Building Cheap vs Expensive Mustangs - HiLow is Back!

**The High and Low Down: A Drag Strip Showdown**

As we began our latest episode of "High Low" presented by All States, it was clear that this was going to be an exciting matchup. The two teams, one with a high-powered Mustang and the other with a low-rider Mustang, were ready to put their skills to the test on the drag strip. Our host, [Name], had been fine-tuning his launch technique and was looking to take down his opponent, Adam.

"I promise you all right, go go just power through it," our host said as he prepared for the first run of the day. "We've been breaking down some variables here, traction control on off, what RPM to kind of leave at and we've settled that leaving traction control on and kind of leaving it about just above 12000 to 1500 RPM." He explained that with small tires like 235s, they were mostly going to light off if he just floored it with no traction control. "So, we need better tires," our host said.

Adam, not one to back down from a challenge, replied, "Yeah, I definitely need to work on my launch, but you know what we got a bunch more mods coming to these cars. They're not going to be stock for long as we mod I'll get those reps in and I think I'm going to definitely get the opportunity to show them what I got." Our host smiled, confident that his own upgrades would give him an edge.

The first pair of drivers up were Zach and Mindy, with their Mustangs running on high-performance tires. "Okay, buddy, what's your predictions there?" our host asked as they prepared for their run. Smoke, the team from High Team, chimed in, saying, "I think we're going to smoke them!" Our host replied, "Yeah, I think a lot of this is seat time she's got a lot of hours behind the wheel on a drag strip so she's going to wax us." The crowd held its breath as the drivers took their marks.

The green flag waved, and Mindy, driving her Mustang from Low Team, shot off like a bullet. "She's staring me down," our host said, eyes fixed on his opponent. Our host was not intimidated, however, and replied, "I don't like that; is it a rumor or did she teach no one?" The crowd laughed as the drivers crossed the finish line.

The results were impressive: Mindy from Low Team took the win with an 8.47 at 86.03 mph, beating our host's 8.43 at 85.6 mph by just over a hundredth of a second. The cars may not have been running on slick tires, but they had come close to matching each other's performance.

As we looked at the results, it was clear that both teams had put in an impressive effort. However, our host and Adam from High Team were not about to concede defeat just yet. "We're moving on from high to low," our host said, "we've established that both these cars are pretty consistent and very comparable." The next pair of drivers up would be Zach and Mindy again, but this time with an added twist.

The crowd held its breath as the green flag waved once more. Smoke, driving her Mustang from High Team, took off like a rocket, while our host's car followed closely behind. "Justin stage," our host said, eyes fixed on his opponent. The two cars sped down the track, tires smoking and burning rubber.

As they crossed the finish line, it became clear that Mindy from Low Team had done it again, taking the win with an 8.47 at 86.03 mph once more. Our host shook her hand, saying, "Great job Mindy and I lose again big surprise." The crowd cheered as the drivers took their bows.

In conclusion, this episode of "High Low" presented by All States had been a thrilling matchup between two talented teams. While our host and Adam from High Team were determined to take down their opponents, they ultimately came up short. But with more mods on the way, it's clear that these teams will be back stronger than ever, ready to take on the next challenge.

