**A Day in the Life of an Enthusiast: A Look at My Car and Our Recent Adventure**
It's been quite some time since I last had to worry about my eye color. I remember back then, I would have to go like a shade or two darker on my lid just for basic stuff because I could feel my eyes burning. It was not fun, let me tell you. Every time I wore something new, I'd be like "no, not again." But, thankfully, those days are behind us now.
I'm excited to say that I recently got a pre-welded transfer case for our car, and it's been a game-changer. With this new setup, I don't have to worry about cooking my eyeballs out again. It was hard enough the last time we went on an adventure, but with this new transfer case, I'm confident that we can tackle even more challenging routes.
We recently got our hands on some sweet new wheels for our car, and let me tell you, they look amazing. The corners are all cleaned up, and it's a huge improvement over the old ones. We're excited to get these out on the road and see how they perform. With our new wheels and suspension, we're ready to take on whatever the road throws at us.
Unfortunately, our recent adventure took an unexpected turn. We were out on the lift with one of our cars when we discovered that something was wrong. At first, we thought it was just a broken axle, but after further inspection, we realized that we had actually broken the transfer case itself. The gear let go, and debris got in the way, causing all sorts of problems. We were able to swap out the stock gear for a new one and get the car back up and running, but it was a close call.
We also discovered that our billet transfer case housing had cracked during the breakage. Luckily, we were able to save the rest of the car from further damage, but it's clear that this was not meant to be a test for our equipment. We're now planning to take the car back to the track and see how it handles with some adjustments made to the weight distribution.
Speaking of which, we've been thinking about taking the car on a jet ski towing adventure. It would be a blast, but we need to make sure that everything is ready for the task at hand. We're planning to bring along some skis and see how it goes. Who knows, maybe we'll even start a jet ski towing business! With our car and some jetskis, the possibilities are endless.
As we wrap up this video, I want to let you guys know that we've had an unfortunate turn of events with one of our routes. It broke pretty badly, but we were able to salvage what was left of it. We're now back on track (no pun intended), and we're excited to see where the road takes us next.
That's all for tonight, folks! We'll be back with more updates and adventures soon. Thanks for tuning in, and we'll catch you later.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enme well it's not that late it's only six yeah i guess it just got killed yeah it looks light okay this thing is sick dude this is our buddy alex we did some mexico things together not too long ago and uh this is his samurai little daddy g54 that's a g54b mitsubishi motor makes like 400 450. guess what 400 around there yeah this thing's sweet definitely gives the the red mr2 a good fight yeah so they're pretty close it's a potent little setup man it's light makes decent power like it's a great little daily got this thing sweet it's on a fuel tech puerto rico dude reppin there you go got this thing pretty gutted out there's not much left to it has a nice little roll bar a couple seats and that is about it when's the last time you had doors on this thing the last time i think eight years ago nine years ago eight or nine years ago right now the door the factory door don't fit i caught this car if you compare it with the samurais the factory some of the great bring the windshield come almost straight up and this one cut this and bring it back so now the door don't fit right so i had to do something custom to the frame but i don't need doors we don't need doors we're working you got cold just because you get a bigger jacket bigger jacket that's it all right kyle i see no excuse to not sauce all the doors off the side we're leaving the doors it looks cool it looks too good that's it thankful simple you heard him you heard the man simple i love the front end on the samurai i like how you added the little piece that makes it look angry it's a dope little car he has the radials on the back our sidekick made its first friend oh you know just out here doing suzuki meet up things suzuki boys all right guys right now we got the mr2 up on the lift and we are getting ready to change out all the factory rear control arms because as you guys remember we got some stuff sent over from hux racing so we have some new tubular rear control arms and then to go along with that stuff we have a whole bunch of spherical bushings so we will be getting rid of all the stock rubber bushings we'll have you know way less play in all the stock suspension components so it will you know hopefully be able to help us dial this thing in at the track you know they sent some shirts and stuff they also sent us this package right here that says a gift from your sponsor this was included in the box so i don't know what this is it feels kind of like a book it's probably a calendar it's pretty thick for a calendar i don't know what it is high quality calendar but i guess that means it's official you know they called us their sponsors so i mean we're sponsored by some boys and for those of you that don't know hux racing was the first company to ever help out with anything on the channel i think we were around 60 000 subscribers when i was first putting the k series into the mr2 i hit them up for some mounts and they were happy to send some over and that was the first sponsored part i ever got and it it was awesome these guys have been supporting us since the beginning so i appreciate it i remember when you got