One Year of Work - GN 3.0 HQ is Operational (Office Tour & Plans)

The Office Tour: A Glimpse into the Making of a Production Space

As we embarked on our office tour, it was clear that a lot of planning and preparation had gone into creating this production space. The reason for choosing concrete as the primary material for the room's flooring was to accommodate the large machines with wheels that would be rolling in. This decision was made to ensure stability and durability, given the heavy equipment that would be used in various tests and experiments.

The fan testing area, thermal testing area, and salt spray tester were all installed in this room, taking advantage of its climate-controlled environment. The past tests had already shown that it was possible to conduct these types of tests efficiently within the space. As we explored each area, it became clear that attention to detail was paramount in designing the perfect production space.

One notable aspect of the office tour was the storage room. We had previously seen this location used for various purposes, including video testing and storing equipment. However, with the addition of new cabinets and adjustments made to the layout, it would now be repurposed as a secondary storage area. The previous occupants' attempts to avoid using 90-degree angles in their design resulted in some uneven walls, which were subsequently corrected during the renovation process.

The server room was another key component of the tour, with a focus on its relatively small size compared to what one might expect for such a critical function. Instead of housing an entire network, this room would be equipped with just one computer and multiple hard drives connected to it. The server would be housed in a Silverstone CS381 micro-ATX computer box, accompanied by a large disk shelf below it.

As we moved on from the server room, we arrived at the storage area, which was previously used as a break room due to its awkwardly shaped walls. However, through careful planning and renovation, this space had been transformed into a functional storage area for regression testing and long-term use equipment. The attention to detail displayed in the original design ensured that shelves could be easily installed against any wall, providing ample space for future additions.

Throughout the office tour, it was evident that there was much more to the production space than initially meets the eye. Behind the scenes, countless hours of planning and negotiation had gone into securing the perfect location and contractors to bring the vision to life. As we concluded our tour of the office, it became clear that this project had been carefully crafted over a year, with each aspect meticulously considered to ensure its success.