and this is a nearly identical sixth generation Mustang GT I'm upgrading my car with cheap parts I'm going to be upgrading my Mustang with expensive parts does spending more money always lead to more performance does more expensive mean more better let's find out we bought two nearly ident iCal Ford Mustangs and we're going to upgrade them with stuff like tires suspension superchargers nitrous anything and everything we can to shave our times at the drag strip for our low Mustang we'll have a strict budget of $10,000 to spend across all modifications and for our high Mustang well we can spend whatever we want and then we'll take both Mustangs back to the drag strip to see which parts are worth spending your hard-earned money on and which mods you can get by with on the cheap who are you talking to and which mods you can get by with on the cheap yeah but before we install even one modification we need to go to the strip and put down some Bas E's that stands for a lapse times let's go boys wooo we're back baby we're back it's Hilo time that's right we're back in the saddle Mustangs baby should we get a little little chirp yeah let the old Pony prance a bit it's going to be a really fun season our most modern Hyo our most expensive Bas price car Hyo first American domestic a lot of first here a lot of first this is going to be a very exciting season this is the fourth time we're doing this fourth time around fourth time around we're in a car that I know a good amount about I love my Mustang loved it but I've only been on a drag strip twice in my life those are the two drag videos you made the true drag videos made the only time I've ever been on a drag strip so I'm excited to learn the lingo of drag racing I'm also super excited to learn just how to be a better driver uh cuz there is skill involved yeah it's not just mashing the throttle as your car gets more powerful it gets hairier to drive and you really do have to make sure that those tires aren't spinning you want them as gripped up as possible we're racing yeah this is competition you need something that is proven and has survived the test of time and the Mustang has been around doing in this exact thing since the beginning an absolute American staple yes there are a lot of factory cars from the last 20 years that could make for a great drag racing project car so why did we choose these S550 Mustangs as soon as we decided to take on drag racing a few cars came to mind you know Civics but we had just finished the EG build Supras are super sick but Out Of Reach for the average person or we could take a more classic approach with some American Muscle and there just wasn't a more obvious choice to us than the muscle thing the 5 L coyote V8 makes a respectable 435 horsepower with a ceiling of around 750 with stock internals which we intend to hit the car comes stock with drag race specific features like a line lock for burnouts and the ability to trans breake with a simple wiring harness install if you don't know what those terms mean yet you will when we address those in future episodes I love the sound of the engine from all of the low cars we've bought oh this is this is probably the best like 100% Baseline low car right now is pretty good yeah I can't wait to blast past your house at 300 a.m. with the headers and exhaust we're going to put on this thing Jerry wake up the neighbors good morning I've never really worked on a Mustang I wanted one so bad when I was a kid I think this is my favorite front end possibly ever yeah I always like these headlights a lot the GT350 of these years is maybe the best Mustang in my opinion of all time that is a good looking Mustang and they're automatic that's right and for good reason automatics are faster than drag racing yeah we're going to be able to launch these suckers real nice and real good and real repeatably that's really I think what it comes down to you know you can launch a manual car good but can you do it the same every single time probably not and we're trying to make the most amount of power possible this year these are going to be the highest horsepower cars in our garage it kind of scares me how fast we're going to be going probably dangerously fast by the end yeah and when you get into any platform you got to look into what Achilles heels those platforms have and I think from what I hear this one is the oil pump gears are known to shatter yes so we will be putting Billet oil pump gears in these ASAP so we don't have to worry about that see every car has its faults okay yeah look at The Rotary guys they accept it you know over the last three seasons of high low we've learned a lot what is the main takeaway from all of those that you want to applied to this season damn just because the Price Is Right doesn't mean the part is we are going to still take a very budget-minded uh approach to this car but we're not going to be spending the bottom of the barrel prices just because we can my objective with this card is come up with a formula that someone watching this can take and apply to their very own Mustang obviously if there's a cheap part that works then do that but what I found over the past couple seasons is