those mounts and you wore that hi-vis green hux racing shirt oh yeah always the bright green racing shirt the very first one they sent you yeah that thing is pretty dirty now all right let's see what we got so they got us some mr2 only magazine magazines plural there's nathan's mr2 on the cover that still holds the record that's the one that just went to 8 30. but look whenever this uh whenever this was issued that's when it had the record and it was an 87 a 162 which we now at least beat that but that thing's still up there but yeah those are really cool i didn't know they made mr2 magazines mr2 only that's crazy all right we got our new tubular rear control arms on the car so we are ready to go thank you hux racing for those we did schedule the car for an alignment tomorrow because things are probably going to be a little off after installing these so we're just going to double check to make sure everything's in line and then we'll be good to go been a minute since we fired this thing up oh yeah so i just got the mr2 loaded up right now i'm getting ready to head over to cletus's shop as you guys saw when we were at the track last and james was over there he was giving us some kind of pointers on the suspension and things like that giving us some of his thoughts and ideas and he said we should bring the car down over to them so we can corner balance the car they have some scales over there to see if we can play with the weight distribution a little bit and i think that is going to be a key factor on this car on getting it to go down the track faster is moving the weight around and putting it in the right places so yeah we got her all loaded up we're gonna go over there and have james take a look at this thing and see if we can't dial this thing in a little bit more ready to scale this thing or what i'm ready we're gonna put on the scales let's see what a waste see if we can move some stuff to make it scale happier in the front end is what we'll call it and we're also going to take a peek at the suspension see if we can't make it squat because that's what we want we need it to squat right now just pivots she's just pogos yeah we just want it to go like this so i can show you my six sandbag mods the theory is keep it light lights fast so i would like it to not need the sandbags you would like to do a sandbag delete in the future yeah there she is five thousand pounds oh my god you got a knee break uh i got a gear a right gear are we sitting at no driver 2500 pounds yeah so you're she's a big girl so it's gonna be like 2 600 pounds you're 112 pounds in there all all right 26 40 with you in it 2640 yeah dang so this is the thing that we really want to see is the front left front right ballast your right rear is a good bit different so you know how it steers funny when it's up and it always drives one way yeah i think it usually goes to the left nine yeah you got nine percent more so you got it's always it always goes left because this back corner is heavy so it's driving that way which side is it the right side's heavier yeah by a good bit by a hundred pounds it must yeah it must be just from like the engine because that's the training on this side and then motors over there it's about 100 pounds so you're actually you're 45 45.5 percent on the nose which is backwards you want those percentage to be higher than the rear yeah yeah but that's just going to be hard to get with it you got to move mid-engine car yeah you got to move your motor up front you got to put the motor in the front of the car that needs to be here needs to be an ls and then your turbo needs to morph into one like one about hey big can you launch and then you'll still wheelie so it's 2504 without me in it and that's also with 140 pounds of weight i added in the nose yeah i want let's take that out real quick okay let's see what's your percentage the 40 pounds is probably gonna have to stay just because it's bolted down wait for the weight bars the weights yeah the circle weights yeah those can stay let's take the sandbags out all right we're doing the sandbag delete boys on the front yeah yeah that helped to do a weight plate because then it would get the weight up farther and much lower than being back here by the fuel so you make your hood prop out of unobtainium it actually weighs like a 240 percent more than just regular steel oh yeah just a super heavy hood prop it like takes three people to lift the hood prop up you want to come out oh there it goes yeah that was a part of an mrt right there that was in there good i think some of the bag got underneath the fuel cell is what it was because when i started pulling on it this way and up it started to come kind of morphed itself into place there where we at now that was exactly a 100 pounds ish 104 pounds now we're at 2400 yeah basically 23.98 and then your front percentages are got really got real bad yeah have you tried putting a couple more pounds of air in the tires well no 10 more psi that's 10 pounds does not work like that so 42 you're you're 43 on the nose which is horrible not good but um it means to be expected though yeah yeah i mean it is i mean you i mean you're only talking you know you know 43 of 2400 pounds so i mean there's not i mean cars so short cars narrow everything's in the back except for your fuel cell i mean it's to be expected that it's you're going to fight this but most cars are built like 60 40 it's like an ideal start for like chassis car stuff well then they still on the nose 40 in the rear and yours tried to do a backflip yeah if you almost did a kickflip almost so almost turned into a trick and went x games mode it was full x games mode and the whole christmas spirit tori you're a tourist guy big difference you can get a lot of the front suspension stuff you can get a lot of the weight to kind of falsely move around by adjusting preload in the front suspension so binding up a