The Most Wonderful Christmas: A Year-Long Journey to Packing Up Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas this year, and that's exactly what I did - had a wonderful Christmas! Unfortunately, it's already time to pack up Christmas, but don't worry, I've got a video for you from last year (linking packing up Christmas 2016 below) if you're interested in these kind of videos. It's kind of like a speed cleanup and the transformation you know of my house - it felt really good to put all of my normal decor out of my house feels a lot lighter now, absolutely love Christmas decor but I was kind of at my max so that's all I'm gonna do in this video today is just take down Christmas.

The First Place to Start: My Living Room

The first place I started cleaning or doing my transformation of taking down Christmas and putting up my regular decor was obviously my living room. I felt like it was the room that was making me feel weighed down the most, so it's where I wanted to start with it. It was a two-day process for me just because I started late at night - you'll see like the difference in the lighting because this is at night and then the very next day I continued my journey of packing up Christmas did know a two-day thing. The one thing I was happy about that I noticed is that I didn't have to like go to Walmart and buy any extra bins, I was able to pack everything up with the bins I already had.

Light Cleaning and Organization

I also decided to do some light cleaning in this video - don't know that I showed every single cleaning thing that I did but figured while I was taking stuff down there was a lot of dust there was you know leftover like particles from like the faux tree branches, so just some cleaning. The tree wasn't as hard as I made it out to be in my head to kind of take apart and take down and what I loved that I did this year was that I actually spent the time to take the ornaments down in an organizational fashion. I started off with the green ornaments and then these are Dollar Tree bends - you saw them previously, and I bought some green ones too.

Organizing Ornaments

I love how my new system is organized - I've got all my ornaments categorized by color and theme, so next year I'll be able to put them up a lot easier. It really didn't take that long, and it was only $2 spent at Dollar Tree! I highly recommend these storage bins to anyone looking for an easy way to organize their holiday decor - they're amazing, and I want to use them in my bathrooms too!

Finishing Touches: My Bedroom

The last room I had to complete was my bedroom. I still wanted to keep my plaid pillows; they went really great with my room because I have like whites and like sand color. And, I thought that the creamy plaid pillows were perfect - they're super soft! To me, plaid isn't just a Christmas pattern, it's a winter pattern.