that we buy these cheap parts but then we end up having to replace them again so you're better off spending just a little bit more to protect against that we have a budget of $10,000 that we can spend on this car to make it as fast as possible and that's pretty reasonable I think so dude especially when you think about how crazy you can go which is what high teams going to do especially with drag cars yeah $10,000 I think is a reasonable amount of money for someone to build a serious dedicated track car I like that we're going away from this like cheapest eBay whatever product that you can find on there and be more what is like typical in an Enthusiast or tun you would actually do this is what you're actually going to buy the Common Man build which I think is uh super fun and I'm looking forward to that some people just know they can save hundreds on car insurance by checking all state first yo what like you know to check the description first before buying a car that'd be stupid not to buy this right right yeah yeah let's do it oh sh yo Deuce what's up hey jeez look hey man it's well worth it it'll pay itself off within a year trust me yes oh it's here yeah checking first is smart so check all state first for a quote that could save you hundreds click the link below to learn more hey dude yeah about that investment the conduct our cheap vers expensive experiment we're going to be coming here to Irwindale Speedway after each and every upgrade to see how much our time improveed now in Factory form we know that the S550 Mustang GT can run a sub 13sec quarter mile which is pretty good so with some questionable math we think that they should be able to run about an 8 and 1/2 second 8th mile but one of the biggest variables in Drag Racing is the driver so we thought we'd add some variables we've got shop daddy Adam with us over on low team and Steph who you may recognize from real mechanic stuff or our employee drag race videos over here on high team our goal today is 8.5 seconds and we're not leaving here here until someone makes an 8.5 second pass or runs out of gas so let's get to racing helmet on coolant temp good Inlet air temp hot okay about time to do a burnout warm up these pretty regular tires are we clear to burnout on you guys all right here it is first drag race first drag race and we have the switch okay so we can the this up we're looking for et here we're not really paying attention to reaction time it'll be interesting to see how it goes how close this is I mean they're basically the same car so it should be basically the same right there we go here we go we go go good laun oh just burning them yeah did it seven seven already I smoked him what happened that was with the AC on by the way no traction off the line I was just skating no one took the win for sure pretty easily Nolan has experience and Zach job does not we we're we're two10 off of hitting our goal L 85 we're pretty far off we got seconds yeah we got a couple seconds to figure out we just get a count right here that shows the number of times we've won no this is practice we're learning it doesn't matter we're going to do we're going to do a toal win lost over the course of this series no we smoked a sh out of them on that one that'll probably be the last time that this car is that much faster than High car so as you can tell already we have some variables with driver skill so we have our good friend Mindy here uh Mindy is a expert drag racer so she's going to be our control when we start uh comparing ourselves and our times against what a real true Pro can do so some fun facts about Mindy she holds the record for the fastest ET ever recorded in a Top Fuel front engine dragster that record has stood I believe since 2019 she retired as champion in the AA front engine class with that car this is so cool Mindy Okay so we've done one pass is there anything that you've noticed that uh we could improve upon definitely what's that well I would say guys need to stage consistently learn how to Stage yeah what does that mean if you're new to drag racing like we are here's how it works first things first you'll start in the burnout box here you'll do a quick burnout to clean and heat up your tires then you'll pull up to the starting line get ready to race okay AC off windows up traction control on as you approach you'll see the pre-stage lights come on letting you know that you're close and then when you see the stage light come on you're in position all right Zach is staged Z is stag all right no one is staged almost almost almost man he is nervous once you and your competition is in position three Amber lights will start to illuminate in a sequence before the green lights come on signaling the start of the race while waiting for the green depending on the car you're driving you could do something called Power breaking with one foot on the brake pedal you give the car some gas so when you let off the brake you can launch with even more power which is much faster than starting from idle and no one staged here we go Z what are you doing after you successfully get off the line you have two jobs maintain traction through the whole launch and keep the car