My Favorite Walmart Find: Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

I'm so excited to share with you my latest discovery at my local Walmart store. While browsing through the shelves, I stumbled upon an interesting design that caught my eye - this beautiful light pink with a black original contrast. As I picked up the item, I couldn't help but notice how much I loved it and wished I had 10 of these in my closet already! The tunic-style long black top athletic wear has that perfect balance of style and functionality, which is why I'm adding another one to my collection.

The design features a thumb hole, which I absolutely adore, as well as the high-low feature. As someone who wears leggings frequently, this particular detail makes me feel confident and put-together. The athleisure wear has an undeniable athletic quality that makes it perfect for everyday wear or even a workout session. I'm thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail and the overall design of this piece.

Before concluding my review, I'd like to take a break from talking about clothing to share some information about the book I picked up today - Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon. As a reader who's always on the lookout for new authors and series, I was drawn in by the intriguing cover art and the premise of the story. The book promises an out-of-this-world romance between Georgie Caruthers, a human woman, and Vectal Vechtel, an alien from another planet. With bonus materials and an exclusive epilogue included in this expanded edition, I'm excited to dive into this read and share my thoughts with you.

As I began reading the back cover of the book, I couldn't help but chuckle at the author's witty remarks and clever phrases. The story starts with Georgie being abducted by aliens, which isn't exactly the worst thing that could happen to her. However, things take a turn for the unexpected when she discovers that the aliens are having ship trouble and have left their cargo of human women, including herself, on an ice planet.

With the help of the big blue-horned alien named Bechtel, Georgie finds himself introduced in a rather startling way to her new reality. As the "unofficial leader," Georgie is tasked with finding help for their people, which leads to some unexpected developments. The author's writing style is engaging and easy to follow, making me eager to continue reading.

Before I wrap up this article, I'd like to mention that I've discovered more books by Ruby Dixon in the Walmart store - four other titles, actually! Although I didn't have a chance to read them yet, I'm intrigued by the covers and the premise of each book. As an author who's always looking for new recommendations, I'll be keeping an eye out for these additional titles.

it's almost this or almost this month or it's almost this holiday but for some reason I still think it's July and I really don't think it has to do with the weather because it's actually kind of chilly today I just took looking for a walk and I was wearing a sweater and I shorts but like I still felt really chilly so I don't think it's the weather just because I'm in Florida but for some reason I'm still in summer in my head so let's just dive in and I'll show you guys what I picked up I had no plans really I didn't have like anything specifically on my list I just wanted to go in and see what called me what ended up in my car so I had to check out the Walmart window clings if you watch my Dollar Tree hauls then you know I love these I love them for doing all kinds of crafts in the very beginning when I first hauled window clings um like on YouTube I would use them for um my Advent calendar bags and also my planners and I still love them for planners and even more so for Junk journaling so these are actually 98 cents and this one's really cool because it's like all black so I thought it was really interesting I love the snowflakes so cheaper than Dollar Tree um this one also 98 cents and it very much is comparable to the same kind of like prints that we're getting from Dollar Tree so um so Walmart's winning on this one simply because it's cheaper but I will say in the end I prefer the prints from Dollar Tree now this one right here was not adult a 98 cents this one was I think 1.98 because it's like a licensed um print so it's the Grinch so yeah so I thought this one was really cute love it a bunch of little like pieces for me I treat them like stickers obviously marketed as window clings um all you need is a little bit of glue stick to turn them into a sticker format love this one it's giving vintage here on my channel I love vintage things um and I just the last couple years has just really been a thing for me and I love the color of this little truck I don't normally like a color like this for Christmas time so I'm more traditional but super cute this one is 98 cents it's not licensed so so there's that all right now I'm gonna pull from this bag right here and I was so excited when I randomly found this adorable little gingerbread ornament this was two dollars and 48 cents which stay tuned because I want to talk about something interesting that I just learned about Walmart that blew me away and I completely forgot to do it myself I'll explain in a second you'll understand what