coil over or turning it down a little bit as long as it's within reason like you take a half a turn out of this one and you might move 20 30 pounds back over to the right side of the left side so you might be able to fix some of that that way but as far as like weight bias that's just you have to physically get rid of weight in the rear or add weight in the front yeah or at least move it down further so it's not trying to walk around it so bad it's about as far forward as you'll go before it slides off slides off but even that though right there it picked up you know a percent and a half a front or before you know one one sandbag here did what two sandbags here like a little farther back yeah so i have two weight bars that are ones like 17 pounds the other one's like 15 pounds so a good almost 25 pounds you know 30 pounds with the weight that's lead but they're made weight bars for this and what we're going to do for friday is we're going to bolt them to this load of core support i'll bring them to the track and i'll bring a unibit we'll drill just a hole here there's already a hole here so we'll open this one up and then we'll just oh there's another one here too so we'll open up these two holes and we'll bolt hanging weight down here and then we're gonna put only one sandbag back and see if we can achieve you know yet a hundred pounds of sand here well we just showed that 50 pounds on the nose is the same efficiency as you know 100 pounds further back by the fuel cell so hopefully these you know 25 30 pounds here can achieve the same goal if not a higher expectation of percentage gain then both sandbags combined and then if it does then we can you know take 75 pounds out of the car which is a good bit and still have be you know where we were at with the car and then we can adjust the suspension from there did you get those rear end pieces on that you're talking about the arms yeah yeah you can go check those out if you wanted to yeah i'll look at the back of it but yeah i'll do that for sure we're going to put those weight bars here these are fancy yeah you like those the tubular arms yeah the the front to back one's really nice because you can add add a lot of bite add a lot of grip with that i'm trying to push the tire back so when the tire's rolling you know stopping it from rolling you know because when the tire grips and rolls it's trying to move so we can add some preload and whatnot with this bar adjustable in there yeah we just got those on yeah looks good i was gonna i was actually gonna ask if you know of anyone that could do a good alignment around here i have on schedule tomorrow just like a normal car alignment place but yeah i should just start with that our buddy ryan thorpe has shot down there they do like high performance car alignments i can get you linked up with him because i'd rather go to yeah someone that like knows race car stuff instead of do you and then because after we installed those arms the toe is just a little bit off yeah and now and the camber like on the one side's a little off so yeah we just need to double check that yeah for sure i'll get this i'll get that all set up so you can just go there instead of a lot of times though you mean you might roll into like a minor key for an alignment they might tell you no you know being it's a modifier yeah that's what i'm kind of worried about because i scheduled it and they might see it roll up in a trailer and they'll be like yeah we can't really do much to that i had one time where they told me they wanted to line my car because it was on a i had it on a radial the t-40 oh really it's on the drag radio and i rolled out the one to get a realignment and they told me that because it was not on a d.o.t tire they legally couldn't do it damn it's not road worthy yeah i was like man well we got the mr2 off the scales but have some ideas to play around with once we're at the track and bring some weight around things move some weight hopefully we can have less weight in the car overall but it's in the right spots to be more efficient exactly that's the other way to say less physical weight but more efficient weight so yep so the distribution is better and just distributed in a better spot and become more efficient so yep that's the plan in a couple days we'll be at the racetrack yeah and we'll see how she goes but i'm super excited our plan is to try to get the chassis a little more sorted because with the trap speeds we're seeing with the car we should be able to squeeze a little bit more on the et and we really want to try to dial in the car a little bit more until we just start throwing more power at it so at least that's what james is convincing me to do but in the back of my head i just want to send it you have them all an hour so that's the spleen you have the horsepower now we just got to get the short track there so et's to be equivalent to that mile an hour but i mean you got the mile an hour for you know 8 20 8 18 pass you know it's been fast so we'll get it there get that stuff kind of figured out and then get that mechanical pump on there and give her the beans yeah try to send it we'll get it go faster the way it is and then when we're like all right we need all the beans mechanical pump and go you're going to go to this second set of injectors too when you do that yeah yeah i already have the other injectors ready to go and the harness is already set up for them we just got to plug it in just put them in and blend them into the tune and those are ready to go yeah i can't wait for that that's going to be you know anyone can just add power and pick up top end charge you know eighth mile long kind of stuff but until your short track's not where it needs to be there's no point in going to the step of more power when the power you have is still unused you have unused power right now that you can't apply quick enough soon enough to go faster so