straight easy enough right let's go5 let's go two runs in baby two runs in let's goer let's go we don't got to sleep here tonight hey you didn't you didn't beat 8 5 okay once you're across the line you need to slow down and then pull over to the return Road where an official will hand you your time slip there's a lot of valuable information on there that can help you make informed decisions while tuning your car we're going to dive deeper into all these numbers in future videos as we upgrade our cars but for now the only number we're worried about is ET now let's go beat that 8.5 seconds what's up my boy what's up bro listen I still rooting for you you're a little hot off the line there yeah I've been a little too aggressive the first one just blew the tires off of it and then the second one I had traction control on and I was still too aggressive so traction control was engaged when I tried to leave the line it was just like I need to launch a little softer so traction control doesn't stop me immediately okay but yeah I mean I feel okay it's just it's going to take a handful to you know figure out how to get off the line quickest with this setup okay I love Joe but I want to see him lose you know what I'm saying I mean like I said he can't can't be good at everything he's getting humanized now the gods are falling from their pedestal okay here we go we're going to come off the line a little Chiller come on let's go oh man 1799 hey it's about ET it's about ET Zach launched a lot better that time 852 Bango bingo bango look at that here we go hi team but Nolan made it down there before him it's just wild doesn't matter we're going against ET right now cuz we're learning guess what it's our turn to get want to see you get in there we're we're about to go in there all right so it's my turn to race the new High car butterflies there's always butterflies coming up to the tree I'm going against Jeremiah too Jeremiah the world class racing driver at this point I'm going to guide you up there no I'm good I got it okay I mean I just wanted to help you know some team building you know um but whatever it's fine we told you why we bought Mustangs but not why we wanted to go drag racing in the first place ultimately the real reason we're drag racing is because of Nolan the first car Nolan ever drove was a junior dragster when he was just 10 years old and ever since he started working at donut he's always been trying to get us out to the strip and we're finally here they sound good we've done some drag racing stuff in the past but what I want to do with these cars is basically turn everyone here at donut and all of you watching into drag racing Fanatics and inspire you to visit your local track if you haven't already it seems like there are less and less drag strips every year and I hope we can help just a little bit to reverse that Trend 8568 all right on the C let's go let's go 85 mph for low car that good for his first pass that's really good yeah baby yeah baby that was traction control on and then holding it at maybe like 1,000 RPM nothing crazy also turned the air off so got a couple extra ponies with the air off another dub for freaking oty baby I put it in sport mode I was going to shift on my own and it ended up shifting for me into third and skipping second for me so that really messed up my time and I watched jar literally pull away from me besides that Mis shift though I think we're golden team is Domin yeah you think you guys should uh swap Lanes to make sure that one lane doesn't have better performance over the other I want to see that too yeah maybe we should there might be a difference in these Lanes you know grip wise whatever so now we switch them to make sure that that variable is covered let's see what happens I'm going to be 85 I believe in you my first time driving this I believe in you so much all right are we good to Stage yeah I'm ready all right buddy hey good luck a red light Justin oh what happened now it doesn't want to shift so I'm just going to put this back in drive mode I'm not going to touch these damn pedals another win for the low team I've never been so pumped to win an 8-second race in my life on that one Justin redlighted it means he was you know trying to get the launch on Jerry and he went a little too far A little too hard a little too aggressive so he's going to have to knock that back a little bit but we're getting there the blue car the low car ran 85s in in this Lane 85s in that lane so I don't think that the lanes are a factor no I don't think I would agree okay we're staged there they go nice that's pretty good ni oh good reaction time from Jerry not a bad reaction time from Justin this might be it 84 wow there it is yeah Little D your boy keep going yeah well hey we broke 8.5 that's great good low team's allowed to go home now I'm a little upset that J's the one that hit 84 cuz that's going to go straight I'm I'm you and everybody else brother shocked if he gets his helmet off now should we just lie to him yes okay jar not bad 87 87 8 8.7 so we we're still trying okay yeah yeah why you got you're lying okay I can't you did the 84 something go beautiful son of a that's what drag