What's Up Guys: Exploring 3D Touch with the Apple Watch and iPhone 6s/6s Plus
I'd like to share with you guys a feature that I think is pretty cool, which is basically Force touch on the Apple watch. Now, Apple introduced this feature of course with the iPhone 6s and 6s plus, and I believe it could be the future of touchscreens not only for smartphones but also for the automobile industry and beyond.
So, let's dive into how it works. To use 3D touch, all you need to do is give it a light tap to the screen and hold. This will bring up wiggle mode, where you can rearrange your icons just like you normally would with iOS. Now, if you give it a firm press, you get a brand new set of menus, which is 3D touch. You can select from various options such as taking a selfie, recording a video or slow-motion video, or simply taking a photo.
This feature applies to all other applications as well, like music, where I can select to play Beats One or search for an individual song. It also works in the context of creating new contacts, going back to most recent calls, and emails. You can compose emails, search your VIP list, and box. Now, when you get a text message, you can tap and hold to see the content, but if you keep pressing harder, it pops into place, just like that.
The Messages application has another cool action of 3D touch. When you firmly press on it, you can see the most recent contact that just texted you, and you can take a look at their message. You can also jump into your email if you have an invited message to compose an email, send a message, create a new contact, or even initiate FaceTime.
That's why I say 3D touch could be the next generation of multi-touch for the future. Just imagine this technology on your vehicle - it's already available on the Apple watch, and it's now mainstream with the iPhone 6s and 6s plus. This was a quick look at the functions and how 3D touch works, but I hope you guys enjoy this video, and I'll catch you guys really soon.