until we can do that at least get another two tenths or three tenths out of it the way it is then there's really no point i mean what's the point overloading the car and adding more power out the back when the power you got will get you there faster already so we'll we'll get it faster the way it is and then we'll add the power to really pick it up and maybe shoot for that you know 799 hail mary pass yeah that would be awesome be the first mr2 in the seventh maybe i'm not going to call it yet i know a lot of the guys are they got it in the back of their heads right now because these things are getting fast everyone's thinking that there's a few other fast ones out there but there's no reason why this one isn't you know capable of it capable of it so yeah either way it goes i know it's going to happen eventually regardless yeah but it would be cool to be the first it'll be there but we're trying to make that one day soon so yeah well i appreciate you looking at it and yeah give me some advice so i guess we'll see you friday and then let me know about that guy because i'll definitely bring it down for the alignment i'll send up a text message dude the boats are looking freaking sweet forgot about those things yeah that's me and you're right there dude i still feel like my eyes are still like a little messed up from that day every now and then i wake up i'm like man that was some permanent eye damage have you welded much since then not too much a little bit i've had to go like a shade or two darker on my lid just for like basic stuff because i can feel my eyes or like no not again every time i wear something if we get one of these for ourselves i'm getting a pre-welded one because i don't want to cook my eyeballs out again again yeah that's hard enough yeah these came out sweet they got the corners all cleaned up yeah i'm excited for you guys to get those going well we are ending this video with some unfortunate news about the route i see we have it up on the lift right now it's actually not too bad but in the video where i gave her a ride in this thing uh the last pool you could hear that something kind of broke i thought it was an axle and that's what it sounded like after we got back to florida we realized that it was leaking some fluid and i had why i get it up on the lift to investigate what the issue was and it turns out it was not an axle we actually ended up breaking the transfer case or at least part of the train i think it was the transfer case gear that originally let go and then that just caused all kinds of havoc so if you look right here this is our billet transfer case housing from drag cartel you know our nice billet fancy piece luckily this didn't get hurt at all but this plate right here you can see has a crack there and then this all the way around is completely busted this piece is actually supposed to be part of that right there um that completely busted off this bearing rides right there and this gear that's right here the rides on that bearing meshes up with this gear right here which then goes to that that goes to the drive shaft to uh you know go to the rear diff for four wheel drive i think the gear let go first and then the debris from that kind of binded things up and stuff wanted to separate because you know if you try to if you get material in between the gears they're obviously not going to want to mesh together very well anymore and i think that force just kind of split all this apart and uh broke the inside of our transfer case right there so like i said luckily this is not hurt at all it's just this inner piece and we had to sacrifice the only other k-series transfer case we had which i had for the hatch um to go back into the row to see right here so we got a stock one in there right now and it's all put back together ready to go we did have to swap over this gear right here this is the stock gear um that sits on the end oh crap this gear goes like that and it goes inside of the case on the transmission and that connects to the gear that is underneath the final drive for the all-wheel drive we have a straight cut ppg one of these so we just had to switch that guy out onto the stock one and we got it all put back together we just decided to not reuse the billet case right now because this is going to take some time to uh take apart and clean out properly because there's a lot of debris in there we're going to have to completely go through this thing but better on another billet it'll look better on a billet belt housing anyways yeah might as well just put that one on the hatch and we'll be good to go there but we got to get this guy cleaned off but yeah kind of unfortunate news about the routes he broke up pretty good there thought it was just an axle but we busted that guy but she's all put back together now so we're all ready to go yeah rousey's ready to rip we could take this thing out and go hit the florida streets honestly whenever we wanted to yep it's been a while since she's been down here yeah it'd be sweet to take it out to me for something maybe throw some jet skis around who knows yeah go pick up some more skis we're just going to start a freaking jet ski towing business but uh yeah and as you guys saw we're getting ready to take the mr2 back to the track hopefully dial in the weight distribution a little bit more play around with some other things and you know the goal is to probably get rid of the sandbags later on we will probably bring them with us just in case we still need to use them but the sandbag method is a little ghetto need to actually start to do it legit and move that way farther forward so it's actually working better and we don't have to use as much weight in the car so just a little stuff like that but yeah excited to bring this thing back to the track and see if we can get her into the deeper eights but that's about it for tonight boys so we will see you later you\n"
