Check Out the £1.2m Brabham BT62! _ FIRST LOOK

**A First Look at the Brabham BT 62**

As we explore around the hall, we come across the BT three, the first Formula One car from the British team. This car was a significant milestone for the team, as it marked their entry into the world of Formula One. The BT three went on to compete in Formula One for 13 years, during which time they won an impressive 35 races. The car that stands before us today is distinctly recognizable by its blue and gold livery.

To our left, we have the BT eleven and BT 19, cars that would go on to achieve great success in Formula One. These cars were instrumental in winning the world championships in 1966 and 67, a feat only achieved once in the history of Formula One - when Sir Jack Brabham won the championship in one of these very cars. The success of the BT three, eleven, and 19 paved the way for future generations of racing cars.

**The Evolution of Formula One**

Formula One has undergone many changes over the years, and our collection today reflects some of the most significant innovations. We have the BT 42 and 44 from 1974, which showcase the martini racing livery. These cars were built with a massive engine bolted to the rear, surrounded by just a thin piece of metal. The thought of driving such a car must have been terrifying for the drivers, who had only four pieces of rubber touching down onto the ground.

We also take a look at one of the seats that has been created for the Brabham BT 62. These seats will be designed individually for each customer, with the brand logo proudly displayed on the inside. The seat is designed to provide maximum comfort and support for the driver, with features such as restraints and a headrest.

**The Engine and Design**

Behind the seat, we see the engine that powers the Brabham BT 62 - a 5.4 liter V8 naturally aspirated motor mated to a 6-speed sequential manual gearbox. This is, of course, a race car designed for speed and agility on the track.

As we take a closer look at the car, we notice the attention to detail in its design. The car's shape is coherent from front to rear, making it a striking and intimidating presence. The designers have worked hard to create a car that looks unlike any other on the market, while still being grounded in tradition.

**The Technology**

One of the most exciting features of the Brabham BT 62 is its use of technology to enhance performance. The car features air jacks, which allow drivers to quickly and easily enter and exit the pit lane without having to physically change the tires. This is a major innovation that will revolutionize racing as we know it.

Inside the car, drivers will find a custom steering wheel with all the necessary controls for racing. The interior also features a 12-inch digital display showing all the driver's information and data. This is just one of the many advanced features that make the Brabham BT 62 a cutting-edge racing car.

**Production and Availability**

The Brabham BT 62 will be built in Australia, with a maximum production run of 70 cars. These cars will be sold through a base in Adelaide, as well as a UK-based showroom for customers across Europe and other regions. The price tag for one of these cars? A cool $1 million, excluding taxes.

**The Price Tag**

With a weight of over 1,000 kilograms and downforce of 1,200 kilos, the Brabham BT 62 is undoubtedly a hypercar. And with a price tag of $1.2 million, it's clear that this car is not for the faint of heart.

**A Special Launch**

The launch of the Brabham BT 62 takes place in Australia House, a venue significant to the anglo-Australian roots and heritage of the Brabham family. This is the first ever public showing of the car, and it marks an exciting new chapter in the history of Formula One.

**A Tribute to the Past**

As we look at the 35 races in which Brabham won the championship, we see that these will make up the liveries for the first 35 cars. It's a tribute to the team's rich history and heritage, and a reminder of the successes they've achieved over the years.

**The Future is Here**

And so, with the Brabham BT 62 on display before us, we can't help but wonder what the future holds for this incredible car. Will it succeed where others have failed? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain - this is a car that's built to be fast, powerful, and awe-inspiring.

**A New Era**

As we conclude our first look at the Brabham BT 62, we're left with a sense of excitement and anticipation. This is a car that marks a new era in Formula One, one where technology and innovation come together to create something truly special. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this incredible machine.

