Korokoro Animal Mochi - Whatcha Eating #164

**Article: How to Make Quota Anima – Adorable Animal-Shaped Mochi Candies**

---

Welcome back, crafty friends! Today, we’re diving into a fun and creative project that’s both delicious and adorable. It’s called **Quota Anima**, and it involves making tiny animal-shaped candies out of mochi dough. If you’ve ever wondered how to create those cute little creatures you see on social media, wonder no more! Let’s get started.

---

### What You’ll Need:

Before we begin, let’s gather our materials. Inside the Quota Anima kit, you’ll find:

- **Three powders**: strawberry and chocolate (with a third flavor hidden inside).

- **One lollipop stick** for shaping.

- **One tray** to mix your ingredients.

Note: The kit didn’t come with a dropper, but Emmy recommends saving one from another kit. Trust us—they’re super handy for precise measurements!

---

### Step-by-Step Guide:

#### 1. Preparing the Dough:

- Fill the tray up to the indicated line with water.

- Add your chosen powder (strawberry or chocolate) and mix well.

- Once the dough forms a ball, use your impeccably clean hands to divide it into five pieces.

---

#### 2. Making the Chocolate:

- In tray number three, add water up to the fill line.

- Mix in the chocolate powder until smooth.

- Divide this mixture into three equal parts.

---

#### 3. Creating the Animals:

##### a. Strawberry Pig:

- Take one of your pink strawberry mochi pieces and dip it in water.

- Roll it in the Cal cot powder (a white dusting powder) to give it texture.

- Repeat the dipping and rolling process a few times until the pig doubles in size.

##### b. Chocolate Panda:

- Form another piece into a small ball for the panda’s body.

- Smush it slightly to create ears and dip those ears in water to make them stick.

- Add a nose using leftover dough or a tiny blob of mochi.

- For the eyes, use a white powder or tiny pieces of mochi. Stick these on with a bit of water.

##### c. Elephant:

- Shape one piece into an oval for the body and flatten one end to create the trunk (which Emmy charmingly refers to as “a turd”).

- Add ears by rolling small pieces and sticking them in place.

- Use a white powder or mochi bits for eyes.

##### d. Puppy Dog:

- Create a tiny ball for the dog’s head.

- Roll out two small ovals for ears and stick them on.

- Shape another piece into a long tail and attach it securely with water.

---

#### 4. Final Touches:

- Once all your animals are shaped, let them sit to firm up slightly.

- Patch any holes or uneven areas using the leftover dough.

- Add any final details, like additional ears or eyes, using tiny bits of mochi.

---

### Tasting the Creation:

Now that you’ve created your adorable menagerie of animals (including a pig, panda, elephant, and puppy dog), it’s time to taste your hard work!

- The **chocolate mochi** has a sweet flavor with just a hint of cocoa. It’s chewy and bouncy, with the classic mochi texture.

- The **strawberry mochi** is bright pink and fruity, though Emmy admits the flavor feels a bit “fake.” She prefers the chocolate for its rich taste.

---

### Final Thoughts:

This project was a bit tedious but incredibly fun! Working with mochi dough is surprisingly satisfying, and seeing these tiny animals come to life is truly magical. If you’re into DIY candy-making or Japanese crafts, this kit is a must-try.

As for Emmy’s totem animal? She settles on the elephant—it’s wise, strong, and just a little bit quirky, much like her creative projects.

---

### Conclusion:

Quota Anima isn’t just about making candies; it’s about creating something unique and personal. Whether you’re crafting a tiny pig or an enormous elephant, these mochi animals are sure to bring a smile to your face—and maybe even a sweet treat for your taste buds!

Let us know in the comments which animal is your favorite, or if you’ve got a totem animal of your own! Thanks for joining Emmy on this creative journey. See you next time for more fun crafts and tasty treats.
