PlayStation 4 - First Impressions

**My First Impressions of the PlayStation 4**

I can already say that if you're considering getting an annual plan for the PlayStation 4, $50 is not bad at all. In fact, it's more than reasonable. For me, this is a no-brainer, and I would definitely sign up for an annual plan.

One of the things that really stands out to me about the PS4 is how easy it is to jump between different games and menus. The dynamic menu system, which Sony has officially called the "PlayStation Dynamic Menu," makes it incredibly simple to access your friend requests, check out the PlayStation Store, change your settings, and view the full menu. I was playing Killzone: Shadowfall last night, and every time I received a message or friend request, I could quickly drop back into the dynamic menu without having to pause the game. This is not a new feature by any means, as it's also available on the Wii U. However, I have to say that the PS4 is still significantly faster than the Wii U when it comes to navigating menus and checking notifications.

Speaking of Killzone: Shadowfall, this game truly does look next-gen. The graphics, lighting, and particle effects are all top-notch, and I was genuinely blown away by the level of detail in certain scenes. In fact, at times, it was almost impossible to tell where cutscenes ended and real-time gameplay began. This is a testament to the incredible capabilities of the PS4's hardware, which has finally reached a point where console gaming can rival PC gaming in terms of visual fidelity.

As I played Killzone: Shadowfall, I couldn't help but think about how far we've come as a gaming industry. We're no longer stuck with graphics that are barely better than our old consoles from 10 years ago. Instead, we have games like Resogun and Contrast, which showcase some truly mind-blowing visual effects. Of course, not all games are next-gen in terms of visuals, but it's great to see the PS4 pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

**The Verdict**

Overall, my first impressions of the PlayStation 4 have been overwhelmingly positive. The console is fast, easy to use, and offers some incredible graphics capabilities. While not every game is next-gen in terms of visuals, the PS4 has certainly raised the bar for console gaming. I'm excited to see what other great games come out for the platform and how it will continue to evolve over time.

**My Thoughts on the PlayStation 4**

I have to say that my experience with the PS4 so far has been incredibly positive. As I mentioned earlier, jumping between different games and menus is a breeze thanks to the dynamic menu system. The console is also incredibly fast, which is a huge improvement over my previous gaming experiences.

One thing that did surprise me was how good Killzone: Shadowfall actually was. While it's not necessarily the most exciting game, it's clear that Sony put a lot of effort into showcasing the PS4's capabilities. I finished playing through the entire game last night, and while it wasn't particularly long, it was definitely worth my time.

**Is the PlayStation 4 Worth It?**

If you're considering getting a PS4, I would definitely say that it's worth it. The console is fast, easy to use, and offers some incredible graphics capabilities. While not every game is next-gen in terms of visuals, the PS4 has certainly raised the bar for console gaming.

That being said, there are a few caveats to consider. First, you'll need to make sure that you're getting an HDMI port that works properly, as I've heard horror stories about faulty ports causing all sorts of problems. Second, you may want to keep in mind that not every game is next-gen in terms of visuals, so if you're looking for the absolute best graphics possible, you may be disappointed.

**The Future of the PlayStation 4**

One thing that's exciting about the PS4 is where it's headed in the future. Sony has already released a slew of great games for the console, including Killzone: Shadowfall, Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and Resogun. These games showcase some truly amazing graphics capabilities, and I have no doubt that we'll see even more impressive titles in the future.

Of course, there are also rumors about upcoming features and hardware upgrades for the PS4, which could potentially make it an even more powerful console in the years to come. While nothing has been officially announced yet, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sony will continue to push the boundaries of what's possible with its next-gen console.

**Conclusion**

Overall, my first impressions of the PlayStation 4 have been incredibly positive. The console is fast, easy to use, and offers some incredible graphics capabilities. While not every game is next-gen in terms of visuals, the PS4 has certainly raised the bar for console gaming. I'm excited to see what other great games come out for the platform and how it will continue to evolve over time.

**Recommendation**

If you're considering getting a PS4, I would definitely recommend it. The console is a must-have for any gamer looking to experience next-gen graphics capabilities. While there are some caveats to consider, including HDMI port issues and potential graphical limitations in certain games, the PS4 is still an incredible value.

**Final Thoughts**

As I wrap up my first impressions of the PlayStation 4, I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with the console. It's fast, easy to use, and offers some truly amazing graphics capabilities. While not every game is next-gen in terms of visuals, the PS4 has certainly raised the bar for console gaming.