I mean um but anyways I only found this one little ornament and what I love about this is this is kind of what I'm going for this year I really want to focus on brown white and red I have to go to another Walmart and see if there's more like is there a little boy option of this you know boy gingerbread like I don't know so I'm gonna have to go see what I find I just if there were more of the girls like I would have picked it up this one was just kind of laying randomly in a bin um then I also found these cute little like I don't think it's like blown glass but it's like a plastic version of those glass-like ornaments and so cute these were 98 cents and as you can see there's color here so um there's the red and the white for sure but he's got some sprinkles on the edges so there's that and even then I just thought to myself you know what one day I might go back I'll probably flip back and forth I do like to do different styles every year so and especially since I share you know decorating on YouTube I also like to do different things for you guys um here is this one with the blue they also they had a bunch of like blue and white options and then the red and white options so I just thought it was so unique I wanted to go ahead and get it this year but I did kind of Envision these in a tear tray so that's why I got it and then I found the little train also 98 cents like how is this 98 cents if this was sitting at Dollar Tree like the Stampede that would happen for people to get there and grab these would be unreal these would be sold out in in seconds so they also have like a giant version of the gingerbread I don't know why I didn't get him um I think it was just because at the moment I was like do I really need these they're not the color palette that I'm going for but in the end I just thought I would probably regret it if I didn't snatch these up all right so here is what I kind of I saw this video on Tick Tock about Walmart where a lady was putting stuff in her cart she was I think she said something about how she checked the price online and she went into the store and it was the same exact price um that was online so like the little you know sticker label on the Shelf matched what was online but when she went to check out it was a completely different amount it was higher so she had to tell the lady she's like hey like this isn't the price whatever she showed her the online price and then she said that the sticker or whatever in the Shelf was the same price and so the the cashier adjusted it for her but it happened like five or six more times on other items and she basically alluded to the fact that she thought there was kind of like this scam going on because you kind of get to check out and you forget you know like what the prices say on the Shelf um so you're not really thinking or questioning unless like you went in for one thing and like you just zeroed in you remembered kind of thing but it kind of made me wonder like if that happened to any of my items I didn't remember all the prices I mean I could look at this receipt all day long but it's not going to help if I don't remember what the Shelf tag said versus this now in an instance like this where you know the tag like the price is on the tag so I can essentially go back to my receipt and see did it actually ring up as 98 cents so I don't know has anyone had something like that happened to you at Walmart so I don't know she just this video this woman I don't remember who it was but she felt pretty confident that it just seemed like this scam packing tape this is just something that I just need you know I just ran out of my own and sometimes when I do Returns on Amazon I have to use the shipping boxes so I just need this to like close up boxes um okay then I picked up these really cute little red bows and they have like a little pearl center to them I think these are fantastic I got them to put into my Christmas mystery kit so if you're ordering my Christmas junk Journal mystery kits um you might get one of these they are so cute and I'm definitely gonna keep some for me as well because I'm gonna be starting my Christmas junk Journal soon um then I picked up this ribbon which if I had not have gone to Tuesday morning and saw those napkins if you watch all my videos you know what I'm talking about but the napkins really like took me here they took me to this ribbon right here which is so cute it was 268. and it just has like they're just not colors I would personally grab for Christmas but now I'm grabbing for them and they're just giving me very much retro vintage Vibes so I'm I'm very excited to journal with with that ribbon I did find it in the Christmas section FYI um all right then I picked up these little miniature bags I just have a thing for Christmas bags and you should see my collection it's unreal um the heaviest container boxes in my entire house or the ones with my gift bags because yeah 1.98 for these and I actually got these for like gift giving they're super cute I always like get Micah some type of like little personalized jewelry for Christmas so from like Etsy and usually like the little box they send the jewelry in fits in these little bags they're super cute plus you could also style these in a tear tray like a little miniature gift bag um you know