Review of The Encore Portable USB Power Supply

Hey guys, it's David from the unlock.com and today we're doing a quick review of The Encore portable USB power supply. Okay, so what does it do? This device which was provided to us by wirelessemporium.com if you want to check them out, basically plugs into the wall and it can either be used to charge your device directly, uh basically using it as a wall charger. You plug your phone into it or whatever, then plug it into the wall and you can use it as a charger or you can unplug it from the wall carry it around with you and plug your phone into it, kind of as an extra battery pack and it's supposed to charge your device um kind of while it's plugged in without needing a wall. So, the real question is does it work? That is what we're going to find out.

One of the benefits of this particular charger model which is the Encore portable USB power supply is that it comes with all these different tap adapters that you can use to charge pretty much any phone. Um so the one where most people are going to be using is this micro USB which is what most phones have nowadays but they do also have a mini USB and they all just kind of snap into here like that uh and some other ones for even older devices like your old Nokia that's sitting in your kitchen drawer um some old motorolas Etc. Okay, so how this thing works is basically you plug it into the wall, it has a little indicator light on the top of it uh that is red when you first plug it in and eventually will turn green to let you know that it's fully charged and ready for use. So, you wait for that to happen and then we can unplug it and then test it out and see if it works.

Okay, so now that our device is dying let's plug it in to our charger. You can see it's now charging it says so let's see how long it takes. Okay, so after about an hour and a half the charger started blinking to let us know that it was out of power and we'll see how much power it actually gave us. Okay, so judging by this battery monitor that is in Android, we can see that it went from about 10% battery uh when we plugged it in to about 57% uh in about an hour and a half then it ran out of power and now we're just charging again.

Okay, so all in all this device gave us about 40% of our battery power back in about an hour and a half. Um not a terrible amount but might be enough to get you those few extra hours you need to finish out your day. And it also does double as an actual charger, so you can just plug this into the wall now and plug your phone in at night and then both of them get charged by the next day.
