"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enHonda's Factory team in the British T Car Championship has been enormously successful over the last few years and since 2010 it's had the same driver pair in Gordon shedon and Matt Neil now both guys are two of the btc's most successful drivers both triple Champions both with more race wins than they care to remember the two of you are now in your 10th year together as teammates the average marriage in the UK only lasts 11 years so you're not far off that what do you put your longevity down to you know there's no there's no re or reason for it to work you know why why should a brmm and a Scotsman get on as well as we do why you know surely we should have fallen out by now but it just works we've had a moments haven't we here about oh four years ago last Corner last lap going for a one two and I I had a bit of brain fade um we've both been brought up similar ways similar morals by parents um we both work hard 81 race wins and 10 titles the pair of you have won together with Honda what do you put all that success down to I started with uh you know Team Dynamics in 2006 Matt had just won his first championship with the with the Honda Integra my engineer started in 2006 as well Eddie and to this day you know Edd's still here you know Matt's engineer from from way back when almost when he started is still his race engineer it's a team built on family values from Team Dynamics but with the the professionalism of a of a manufacturer outfit you also know each other's strengths and weaknesses they know what make you tick they know how to normally you expect it to be a little bit better in a few areas you know and I thought that this this current version was a real good step forward Quantum Leap in performance in looks in driveability just there is no comparison between the two cars where they moved on in five years was just phenomenal and once we you know we we got some hot laps and and and good good time in the road going versions of these it's something you you can really sort of muscle around and it's going to look after you as well which has been your favorite Honda racing car from over the years I started a little bit earlier obviously in the ep3 the Tura was a bit of a soft spot for me I didn't have a very good season in it I did have a soft spot for that car cuz it was it was different and it was pretty the fk8 the the Next Generation Type R it does look just awesome and on paper for us our Engineers are doing double back flips cuz what it can give us it's um does look a very special pie do you know when that car comes for you guys hopefully in 2018 we're going to we're going to be sat here talking to you um driving those things they just they look great don't they yeah it looks like a huge step on L it's 25 years of the type R brand this year are you going to give Honda a btcc title to help them celebrate uh I hope so and I hope that we're racing with Honda to give them uh a championship in the 50th year of typ r as well it would be be a nice thought to have we going to need a little bit of Lady Luck little bit of the cards falling our way but I think we're both well up for the challenge yeah the opposition doesn't seem to get any less every year you know 32 cars on the grid in British steering cars mix up grids weight penalties reverse grids it's it's all throwing at us but um I think one thing's for sure we should be in the title fight at the end and we'll be somewhere in the mix and um as flash said bit of Lady Luck you never know now you guys have been teammates for 10 years now you know each other pretty well but we're going to find out who knows the other one the best so we've got three questions for each of you about the other one Matt where did Gordon secure his first btcc race win overall race win bton Park you pulled that one out of the Hat didn't you Gordon what year did Matt win his first overall btcc title 2005 congratulations yeah he was the reigning Champion the the big mushroom I joined in 2006 a bonus point if you know the car yeah it was the Honda Integra that's a bonus Point Matt you've had 16 btcc polls one today how many has Gordon had oh even I don't know that one I think he's more than me uh I'll give you a clue he hasn't hasn't he I've had 16 well he had 15 then he's close if he's no it's 11 oh right so he's he's not far behind he's not far behind gon you've had 49 fastest laps in btcc how how many has Matt had oh see fastest laps aren't normally Matt's 40 usually under the radar picking up the points with lots of ballast so I'll give you a clue you'll like the answer oh has he had 52 then by any chance he's had 48 and I've had 49 what was that Matt when is Gordon's birthday April 1st no it's 15th of Feb Gord Matt Sons what are the names uh bump and rebounds or uh as commonly known well in hand well there we go so at the end of the quiz Gordon you you've killed him there 31 chaps thank you very much good luck for