you could put like Curly ribbons on it that would be really cute and I'm also Gonna Save one there's three in here I'm Gonna Save one for my junk Journal so stay tuned because I will be junk journaling all Christmas things soon tomorrow I'm gonna be junk journaling live Halloween so come in actually as a matter of fact I grabbed this um went to the Halloween section 98 cents this looks just like yeah it's just a pumpkin Garland and I thought it was really cute love the size so I'm gonna journal with this so you'll see that tomorrow um then I picked up another little bag I just applied spoke to me I love the color combinations of this it's giving me Ralph Lauren like if Ralph Lauren made a Christmas bag this would be it this was a dollar 48 um I don't know I feel like this is I feel like this is a 98 Cent bag but okay a dollar 48 um and I'm actually going to junk journal with this too so it's like just the right size so I got that and then I discovered these um mini composition notebooks at Walmart which I really only thought ever existed at Dollar Tree and then I found out that they also are at um Dollar General and now I have found them at Walmart they're so cute these don't have anything on the front but they have that classic composition notebook style the colors are really cute and yeah I can't wait to actually like micro junk Journal that's gonna be so fun I'm definitely gonna do that after the New Year um also I have junk journals too if linked down below if you want to go check out my Christmas ones um okay then I found these really cute Christmas tags I just really like Santa on here it's kind of looking a little bit vintage just like that traditional look it was a dollar 48 for eight tags so there's that then I found these um which are so darling I don't even remember them from last year but look at these little coffee tags I again I'm gonna point to junk journaling these are gonna be so cute for that also obviously great as Christmas tags um especially if you want to maybe like do certain themes or if you're going to be like giving a gift to a co-worker or your boss or somebody and the gift itself is like coffee themed these would be really cute tags to get um so there's that one here's this one the blue snowflake just looks like a little Starbucks cup and then here's this one with a plaid which you guys know I absolutely love I'm actually still contemplating when I'm gonna release plaid week let me know your preference do you want to see plaid week in November or December and if in December do you want it closer to Christmas or I don't know let me know what you guys kind of want to see there then I also found this this is a gift card holder but it's so cute you only get one in here for the price and I did get this one specifically for my jump journal 2.48 for that and probably one of my favorite things that I've gotten in this whole haul are these little nutcrackers once again before Tuesday morning if I would have walked into Walmart I would have never glanced at these it was really like the damn napkins I don't know if they did to me I really don't but they just changed my whole perspective and I thought that these little nutcrackers like they are just all one solid color and I thought for sure I wanted them for my Christmas junk journal and I'm gonna add them as like charms maybe not all of them but I'm definitely gonna grab for the pink I think I'm gonna grab for the pink the red and then this color right here and then maybe these I'll do something else that I don't really know but so there's that and then I found a little necklace I love going into the jewelry section and I thought this looked really pretty I love the little bar it says M all of my M's by the way are not for Marie they are for Micah so there's that super cute love the double layered all right so I got that and then in this bag here I picked up my usual things that I also love again for Junk journaling um these little envelopes they're great to just create all kinds of pockets things so I like those then I picked up the receipt book I love the receipt book because they're also a really fun just like little retro thing to use in junk journaling you can stamp them you can do you can write like your journal entry in them you can age them by inking them you know all kinds of like fun little things so I'm honestly surprised they stuff like this still kind of like exists I'm sure obviously probably for like just small businesses or maybe for like fairs or schools stuff like I really don't know but love those things and then I picked up this one this one's new I've never used this one to journal with before this one is just like an invoice thing and what I really liked about this one is that you get two carbon copies so you get the original the white here's what it looks like but then you also get the yellow sheet and then you get the pink sheet okay then I'm very excited because I have two new composition notebooks even though I do create my own I'm so obsessed with them like anytime I find them anywhere I have to like collect them in a way they're just my favorite journals hands down like they don't even have like I love that it's not spiral bound um so I found this one I thought it was really pretty it has glitter in the front and as you can see