I'm excited to see what other great games come out for the platform and how it will continue to evolve over time. With its incredible hardware capabilities and user-friendly interface, I have no doubt that the PS4 will remain a top choice for gamers in the years to come.

hey guys wor you David Franco here from gearpanco gaming.com with my first impressions of the PlayStation 4 okay so I've had the PlayStation 4 since Friday and honestly that's all I've been doing this weekend except for the occasional hang out with friends eat dinner and stuff like that but I have put a lot of time into it Saturday night no no actually Friday night technically Saturday morning I went to bed at 5:30 a.m. then last night technically Sunday morning I went to bed at 6:00 a.m. so yeah it's pretty say those soon I'm kind of addicted which has inspired me to make a video pointing out my 10 top things that I've noticed throughout my first impressions of the PS4 and honestly I think that's the best way of keep keeping this video organized because I have a lot to say so let's get started number one the console is quiet it is very quiet now it does get warm on the right side because I guess that's where all the processing is going on and the GPU and all that stuff but I got to say overall I really cannot hear the fan noise or the disc spinning and that's probably about 6 feet from my couch and honestly I don't think you would hear it even if you're closer because if you're like me you probably play with your game volume very loud I know I do now obviously if you put your ear up to it you will hear the fan noise you will hear the dis spinning but then again that's something you should come to expect it's technology number two the dual shock 4 is awesome now I've already talked about this in my unboxing video or yeah my unboxing and First Look video guys believe me when I say this the dual shock 4 is such a massive Improvement coming from something like the six AIS slash the the dual shock 3 I am loving this controller and it actually feels great for firstperson Shooters such as Killzone shadowfall which is something I could not say about the PlayStation 3 so keep that in mind the doal shock 4 is easily Sony's best attempt at a controller yet number three and speaking of huge improvements the PlayStation Dynamic menu is a huge Improvement coming from the PlayStation 3's cross media bar now I got to be honest I was never a huge fan of the Cross media bar I know more is better sometimes when it comes to options and settings but guys somebody out there has to agree with me the cross media bar it was a mess it had way way too many settings SL options I mean why the hell would I ever need to hook up a printer to my Playstation 3 I never understood that now maybe there are people out there who like to print things from their PS3 and that's great but me person personally I don't need that kind of functionality from a video game console but thankfully obviously Sony has been doing their homework and the dynamic menu like I said is a huge Improvement it's very clean very organized and straight to the point number four and this is huge I'm still blown away by this broadcasting your gameplay via twitch or ustream.tv is stupidly simple seriously it just works the only thing you got to do is put in your login credentials for either TT or you stream me personally I prefer twitch nowadays and speaking of that don't forget to follow me over at twitch.tv/ DeFranco gaming but yes the setup is incredibly simple the streaming is incredibly simple and the user interface SL user experience incredibly simple you get a large streaming window for you to focus on obviously because you're the one playing the game but under that you get the chat room yes the live chat room and then on the right you get your little thumbnail for your video which I have not had the chance to do yet but I think two usually my PlayStation camera is coming in and I can't wait to check that out and of course you can provide live audio commentary I am just honestly Blown Away by how simple it is Sony really kicked ass in this department oh and yes of course if you do not feel like streaming yourself which I understand cuz not everybody's comfortable on camera or put in their gameplay out there you can watch hundreds upon hundreds of live streams from other players for example last night with my friend Chris we were watching this random stream of this girl she was pretty cute too playing with the playroom app and her PlayStation camera and it was actually pretty funny and finding her channel was so simple as well as other channels for KN for Speed Rivals Killzone shadowfall Knack there was a Madden stream that I came across the possibilities are pretty much endless it was just a really cool experience and I cannot wait to take advantage of this further come Tuesday number five and this is very interesting upon inserting your game desk into the PlayStation 4 optical drive you will notice right away yes the game installs itself without any prompts so whether you like it or not your game will be installed to the hard drive and Killzone shadowfall I forget I think it's like 43 GB 39 I'm not entirely sure but I got to say the installation process was very quick it probably took 2 or 3 minutes number six and this is still something Sony has yet to improve coming from the PlayStation 3's cross media bar and that's the fact that accepting friend requests unfortunately it's still not very straightforward now for me somebody who puts out their name the creative one on PlayStation Network I'm obviously going to get hundreds upon hundreds of friend requests and I love that I mean I appreciate everyone added me I just think it's awesome but unfortunately there's still no select all option or even just an instant select option such as pressing triangle or Square unfortunately with every single friend request I have to do x view friend request accept back out View accept back out view accept back out and I did that last night about 150 times but regardless of the poor functionality in the friends list and I really hope Sony improves that I don't see why they won't well they never did with the PS3 but let's just hope they do but anyway regardless of that there is now a 2,000 friends limit and that is awesome 2,000 friends so guys if you want