Spoon Honda S2000 Review! Will Honda Ever Return to Glory
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to a spoon s2000 so this is one of the rarest kits in the world for the s2000 and it looks absolutely magnificent it has so much detail so much going on the wide-body on it looks like it's really fluid and the car gets even bigger hips that originally did and along with that it's got the big diffuser in the back in the wing in the hood it all just comes together the front bumper has a very menacing presence and this also has the hardtop which looks fantastic on the s2000 only bad thing about the hardtop on the nest mm is that you don't have a truck anymore in order to get to the trunk you have to remove an entire piece of the hardtop in order to access the trunk so it's not just like oh I need to put something quickly in the s2000 now it is a whole different thing when it comes to spoon parts they are some of the most expensive parts on the automotive aftermarket because of their rarity their reputation their proven race history and the race car drivers like a gauge cluster even from spoon is maybe a thousand bucks for an old Civic it's insane but at the same time even the orange pinstripe that goes down the side of this car is $200 because it's a spoon pinstripe kind of reminds me of the ridiculous options you would get unlike a Porsche or something so like red seatbelts $200 it's just one of those things that you have the reputation to hold up and their reputation was to build amazing cars therefore even if it's s people would still buy it I've even seen spoon brake booster covers go for like five hundred dollars just because it has the name spoon on it it's ridiculous so this s2000 is an 8 B 2 s mm the a B 2 s mm is one of my favorite cars that has ever been made my uncle had one and it was the second car I ever drove that was manual and it was also the car that finally convinced me that Honda's were incredible cars the s2000 is one of those cars that universally almost everyone agrees is that it's in Honda's best of all time album right it's in the best of all time at the peak of Honda engineering in the early 2000s the intersects was still around reason it's called the s2000 because it was for the new millennium like it was just a cool car all the way around too fast too furious brought it into the scene along with the for Speed Underground the number one thing about the s2000 that made me really love Honda's was the way that this car goes in to VTEC Buie it breaks so hard my sleeve went down and I have tucked up I feel like I'm literally in a need for speed underground or in a racing game I just did all the body I just did everything and this is the end result if there was a contest for best manual shifter ever made by a production company my vote would be the s2000 the s2000 is a car that wants you to rev all the way to the top it wants you to shift and shift aggressively it doesn't really like it if you don't shift aggressive enough it's something I've noticed over the years and it's also very very easy to get carried away in the ends mm see just like that if you don't catch it in time it's very unforgiving the s2000 has a very lightweight flywheel so you have to keep up with the car the car is challenging you business mm also has floor mats from Japan and as a signature by the spoon guys themselves and also you can always recognize spoon race cars with the signature blue and yellow livery and in Fast and Furious it was they were ordering spoon engines for their cars motor wise is s2000 is stock and you know what I think that's okay he can really enjoy the car for what it is doesn't have to worry about anything going wrong and he can just rev it all the way out I've driven a supercharged one I briefly driven a turbo one but those are just completely different cars pretty much and I've also stayed at that bass 2000 is the closest thing you'll ever get to a 4-cylinder fiber the reason I say that is because the limit is so high on the car once you break the limit you're toast you're gonna understeer you're gonna snap the rear all the way around you just don't know also the steering wheel just feels so good with the materials done it's also got the titanium exhaust at the back I absolutely love the hood scoop as well the hood scoop is functional oh my god it's so good every time I Drive an s2000 I just forget how good they are and how much fun they are they are the scarier Miata whoa gather so much but it makes you work for it and when you shift into second and third you get that job because it just grips there's no spinning because there's not a lot of torque therefore all the horsepower comes in later there's the creaking for our top even though the hardtop does make the s2000 look a million times better there is a lot of noise from it definitely speaking of that the s2000 had the record for highest horsepower naturally aspirated four-cylinder the only issue with having a kit like this is one you can hear their hardtop all the time too it's always on backorder because spoon doesn't make these anymore they don't make this kid anymore therefore it's either on backorder or you have to wait months and months in months to get it all together it's like an 18,000 taller package when you do see a spoon addition as two thousand it is special cherish the moment cuz you probably won't see another what a good another thing too is that he has öhlins suspension öhlins is one of the best suspicion company's ever conceived because of their adjustability and the way they work the thing about öhlins is that it's extremely expensive but it is worth the money it's so easy to rent matching this thing too and with new cars like the Civic type-r and they just don't have the same character as cars like these the s2000 is your friend and your worst enemy the higher revving natchez rated motor turbos are great but the sound of the tape are versus this I just know it's just not as good but the tight bar is it a better car all in all probably I always forget that the s2000 has just drivers in mind it's just one of those cars that the passenger they don't matter everything is about the driving experience because you're gonna need the focus for the driving experience I always said that if I had the choice between like an FRS tour gt86 or really s2000 I wouldn't take it even though it's a much older car I would take the s2000 we also have a functional wing in the back that definitely keeps the back end on the ground you can actually physically feel it compared to a stock one sidenote the owner of this car it really is this spoon s2000 he's got a freaking 2019 camaro zl1 and you want to talk about how drastically different these two cars are this is all about balance control self control zero one is just it's intense the whole time all in suspension with the brakes with the kit with the wing this is by far one of the most but like it's by far one of the best setup mountain cars I've ever had the pleasure of driving and it's really sad because I have to give it back I also give Honda props or I never make it an automatic version of this car they literally said no we're gonna make sure that the people work for it and they get the proper driving experience they were supposed to this car would be absolutely ruined by an automatic transmission nowadays it's a debate but with this car with the times the area and came out this would have been awful also they didn't skip out after the spoon kit they put work wheels on this thing and the works on this thing are just absolutely beautiful the three-piece wheels so they are absolutely no slouch well-made well-built incredibly beautiful the color contrasts with the silver color this silver is so much more vibrant than I remember and it just really suits how angry this car looks like what it's in your rear view mirror it's just a different type of fun it's a different type of philosophy you never buy this car thinking you're gonna build a horsepower piece unless you plan on spending a lot of money people even put 8-inch rear ends from Ford and these things for drag racing so what do you guys think of the s2000 what do you think of the spoon kit what are you to go a hardtop is it worth getting with all that money is spoon and overrated brands do you think everything they sell is ridiculous let
