Decorating the Gingerbread Kitchen Countertop
If you were to like watch and compare the two, you'll see that it is different but because I do a lot of cooking on this particular countertop, I did want to keep it a little bit more simple. And then, I just outfitted a cute little striped bow to my wreath with the stripes that was another pattern that I used as well. Are the stripes you'll see it again later on in this video when we tackle the bar stools. I actually wanted to do a gingham pattern but I haven't found the gingham ribbon that I really love, so um so yeah so anyways here's what it looks like on the countertop and super cute.
I'm not entirely sure what happened to this footage right here where I decorated the opposite corner of the countertop. Um but I couldn't find it but here's what it ended up looking like also slightly different from last year as well. So, I added these gingerbread houses. Originally actually wanted them clustered on the kitchen island but I didn't like how it looked there either. You'll actually see me work through that later on when I tackle the island but I just thought they looked really cute here and I definitely needed some gingerbread houses on the opposite end just kind of balance it out.
And then, I just put these little gingerbread men here and then I added these little gumball machines um but I didn't decorate the inside because I didn't have exactly what I needed for them. So, whenever I do my Christmas full house tour maybe that will be an update that you'll see um so it's something I need to work on after this video. But anyways, that's what they look like.
The Little Tour of the Countertops
Before we move on to the kitchen island and the last part of this deck right with me is going to be the kitchen island. Here I am putting my brand new gingerbread house I bought it this year and I'm setting it on a riser and then I'm bringing back these beautiful um garland I really don't know like specifically what they're called they have like a hook at the end and so I just bent them so they would kind of like wrap around the base of the riser so it kind of like hooks on to it so it doesn't like slide around.
And then, you can see here that I'm like playing with different options. I actually bought a bunch of these little cake stands from Hobby Lobby thinking I was gonna use them for the gingerbread kitchen but they just didn't end up working out. So, and then you see here are the nutcrackers so I moved them next to this house and then I work on the bar stools.
These bar stools are new I just recently got them so they're also different from what was here last year these are white whereas the other ones were like a dark beige and it just didn't complement my kitchen at all because you can see my countertops or my cabinets are white. So, it just looks so much more nice and fresh and I knew immediately that I wanted to do these little wreaths and so here is that stripe ribbon again Loki's playing with me so if you hear that breathing it's him this microphone picks up a lot um but I love the way this turned out and these little snow dusted frosted whatever wreaths are from Hobby Lobby.
I actually had two of them last year and they were by the window and I knew I was like oh I'll just buy two more and then they'll be the wreaths on my barstools. So, this is how it was done so the little um ribbon matches the one on the wreath above the stove and then it will also match the ribbon I'm using in the butler's pantry. But that won't be in today's video it will be its own standalone video because I'll do like a little hot chocolate bar in that video.
The Gingerbread Kitchen Tour
I have absolutely loved decorating the space and honestly, I will tell you this, it is I don't know how but it is somehow just even more magical in person. The camera truly is not doing it any justice because every time I walk into the kitchen, I forget like I've decorated and it just takes my breath away every time.
I was like oh wow, it's so pretty sorry about the lighting, there's just a lot of windows in here and it just messes with the camera. But yeah, just I'm so happy with how it turned out, I hope you guys love it and got any inspiration from it to decorate your spaces. And in the end of this video, I'm gonna do a little have some coffee with me um using my new gingerbread mug so uh stay tuned for that.
And, I will see you guys for the next space we're gonna be doing a plaid day two and I'll see you guys there bye foreign uh you
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: eni feel like i've waited all year to decorate this specific area of my house if you're new i've already decorated my media room and my bedroom both have different themes my media room was a candy cane theme and my bedroom was a plaid theme and today we're going to be doing my kitchen which is a gingerbread theme i have loved this theme so much and i honestly cannot see myself straying away from it so but we did make some updates to 2021 uh i'll definitely link my christmas playlist down below and you can go see all the past years of me decorating but i do feel like this is the best gingerbread kitchen i've ever done so the first thing i wanted to do different this year was add two more trees last year i just had one tree it was the one in the center and this area right here in the corner of my kitchen is kind of awkward because the way the windows curve so i knew that i needed to kind of fill it and i thought the best way to do that was just to get two more trees and with that i wanted to decorate obviously the branches so i'm adding all of these little mini ornaments i just thought they were really cute and really fit in with like the gingerbread theme something about small ornaments just like speaks that to me so i first start off by decorating with the red and green ornaments but using more red than green as red is like my base color and once i had those in i went in with these gingham ornaments i actually had a slight panic because these were not sold again this year at hobby lobby and i thought oh my gosh am i going to have enough for the three trees because i really love these ornaments and i thought that it was really important for me to bring out this gingham pattern um to like push my gingerbread theme but in the end i actually had enough to do all three trees and it's really interesting because of the way that i clustered them together it definitely looks like one big tree um but yeah so anyways once i get those in then i start going in with the specialty ornaments which are of course the gingerbread men and they're all super cute i will link um some items that i can down below but the majority of this is from hobby lobby so and if you watch all of my videos in halls and you already know that because i show everything that i haul because i do share all of my decorating with you guys so i want to make sure that you guys are seeing it you know as i'm purchasing it in case you like want to follow along with my decor styles the next space was this pie safe and i actually did the exact same thing as i did last year so there's really oh there goes loki there's really not any difference at all from last year to this year uh hey do the one thing that i knew i wanted to change was the way i did the kitchen table so last year all i had were those gingham trees and that was it i knew immediately once it was time to start thinking about decorating for christmas this was an area i definitely wanted to expand on so this is what i've done i brought back those same gingham trees because i wanted them to tie in with the ornaments and then i also brought in these uh white trees that are like styrofoam but they have glitter on them and i really like them because the glitter like translates to sugar for me and so that has like that little gingerbread quality and then those other little gingerbread houses they're kind of like flat and they are from walmart and then i brought in this garland just to like give it like some more dimension and then i outfitted it with my remaining ornaments that i had and then the gingerbread men to also tie back into the tree and i really loved the way that it turned out it was super super cute uh uh next i move on to my kitchen countertops and also doing quite a bit of differences here compared to last year and my favorite part about this is the framing of my big window in front of my kitchen it was actually one of the things that i loved the most when i saw this house and last year i had like lamps and i did these nutcrackers and the nutcrackers end up going somewhere else this year and it was like the first area that when i thought about decorating my kitchen i knew immediately this was the first space i had to change so here's what i came up with i just brought in these beautiful little trees at different height they're from hobby lobby they have like that crystal look too so again the sugary effect and then i just nestled these like metal gingerbread men they come in a pair from amazon they are the most amazing find i've ever found on amazon and i will link them down below for you and you get a boy and a girl in one like in a pair so super cute and yeah and then over in this corner the reason why i've shown you guys the picture on my iphone was because i actually wanted to replicate exactly what i did last year in this section even though in the end i did change quite a bit so um i just really liked how it looked last year it was one of my favorite spots on the countertop so i thought you know there's nothing wrong with it let's do it again but in the end i did make some some changes so like i added this little diner here to the bottom and then i added the christmas or the gingerbread house which is an essential oil diffuser the one on the left i'll link it down below and i'll also link the christmas essential oils that i bought for it such a cute fine they also make a christmas tree essential oil diffuser too all right over on this side of the kitchen these countertops i wanted to keep simple i didn't like how it looked last year so i did make a change here so if you were to like watch and compare the two you'll see that it is different but because i do a lot of cooking on this particular countertop i did want to keep it a little bit more simple and then i just outfitted a cute little striped bow to my wreath with the stripes that was another pattern that i used as well are