racing is all about self-improvement uh and being humble and uh just trying to I mean obviously these cars are very similar so this all comes down to the drivers and most of us are pretty new at this so it's going to be a lot of fun getting better at it and by the end of this I will be better than Jerry I I will be better than Jerry dang it well your go Dam and look we got a little weight reduction you're like 200 lb lighter than me hopefully what do you weigh the general rule of thumb and horsepower cars is that every 100 lb is a tenth of a second yeah which is pretty significant it is I'm feel a little nervous what's your drag race experience uh allegedly in between industrial warehouses uh at like 1:00 a.m. allegedly just leave it and drive leave traction on and when that last Amber comes on just floor it fo breake keep it at a th000 yeah and then that that last Amber floor all the way down off brake floor is this thing going to go sideways on me no it hasn't slipped on me yet I am pretty excited though I am super new to drag racing obviously when you're young and dumb you're doing it at stop lights and stuff but on an actual course this is pretty sick and it's cool to see what a brand new car can kind of do I mean these things have 400 something to the crank and they get up and go but man they are heavy this thing comes in at a curb weight of right around 3700 lb which is a lot of weight to be pushing okay they are both staged so I just flip this up huh yeah hit it let's go she's deep staged oh man damn Steph treed the out of Adam yes she did oh is this going to be high team's first win I let off too early I would have had him I let off too early oh my God that was decent for what it was that was decent I just got to get him this next one next one he's mine she deep staged oh I didn't even know that killed her time by a 10th one thing Mindy keeps pointing out to us is that we need to Stage more shallow shallow staging is when you stage with as little of your front tires past the staging beams as possible that way when you launch you actually get a couple inches of acceleration before you pass the beam to start your ET shallow staging may lead to a slow reaction on your time slip but you get a faster ET put the top light on stop stop stop and then roll forward super slow until the bottom light just comes on that's shallow stage that's where you want to be but everything else perfect just throttle through listen you are going way too late when seriously when you see the third yellow light up go really go don't wait for green you're waiting for green don't wait for green go on the third yellow got it I promise you all right go go just power through it just power through it oo she got a better reaction time she's got it she's got it she's got it 859 859 85 did I beat Adam you beat Adam yeah I said it I said this one was mine he's going to be so mad hey good run buddy we've been breaking down some variables here traction control on off what RPM to kind of leave at and we've settled that leaving traction control on and kind of leaving it about just above Idol 1 12200 to 1500 RPM and just matting it to the ground and letting the computer do all the work on it these are small tires are 235s and they're mostly just going to light off if we just floor it with no traction control so we need better tires H let's go Adam yes adames it 87 okay yeah yo low team let's go so yeah I definitely need to work on my launch but you know what we got a bunch more mods coming to these cars they're not going to be stock for long as we mod I'll get those reps in and I think I'm going to definitely get the opportunity to show them what I got I got to show them my big guns all right so we're moving on from high vers low we've established that both these cars are pretty consistent and very comparable no weird discrepancies or anything like that so now we're going to see who can beat our Pro first up is Zach job in the High car versus Mindy in the low car okay let's have a clean race all right buddy what's your predictions there smoke us yeah I think smoke our ass I think a lot of this is seat time she's got a lot of hours behind the wheel on a drag strip so she's going to she's going to wax us I think yeah dude full Brazilian coming our way oh joy had a got it M's got it she's got it how did she do that she's got it oh my God best ET of the day too that oh my God out the gate first pass damn let's go yeah she's a badass she's staring me down she's looking over oh I don't like that is it a rumor or did she teach no one I think that she was involved in Nolan's uh drag racing really I think that's how they is vers the student yes okay I was doing a burn out all the way down the track what a privilege to get the race Mindy Fry at the strip dude let's see if Jerry who has the best time of the donut employees can best meny there they go come on ter come on ter wow got's got it 847 she's managing the power really well and getting across the line the fastest every time yeah Justin stage okay spinning tires Justin spinning the tires oh my God dude that was like doing a burnout almost to the 330t marker yeah go I'm just now figuring out this damn