Powertrain
The sole powertrain offered for the Equinox is a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing horsepower at 175. The torque output depends on whether you opt for front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive models produce 184 lb feet and pair with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), while all-wheel drive models make 203 lb feet and get an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Trim Lineup
All three trims get a distinct look on the outside, specifically in the grill, wheel, and tire package, as well as mirror and badge treatments. Every version also comes with an 11-inch gauge cluster display that pairs with an 11.3-inch center screen, featuring Google built-in functionality, which can still access Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The base model has been renamed from the Equinox LS to the LT, which actually means you get more standard content. Features Comparison
I think you can get the most bang for your buck by sticking with the LT model. You still get the full-size screens inside, plus heated front seats and remote start. If you really want a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, and wireless charging, you can always add those on via the $2,200 convenience package.
