Samsung Galaxy A8+ FAQ and My Thoughts - Value for Money

**A Mid-Range Samsung Smartphone: The Galaxy A8+**

For those who are looking for a premium-looking Samsung smartphone without breaking the bank, the Galaxy A8+ is an option worth considering. However, it's essential to note that this is not a flagship smartphone from Samsung, but rather a mid-range device that offers some impressive features at a lower price point.

**Design and Build Quality**

One of the first things that caught my attention about this device was its design and build quality. From a distance, it looks like a Note 8, which I'm sure many Samsung fans would be excited to see. The phone's body is made of metal, giving it a premium feel, and it also features Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, which provides excellent scratch resistance. The device weighs around 187 grams, making it comfortable to hold and use.

**Display**

The Galaxy A8+ features a Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2244 pixels). While this may not be as impressive as some of the flagship smartphones from Samsung, it still offers great visuals and is plenty vibrant. The viewing angles are also excellent, making it easy to share videos or photos with friends without them looking distorted. However, I was disappointed that this device does not feature a quad HD display like some of its higher-end counterparts.

**Camera Performance**

One area where the Galaxy A8+ falls short is in its camera performance, particularly on the rear-facing camera side. While it has two cameras set up for front-facing photography, which works well in outdoor lighting conditions and artificial lighting settings, I found that it can struggle to produce great results. The lack of optical image stabilization and 4K video recording is also a notable omission. Additionally, while the front-facing camera is excellent in bright lighting, it can be a bit hit-or-miss in indoor or low-light environments.

**Speaker Performance**

I was pleased with the speaker performance on this device, which is located at the top of the phone. The audio quality is decent, and I found that it's loud enough to watch videos without having to turn up the volume too high. However, I do think that a dual-speaker setup would be more effective in delivering better sound quality.

**Software and Features**

The Galaxy A8+ runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (upgradable to Android 9.0 Pie), which is a bit behind some of Samsung's other flagships. Nevertheless, the software is generally smooth and responsive, and I appreciated the addition of a face unlocking feature that combines both the front-facing camera and fingerprint scanner.

**Selfie-Centric Design**

One notable aspect of this device is its focus on selfie photography. The dual front-facing cameras are designed to provide a wide-angle view, but they don't quite live up to my expectations. I found that using both cameras at once can be a bit gimmicky, and it's not as effective in delivering a wider field of view. Overall, I think Samsung could have done more to make this device more selfie-friendly.

**Verdict**

Overall, the Galaxy A8+ is a solid mid-range smartphone from Samsung that offers some impressive features at a lower price point. While it may not be as premium-looking or feature-rich as some of its higher-end counterparts, it's still a great option for those who want a stylish and functional phone without breaking the bank. However, I do think that Samsung could have done more to address areas such as camera performance and software updates.

**Target Audience**

The Galaxy A8+ is likely to appeal to individuals who are looking for a premium-looking Samsung smartphone but don't need all the bells and whistles of a flagship device. This might include those who want a stylish phone that can keep up with their busy lifestyle, but also doesn't have to worry about the latest software updates or high-end camera performance.