car there we go okay I think M's got it yep yep 851 Dam a i red L A really badly too now joob joob wait late Mendy killed him on the tree and's got it it's the best ET that we've run today so great job Mindy and I lose again big surprise oh I left AC on I couldn't hear it with my helmet on all right there you have it high car's best time was an 8.43 5 at 86.02 mph and low car's best time was at 8.45 9 at 85.6 3 mph 41 hundreds of a second difference now I know what you guys are thinking yeah the cars would have been faster if they weren't on allseason tires but that's what we're going to do on the next episode so make sure you subscribe to the channel so you don't miss the next episode of high low presented by all states see you guys next time bye next time on high low presented by allate we upgrade our Mustangs with new tires look how light these things are wow that's cool I thought you were strong well it's that too shop daddy Adam turns his back on low team dude just let me be on high team for once no C for you you helmet on coolant temp good Inlet air temp hot okay about time to do a burnout warm up these pretty regular tires are we clear to burnout on you guys all right here it is first drag race first drag race and we have the switch okay so we can the this up we're looking for et here we're not really paying attention to reaction time it'll be interesting to see how it goes how close this is I mean they're basically the same car so it should be basically the same right there we go here we go we go go good laun oh just burning them yeah did it seven seven already I smoked him what happened that was with the AC on by the way no traction off the line I was just skating no one took the win for sure pretty easily Nolan has experience and Zach job does not we we're we're two10 off of hitting our goal L 85 we're pretty far off we got seconds yeah we got a couple seconds to figure out we just get a count right here that shows the number of times we've won no this is practice we're learning it doesn't matter we're going to do we're going to do a toal win lost over the course of this series no we smoked a sh out of them on that one that'll probably be the last time that this car is that much faster than High car so as you can tell already we have some variables with driver skill so we have our good friend Mindy here uh Mindy is a expert drag racer so she's going to be our control when we start uh comparing ourselves and our times against what a real true Pro can do so some fun facts about Mindy she holds the record for the fastest ET ever recorded in a Top Fuel front engine dragster that record has stood I believe since 2019 she retired as champion in the AA front engine class with that car this is so cool Mindy Okay so we've done one pass is there anything that you've noticed that uh we could improve upon definitely what's that well I would say guys need to stage consistently learn how to Stage yeah what does that mean if you're new to drag racing like we are here's how it works first things first you'll start in the burnout box here you'll do a quick burnout to clean and heat up your tires then you'll pull up to the starting line get ready to race okay AC off windows up traction control on as you approach you'll see the pre-stage lights come on letting you know that you're close and then when you see the stage light come on you're in position all right Zach is staged Z is stag all right no one is staged almost almost almost man he is nervous once you and your competition is in position three Amber lights will start to illuminate in a sequence before the green lights come on signaling the start of the race while waiting for the green depending on the car you're driving you could do something called Power breaking with one foot on the brake pedal you give the car some gas so when you let off the brake you can launch with even more power which is much faster than starting from idle and no one staged here we go Z what are you doing after you successfully get off the line you have two jobs maintain traction through the whole launch and keep the car straight easy enough right let's go5 let's go two runs in baby two runs in let's goer let's go we don't got to sleep here tonight hey you didn't you didn't beat 8 5 okay once you're across the line you need to slow down and then pull over to the return Road where an official will hand you your time slip there's a lot of valuable information on there that can help you make informed decisions while tuning your car we're going to dive deeper into all these numbers in future videos as we upgrade our cars but for now the only number we're worried about is ET now let's go beat that 8.5 seconds what's up my boy what's up bro listen I still rooting for you you're a little hot off the line there yeah I've been a little too aggressive the first one just blew the tires off of it and then the second one I had traction control on and I was still too aggressive so traction control was engaged when I tried to leave the line it was just like I need to launch a little softer so traction control doesn't stop me immediately okay but yeah I mean I feel okay it's just it's going to take a handful