ZTE Blade V8 Lite & Mini hands on

John Vasco here with Android Authority, I'm live at MWC 2017, and I'm currently at the ZTE booth. Today, we have the opportunity to check out two new devices that ZTE has announced: the ZTE Blade V8 Mini and the Light.

First, let's take a closer look at the ZTE Blade V8 Mini. This device has a pretty nice design, with a metal body that gives it a premium feel. The top portion of the back has an orange color, which is unique to this particular model, but others will have different colors as well. Overall, the build quality is good, and it's easy to hold with one hand due to its lightweight design. One of the standout features of the V8 Mini is its dual cameras on the back, which provide a bouquet effect that allows you to adjust the focus after taking a shot. The rear camera consists of a 13-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor, while the device also features a mode for producing 3D photos.

To take advantage of this feature, two cameras are used, with one taking the photo and the other viewing it in real-time. This allows you to view the 3D image in Google Cardboard, giving you an immersive experience. The V8 Mini is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chip, which comes with 2GB of RAM. While the specs may not be particularly impressive, they should suffice for a budget device.

One thing worth noting is that there's no official announcement on pricing or release dates for this phone, but it will be available in European and Asian markets. Unfortunately, there's still no word on US availability. Next to the V8 Mini, we have the ZTE Blade V8 Light, which looks very similar to its counterpart but with a key difference: the absence of dual cameras on the back.

The V8 Light has an 8-megapixel single rear camera, which is a significant reduction from the dual-camera setup in the Mini. However, it still retains some of ZTE's higher-end design characteristics, such as a metal body and fingerprint sensor. The device also features a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.

In terms of processor, the V8 Light is equipped with an octa-core MT6750 chip, which should provide decent performance for its budget-friendly price. As with the Mini, there's no official word on pricing or availability for this device, but it will also be available in European and Asian markets.

the ZTE blade V8 mini and the light now these two devices are kind of more entrylevel devices I'll start off first with the mini here so with the ZT blade mini it has a pretty nice design a metal body and you have this uh stylish aspect with the top portion of the back has an orange color with this particular model but others will have different color but nice build quality for the most part you have a fingerprint sensor pretty easy to hold with one hand uh the rest of the body is comprised out of plastic now it is kind of lightweight uh some of the key stuff that stands out with the V8 mini is on the back you have dual cameras so of course you're going to get that dual you're going to have that bouquet effect giving you the ability to actually adjust the focus after you take the shot it comes down to a 13 megapixel camera and 2 megapixel camera there's also this mode where you could produce 3D photos so it takes two you uses both cameras takes a shot and then you could view that image in in a in in a Google cardboard so you can view it in a 3D mode it's powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chip with 2 GB of RAM you have a 5in 720p display of course the specs don't really make it too attractive but for an ental device it should suffice now they didn't announce a pricing for this phone or release date but it is coming to the European Asian markets no word yet on the US availability and this one here is the lighter spec ZT blade V8 light so the V8 light looks very similar to the V8 mini but with the exception that you don't have those dual cameras on the back it looks like it but it's actually just a single camera there which is an 8 megapixel camera still has a metal body kind of clean you have a fingerprint sensor right there easy to hold construction seems decent for the most part and you could tell it has some of the same design characteristics that we see in zte's higher end devices like the uh ZT axon 7 but as far as the specs like I said they're a lot lighter than the uh than the uh mini so the light here has a 5in 720p display you have an 8 megapixel rear camera you have a 5 megapixel front-facing camera and then it's has 2 GB of RAM um 16 GB of internal storage and as far as the processor is concerned it's packing an octacore mt6750 processor so a little bit in the Lighter Side hence the lighter the light name attachment to it just like the mini there's no wording on pricing or availability but it is coming to the European Asian markets so if you guys want to learn more about either device you can check out our website Android
