DIY _ No-Sew Pillow

# DIY No-Sew Pillows: A Fun and Affordable Project for Your Home

## Introduction

Hi guys! Lincoln just got his first big boy bed, which was so exciting—it’s so cozy! I wanted to make some customized pillows, but as you know, I can’t sew. Luckily, I found a really cool tutorial that doesn’t require a needle and thread! Today, I’m going to show you how easy it is to make these “noo” pillows using just fabric and a pair of scissors.

I’m Brooke, and I’m passionate about making beautiful things for my family on a budget. If you’re looking for an affordable way to add some personality to your home, this project is perfect for you!

## Materials You’ll Need

All you’ll need to get started is:

- Some fabric (we used plaid flannel)

- Polyester filling or a pillow insert

- A pair of scissors

That’s it! No sewing machine required.

## Step-by-Step Instructions

### 1. Prepare Your Fabric

We’re going to start with our fabric. I’ve chosen this plaid flannel and cut two identical pieces to 22x16 inches, which will yield a 10x16-inch pillow. You can make any size you want—just add an additional 6 inches to each side to accommodate the fringe.

### 2. Cut the Corners

Now, we’re going to cut a 3x3-inch square out of each corner. Repeat the same thing on the remaining three corners. The cutouts will be the same dimensions regardless of what size pillow you’re making.

### 3. Create the Fringe

Take your scissors and start cutting strips that are 1/4 of an inch wide and 3 inches long. Continue all the way through your fabric. The lines in the plaid fabric make this really easy, but if you’re using a different kind of fabric, it may be helpful to draw a line with a pencil first.

### 4. Tie the Knots

Now we’re ready to start tying our knots, which is what’s going to hold the pillow together. You can use a double knot if you want it to be more secure, but I found that a single knot works just fine. Continue this around all four sides, leaving a 3-inch opening on one end.

### 5. Add Filling

All right, all right—our cover is complete! Now we’re ready to add our filling. Lift up your open corner, and this polyester filling works really well, or you could just use an old pillow insert. Continue adding until you get your desired fullness.

### 6. Finish the Pillow

And then I like to double-knot just the corners to make it extra secure. And ta-da! Our pillow is complete.

## Final Touches

I think this turned out so cute—it’s super soft and squishy, and it really only took 20 minutes to make! This adds a nice customized touch to Lincoln’s big boy bed, and it’s really special that we made it ourselves. These add the perfect pop of color to a kid’s room or playroom, and they’re much less expensive than buying a fancy throw pillow.

## Conclusion

All right, guys—we had so much fun making our pillows, and they look so cute on Lincoln’s bed! Tell me in the comments below what other DIYs you’d like to see this fall, and we’ll see you next Friday. Bye, guys!