to you know figure out how to get off the line quickest with this setup okay I love Joe but I want to see him lose you know what I'm saying I mean like I said he can't can't be good at everything he's getting humanized now the gods are falling from their pedestal okay here we go we're going to come off the line a little Chiller come on let's go oh man 1799 hey it's about ET it's about ET Zach launched a lot better that time 852 Bango bingo bango look at that here we go hi team but Nolan made it down there before him it's just wild doesn't matter we're going against ET right now cuz we're learning guess what it's our turn to get want to see you get in there we're we're about to go in there all right so it's my turn to race the new High car butterflies there's always butterflies coming up to the tree I'm going against Jeremiah too Jeremiah the world class racing driver at this point I'm going to guide you up there no I'm good I got it okay I mean I just wanted to help you know some team building you know um but whatever it's fine we told you why we bought Mustangs but not why we wanted to go drag racing in the first place ultimately the real reason we're drag racing is because of Nolan the first car Nolan ever drove was a junior dragster when he was just 10 years old and ever since he started working at donut he's always been trying to get us out to the strip and we're finally here they sound good we've done some drag racing stuff in the past but what I want to do with these cars is basically turn everyone here at donut and all of you watching into drag racing Fanatics and inspire you to visit your local track if you haven't already it seems like there are less and less drag strips every year and I hope we can help just a little bit to reverse that Trend 8568 all right on the C let's go let's go 85 mph for low car that good for his first pass that's really good yeah baby yeah baby that was traction control on and then holding it at maybe like 1,000 RPM nothing crazy also turned the air off so got a couple extra ponies with the air off another dub for freaking oty baby I put it in sport mode I was going to shift on my own and it ended up shifting for me into third and skipping second for me so that really messed up my time and I watched jar literally pull away from me besides that Mis shift though I think we're golden team is Domin yeah you think you guys should uh swap Lanes to make sure that one lane doesn't have better performance over the other I want to see that too yeah maybe we should there might be a difference in these Lanes you know grip wise whatever so now we switch them to make sure that that variable is covered let's see what happens I'm going to be 85 I believe in you my first time driving this I believe in you so much all right are we good to Stage yeah I'm ready all right buddy hey good luck a red light Justin oh what happened now it doesn't want to shift so I'm just going to put this back in drive mode I'm not going to touch these damn pedals another win for the low team I've never been so pumped to win an 8-second race in my life on that one Justin redlighted it means he was you know trying to get the launch on Jerry and he went a little too far A little too hard a little too aggressive so he's going to have to knock that back a little bit but we're getting there the blue car the low car ran 85s in in this Lane 85s in that lane so I don't think that the lanes are a factor no I don't think I would agree okay we're staged there they go nice that's pretty good ni oh good reaction time from Jerry not a bad reaction time from Justin this might be it 84 wow there it is yeah Little D your boy keep going yeah well hey we broke 8.5 that's great good low team's allowed to go home now I'm a little upset that J's the one that hit 84 cuz that's going to go straight I'm I'm you and everybody else brother shocked if he gets his helmet off now should we just lie to him yes okay jar not bad 87 87 8 8.7 so we we're still trying okay yeah yeah why you got you're lying okay I can't you did the 84 something go beautiful son of a that's what drag racing is all about self-improvement uh and being humble and uh just trying to I mean obviously these cars are very similar so this all comes down to the drivers and most of us are pretty new at this so it's going to be a lot of fun getting better at it and by the end of this I will be better than Jerry I I will be better than Jerry dang it well your go Dam and look we got a little weight reduction you're like 200 lb lighter than me hopefully what do you weigh the general rule of thumb and horsepower cars is that every 100 lb is a tenth of a second yeah which is pretty significant it is I'm feel a little nervous what's your drag race experience uh allegedly in between industrial warehouses uh at like 1:00 a.m. allegedly just leave it and drive leave traction on and when that last Amber comes on just floor it fo breake keep it at a th000 yeah and then that that last Amber floor all the way down off brake floor is this thing going to go sideways on me no it hasn't slipped on me yet I am pretty excited though I am super new to drag racing obviously when you're young and dumb