but the wraps are gonna be coming off the bt 62 any moment now so let's see to take first look as they are pulled away this is it a brown mumbles amazing we t-62m three right there we have it then the covers are off this unsurprisingly it's proving to be incredibly busy around the car at the moment but let's take a first glance walk around and run over some of the facts figures and details about the car that has just been revealed by David Brabham himself interestingly it's actually the only car that's currently in production in Australia making Australia a bit of a hypercar nation right now so the car is track only it's not street-legal there are going to be 70 of them made but wait until you hear some of the numbers you can tell it's quite an aerodynamic machine but 1,200 kilos of downforce thanks some parts of this ginormous rear wing and also splitter around at the front that we'll take a look at shortly but it's under a thousand kilos nine hundred and seventy two kilos there's a 4.4 liter naturally aspirated v8 pushing out 710 horsepower 700 brake horsepower but what that means is a power-to-weight of seven hundred and thirty PS per ton 730 horsepower per ton which is a huge number what you should be considering effectively is that this is a GT race car David Brabham himself raced at L'Amour he's been evicted victorious a winner at the moment so his experience has very much gone into making it over recent years but this is the result of 12 years of thinking about what would come next what they could do with the Brabham name so the family have created this car brought it back to life this particular livery is a very famous one it's delivery that matched their BT 19 race car in 1966 it raced and won at Reims and France which is the first driven by Sir Jack Brabham that in Formula one a race has been won by a driver driving the cars wearing his own name quite a special statistic he then went on to win the championship that year he won three World Championships himself but probably also won four in their 30 years of racing in fact in the 70s they were actually a manufacturer fulfil manufacturer producing the most race cars open wheels race cars in the world as you look around it though you can tell it's completely as I said arrow things that are opened out for example behind the rear or front wheel wells that you can see there the airflow going down the side in the cooling towards the back running on slick tires thanks to a partnership they have with Michelin to make that possible around the front if we just come down here you can see the overhang of the front splitter huge amount to keep the air flowing freely underneath the car for maximum downforce attack and these are going to be driven on the on the on the racetrack and the whole point of it is that you get an invitation to join their driving training and me so every customer will have the opportunity to fully be part of that to go out and learn how to drive and get the most out of that be t-62 to talk more about the name be T stands for the B of Jack Brabham and the T of John tauranac is designer of the race cars back then but eventually as they come down to the bottom of the diffuser here just look underneath the back of it the carbon-fiber floor so the car is made from a mix of steel and carbon fiber different materials depending where they're required potentially in the future there could be a road car but at the moment it's just for the racetrack with the idea and intent to maybe race it back the more that's something the David Brabham would love to be able to do real it's a very distinctive the shape of them that you have around either side of the car the central exhaust pipes that you have back there obviously mid rear mounted I put four liter na v8 so no doubt it's must sound absolutely tremendous as well the rear wing mounted right there from the center but very closed up at the back that's actually a scoop that you can see over on the rear decklid even towards the back as well but this color the dark green absolutely lovely combination dark green with the gold stripe down the center and go back since around the car this is the prototype this is the demonstration car I suppose there's a really awesome augmented reality configurator that I'm going to show you a little bit later on as well significant race win that particular win that this car matches there are going to be 70 of these built in total to commemorate the 70 years of Brabham from 1948 through to 2018 when it's been unveiled 35 of those will come as standard in liveries of the 35 different cars that one individual Championship of Grand Prix races as part of their championships back in their respective eras then the other 35 cars will be available in individual configurations and also really might be templates the way they're shaped you can see there is huge amounts of downforce here from the gurney flap up at the back double their rear wing it's very much setup for the racetrack you can see fuel filler race style fuel filler completely stripped out on the inside the bucket seat again painted actually in the green you can just about make out from the sides of the car there the louvers again for releasing the airflow over the front of the cooling that comes from a gigantic radiator mounted down there also the way the struts hold the front splitter down we'll just looking very very smart but they did a magnificent job of keeping this completely secret that we never actually saw anything off until it was completely presented to the world here especially from such a name as Brabham a nameless or being synonymous with successful Motorsports activities for many many many decades well seven decades to be completely precise the way the paint around the front works almost the lipstick around these front sections blending into the stripe that runs up the Front's instinctive lights also for the combination of typing carbon fiber paths that appear around the respective openings that you have throughout the car they said we'd talk about the configurator and that is currently loaded up right here so this is implemented look at the car you can see it in the specification we have right now but we have a number of different options for configurations this is fantastic and if you move the iPad around we get to see different views of the factory cool is that part of the customer specification process being able to have a look at the car there's also a headset different carbon fiber you can change the wheels as well completely wonderful thank you let's turn the clocks back 70 years to this the start of Jack Brabham motorsport endeavors the Australian speed car from 1948 literally made at home originally for someone else to drive but then he went on to driver himself with two motorcycle engines that you can see from Pollock cover has been removed and also a tractor steering wheel but this was the start of great things that we can see as we continue to explore around the hall so here we have the BT three their first Formula One car they went on to compete in Formula One for 13 years winning the 35 races along the way but this car distinctly in the blue and gold livery then over the other side we have the BT eleven BT 19 these were the cars that went on to be incredibly successful and win the world that is the engine 5.4 liter v8 naturally aspirated mated to a 6-speed sequential manual of course this is a race car it is full the track so that is somewhere inside the halter or is the beastie part of this that we can just take another little look around here as it gets slightly less busy what a wild and dramatic car you know what they've achieved here is introducing something that doesn't look like an existing car on the market the design is coherent from front to rear which is quite an intriguing element and how they've worked on that and made it but this is David problems experience the company working over the last couple of years to develop and finally introduced this we're seeing right here the things you may be interested to know about its of course being a race car it has air jacks so you can run into the pit lane pop it straight up into the air to change the tires and then get back out there and keep driving on the interior there is custom steering wheel with all your territory when you look at the numbers a thousand kilos of weight and 1,200 kilos of downforce by my reckoning means if you drove fast enough it could drive upside down which is always quite a fun statistic it looks the part it looks absolutely menacing which is clearly the objective a design that's very well integrated from rear to front and very special to have seen here as its first ever showing here inside Australia House a venue that is very significant given the anglo-australian roots and heritage of the Brabham family that have led towards the introduction of this car right here
