my style I like sort of the haphazard thing if you want more exact star shapes and I would advise using an actual stamp now with this porcelain paint you want to either let it dry for 21 days I don't have 21 days before my party so you can also bake them which cures the paint right away so I'm gonna do that head-on and put these in the oven quickly cure the paint before the party you can check out the link in the description for the blog post which will tell you how long to bake these and how much and all that oops this is just a little end table I actually love using furniture that's normally used inside outside for parties because it makes it feel like much more homey like an outdoor room for my centerpiece I'm gonna use this table runner that I found at the thrift store as well so it's perfect because it's got blue in it y'over cover crustal blue and white candies and some red licorice some sparklers this is just gonna kind of wine down the table you I love it I seriously am obsessed with this guys I hope you like it I need perfect it has like a coziness we have the red white and blue here very clearly but there's no Flags anywhere it's still patriotic though hope you love it hope you got some ideas to DIY your own fourth of July get-together so please subscribe to because why not and also comment cuz I love hearing from you guys I want to