you're doing it at stop lights and stuff but on an actual course this is pretty sick and it's cool to see what a brand new car can kind of do I mean these things have 400 something to the crank and they get up and go but man they are heavy this thing comes in at a curb weight of right around 3700 lb which is a lot of weight to be pushing okay they are both staged so I just flip this up huh yeah hit it let's go she's deep staged oh man damn Steph treed the out of Adam yes she did oh is this going to be high team's first win I let off too early I would have had him I let off too early oh my God that was decent for what it was that was decent I just got to get him this next one next one he's mine she deep staged oh I didn't even know that killed her time by a 10th one thing Mindy keeps pointing out to us is that we need to Stage more shallow shallow staging is when you stage with as little of your front tires past the staging beams as possible that way when you launch you actually get a couple inches of acceleration before you pass the beam to start your ET shallow staging may lead to a slow reaction on your time slip but you get a faster ET put the top light on stop stop stop and then roll forward super slow until the bottom light just comes on that's shallow stage that's where you want to be but everything else perfect just throttle through listen you are going way too late when seriously when you see the third yellow light up go really go don't wait for green you're waiting for green don't wait for green go on the third yellow got it I promise you all right go go just power through it just power through it oo she got a better reaction time she's got it she's got it she's got it 859 859 85 did I beat Adam you beat Adam yeah I said it I said this one was mine he's going to be so mad hey good run buddy we've been breaking down some variables here traction control on off what RPM to kind of leave at and we've settled that leaving traction control on and kind of leaving it about just above Idol 1 12200 to 1500 RPM and just matting it to the ground and letting the computer do all the work on it these are small tires are 235s and they're mostly just going to light off if we just floor it with no traction control so we need better tires H let's go Adam yes adames it 87 okay yeah yo low team let's go so yeah I definitely need to work on my launch but you know what we got a bunch more mods coming to these cars they're not going to be stock for long as we mod I'll get those reps in and I think I'm going to definitely get the opportunity to show them what I got I got to show them my big guns all right so we're moving on from high vers low we've established that both these cars are pretty consistent and very comparable no weird discrepancies or anything like that so now we're going to see who can beat our Pro first up is Zach job in the High car versus Mindy in the low car okay let's have a clean race all right buddy what's your predictions there smoke us yeah I think smoke our ass I think a lot of this is seat time she's got a lot of hours behind the wheel on a drag strip so she's going to she's going to wax us I think yeah dude full Brazilian coming our way oh joy had a got it M's got it she's got it how did she do that she's got it oh my God best ET of the day too that oh my God out the gate first pass damn let's go yeah she's a badass she's staring me down she's looking over oh I don't like that is it a rumor or did she teach no one I think that she was involved in Nolan's uh drag racing really I think that's how they is vers the student yes okay I was doing a burn out all the way down the track what a privilege to get the race Mindy Fry at the strip dude let's see if Jerry who has the best time of the donut employees can best meny there they go come on ter come on ter wow got's got it 847 she's managing the power really well and getting across the line the fastest every time yeah Justin stage okay spinning tires Justin spinning the tires oh my God dude that was like doing a burnout almost to the 330t marker yeah go I'm just now figuring out this damn car there we go okay I think M's got it yep yep 851 Dam a i red L A really badly too now joob joob wait late Mendy killed him on the tree and's got it it's the best ET that we've run today so great job Mindy and I lose again big surprise oh I left AC on I couldn't hear it with my helmet on all right there you have it high car's best time was an 8.43 5 at 86.02 mph and low car's best time was at 8.45 9 at 85.6 3 mph 41 hundreds of a second difference now I know what you guys are thinking yeah the cars would have been faster if they weren't on allseason tires but that's what we're going to do on the next episode so make sure you subscribe to the channel so you don't miss the next episode of high low presented by all states see you guys next time bye next time on high low presented by allate we upgrade our Mustangs with new tires look how light these things are wow that's cool I thought you were strong well it's that too shop daddy Adam turns his back on low team dude just let me be on high team for once no C for you you let's go no and Zach's dirty secret is revealed Zach's ball
