A Day on the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail: An Off-Road Adventure

The journey began with a wrong turn, literally. The main road had been taken off by mistake, and the driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, realized it was time to head back in the opposite direction. "I think the best way is just to head back this way," they said, "yep because that's because this way is the Grand Canyon." It turned out, however, that the issue wasn't a dead battery but rather the vehicle being in a park. The driver tried to push it back and forth, but it didn't work.

The jump box was retrieved, and it was discovered that the battery had lost its juice. "Your battery was dead," the driver said, with a hint of disappointment. "Dead dead dead dead dead that's unusual even for my girl." Fortunately, the driver knew how to get back on track, and they consulted with their trusty sidekick, Tom. "We're gonna need some Stellar navigation for you to get out of here," Tom said, as they set off in search of a way out.

The route was tricky, but eventually, they found themselves at the Road. "That's the road I want to get on," the driver said, relief evident in their voice. The GPS led them to a fork in the road, and after some deliberation, they decided to take the left path. As they drove down the bottom of the ravine, they realized that they were getting close to the road. "If we just drive down the bottom of this," the driver said, "we're gonna get to it okay."

The journey continued with a stop at a convenience store, where the driver purchased some supplies and celebrated their progress. "Well that wasn't too bad once we found him," they said, referring to Tom's navigation skills. The team was getting close to their destination, but not quite there yet.

Just as they were about to leave the valley, a call came in from a couple of motorcycles stranded on the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail. One bike had been thrown off its rider due to a deep spot and was bogged down with water. The driver quickly sprang into action, along with Tom and the rest of the team. "We got Brett here with the weather," they said, as they prepared for the rescue mission.

The conditions were good, with temperatures in the 60s and partly cloudy skies. The team set off to catch up with Jamie and the crew behind them in the banana vehicle. As they approached the stranded bikes, they spotted their missing family member trying to start his bike. "He started going already," the driver said, as they geared up for the rescue.

The journey was lined up with several off-road recoveries, including a celebration of Matt's birthday. The Hyundai Tucson Trail proved to be an adventurous route, but the team had navigated their way through it successfully. However, there was a warning about taking this trail: it can be challenging, especially when it comes to communication.

As they made their way back, the driver reflected on their journey and mentioned that they had underestimated the ruggedness of the terrain. "We didn't bring the rugged radios," they said with a chuckle. The team had almost forgotten about them in their excitement for the day's adventures.

The final stretch was marked by triumph as the team successfully unloaded the stranded bikes from the Tucson Trail. With the help of their trusty sidekick, Peanut, they navigated their way back to the yard, where they would unload the vehicles and begin their next adventure – an off-road excursion up Brian Head in the snow.