**Pricing**

The Galaxy A8+ is priced competitively with other mid-range smartphones on the market, making it an attractive option for those looking for a reliable device without the hefty price tag of a flagship phone. However, I do think that Samsung's premium branding might come at a cost, as some users may be willing to pay more for the added features and prestige of owning a high-end smartphone.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, the Galaxy A8+ is a solid mid-range smartphone from Samsung that offers a range of impressive features at a lower price point. While it may not be perfect – particularly when it comes to camera performance – it's still a great option for those looking for a stylish and functional phone without breaking the bank.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys this is Ranjit Anand this video I'll be answering the frequently asked questions and my thoughts about the samsung galaxy a8 plus and I have been testing this device for the last two days and I've know not a lot of points about it but before that let me also answer some of the common questions that I was getting regarding this device so let's go over them first and these are my initial thoughts about the device after using it for about two days so let's go overhead and this is by Samara he is asking does it have a physical LED notification light yes this phone does have a physical entity notification light over here and as you can see it also has that always-on display so that works actually in terms of looks it looks very similar to the note 8 and the build quality is good again I have already posted the unboxing video of this device so you can also check out that for more and for and regarding the pricing in India this device is sold via Amazon India for rupees 33 thousand so let's move to the next one and this is by mr. Bhargav he's asking which stabilization is there on this device optical image stabilization or electronic image stabilization part of the stabilization on this device is just electronic image stabilization it does not have any optical image stabilization and it's sort of disappointing because the rear facing camera in outdoor conditions was good back in artificial conditions like this it really struggles and many of the pictures actually come out to be little bit blurry because it does not have any optical image stabilization moving to the front-facing camera I tested dual camera setup I'll talk about that later so I would say in terms of camera department this is more of a selfie centric phone and it is surprising to see that Samson ignoring the rear facing camera let's move to the next one this espera Madani he's asking does it have 4k video support and Android only out of the box sadly it's no to both the questions it simply does not have 4k video support which is extremely disappointing considering the price point of this device this device is selling for 33,000 but Samsung has not put 4k video support on this and in terms of Android it comes with Android no get out of the box so it does not come with Android or you and as this is a mid-range Android device generally the trend that we have seen with Samsung mid-range Android phones is that they are tend to ignore them and the updates are not very quick on this so this might get Android audio update but by the time it gets updated might be very late so again no to both and I'm really saddened to see that it does not offer 4k video support because the chipset actually what it has the Exynos 78 85 can easily support 4k but it's sad to see that samsung not giving us 4k support this is by in the role he is asking according to cameras which one would be better 1 + 550 or the samsung galaxy a8 + please share your thoughts I would definitely say that I would pick the 1 + 5 t over this one in terms of camera that is specifically due to the rear-facing camera in artificial lighting conditions and indoor lighting conditions I felt that the camera performance of the 1 + 550 was better with compared to this galaxy a8 + but when we move to the front facing camera as this has a dual front-facing camera yes the front-facing camera is better on this one but again if you take a lot of pictures like a normal person with the rear facing camera then the 1 + 5 t would give you better results and it also has 4k video support and um and for the 1 + 5 t with 4k also if you walk around also it has a is so the 4k footage was actually good so my pick would be the 1 + 5 t it's more practical this is my god of his skiing Samsung said that the galaxy a8 + as the poor man's Galaxy s8 is it true does it have all the inbuilt features which are present on the s8 or the si plus no sadly at the s8 and the SI + are still more premium devices compared to this one those have a lot more features for example the si si + have optical image stabilization hence the rear facing camera is better and it has proper 4k suppose and also the screen quality on the s8 + SI + S quad HD whereas this yes it has that new screen aspect ratio 18s tonight but it's not quad HD it's a full HD Plus display so yeah you simply cannot compare with that s 8 NS 8 plus are more superior product I would certainly say that if your budget is not very tight now you can get the galaxy s7 in India for slightly lesser than this galaxy a8 plus yes the galaxy s7 does not have this new design of this a plus but in terms of practicality and overall package the galaxy s7 is a better product compared to this galaxy what do you say a plus so yea if your budget is tight still the galaxy s7 would make more sense compared to this a8 plus I hope that helps you this is by saying he is asking do you think the there'll be good company it will be a good competition with honor view 10 or the 1 + 5 t regards to every aspect sadly known this is a mid-range device I would say but it looks like the note 8 so don't mistake it to be a flagship I would say it's a good mid-range device but you are paying a premium for it but if you talk about overall package and price to performance ratio then definitely the honour view 10 and even the 1 + 5 t do offer you a lot more compared to this galaxy a8 + this is pie hockey's asking how's the build quality of the smartphone here I would give full marks to Samson the build quality is excellent on the sect feels very premium in the hand and as I mentioned earlier it looks like Note 8 if you look at from a distance and many people will mistake it for the note 8 and in terms of build quality also it is excellent it has a metallic housing all over it and it feels very nice to hold in terms of build quality it feels premium so no compromises have been done there by Samsung next one as from Parma he's asking the odd position of the fingerprint sensor is it reachable with one hand sadly no and I mentioned about this even in my unboxing video which I posted earlier as you can see the fingerprint scanner is here at the back and when you hold the phone like this your fingers simply does not rest at that position you have to adjust your grip a little bit for the fingerprint scanner so it is still no in a very good position I would say but some of you I have also asked about face unlocking it does have face a locking feature and I've enabled it as you can see this is the standby and if I press the power button it waits for a second and it can unlock with the face unlocking option obviously the face unlocking option is not as secure as fingerprint but the face unlocking works yeah the fingerprint scanner could have been slightly lower it would have been better you have to stretch your finger a little bit now moving to the next one this is by Justin he's asking the Samsung Galaxy a plus had the best camera in this price range