there's not that traditional composition notebook label I do love the label I put that that look on all of my composition notebooks that I make for you guys on Amazon but I do like how the inside is this color that's really cool but this one blew me away I'm so excited for this one if you are a conversation notebook junkie like I am you're probably going to love this one didn't even know this existed um but this one is a graph it's like graph paper so when you open it you get the little boxes which I thought was really cool because in a way it kind of gives me like that bullet journaling style I mean bullet journaling is like bullets um these are boxes but I thought it was so cool and unique so I definitely had to get it and it's gray The Binding is gray which is really interesting um but I've got to do something special with this book I don't know what I'm gonna do I feel like I have maybe an idea I think I have an idea so stay tuned for that um I'm gonna be sharing that on my Vlog Channel though not here all right then I found some Little Golden Books I'm so excited some Christmas ones I love these These are also great to journal with while you're on YouTube Type in the search bar Little Golden Book junk journals actually I had a little Golden Book junk Journal kit so if you got one of those I hope you love it um but and they will be coming back by the way next year so there's that but these Little Golden Books are so cute as you can see this one is a brand new production print so like it has not been circulated it doesn't have that vintage look um and but the illustrations are just beautiful for journaling so I found this one and then I picked up Frosty the Snowman super cute and Walmart actually had a bunch of other options as well I didn't get them I just was only interested in these but here is so there's that I'm gonna save this for last hang on let me show you guys I also picked up wrapping paper but I'm gonna be doing like a gingerbread wrapping theme I think and I wanted my wrapping paper to be very rustic because my bows are going to be very colorful one of them being pink I don't know what's been happening with me with pink lately but here we are and because I looked at this one in black they have it in Black they have it in a bunch of other colors but as soon as I saw the pink one I just thought it was too cute to pass up on this is a brand called love in sports I feel like it's relatively new to Walmart and it's just got a really interesting design and um I love the contrast of like this beautiful light pink with the black original but when I tell you these are my favorite I will I wish I had 10 of these in my closet I probably have three right now um so I'm not mad that I'm adding another one but it's just like a tunic style long black top athletic though so it does have that athletic quality which I really like you even have the thumb hole there so love okay and then I grabbed this one and I read the back and I was like no I I have to take this home I feel like maybe I discovered something here I don't know if I did I'm going to read this and report back to you um and let you know but I've never been more excited to read a book right now so I I'm hoping it's not cheesy I'm hoping I'm not going to want to poke out my eyeballs um reading this because I am going to read it beginning to end and let you guys know so if you don't know my book reviews are back but they're over on my Vlog Channel and they happen on Fridays so this Friday is going to be a different book review but I'm gonna slot this one in for next Friday so if I'm looking at the calendar here it would be November 4th so November 4th come back to my Vlog Channel and this specifically for my jump journal 2.48 for that and probably one of my favorite things that I've gotten in this whole haul are these little nutcrackers once again before Tuesday morning if I would have walked into Walmart I would have never glanced at these it was really like the damn napkins I don't know if they did to me I really don't but they just changed my whole perspective and I thought that these little nutcrackers like they are just all one solid color and I thought for sure I wanted them for my Christmas junk journal and I'm gonna add them as like charms maybe not all of them but I'm definitely gonna grab for the pink I think I'm gonna grab for the pink the red and then this color right here and then maybe these I'll do something else that I don't really know but so there's that and then I found a little necklace I love going into the jewelry section and I thought this looked really pretty I love the little bar it says M all of my M's by the way are not for Marie they are for Micah so there's that super cute love the double layered all right so I got that and then in this bag here I picked up my usual things that I also love again for Junk journaling um these little envelopes they're great to just create all kinds of pockets things so I like those then I picked up the receipt book I love the receipt book because they're also a really fun just like little retro thing to use in junk journaling you can stamp them you can do you can write like your journal entry in them you can age them by inking them you know all kinds of like fun little things so I'm honestly surprised they stuff like