misses something or you take a wrong turn you take a longer turn um you know you take the long route something of that nature I'm sure you all have I know I have for sure um well fear no longer Google Maps is back on iOS yes it is back on iOS as you see right there it just got released yesterday and it's already number one on the free apps list in the App Store um so it is free of course they're not going to charge for it um but let's go ahead and check it out this is version 1.0 and it says it's still in beta although I have not seen any problems or bugs at all with it um but it is said to be still in beta so let's just check it out right here as you see it looks a little bit different of course it's not going to be the 3D look from Apple Maps uh but it is just a little bit uh higher quality and looks a little bit better so it does also have turn by turn navigation and of course some improve features so let's go ahead and just check out some of the things right here on this side if you slide down there at the bottom you can just kind of see your basic uh features right here you can see the traffic the public transit and the satellite views so traffic view as you see right there and we can go ahead and do public transit I don't have public transit right here so I'll I'll show you New York later on then satellite view as you see looks really cool you just zoom in by pinching of course and it loads very very quick which I really like as you see you can just zoom in as much as you want right there and then you also have a new feature down here uh Google Earth you can actually open it up in Google Earth as you see right there that's pretty cool you got to have the uh Google Earth app downloaded though so it goes all the way down all the way down and eventually you will get to what you wanted to open up there you go so that's what we opened up in Google Earth let's go back to Google Maps and let's navigate to somewhere let's navigate to uh New York so you just click the little button right there I'm going to do um from I just do from Jacksonville Florida that's where I live to New York so we can show you some public transit from from Jacksonville to New York and let's see some of the options we get oops so as you see it says it's going to take 14 hours and 40 minutes you can also change your route options to avoid highways or avoid tolls let's go back so as you see there's different routes you can take of course you'd want to take the 14-hour one and you could also reverse it right here if you wanted to and up here you can do the by the bus or uh by walking which uh that would take let's see how long it says there's no route found there's no possible way to do it so let's go ahead and click on the 14-hour one 932 miles and let's just go ahead and click preview down here in the bottom and that is let me just change this to uh take out the satellite and it looks a lot more clear right there another thing I like in this uh Google Maps is that right up here you can swipe to see your next uh turn or whatever you're going to do you see it just shows your next Direction and it also moves on the map as well so wow there's the big one 495 to 95 698 miles so that's a big jump right there but as you see you can do that and also you can um you can do turn by turn navigation as you see right there you just click on it and it will show you all your turns and of course if you click on it it will take you to the map so let's go ahead and show you the uh the public transportation so you can see that oops I'm not in New York let try uh let's try Brooklyn I know there's Public Transit Transit there so there we go as you see right there it shows all your public transportation I don't I don't know how this all works I've never had to deal with public transit but there you go I guess that's just the Subways and and the railroads and all kinds of things like that so that that could be useful I guess if you're in New York or somewhere that has Subways Washington places like that and of course you can do that at the same time a satellite if you want to do that so let's go ahead and take that off and I'm going to be showing you uh another cool feature just search for Apple store I'll do the one in New York that's fine or you can just if you just search Apple Store it will show you your your uh your closest one as well so down here at the bottom it shows we have an Apple store and it says it got a 29 out of 30 from 96 reviews wow that is really good my local one got like a 15 out of 30 or something like that so click on that and this is really cool it shows the uh it shows the hours shows the uh you can call them you can save it you can share it shows street view uh two photos has a website and it shows all your reviews right here it says uh wish you were a nerd all along there's jaw dropping showrooms for Apple's devices so as you see it's it's really cool you can see a lot of different things in here and you can see uh I mean it's real people as you see right there it's all real people giving these reviews you can do the street view more info let's go ahe and do street view as you see right there just look around Yep looks like New York to me so that is really cool that's one of the features I really like this you can do it with uh it's not just the Apple store either you can do let's do Target we'll do uh Target in Brooklyn since that's where I'm already at so as you see we can click it right there and we can do all the same things we could view the street view and things like that okay there where's where's the target oh there it is there's the target man that's a nice looking building right there too huh so that that's just a few of the features and of course you can just make a route to it right from there um choosing your starting point I don't have minus my current location I could but I'll just do uh jackville again to this Target Pharmacy and it will show me how long 15
