Huawei MediaPad M5 Complete Walkthrough

**Huawei Media Pad M5s Camera Walkthrough**

The Huawei Media Pad M5s has a range of camera features that allow you to take control of your photos and videos. This setting allows you to take a long exposure shot that holds the shutter open for four to eight seconds, allowing more light to enter and creating interesting effects. You can also use this feature to create panoramic shots, which are essentially wide photos taken by stitching multiple images together.

In addition to long exposure shots, the Media Pad M5s also allows you to take light painting photos. This feature uses a flashlight or other light source to paint within a photo, creating unique and artistic effects. The device also features a time lapse mode that allows you to shoot at lower frame rates, effectively speeding up video footage.

The camera app on the Media Pad M5s also includes a range of filters and adjustments that can be applied to photos taken in Live View or after capture. These include Instagram-style filters, watermarks, and document scanner functionality. The latter allows you to take photos of documents or other items and automatically crops and brightens them.

**Camera Settings**

When it comes to camera settings, the Media Pad M5s offers a range of options for photo resolution, including 13 megapixels in a four by three aspect ratio, 10 megapixels in a sixteen by nine, and so on. The device also features video recording capabilities, with options for 4K at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 frames per second, 720p at 30 frames per second, and VGA at 640x480.

Interestingly, the Media Pad M5s also includes a RAW format option that allows you to capture images in this format. This can be useful for advanced photo editing after the fact. Additionally, the device features GPS tagging, which allows you to store location data in the metadata of image files. There is also an assistive grid feature, which allows you to add various grids to the viewfinder while taking photos to help line up shots.

**Additional Camera Features**

In addition to these camera settings and features, the Media Pad M5s also includes a few other notable features. These include a mirror reflection mode that flips the front-facing camera around to resemble a big mirror, which can be useful for self-portraits. There is also a mute feature that turns off camera sound, as well as an audio control option that allows you to take photos with your voice by saying "cheese" or when your voice hits a certain decibel level.

The device also features touch-to-capture functionality, which allows you to tap the screen to take a photo. There is also a capture smiles feature that automatically takes a photo as soon as it detects anyone's smiling in the scene. The Media Pad M5s also includes a focus and hold shutter icon option, which allows you to choose whether you want to lock the focal length or use burst shots.