this still kind of like exists I'm sure obviously probably for like just small businesses or maybe for like fairs or schools stuff like I really don't know but love those things and then I picked up this one this one's new I've never used this one to journal with before this one is just like an invoice thing and what I really liked about this one is that you get two carbon copies so you get the original the white here's what it looks like but then you also get the yellow sheet and then you get the pink sheet okay then I'm very excited because I have two new composition notebooks even though I do create my own I'm so obsessed with them like anytime I find them anywhere I have to like collect them in a way they're just my favorite journals hands down like they don't even have like I love that it's not spiral bound um so I found this one I thought it was really pretty it has glitter in the front and as you can see there's not that traditional composition notebook label I do love the label I put that that look on all of my composition notebooks that I make for you guys on Amazon but I do like how the inside is this color that's really cool but this one blew me away I'm so excited for this one if you are a conversation notebook junkie like I am you're probably going to love this one didn't even know this existed um but this one is a graph it's like graph paper so when you open it you get the little boxes which I thought was really cool because in a way it kind of gives me like that bullet journaling style I mean bullet journaling is like bullets um these are boxes but I thought it was so cool and unique so I definitely had to get it and it's gray The Binding is gray which is really interesting um but I've got to do something special with this book I don't know what I'm gonna do I feel like I have maybe an idea I think I have an idea so stay tuned for that um I'm gonna be sharing that on my Vlog Channel though not here all right then I found some Little Golden Books I'm so excited some Christmas ones I love these These are also great to journal with while you're on YouTube Type in the search bar Little Golden Book junk journals actually I had a little Golden Book junk Journal kit so if you got one of those I hope you love it um but and they will be coming back by the way next year so there's that but these Little Golden Books are so cute as you can see this one is a brand new production print so like it has not been circulated it doesn't have that vintage look um and but the illustrations are just beautiful for journaling so I found this one and then I picked up Frosty the Snowman super cute and Walmart actually had a bunch of other options as well I didn't get them I just was only interested in these but here is so there's that I'm gonna save this for last hang on let me show you guys I also picked up wrapping paper but I'm gonna be doing like a gingerbread wrapping theme I think and I wanted my wrapping paper to be very rustic because my bows are going to be very colorful one of them being pink I don't know what's been happening with me with pink lately but here we are and because I looked at this one in black they have it in Black they have it in a bunch of other colors but as soon as I saw the pink one I just thought it was too cute to pass up on this is a brand called love in sports I feel like it's relatively new to Walmart and it's just got a really interesting design and um I love the contrast of like this beautiful light pink with the black original but when I tell you these are my favorite I will I wish I had 10 of these in my closet I probably have three right now um so I'm not mad that I'm adding another one but it's just like a tunic style long black top athletic though so it does have that athletic quality which I really like you even have the thumb hole there so love that and it has that high low feature which is my favorite I don't know why but I love that especially because I wear a lot of leggings and I think it's super flattering those are my two apparel items now I'm gonna end today's video with a book but before I show you the book just know I've lost my mind why am I putting this onto the internet but here we go ice Planet barbarians and there were more Barbarian books by this author Ruby Dixon to choose from and as a matter of fact I picked up another one I forget what it was called something something barbarians and I read the back and I was like okay and then I grabbed this one and I read the back and I was like no I I have to take this home I feel like maybe I discovered something here I don't know if I did I'm going to read this and report back to you um and let you know but I've never been more excited to read a book right now so I I'm hoping it's not cheesy I'm hoping I'm not going to want to poke out my eyeballs um reading this because I am going to read it beginning to end and let you guys know so if you don't know my book reviews are back but they're over on my Vlog Channel and they happen on Fridays so this Friday is going to be a different book review but I'm gonna slot this one in for next Friday so if I'm anywhere he's an alien you're in his world this is giving I don't know like I shouldn't be here but also at this point I feel like fantasizing about another planet is probably pretty normal um okay
