"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome to another episode of 95 my weekly where we pretty much film on a different camera for every episode I am your host Myles Somerville let's get into the news new rumor on the street suggests that Apple is going to hold a launch event in March mainly for the upcoming iPhone 9 / se - the report doesn't give us that much specificity other than the tidbit that it should be taking place in late March and then the new iPhone should actually be released and available to buy in early April and there have been plenty of reports for other new hardware as well like the high-end over year bluetooth headphones the Apple air tags and the new scissor switch Keys MacBooks are supposed to come out this year these are all devices that couldn't launch at this event and dropping this much stuff at once would definitely keep everyone especially us over here at 9 to 5 Mac pretty busy and given apple's previous track record a March launch of that seems pretty plausible and if so we should definitely start seeing the press invites going out to people pretty soon I'm probably not gonna get invited but it's uh it's whatever I guess speaking of iPhone 9 stuff you might have seen this video as it's been going viral on the interwebs the past couple of days take a look yeah so in case you couldn't already tell this is not real at all apparently there's a guy out there who actually makes fake housings for iPhones and someone thought they could pull a fast one but when actually looking at the video and the phone itself I personally really like the way the device looks he did a pretty good job I know so many people out there want that og iPhone 5 body style back and I think this is a decent middle ground between the two allows the phone to have much flatter sides and I think this works well for this device because it's aluminum I'm not sure how it work on a stainless steel but regardless don't buy this but it would actually be cool if the real deal look like that we've got even more factory / production updates coming from Apple Apple support early started the process of transitioning its air pods iPad and Apple watch production from China over to Taiwan due to continued coronavirus delays Apple's apparently trying to gradually increase production in Taiwan wall still maintaining cooperation with Chinese suppliers Apple said that they're trying to prioritize maintaining the welfare of everyone involved in the supply chain process and while moving at Taiwan isn't the ultimate solution it'll definitely help Apple meet supply demands for now this time of the year is pretty critical for Apple as they've got a bunch of new products and development for this year so hopefully this virus gets emitted soon so things can kind of be back to normal I think everybody wants that right now hey guys this is my desk flex starting off with the desk itself it's a matrix sit-stand desk as you can see it's not electric it's just manual moving on to the front portion of the desk key we have the trusty and faithful Logitech MX master 2s moving on to the left this does look like a Apple keyboard but it's not I was running low on cash and had to make some budget cuts somewhere moving on to the left there's something I wasn't willing to make a budget cut on is the Apple Magic Trackpad - I have the Google home Mini the trusty tech youtuber fake plant a Qi wireless charger just some kind of generic brand and have a budget cut and on that I charged my Apple earpods they're really comfortable to use when I'm editing video when I want to get really surgical with audio editing I have my biodynamic DET 770 pros these are about ten years old I kind of need new ones and they go into this Universal Audio arrow we have the Samsung t5a bind here have the WD my passport I think this is about one terabyte and I'm also using the hyperdrive I just actually ordered the hyperdrive 2.0 which will be amazing because as you can see here I'm running out of spaces and this here actually very early on it kind of broke on me so I can't actually use the Thunderbolt port then we have the 2016 15 inch MacBook Pro and plugged into that we have the LG 27 u 527 inch 4k monitor moving around to the back it's just a dual monitor and I just got the modification on me so I could hold the laptop so thanks guys that is my desk flex 2020 you know Gabriel awesome setup I think there's a definitely a lot of things in there that inspired me I love how you have that keyboard that looks totally like an Apple keyboard but it totally uses one save money live better for sure one thing I suggest maybe you want to upgrade in the future just having a docking station that you can kind of have just like one came with a plug in I see that you've got all four Thunderbolt ports on your Mac look occupied I'm sure that's got to be a little annoying when like you know taking it home from work or whatever and setting it back up on the desk setup so eventually maybe you can cop a you know some sort of docking station I kind of get an all through one sort of solution but otherwise awesome setup super clean cable management goals honestly it's a really nice video editing setup I'm a little jealous this is a really interesting story Twitter's actually testing out a new feature that can supposedly label and point out febri and fake news from public figures and politicians and if Twitter decides to stick with it we should see this officially arrive as soon as next month Twitter confirmed with NBC that it's currently testing the feature but they're not sure if they're gonna roll it out for all users or not and the whole point of Twitter doing this is to delegitimize a lot of BS thrown out there by Twitter trolls and give the truthful more control than narrative there isn't much detail on how this new feature actually works but I'd assume it's just based off of machine learning technology and adding something like this is really really going to alter the overall dynamic of the platform but firstly let's see if Twitter actually goes through with it or not we've talked a little bit about the upcoming iPad pro update but digit Times was hinting at a potential March reveal date for the new 12-inch version of the titular tablet a report from digit time says that the new Pro is supposed to feature a rear-facing triple camera setup similar to what we've got on the iPhone 11 pro and a 3d time-of-flight sensor I don't think we really need that triple camera setup on an iPad pro but if they're not going to make it more expensive then I guess it's perfectly fine with me having those two extra cameras wouldn't hurt for those two times I'm going to use it and as far as the 3d time-of-flight sensor implementation I think that's definitely something that pro users are gonna take advantage of especially for augmented reality scenarios but I guess we'll have to see how Apple actually innovates upon that tech for the iPad that's gonna be about it for the news this week we've pretty much got one more week left of February so as March approaches things are definitely gonna start heating up match market match Martinus as they call it March Madness as they call it is slowly approaching especially on the Apple side of things so we'll definitely keep you updated so make sure to subscribe if you enjoyed hit that thumbs up button and comment if you have any feedback thanks for watching and I'll talk to you guys in the next onewelcome to another episode of 95 my weekly where we pretty much film on a different camera for every episode I am your host Myles Somerville let's get into the news new rumor on the street suggests that Apple is going to hold a launch event in March mainly for the upcoming iPhone 9 / se -
