What's Up Guys: A Quick Look at iOS 10 Beta 4
Hey guys, Mike here from The Detroit Borg, and welcome back to my channel! Today, I'm excited to share with you some of the changes and updates in iOS 10 beta 4. This release is packed with some exciting new features and tweaks that are sure to make your device feel faster and more responsive than ever.
First up, let's talk about the updated Emoji Library. With this release, Apple has added over 100 new emojis to the mix, including many of the existing ones getting a visual refresh with a new color gradient. But that's not all - these new emojis also include some more family combinations and improved gender diversity. You'll notice that the rainbow flag is included in the latest batch of updates, which is definitely a step in the right direction for inclusivity.
But what really caught my attention was the gun emoji. Instead of being depicted as a traditional firearm, it's now shown as a water pistol - a clever way for Apple to sidestep any controversy surrounding the original design. I think this move shows that Apple is committed to being sensitive to user feedback and taking steps to ensure that their updates are inclusive and respectful.
Another notable addition is the ability to communicate different key presses through sound effects. This means that, for example, the backspace key now has its own distinctive sound, as does the space return shift, number keys, and even the clock and dates. The idea behind this change is to help users quickly identify which key was pressed without having to look at the screen.
Of course, these new sounds aren't the only changes you'll notice in iOS 10 beta 4. The folder animation has been tweaked to be much faster, making it feel snappier and more responsive than ever before. And if you swipe down to the notification center and then swipe right to your widget panel, you'll now see the clock and dates above the list of notifications - a nice touch that's sure to make your experience even more streamlined.
One other minor tweak worth mentioning is the new splash screen that appears when you first update your device. This temporary animation gives users a chance to get accustomed to the new control center before being taken back to their regular interface. And speaking of the control center, Apple has made some changes there as well - specifically to the home section, where you'll notice redesigned icons.
But what's interesting is that some wallpaper papers have been removed in this update, while others have been restored from iOS 8. We're not entirely sure where these changes will end up in the final release of iOS 10, but it's clear that Apple is still refining and tweaking their UI to make it more intuitive and user-friendly.
It's also worth noting that one feature has been removed from this update: the taptic engine vibration when you lock your phone. While we miss this tactile feedback, it's great to know that the vibration function still works even when muting your device. And let's not forget about the speed and responsiveness of animations and transitions - everything feels a lot faster now, making your device feel snappier and more responsive than ever before.
In conclusion, iOS 10 beta 4 is shaping up to be an exciting update that offers some impressive new features and tweaks. From the updated Emoji Library to the improved sound effects and speed boosts, there's a lot to love about this release. As always, I'll keep you updated with more information as we get closer to the final release of iOS 10 this fall. updated Emoji Library which adds over 100 new emojis with many of the existing emojis getting a visual refresh with a new color gradient the new emojis also include some more family combinations and improved gender diversity notable additions also include the rainbow flag in addition to the gun emoji in fact the gun emoji is depicted as a water pistol instead of a gun this is one way of getting around the controversy of adding this specific Emoji the other big news is that they've tweaked the sounds of the keyboard once again so now we have multiple sounds with different tones the idea is to communicate a different key press so for example the backspace key has a distinctive sound that's all its own as does the space return shift and number keys so let's go and take a listen to them they've also made plenty of other minor tweak so for example the folder animation is now much faster and if you swipe down to the notification center and swipe right to your widget panel we now have the clock and dates just above it incidentally on the iPad this is slightly different because it also includes a weather widget which is kind of nice also if you swipe up on the control center after updating for the first time you get this splash screen so once you dismiss this you're back to your regular control center speaking of that control center if you go back to the home section you can see that once again they've redesigned the icons there are a few weird things going on with the wallpaper papers some of them have been removed and some of the old iOS 8 wallet papers have been restored so we're not sure exactly where this is going to land in the final release a feature gone from the third beta is the taptic engine vibration when you lock the phone so that's gone but you still get the vibration when you mute the phone and lastly the most important new change here is that everything seems to be a lot faster so all the animations and transitions have been sped up so the devices just feel much smoother and quicker than before all righty guys hope you enjoyed this look at the fourth beta of course as more betas come out I'll keep you updated until we see the final release this fall if you guys want to see more from IOS 10 I have a complete playlist of all my iOS 10 videos and I'll leave that link in the description below thanks for watching and I'll see you
