winger just lost a wheel or something on the way to the track so we're gonna go we're gonna see what they're doing need some help i think we're all right i think we've got it let's hold it so we can get the wheel back on did it just come off always driving put them in the ditch oh take it off and then you've got zip ties you just zip tight to the axle jeez what happened stud's broke we lost the wheel while he's driving how far did you guys go down i was about one foot from that i came out here with matt but he uh you see the tire tracks oh damn he had quite the ride through here so it looks like what they're trying to fix on top of they could probably get it to the track on two studs but the problem is when the wheel came off it looks like the caliper bracket got bent back pretty good and the calipers like flopped over so they have to straighten that out so they can get the rotor back on or at least get the caliper maybe get the caliper off and get the rotor back on so they can at least get it to the track and work on it more there it's not an ideal place to do this but wheel just came off so they don't really have a choice frost yes sir can you say what's the game plan here um we're gonna we're gonna take the caliper off and we're gonna zip tie it to the axle and then we're gonna take a pair of vice grips and crimp off the rubber line so that the back brakes aren't working right he'll be just on the front brakes put the wheel back on and then he can get it to the track and finish up fixing everything and get it back together gotcha when i say you got to fix it where you break it this isn't quite what i was intending on rules are rules you made the rules ross i know this wasn't what i this isn't what i had in mind hey there we go daily right this is uh yeah let me get today we have made it to kearney raceway it was a 460 mile drive yesterday grueling drive for a lot of these guys and on top of that it's going to be like 106 degrees today so i'm going to try to stay cool i'm going to check around with all these people i know a lot of people had troubles on the road just because of heat and a couple people lost their breaks in the mountains luckily i don't think anybody got in a wreck or anything like that but uh a lot of struggles we're gonna walk around see how it see how everybody made it find out if there's any struggles and uh yeah bring you guys some racing action here a little bit hey guys you know it's day six and you're here right yes we are let me give you that real quick any troubles on that 500 mile drive yesterday i mean do you want me to lie or do you want me i want you to tell me the exact truth because if it broke and you fix it that's an awesome story oh well i i don't know yet so while we were driving i feel like uh the train is making some weird noises at this point i mean it's a tko faceplate transmission so those are already kind of noisy all right um now it's more like a like a violent noisy is it more straight cut gears than those things or what no it still has the helicals in that it's just it's just face plated so the only synchro that's in first but the big thing was is when we went down that big hill uh all the way down to the flats into loveland um i just de-sailed in third gear didn't really use the brakes at all and then when we got to the bottom of the hill like you couldn't even touch the shifter and then trying to put it in first gear it wouldn't go in wow so i was like ah turn off pull off let it cool down um did fresh fluids in it changed it out um it was a little pixely inside there and then drove all the way here uh with earmuffs on two pairs so we didn't have to hear it and uh got here drained the fluid again still has the glitter in it so i don't know it could be either it doesn't look like it's anything um i guess gear related it looks more like uh like a copper brass related so i've got like tail housing like a uh bushing or something housing or is it that what you said it's only got the one synchro in think it's a synchro brass or now well that's the thing though it's not grinding though i mean it's it's through it could be doing something i don't know i don't know so i'm not gonna take the transmission out to find out gotcha so we're just gonna we're gonna find out you're prepping it just like normal putting new fluids in it guys i'm just basically trying to go another literally just kicked it on the back end nice yeah so i feel like get the front half dialed in and that will help i don't know my goal for this week was to finish and run a nine and i feel like this this thing is uh they're going they're going strong apparently our friend in the heap it's the teal jeep that's been rolling around uh it's eight second jeep really quick car apparently he had some struggles on the road that was pretty dramatic so we're gonna check in with him and figure out what the issues were the heap all right when he told me he had some struggles on the road yes so it sounded a little dramatic the seal went bad in the mechanical pump fed it through the cable drive to the front of the motor and we stopped at estes park at that first checkpoint and it was literally spraying out of the cable drive all over the front of the motor the fuel was yes so then we had to disconnect the cable i don't have a valve on the gas tank so i literally had to undo a 12a in line and hurry up and stick a fitting in there to quit from draining the whole thing uh-huh and it's all the way down ran all over everywhere laying the gas so then we got all put back together and i went to the car wash and had him wash me off in the car wash he's got a picture of it it's just fuel it's fine oh it smells so bad i'm sure yeah literally i the seal went bad and was spring it ran from the front to the back through the cable and was just spraying fuel all over the front of the motor geez so that could have been that could have been really really bad the heat yesterday yes yeah so that he's been doing good this week right i mean it's been running eights yeah we're doing eight miles okay so pretty much running eight yeah we've ran a few out the back door but we're we're in the routing radio class gotcha what eps have you been running for eight miles so far five fifties okay yeah that's about that's an eight-second car oh absolutely yeah absolutely yeah all day we did an yesterday because i didn't want to try to break it again in denver i have a bunch of parts here so it's going to be turned up as much as it'll make are you doing rowdy radio yep okay gotcha 8th model stuff yep gotcha so i like like i said basics the dsm is still here i was like i have to go talk to the guy i have to go talk to him so it's still doing dsm things but you guys are powering through guy over there he's driving a rotary and i give him just as much every day just because these cars are not known to be reliable and you're still doing i think at this point you've made it over a winston wiper just doesn't work a windshield wiper this is a windshield wiper what are we doing chet so basically uh autozone and all that don't sell blades for the dodge viper they say they do but they don't okay so basically i got one close enough and i'm just customizing it to match this one ish and i'm reusing the brackets that fell off the other one so yeah only set you're making this you're making a windshield wiper look like you're swapping a motor like i look all right that's that's this that's relative to me okay this is the level of stuff okay so so we got blade over here that