**Volume Button Function**

Finally, the Media Pad M5s features volume button functionality that can be customized to perform different actions when pressed. This includes taking a photo, pushing the shutter, zooming in and out, or moving the focus.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ennow alongside the mate book 10 Pro that Huawei launched Admiral Connors they also launched two tablets the media pada m5 8.4 and the media pad m5 10.8 they were kind enough to sent and since I had a bit of time with them I figured I would try to do a complete walkthrough so if you're not familiar walkthrough is on this channel at least where I go through every feature I possibly can on a device whether it's a laptop or a tablet or a phone or a camera just so that you are more prepared for everything that it can and can't do if you're looking to potentially buy one now since the devices are very similar I'm just gonna combine them into one walkthrough instead of having to completely sever ones that I just repeat myself over and over again I really quick I know I said there were two devices but there are technically three so there's the m5 8.4 then the m5 10.8 and then there's the m5 10.8 Pro now the only difference between the m5 10 and the m5 10 Pro is the inclusion of a stylus as far as I can tell all of the specs dimensions software I was even told are the same without further ado let's get start with the hardware so now they are all made out of a solid unibody aluminum and are the first tablets actually to feature a 2.5 D curved glass screen which means that the glass is actually curved down into the body which is a nice touch the m5 8.4 inch has an 8.4 inch IPS LCD screen duh while the 10.8 inch is actually a 10.8 inch IPS LCD screen also done both screens have a 2560 by 1600 resolution which gives them different pixel densities of course above the screens we have the same eight megapixel front-facing camera and below we have a home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner normally at this point I go over like the different sides of the device like the top the bottom or left to right etc but it seems that and I'm gonna base this on the Huawei logos on each device that the orientation is technically different the m5 8.4 inch it seems based on that logo would like you to use it in portrait mode whereas the 10-point 8 inch looks more like it should be in landscape so using that here's what comes around the devices so let's start with the bottom of the 8.4 inch which has a USB C port no headphone jack on either of these devices by the way and one of our dual speakers which are tuned by Harman Kardon at the top of the 8.4 inch we have the other speaker on the Left we have just our sim card slot that also is a micro SD card slot as well on the right we have our volume buttons and power button and on the bottom of the 10.8 inch model we have two of our four Harman Kardon speakers and our keyboard connector which we'll get to more in a sec on the top of that we have nothing on the left we have nothing as well and on the right we have basically everything the USB C port the SIM card micro SD combo volume buttons and power button now in the back of both we have a 13 megapixel camera with an F 2.2 aperture now all the tablets have built-in LTE Wi-Fi of every variety and bluetooth 4.2 and I noticed they both actually have messaging and dialer apps and I tested it they allow you to send SMS and also make phone calls using whatever SIM card is in the SIM card tray which is kind of a rare thing for tablets they're powered by the keren 960 chipset and they all have four gigs of ram and the 8.4 inch version has a 51 milliamp battery that Huawei says can be charged fully in 1.9 hours thanks to its quick charge technology and the 7500 milliamp battery in the 10.8 inch can be fully charged using that same tech in about 2.9 hours the media pad m5 Pro comes with the M pen as I mentioned it's an active pen that you can use as a stylus that is 4096 level pressure sensitivity and two buttons that are used for erasing taking screenshots launching apps etc you can slide the clip over on the pen to reveal the USBC port that allows you to charge it wall way says it will fully charge the pen in a hundred minutes and can be used for up to 50 days on one charged and that's based on a two hour per day use on the software side the devices both run Android 8.0 with mui 8.0 on top and since it's the same version that we are used to i'll skip over the system itself and let's just go over some of the more unique apps that Huawei has included on these devices in particular firstly we need to talk about desktop mode so the m5 10.8 inch with this keyboard connector can slide into a keyboard case like this one from Huawei that has an actual clickable Keys a glass trackpad etc and it will automatically switch to desktop mode now in desktop mode it will resemble a PC complete with a copy of the Windows XP default background apparently with a version of a Start menu with all of your apps in it and a taskbar that shows your open apps and normal status icons now tapping on the time will open the calendar app in a moveable window and tapping on the other icons will bring up something that resembles the Notification Center in Windows 10 that will have all of your quick settings and yes notifications you can also use the trackpad to get a mouse and apps optimized by Huawei can be turned into Windows while the other ones will just open as full screen apps now you can always go back to normal Android tablet home screen mode by pulling down the notification shade and tapping the desktop mode icon and you can use this obviously in Reverse to get to desktop mode if you aren't already in it now real quick let's go through the apps that Huawei has pre-installed alright first up we have asphalt nitro which is a racing car game then we have backup which is a phone backup & restore program which works for the tablet booking.com which is bloatware that just takes you to booking comms website dragon mania which is a dragon game files there on file explorer that can sort by type of file or location gallery which is their own photo album that sorts photos videos by albums and locate hi care which is huawei's customer service portal Kids Korner which is an app that actually allows you to lock the entire tablet and head it to your child it'll gives them games and certain other things that are within that kids corner but also the cool part about it is that if they try to leave it it requires of pins this way they can't mess around with the tablet they're kind of locked into this little ecosystem then we have kingdoms which is a Disney based game that's kind of like an RPG we have mirror which is a strange app to use as a mirror because it offers basically the same functions as just turning on the selfie camera then we have monster class which is also a kids based game although it's not the same where it locks you out but it's just clearly geared towards children where it teaches them etc we have music which is Huawei's own music player notes a simple note taking application phone clone which allows you to download the app on another device and quickly transfer all of your photos videos apps etc from one to the other puzzle pets which is a game of some sort then we have Rick quarter which is a simple voice recording app sim toolkit which allows you to adjust how the sim is used in the device spider-man ultimate power which is a Marvel based spider-man game then we have tablet management which is the same as their phone management app by the way it's just called tablet I love that they change the name of that but they didn't change the name of phone cloning but anyway it's an app used for cleaning up the cash storage monitoring or limiting mobile data battery monitoring and even scanning for viruses themes where you can buy or download new themes from wall ways repository tips which is Huawei's app for showing how to get the most out of your device videos which is always built in video player and finally weapon which is a basic weather app with weather data provided by AccuWeather and lastly the m5 8.4 inch seems to come with office suite on it but the 10.8 inch comes with WP office instead at least on the models that i have now i have to assume that this has something to do with WPS being optimized for the desktop mode allowing you to use it as a windowed app whereas office probably is but that's just I boxes and now for the camera on the normal photo and video modes we have the following promo which allows you to adjust all of the cameras functions like ISO shutter speed exposure auto focus white balance etc Pro video which is the same concept as pro mode but for video obviously HDR which is a mode on huawei devices instead of actually just being automatically detected in Auto like most manufacturers but I don't understand that night shot now this setting allows you to take a long exposure shot that holds the shutter open for four to eight seconds to let in more light panorama which we're used to that lets you take a wider photo by stitching photos together light painting which allows you to create long exposure photos that you've undoubtedly seen on social media somewhere basically you can use a flashlight or any sort of light source to paint within a photo time lapse which allows you to shoot at lower frame rate so if I sped up video all focus which is a mode that allows you to take a photo and then adjust the focus after the fact filter which is Instagram ask filters that can be applied to the Live View and photos watermark think snapchat stickers but based on my time location etc but from huawei document scanner which allows you to take photos of documents or anything that resembles one really and it'll automatically crop it and brighten it and good food which is available in the downloads more section and allows you to choose manually what I assume that the AIC detection of some of their other devices does automatically which is - that it recognizes food and you turn up the saturation basically and now real quick let's dive into the settings of the media pet m5s camera photo resolution you can choose from 13 megapixels in a four by three aspect 10 megapixels in a sixteen by nine 10 megapixels in a one by one 8 megapixels in a four by three and six megapixels in a 16 by 9 for video resolution we have 4k and I'm assuming 30 frames per second then we have 1080p and 60 frames and 1080p and 38 720p in 30 as well VGA for some reason at 640 by 480 and 30 frames per second you VGA even more curiously and then MMS which is 176 by 144 according to this RAW format which if you're shooting a promo de to let you capture these RAW format photos now if you don't know what those are then you probably don't need to enable this but suffice it to say that it allows for more complex photo editing after the fact GPS tag which you can turn on and off depending whether you want location data stored in the metadata of the image file assistive grid which allows you to add various grids to the viewfinder while taking an image to help you line up shots I personally always use this with every camera just so you know mirror reflection now this flips the front-facing camera around to more resemble that a big mirror and more of the reason why we don't need the mirror app in my opinion there you go mute which turns off camera sound because why would you ever want a shutter sound frankly I don't know timer which lets you set a timer for when the