no definitely no no no I would say you simply can't say that this one is having the best camera because the rear-facing camera performance is actually not that good in artificial and low lighting condition for example these shots I took in my office and as you can see they come a lot slightly blurry that is the problem yes an open outdoor shots you can take some good shots but when the lighting falls down as it does not have optical image stabilization I noticed you have to be extra careful otherwise the pictures come out to be blurry also with the front-facing camera outdoor perform very well and it also has that portrait more with the front-facing camera but I took some again some sample shots here in my office and as you can see they come out good but many of the shots came out blurry so I had to take them again so again in artificial lighting and low lighting conditions the phone tends to struggle up quite a bit so you have to be careful so definitely not the best camera performance in this price range this is by gaurav and also some of you are asking me about this the rear facing camera has just a single lens so the rear facing camera does not offer the portrait or that bouquet affects it so the portrait mode is only for the front facing camera and this is by gaurav once you said that Samsung doesn't provide basic sensors in their mid range phones so does this one have all the sensors yes Gaurav this one has all the sensors it has the auto brightness sense of physical LED notification light even gyroscope is present always on display so in terms of sensors Samsung did not skimp on this but again strictly this is not a mid-range in terms of pricing it is priced at 33,000 so you expect the worst things should be there but luckily those sensors they haven't on sensors with this one now this may I use your thoughts on know 4k video recording act on this a plus a trapeze 33,000 yes I'm really saddened about it as I mentioned earlier and technically the chipset what they are using the 78 85 is capable of processing 4k footage easily but I think so Sampson has intentionally not given 4k support because of the gave the 4k support they might be cannibalizing the scenes of their higher-end products that is the simple reason they didn't offer 4k support on this phone and gimping it so it is sadly i am saddened to see something still opting for such attack tests whereas the competition and this price point is offering 4k so sad to see no 4k support on this device and this is my rishi Raj he's asking and I've got a quite a few questions like this what about value for money this is a very interesting question I would say if I just talk about price to performance ratio then this smartphone is simply overpriced and not value for money because at this price point you can get far better and devices for example on a view 10 or even the 1 + 5 t that offer you a lot more but again if you are a person who really just wants a samsung phone and a phone that looks premium looks like a note 8 then you can go for it but again you are paying a high premium for the Samsung branding again guys remember this is a mid-range phone this is not a flagship smartphone now these were these are common questions that I was getting now let's move to some of the things that I've noted down and first let's talk about the speaker if you've seen the unboxing video the speaker is here at the top over here and I was worried how would be the speaker's performance LAN luckily the speaker performance is actually good on this device let me I try to actually show you one of my videos so that you can judge the what do you say let's play back the a8 or let me skip this ad one second guys one second guys you so as you can see though it's just a single so let me make light it remotely no set so just a single speaker it has but it is adequately loud and the nice thing is that even when you're watching videos and stuff like this when you're holding the phone as the speaker is here at the top you don't block out so the speaker position is actually good and it tastes decently loud I also took some speaker phone calls with this one and those were fine now moving to the screen quality quite a few of you have asked me about the screen quality it is not a quad HD display like the note 8 or the Galaxy s8 at site 7 it's a full HD Plus display that we have put but it's a Super AMOLED display and the quality of the display is actually good I watched quite a bit of videos on this and I was just keeping it also on the desk and watching the video is the viewing angles are good so the display panel I have no problems in terms of display panel but definitely it's not a quad HD display that you are getting the face unlocking as I told you quite a few of you asked that works and you can enable the face unlocking with the combination of this fingerprint scanner so for example have enabled the fingerprint scanner but I also have the face and locking so if I just use the face unlocking feature also that works now moving to what do you say the biggest thing that about this device is that Samsung is now concentrating on the selfie market it looks like that and I'm very very puzzled about this because it has that dual front-facing camera and it offers those portrait mode but they have simply ignored the most important point about a camera that is the rear facing camera I don't know about you but most people actually take lots of photos with the rear facing camera and then this one the rear facing camera is not that great I would say it omits important thing that is called optical image stabilization and it also does not have any 4k video so I'm slightly disappointed with the same considering the price point of this device and now going to the front-facing camera as I've told you the front-facing camera is good in outdoor lighting conditions in artificial lighting conditions you have to be a little bit careful otherwise the pictures can come out to be blurry but again here also I am slightly pointed with Samsung because they have two cameras set up but again if you use the both it's not very wide vision that you are getting so yes there is a software mode of selfie right but for that you have to just take a photo hold the camera like this left and right and it's sort of a gimmick they should have gone with one violence and one regular lens for the front-facing camera but that's not the effect the only effect that you are getting actually with the front-facing camera is that bouquet effect and that works so yeah essentially I would call this a selfie centric smartphone and now to sum up I would say what I liked about this device what I didn't like about this device the first thing that I really liked about this device is the styling and the build quality from a distance it looks like a note 8 the build quality is great but again don't mistake this for a flagship smartphone this is a mid-range a smartphone but I frankly felt that the rear facing camera could have been a lot better considering the price point of the side device so I would say you can go with this device but again you are paying quite a bit of premium for the Samsung branding this smartphone might be a person for whom they really want a Samsung smartphone and a really stylish smartphone then you can go for it but again do remember you are paying quite a bit of premium for this same so guys this was a FAQ video for the Samsung Galaxy it plus if you are still not subscribed to my youtube channel hit that subscribe button thanks for watching this is Rajee in Terre Haute to see you in my next video take carehi guys this is Ranjit Anand this video I'll be answering the frequently asked questions and my thoughts about the samsung galaxy a8 plus and I have