to add me the creative one all all one word no underscores go on and do that number seven file management is surprisingly simple not only are your screenshots and your videos of your gameplay saved automatically per title so for instance if I only want to view my screenshots Andor videos for Killzone shadowfall I go into my system management settings or system storage management I'm not 100% sure what it's called right now but it is very easy you just go in your folder and you can delete your Clips or screenshots right there and thankfully there is a select all op option because let's be honest I've been playing around with this share option a lot so I've been taking a lot of random screenshots that I don't really need to save so last night I thankfully found the option to select all and delete so if you can select all screenshots I don't see why you shouldn't be able to select all friend requests so hopefully again Sony looks into that ASAP but as of right now the file management for what it is is pretty damn simple number eight included with every PlayStation 4 console is a 30-day trial for PlayStation Plus and with that PlayStation Plus Membership you get three free games resag gun as I missed my finger reson Warframe and contrast three games for free guys I got to give props a Sony that's pretty awesome and yes this finally means I'm a PlayStation plus member I've heard about it for years from my friends that you can get all these free games or you can get these insane discounts on new games or somewhat old games or whatever so in other words words when this 30-day trial of PlayStation Plus is up you can bet you a butts I will be signing up for an annual plan it's $50 that's I don't I don't really think that's bad number nine jumping back and forth between your game and the PlayStation Dynamic menu is just easy seriously it does not get more simple than what Sony has presented to us the gamers for example last night I was playing Killzone shadowfall and I was getting messages and friend requests and you know the little not notification in the top left of the screen I press the PlayStation button boom drops you right back into the home menu or whatever you want to call it the dynamic menu is what Sony officially calls it I can view my friend request I can check out the PlayStation Store I can change my settings I can view the full menu all while Killzone is put on hold in the background now this isn't anything drastically new because this is already available on something like the Wii U but I got to say despite all the software updates the Wii U has seen it's still still God awful slow compared to what the PlayStation 4 offers because I got to say the PS4 is freaking fast jumping between Killzone and the dynamic menu and your friends list in the PlayStation Store it literally takes like 2 seconds and that is a huge huge feature Sony did a great job and finally number 10 this is probably the most important one of all because at the end of the day the PlayStation 4 is a gaming console right of course and that's the fact that the games as of right now truly do look next gen I was actually blown away by the sheer amounts of detail and just the graphics and the lighting and the particle effects all in Killzone shadowfall seriously guys just go to facebook.com/ David Franco and find the screenshot I took of Killzone that right there I promise you is real time and guys you know what last night while playing Killzone I actually had a hard time telling the difference between a CG cut scene or cji as some people like to say and real time gameplay we have finally reached that point in gaming where it's difficult to tell the difference and I am so glad to say that right now because I know there's a lot of PC Gamers out there who have the ability of playing Battlefield 4 on Ultra or whatever they call it but I'm just really really happy to say that that quality of gaming SLG Graphics has finally reached the console industry which is exactly why I bought Killzone shadowfall because in my opinion it's more of a tech demo than an amazing game not that shadowfall is a bad game because trust me I really enjoyed it and actually I finished it last night around 400 in the morning I think but it is a really good game it's just not overly exciting but like I said it's more of a tech demo Benchmark to show what the PS4 is capable of as of today but of course we cannot forget we do have great multiplatform titles such as Assassin's Creed 4 Call of Duty ghost Battlefield 4 as well as Indie titles such as Resogun which shows off insane particle effects seriously that game is actually kind of mind-blowing and then Warframe and contrast which I have yet to play but I'm actually going to play them within minutes of recording this video and well there you go my first impressions of the PlayStation 4 I got to say right now it's much much more positive than negative that's very slanted let's just do this this is the positive meter or scale rather this is the negative you can barely see it I like metaphors but seriously the PlayStation 4 is a great experience so far and thankfully knon wood I don't have any hardware failures cuz I've seen HDMI ports dying I've seen hard drives dying and now I've even seen some faulty GPU where I think somebody had like graphical artifacts on his screen and thankfully that's not happening to me and I really hope it doesn't happen cuz I don't want to have to go through the trouble of sending my console back to Sony that's obviously not fun but yes it has been overall a positive experience and I cannot wait to see what else the PS4 has to offer so guys what do you think are you enjoying the PS4 did you get it already are you getting it for Christmas are you waiting till next year or are you even waiting till like 2015 or 2016 which if you have that kind of patience I give you props I really can't wait that long but let me know in the comments below let's get a great discussion going and as always guys your support means the world to me and I will see you in my next video thanks for watching app.com is a site where you can win prizes like iPods iPads gift cards and more simply by downloading and rating apps get started right away by using the link belowthis PlayStation 4 coverage is brought to you by app.com a site where you can win prizes by
